Rush week vlog @ Samford University I Reagan Renee

all right hey everyone today is the beginning of Rush week 5 4 3 2 1 so it's currently Monday one unique about our school is we do delayed rush like 3 weeks in classes so it's currently Labor Day so we do have class this week while we have rush but obviously cuz it's Labor Day there's no school today however I start Rush at 3: today now I'm running to get errands done really quick it's 12:50 I just need some groceries to get me through this super crazy busy week and then I have to go put up laundry get ready get my outfit on that I haven't tried on yet and go to fly th PE rounds I'm GNA Vlog this week because it's gonna be crazy um but yeah it's going to be [Music] fun [Music] okay successful trip I never been there before we'd only got on target for groceries and I really really liked it um it's a little bit more expensive because it's a healthier place but I think it's good this is my water from the Aon and chug it before I'm walking around in the heat rushing all day so it's now20 so I'm happy with time wise I'm going to do a quick rapid fire grocery haul while I try to organize the kitchen with Rush and I want to be have time to do homework and I have papers do this weekend stuff I wanted to have a quick grab lunch in here in my class schedule I either have lunch between 1 to 3:30 every day depending on the day freeze dried fruit apples and pears got some bananas there just a random Cliff Builder chocolate Mt protein bar I've been getting fruit cuz our calf has literally like apples and bananas so I got some fresh strawberries yummy some fresh just like grill chicken strawberry feta salad chicken salad kit and then I figured if I needed more I like protein shap after as well just like chocolate milks and then there's all of our stuff in the fridge so far last bag this is some exciting stuff two yogurts the brandom yogurt I get they don't have a St they have a Target so I just got two random ones to get through for now like pre-blended Assa e bows and this is assai peanut butter and cacao and then I got just like the OG one I have so I have the little most sweet tooth ever it's this like it's a spoonable smoothie but it's called sweet nothings and it's no sugar ads plant-based and it's cacao bananas cashew dates Chia and flax seeds I'm like that's so great um and I got strawberry I've gone through two to three SD cards today so I'm hoping this one works anyway um my type of school their recruitment is called values based recruitment so with that this summer I had to fill out a values bracket then they give you this lanyard with your name I think your major maybe and then your top three values so I'll probably show you when I get it but this is a new blush I just got so we'll see if I like it anyhoo outfits obviously matter but it's not a huge deal again this isn't SEC rush so I kind of want to show a different side of Rush um then cuz I feel like everything on the internet's all big schools and that's just not everyone's experience this Monday I met with my roog game group and we met for an hour and a half just like over dinner and we just literally asked whatever questions we had they walked us through um conversations what they look like once here in the houses on Wednesday we had this thing called 70101 so basically we all went in the big like Auditorium here at my school and um it was like 2 and 1 half hours 3 hours long it's kind it was kind of long um but basically everyone speak inform us how everything works and then we went off with our road game groups and watch all the philanthropy videos for each chapter and then Friday we had Greek tailgate what which is kind of a pre- rush event which isn't normal for girls um to have but basically we met with our Ro game group once again that's typically how that works and then we traveled as a group to each cuz it was the first football game to each little tailgate section and you had about 10 minutes at each one and you just go talk to whoever and it's very it's not part of brush so they're not taking notes it's more for for us to feel more comfortable inste trying to get the vibe it didn't really give me much information cuz I only talked to like one to two girls from each and it's like kind of forc conversation with them um like our real game would literally go find someone free hey hi um I just was tanning and I'm like kind of a time crunch you tanning I'm sweating and I'm gross something I'm happen in the shower oh it's we've kind of like I feel less stressed now because I've done the Small Talk The Awkward the whatever um and again there's like no pressure behind it but um it was fun we we were all in our stand colors but there were so many people at the tailgate it was actually crazy I'll insert some pictures if I have them um but I just feel very unstressed prepared going into it because we've already had so many meetings before we've run through what this conversation looks like I've talked to multiple girls in sori just like through they were our leaders at Retreat and just different things like and like everyone here is so incredibly nice and easy to talk to so I'm not too stressed about it like I'm aware I'm fully prepared for awkward conversations but at the same time like I think that I think that's pretty normal the thing that everyone says around here is that if you were to put all the Sanford sorority girls like all the same for girls that are in Greek life at a big SEC School they'd all Rush the same sority so it's like no matter where you go um you're going to find girls you like and get along with really well I'm going to end up where God wants me so feeling pretty good about it we just stress about how this is going to work with school and everything because it's like such a you're not going to 15 house houses in one day like my roommate's been rushing since 8 so like tomorrow she doesn't have rush at all whereas I have four houses tomorrow and so my day is longer tomorrow so it just depends on the person so like a lot of girls have like Rush bags and stuff and literally we bring whatever we want to bring with that's like room key student I do all that and they put it in a gown size ziplock with your name on it so it's not like we need these tote bags but I got this like Rush kit thing at The Container Store earlier and I just don't think I'm going to need it it's like a sewing kit I'm literally going to be gone for like 4 hours um so I'll probably just end up keeping this in a purse okay I have my full fit on I need to show youall a different way but finished makeup I threw some super light simple jewelry on um these are the ones I bought in the Florida Vlog if you remember I just have this like Kinder Scott necklace I went super casual chill um so let me show you the lighting is absolutely trash over here cuz there's no overhead light um I have this like pencil light pink skirt with a little CER right there and then just some white some white sneakers um so yeah you can definitely tell the shirts wrinkled most girls have like floer skirts on but I like these better on me fun fun see you on a bit have Piper here yes jul we're going to philanthropy here you we got three houses tonight I think same with you yeah yeah we're ready it's hot but it's kind of really nasty on yeah but how are you feeling going into this um honestly good I heard the houses is really loud Lou told me that our is going to be like so dead so I got to get ready to do some Screaming but it'll be good we'll update I just got the black tennis SK black convers F some green shorts and some Bay House [Music] cute let's go okay we're back from day one here's the current Stitch okay Sam had all day tell us your thoughts on all day rush cuz you're the only one that had that um I am drained but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be they didn't feed you they did not feed me that's horrible I'm a Hungry Hippo my Lord and she's doing Spanish which just not going well so basically how it worked is we met with our group and then we went to like sorority quad is how it's set up so it's like all the houses are in usually sorority R but like period but like there's not it's not like they're all like one it's like there's one one one one and then like you kind of go around and then like more and basically you go in and a person grabs you and you sit down and talk to them and then another person comes and S to talk to you and then there's a song in there somewhere none of the song I didn't get the song Till more than halfway through and when they started singing I was like what's happening they haven't sung before it look cute no it was cute I haven't G I haven't been to the one with the song yet thought it was funny yeah it was good I'm over simulated I do not know how I feel like I I took pictures of myself as I left the houses I kind of smart that's so funny I did emojis I left notes that's emojis too so I don't know how to take notes yeah I was like we chatt thing is my brain is empty when I leave I just write down what happened like I don't have emotions on here was cool like that's not going to help me in the end but I don't know what else to but like I I have like yeah I don't know I if you see right here I've got I didn't do one for one of them cuz Yeah Yeah so basically like in s road they were blasting like super fun music I was jamming out I was dancing my little heart out the girl next to me in my alphabetical order never met her but she was a fun time and we were told we look like cousins so I'm a friend was as tall as me wow Sam I'm so happy for you one of the girls I talked to remembered you from the sorority from the tailgate because I was saying seriously am I that popular cuz she was saying cuz she was basically what happened is I was like oh I'm I was like I was like oh I I have a sweet and Veil and I like I love it I went to the tailgate who's in a sweet and Veil and she loves her sweet mates too and I'm like either rean or Sam that's too funny oh my gosh I bragged about yall literally to every single I was like the transition has been great my of a lot better that's what I've said too so she was like wait she like ised I think it's reg and she's short and and like brown hair and I was like yes guys yes that's my sweet they like line you up in Alpha order check you three times and we had to wait for like an hour to go in the first house but then you walk in in each house some touch you some don't they walk you in the chairs you chat gra and you talk for like 10 seconds there was one house where they were spring you in I was the last person in line for everyone I was the last person my honestly it was great I love at the beginning I felt like they were releasing us into a dance party at summer camp yeah worse about one later you rank it lower and then you get to go to Sisterhood for that one that's so true I the ones that I was feeling like I was like well I'll get to go to Sisterhood that's so true so I'll get a second chance if they invite me back I know that is also then it's not meant to be it doesn't matter there's nothing you could have done hand is over this process yeah all right okay dinner time good oh yeah okay hopefully the calf will have real food today yeah since it's been Labor Day weekend they've been starving come on hey I just got back to the room for the first time in like 5 hours today let me walk you through my day I woke up at 8:30 and then I woke up and I was like M don't have much time so I made myself a breakfast in the little kitchen and then I did my quiet time and then we had campus wor and then right after that I had 4 hours straight of class so I just go here at 3:00 I had a protein chicken a fruit bar but now we're going to eat lunch and dinner at the same time um I just had a huge yeah I'm B at my salad with chicken and then um I have to it's 3:00 now I have to get down there at 5:15 completely ready won't be back till like 9:00 and dining hall is closed at 8 so I won't be getting that's so inconvenient joke so I'll be eating every single meal here today in here but today is just literally Non-Stop and I need to try to write a couple pages of a rough draft before I leave as well so all right hey everyone wow this is a rough it's been a night um so I didn't get my R back my badge because I was with the hro game long story anyway I'll show you them cuz normally we would to turn them in so it has your name those are my values that's that so basically I had four houses tonight I loved one of them it went by pretty fast my last house I only talked to two people and that's literally it which was really strange but I did have the houses that saying today so that was interesting experience how are you doing waiting for another day um it took me a really really long time time and fill out that application and now I'm listening to Spanish people speak gibberish do you feel still good with the choice you made yesterday when we voted yes I feel steady we both voted like immediately like I was walking out of the house and I was like so basically for sister or for philanthropy you have four ones and then a two and a three um and so I kind of had a bottom three already in my head so it was pretty easy to do that it is Wednesday now and I just have finished on my classes for the day and I've been up since 6:45 so it's going to a long day just had some Pepsi but so I got my schedule back right after my class for my rogam and basically for sisterhood rounds they're Wednesday and Thursday at least for us this year and you can get one to four houses back I went to her picked it up and I literally to peed so bad so I like glanced at it and like dipped so I didn't actually read it I just saw oh I have four houses today so I was like okay cool I got four back so I assumed it was my four ones that I ranked all once but it was not so I just talked to my mom and my best friend from home cuz I was a little upset about it but um it all work itself out I didn't I kind of had a top house but it was like two that were tops one of them that I think I like slightly more based off just one round they dropped me which I was very sad about cuz I felt like I had really good conversations with them but they didn't invite me back so I'm done out of that one can't be in that one ever I have all four today so I don't have any houses tomorrow I'm off tomorrow but I have four in row tonight and I have an essay and a bunch of stuff to write so I'm going from 5:30 till 9:30 and then I vote got three of my number ones back but one of my number ones wasn't really number one in my mind I just needed a house to go there and then I got my number three back which was like technically number six um like the one I liked the least I got that back which I heard that happened to a lot of girls this year and this is also the biggest rush group they've ever had so anyway oh who knows maybe I'll meet some people there that I like and bond and click with better than the ones I had for philanthropy round got to go do some dishes clean and then do homework but that's the sit it's all going to work itself out just have to go through the process with an open mind the whole time I'm going to I think I'm going to wear this one cuz I was between this dress and that one but I'm thinking this one I don't see it I don't know what's happen it is it is it is those that watch the movein Vlog and want to see the updated bathroom where it's like homeier wait we're not done yet I know but we built the she built the shelf and it's above the toilet it's a little danger cuz there's no toilet seat and then we have shower Cates under there we have the mirror and then we have a bath mat and then we this is the ugly show C it came with and we put a cute one in front of it my shower cap and then we hang the lofas and then towel hanger and then we have decoration um that has yet to go on the wall but it is this anyway she doesn't have her schedule yet back which is such a bummer I got none actually she got none back yeah I'm the only one am I wearing a ponytail mhm what is that I am the shiny one let see Sam tell us about your schedule um I have one tonight at 9:00 which is crazy and then I go from like 5: to 8 tomorrow okay that's definitely doable for sure not bad got my top four back which is crazy cuz I did not think that was going to happen so it's possible guys guys it's wherever God wants us so we're approaching it with humility mhm and you should too yeah y so anyway we're trying to pound out this essay but here's the sitch is we do this thing where we all sit in the room and talk but it's due at 1 tomorrow so I'm going to try to type the rough draft and then go through it tomorrow but these were the notes I took and then we're GNA um this is what I've done so far so um basically we at the point where we're so busy that it's just everything's fake and we don't do any of it so true that's that's the we've entered oh you have class little fellow you have class he's a fellow going to study you need to put hey you need to put the over this she's so I supposed to read two chapters and I forgot people had class after a certain time of the day yep I'm here I'm going to when you get your schedule 4:40 after your class the time has come to get ready but it's about to start raining um and my hair and humidity just aren't friends and I am very scatterbrain right now I just wrote my essay and my brain is just stressed about rush so it was bad Focus I literally am listening to worship music right now as I talk cuz I need to calm down and be less all over the place because I literally have like 30 minutes makeup change Jew I think now that I I've been dropped from one that I felt like went really really well I'm a lot more nervous and feel like there's a lot more pressure I have yet to prepare any sort of conversation with people but I'm going to we have to get there at 5:30 and I go into my first size at 6 so I'm going to like figure it out then my hands are like shaky goodness I'm going to finish my makeup and then get back to you'all cuz I have like 25 minutes to leave I have my f for Sisterhood so we have this dress I believe it's from Lulu's it's very cheap and thin but it works and then I have my tab the same shoes like worn all three days because blisters so no wedges James Avery necklace and random jewelry from who knows where so that's a bit yay putting lipstick on and my hand was shaking cuz I'm so stressed but that's okay are you ready for tonight I'm scared okay I just finished I voted immediately I knew going to my last house what my votes were U my opinions did not change as far as voting order but I like some a lot more than I did or dislike them less than I did but I still have the same order it was humid it was raining when I got there but I got posted on Sam bir's Instagram so my mom sent it to me actually that's funny um Sam had one house at night and she's already showered in Red by the time I got back yep so yeah two of them I absolutely love so let's pray I get this back on Friday so yeah I need to eat dinner but I don't think anything's open so I guess I'm eating my food from the fridge I personally had a lot more fun with Sisterhood round because I felt like the conversations were a lot easy to have cuz it felt like less like question question question where you're just like talking about your friends what values you want your friends what values like you have and care about and pour into other people so I feel like if you like are passionate about that type of stuff then it was way easier conversations to have and I had two to four girls in each house and they play a little Sisterhood video of just them all their fun memories which was super sweet um it's 5:11 now I'm we're leaving at like 5:45 to go eat and then I'll head to the sidewalk to start again so um I also don't have lipstick on so just ignore that I have just Freer perspective um multiple people got their top and their very last option back um both their top back like it's literally all over the board I have wow you can't see this I wore this in Florida so if you watch that Vlog very cute romper but looks like a dress in the front strapless here's like the back of it um and then I have these super tall white heels on a little sweet mate trip to the calf to eat dinner at 5 5:45 so that I can get to my rounds after that I will say though because I've already gone through so many motions today I am not the slightest bit nervous that's good so at least there's that going for we're in the dining hall they're here too and we have some hold up I'll show yall we have some AED potatoes um some rice chicken and vegetables the ice same same we are in go time mode we have like 15 minutes to eat we have massive Hills to walk to but Kate's being lovely and escorting me got on these heels are so stinking tall and these we're about to go up some hills and I'm kind of nervy she's got it though she's an athlete I'm getting a weird feeling getting nervous I don't I don't know I'm more excited than before good good okay bye bye probably okay it's like way later now I've already voted but here's Sam's fit the bare feet wo but yeah um everyone's in the other room like the six of us and we're debriefing tonight but I voted um one thing I will say if you do go to sford I don't know if other schools do this but after you finish your last house on PR night you can talk to your R Gams but not about your Ps on the house or you can say it they can't give you any information back however I got to talk to the my number one bid I got to talk to a head Ram that's in that sority and she just got to explain a lot of things to me and not in a recruitment way like trying to get to know you want you just like answered any questions I have which was super duper helpful they had a lot of sweet Traditions they did in the pref rounds they went by pretty fast had a lot of good conversations with other freshmen that were rushing and stuff so it was definitely a good night and I'm feeling a lot better and excited for bid day than I was before so yeah and Sam thoughts on your she's done one house so far um it was really good I think I'm going to be really conflicted though so that's a good issue to have yeah but good but we're going to change and get into comfy clo now yes that's on preach that's on Amen woohoo here everyone it's Saturday now so to head to the gym but I just wanted to cover a few things about sford rush and things that I really loved about my experience beforehand just wanted to say is like the main thing I've realized from this experience as a whole is just the sford community in general are genuinely the most like supportive encouraging people ever like uplifting everyone's so positive everyone's helping you process everything like the Rog amps everyone's just truly incredible there's not a single bad interaction I've had with anyone just had so many girls reach out check in Rog Gams just like help everyone process through what the best option for them is going forward and a bunch of stuff and just genuinely felt so incredibly loved this week by people I've known for very short amount of time the girls like I just felt like I made a lot of new friends or became closer friends with people through standing outside waiting for Rush rounds to start even if we don't end up in the same house like what's great about sford is like literally everyone's friends with everyone in different sorties like just if you're in one sority it's not like you can't hang out with other people like want to say that and everyone's just like constantly pouring in truth into us like even in classes we were literally talking about what Bible verses we were focusing on that day for all of us rushing like you just bond with people in your class that are rushing also just because all the emotions with it's bid day M's doing her hair we've been practicing with this one random trucker hat I own to see if if it would look cute yeah I hate hats but not all of them give you trucker hats so we don't know okay snapped it Sam did a little crimping so I just sat down and they look back read this bad boy and answered questions but I still have a thousand thank you 1 th homework assignments to do and we won't get back to like 9 tonight but yesterday K should I do another was a day of a migraine so we didn't do homework but we had a fun day before I was dying in pain um so yeah we basically have to head you literally just wear athletic clothes I have like a tank top on under this cuz we throw the shirt on for whatever swy we're in over so we're going to walk down meet our road game group and then we head up to so we meet them at 120 walk up to the football field the Hannah serit at 2 we get to watch our road gam forun home though which is fun cuz I literally have no idea what either of mine are excited nervous tired all emotions right now homework was a little tough to do at the moment but we did it so got my laundry done this morning too and church and stuff so that was good okay hey everyone we're at the football field um everyone's waiting everyone's waiting to get our bids um you want to show them the folder what all right here there um but earlier we they taught us all the s hands signs and then they took a picture that's our two Road Gams and we all did the hand sign with them doing it in front cuz we guess theirs and I think we were wrong cuz they were really laughing when they saw it but they're going to do like a little fashion show reveal so we're just chilling waiting um she already knows what she is but cuz she did suicide we'll see but yeah it's kind of nice Vibes out here though so yeah we're about to get our bids oh my gosh hi okay my heart's bracing so fast I literally can't oh my go I can't I love how you're nervous I Know nous M options I'm so scared don't look do not look I can't see [Applause] it 5 4 3 2 1 oh my [Music] gosh SS we're running to a plan my hands are like shaking so bad we're about to run home in the vog hi Vlog we um got to chill in the house for a bit and the house is one of the newest so it's a party and we just got all the class pictures oh it's so pretty and we got our cute hats and our cute bag yeah we got really nice like tote bags okay hey guys um we're going to pick up a little fun package but we have our little oh it's on this side funto I'll give you a haul later but we are running cuz we have to go to the store to get heels for tomorrow yep and you can tell them about your fun day I went Kyo I'm very happy it's my birthday that was just kidding it's birthday them could you imagine that' be so fun yeah okay yeah we're getting packages everyone we're doing a haul before we run to Target so bidday stuff we got this jersey I changed but cuz her just soaking what she went down the water slide then our like dolphin sign Le and then we got these little trucker hats so fun they really cute that's that's the the little coloring yeah this I find the color I think it's funny cuz all of our stuff's brain though oh yeah all of our stuff this a real deal rainbow themed but our colors are like yellow and blue so I like rainbow and we got a little cup of course phone wallet car sticker a fun little game day pen oh my gosh that one's so cute I didn't is that the one you got it's how and I think both of our favorite things we got the B Shir guys look we wear them to class tomorrow but the theme was like Welcome To Paradise and so they're literally adorable they're so cute and then my mom got me there's this company that does this for every once this massive packet we have trucker hat I like Cy stuff number two yellow and blue that one's cute I like that yeah I lowkey didn't think I'd like it but I kind of like the white fits That's So Soft like Terry oh oh it's a towel oh that's such a cute towel so a beach towel it's a beach towel it's a beach towel it's a soft beach towel you probably this is um Reagan's cup it's says TR Delta on it shocker yes yes little pouch I'm going to get one that's like a big pouch too y a jewelry holder wait that's really cute that's really cute stickers try out loves the Bulldogs and glasses okay okay this is adorable what is it this is a little waterolor display that she can like put on her desk I can put it here too yes she's the Delta Delta Delta Queen I was so confused why would this is a flag it's blue hoop earrings cute like bracelets this is so this is literally My Tribe at Camp colors like I own everything that's so funny that's awesome that's our haul we're going to go to Target the time has come where rush wi's over um tell them who do you hoot CL you I don't have a hand on I me yall saw I'm tried out so we're all different but we had a hand sign but it got K with Sam sorry we had a hand sign but it got banned it's kind of awkward um but yeah I do too that's our thoughts on Rush if you have any comments about how stford Rush works let me know and we'll answer yeah overall
