Barrow Beat Championship Derby County! Match Review!

terrible terrible terrible a little bit more terrible now it's another game where dby County haven't been at the races and I know we talk about Watford and yes we competed but we didn't have enough of the ball and I think tonight shows why we don't have the ball we have the ball and look like we have no idea what we're going to do with it we have this Obsession of uh just sending it wide out of play or not really giving it to anybody and just sort of holding it in stupid positions like we'll have like 10 seconds of the ball with our center backs and I just I don't even know we're going to get into talking all about the game tonight and the penalties and everything that comes with it taking a look into deadline day uh but before we do do that make sure you hit that subscribe button and not waited for Paul W's press conference have not waited to hear from the players because I I just don't think there's much that can be said that acknowledges how poor that performance was and I think Paul War's going to gloss over it I think he's going to say we made a lot of changes and things like that and I just I just think the excuses aren't going to wash that team that we put out could start on Saturday I'm not saying it will it it most likely won't given the performance but that team that started could be a team we have to play in the league and we've just struggled to compete with League 2 Barrow and that's not to be disrespectful to Barrow it's not to be um disrespectful to their Club their fans their players or anything like that but ultimately any team we put out should be able to compete and be able to create chances against a league two side and obviously uh West Brom lost to Fleetwood in the first round um making changes so it does happen it's not like it's against the Realms of possibility but the facts are I never there's probably a couple of occasions where I felt like we could have created something maybe could have scored but Barrow also had a couple of occasions where they could have scored I I think for me a lot of the problems that we seem to have as a club at the moment is we don't want to have the ball we don't know how to keep the ball we don't seem to have a structure in the way we build up we don't seem to have a structure in how we uh move in the for forward line to create opportunities and it's it it is a difficult watch and I have massive respect for anybody who has gone to Barrow today today and watch that because it is diabolical um and you look at the squad of players we've got and you look at the rest of the championship which were obviously competing in this season and you think how are we supposed to compete we don't seem to be investing in the squad um anymore it seems like it's going to be loans and free agents which don't get me wrong they could have an impact like uh chiwa played tonight had some good moments but didn't really come across as anything special I think to be honest with you is probably one of the better players for the first 10 15 minutes um you obviously look at the signing of Kenzo and I'm starting to think what was the point because he's a player who likes to be on the ball likes to create things on the ball and he never seems to get the ball in buildup play we go to as uh depending who's playing the role it's either oo or Adams why aren't we giving the ball to Kenzo yes obviously you want Kenzo a little bit further up the pitch so he can be a bit creative fair enough but why are we not giving Kenzo the ball why are we not like creating these opportunities and it it re like this season on the whole so far has been difficult to watch middles BR the overall result was amazing the performance wasn't RAR when you look at it on a bigger picture yes we scored on the counter which is a poor War thing to do we defended resolutely amazing defensively we were great attacking wise we offered next to nothing um you obviously look at the Blackburn game defensively was unstable didn't really create anything Watford apart from really a couple of opportunities throughout the game especially that Evo Adams won Leon when Sunny Bradley won as well didn't really create a great deal other than that and it is really hard to sort of look at this Derby County Squad the management structure the sty of play and think that we're going to do well this season and be able to video that I'm not particularly impressed and I think we have a long way to go before uh we can start talking about a survival Championship side and whether that means a change of management or things like that down the line that's a question which we'll get into further on uh into the season so it's going to be an interesting one uh make sure you hit the Subscribe button turn on the notification Bell and I'll catch you in the next part of this video and it's don't get me wrong we'll win games this season we'll lose games this season there'll be highs there'll be lows there'll be trials there'll be tribulations and we've just got some massive problems at this club and uh certainly within the fan base because there's a lot of people that are absolutely like that seem to be okay with us being poor and given like the example of last season to oh we can turn it around blah blah but I think the big differences was we had arguably the best Squad in League one last year this season we don't have anywhere near the best Squad in the championship we don't have anywhere near what I'd consider in my opinion a mid-table squad I don't even think we're in that conversation we're certainly within that bottom six conversation and yes I've predicted Darby to finish 21st I said it's going to be a long and difficult season but I expected us to look a bit better I expected us to be able to have the ball and make things happen I expected I expected the St play to progress and ultimately it hasn't across the course of this transfer window across the course of preseason it hasn't changed at all I can see there being a world when we bring in another Center back that we go to a back three um not to be more defensively solid but because then you can have more players close to the number nine and I think ultimately if we're going to score goals this season we need three people as close to the middle of the box as possible because we're not creating anything we're not not getting into good positions and yes we have the occasional Breakaway um but tonight yeah I haven't looked at the stats I'm not going to look at the stats right now we'll look at that uh when I look into the Bristol City game at the weekend but it's it's poor it's just very poor and I don't know whether this is a is it a poor War thing is it a confidence thing is it a player thing are they like if we go back to last season we started poorly last year and obviously in League one it's a different conversation because we had one of the best squads it was always possible that we could turn it around but like how far into this season can we go playing like this because obviously there's a lot of people that will look at it and think oh we'll be okay it's only five games in but for me I think I'm not saying that five games in that's how you're going to finish but I think you set up uh performance level that you've got to hit consistently and the performance levels that we're hitting right now I don't think are that good we're not very good on the ball which makes it difficult to create chances we we've we've never really been an open Play Chance creation team under Paul War anyway if I went and looked back through last season's numbers uh regarding set plays and um open play and things like that like yes open play it would be higher because you have more time in open Play play in set pieces but I don't think it would be as as high as you expect it should be for a team that challenged for promotion and um we're one of the best teams in the league so it's it's ultimately a very difficult situation that we find ourselves in I've said numerous times that Paul war will probably get until October November um I think there's an international break around that time I'm not sure whether it's in start of November or uh mid October but I know it's around there at some point and I think if we continue how we're doing now I think there could be serious questions to ask and uh a serious decision to make for uh David CLA and Paul War because I personally think if we go on and get three points in our uh next five games or whatever we'd be on Six Points um we'd be on six points after eight in the league we'd be out of the comp we be out of the Cup competitions we'd probably still be uh out of the very ation Zone probably but who knows and I just think it's a really really really difficult situation right now cuz I just don't think we're good enough um I don't think we're playing well enough I don't think we know what to do on the ball I even think off the ball we're looking a bit sloppy um we're a bit tighter at the back than we was versus Blackburn but we couldn't have been any looser versus Blackburn so it's really difficult it really is and I really hope that whatever happens on Deadline day I'm not sure whether it's Thursday or Friday but whatever happens on Deadline day we've certainly got to um pick up a striker and ultimately like will chiwa be the guy to create us chances this season who knows um I'm pretty sure I heard uh on radio Derby uh this evening that he's never played a senior winning game which I find quite interesting because we've also gone on to lose today uh so at what point do you get superstitious about that um and you so you look at the deadline day and you're going to need a striker we're going to need a center back and where are they going to come from Paul War's probably going to update Us in the Press uh as I said at the start I've not watched it I've not listened to it um I will do it some point and we uh assess it um when I make my video about uh the preview for the Bristol City game that'll probably drop on Thursday um and we'll just have to see what happens with uh transfers and things like that as the season progresses because it's difficult right now to look at what we're doing how we're doing it and things like that and I just I just think we're missing a lot of quality and when you think Barrow have just gone toe-to-toe with us and have barely been touched I think that just speaks volumes of where Derby County are right now so obviously you can let me know your thoughts down in the comments
