foreign [Music] [Music] ER I'm an assistant district attorney in New York County I'd like to ask you some questions about a series of things that happen in Central Park on the night of April 19th of 1989. before I do that I'd like to advise you of your rights with respect to statements you may make now okay you have the right to remain silent and to refuse to answer any questions do you understand anything that you say can be used against you in court do you understand you have the right to consult a lawyer now before any questioning and have a lawyer present during any questioning do you understand could you please answer it loud yes you have no lawyer or cannot afford a lawyer a lawyer will be provided for you now free of charge before any question do you understand now that I've advised you of your rights are you willing to tell me the truth about what happened in Central Park on the night of April 19th of 1989. yes before I go any further I just want to say it is now 12 35 it is Friday April 21st of 1989. present in this room as I told you I'm Elizabeth letter I'm an assistant district attorney also president Tim Clemens who is an assistant district attorney in New York County and detective Nugent who you have already met I believe have you met detective music before okay um [Music] when you spoke to detective Nugent earlier did you make a statement to him about what happened in Central Park on the night of the 19th and before the detective took that statement from you did he advise you of his of your Miranda Rights yes [Music] could you please State your full name [Music] what's your last name please Wise Wise where do you live and how old are you 16. do you go to school where do you go to school the Bronx Stevenson High School and what grade are you in there [Music] I'd like to ask you if you would to tell us when you went to Central Park on the night of April 19th of 1989. what do you know what time it was no let me ask you before we start I see you have a soda in front of you no no that's all right I just wanted you asked for soda a little while ago and the detective brought you a soda are you feeling okay yes okay um did you go to the park on the night of April 19th yes and what were you doing before you went to the park do you remember nothing where were you doing nothing were you at home or hanging out on the streets were you with some friends or were you by yourself and when you did you have a girlfriend with you yes okay what's your girlfriend's name this what's Lisa's last name do you know where she lives yes yes where's that okay [Music] what were you doing with Lisa before you went to the park [Music] still [Music] you were in a store no she went to a ticket store I was outside did you run into some people then oh it's my friend how do you know Eddie I love you for a long time to work together um and you don't know his last name do you know where he lives yes where does Eddie live did you and Eddie do something then no well you said a minute ago that you ran into Eddie yes okay what happened after that um it's talking to me about what I was doing I said nothing that's where I was going I said no way so I looked over to us my right hand shoulders there was a bunch of guys going to set you up so how many guys did you see there was a little bit dirty is that a guess or did you count them I guess did you recognize any of the people in that group yes yes who did you recognize I recognized Steve when you say Steve is that Steve Lopez do you know Steve Lopez yes how long have you known him [Music] would that be a couple years and did you go to school with him no you know from the neighborhood who else did you recognize fadari who's that episcadoria a man or woman a boy or girl he's a male do you know fedori's last name no do you know where he lives yes where does he live [Music] do you know youssef's last name you know where he lives yes where does he live how well do you know yourself when you said a few years do you know him because you went to school with him no do you know him from the neighborhood yes who else did you recognize Kevin is that Kevin Richardson you don't know where he lives how well do you know Kevin quite a few years and again do you know him from from the street who else did you see that you knew Patrick Miss Patrick this is a young man do you know Patrick's last name no did you see somebody that you know as Steve did you see did you see a guy by the name of Steve there yes and do you know Steve's last name where does Steve live do you know I thought I always do [Music] I like Auto flavors do you see anybody else in that group that you recognized a couple of others well I don't know whatever what were their names do you know I'm sorry Raymond do you know Raymond's last name is that Raymond Santana yeah I was known for that the first day did you see him here in the precinct earlier yes who else could you see Orlando Fernando Fernando that's not the same person as Fedora different person and do you know is it Orlando or Fernando Orlando Orlando do you know where Orlando's last name no do you know where Orlando lives in Foster one I don't know exact place and do you also know him from the street yes did you happen to see somebody there by the name of Mike Mike do you know anybody by the name of Mike Mike Briscoe do you know that name was there anybody else that you saw yeah did you see anybody by the name of McRae Anton McRae correct though do you know somebody by the name of Antron you do know someone named Anton this but you don't know his last name did you see him here today at the 24th Precinct did you see someone by the name of Lamont Lamont do you know anybody by the name of Oman was there anybody else the clouds do you know someone by the name of Clarence Clarence Thomas do you know him you were saying that these people were all part of a group of 30 people about where did you see them someone told us [Music] do you remember what street you saw them on when you first started and what did you do then I would I went over did your friend Eddie go with you yes did you speak to anybody when you went over to the group yes who did you speak to or for Yusuf what did you say to Yusuf or what did Yusuf say to you I said what's going on this one apocalypse to chills it was an apostle too it's so Eddie came along when he stayed too long he left let me ask you when you say you said that you Yousef said to you we're going to the park to chill yeah what does that mean I would say it was one clock just do whatever whatever it is to do did he say anything to you uh using the word violence no you don't remember that they were going to the park to chill and did he tell you to come along or did you say you were coming along and what did you say so okay when did you have a conversation with Steve it's just a day this is the time that he made it he just made up saying that um was going to call I told and then I would say Eddie can go who said that he can't count Steve why did Steve say that he couldn't go a little you know is [Music] they don't tell me so did Steve say something to Eddie I said can't go and what did Eddie say he won he went anyway did Steve say anything to you about what was going to happen in the park Paul for violence talking about so whatever is there for us to do I said where we get caught by the cops um nobody could get caught with you I was told who was with you or whatever there's no school on us what did you say when you said that I said nothing and the person Steve that said that is that Steve Lopez okay what happened after he said that we just we just we all went apart how well do you know the park do you know where you went when you went in the park yes would you tell us where you went to a field you went to a field a field do you remember how you got to that field was this a field that had baseball markings on it yes was there anybody when you went into the park was it dark yes was there anybody on the field when you got there yes yes who was coming out of the field this is like a um when you say it was like a bum what did this person look like it was big tall heavy cell phone is doing 300 pounds big guys um when you say he was a big guy he was 300 pounds um you saw a detective Nugent earlier do you think detective Newton is a tall man could you say that for me [Music] was he how much taller was he well five five eleven or five of love and about wasn't it a lot heavier than a detective what uh what happened when he came out it was come with me a couple of others it was like using the back to the crowd getting acquainted with each other I get to know each other oh you guys that came on the Block know each other better than acquainted anybody else with everybody ready to do this ready to do they charge the bigger who hit him what did the person look like from hit him [Laughter] [Music] black black face DDF dark complexion with dark skin how did he wear his hair and do you remember what he was wearing did it have a hood or it was just about black and white coat yeah when you saw him hit him can you tell us did he hit him from the front of the back no he jumped on him he jumped on him he jumped on it from the front to the back and did he knock him down that way what did he do after he knocked him down he might start stopping him what exactly did he do um he stopped on his stomach kicking with his face everybody was joined it on this and foreign did you see anybody take any food from him yes you did yes well who did you see take food from um [Music] everybody started stomping on him and kicking him did you also do that no what did you do I was over there I was over there to get a character with somebody in the back who was that skinny or Audrey where does Andre live how long do the people kick and as you said stop on I did for quite a while yeah was this man screaming was he crying no was he moving yes it was dude moving so funny though he was dead who thought he was dead Steve and Kevin why do people think that he was dead so fast I hit the floor and all you see a black and he fell out and fell asleep when you say you fell asleep were his eyes closed and he was knocked out he wasn't moving anymore and you were able to see his eyes were closed yeah because by the front about a friend he was gay I'm sorry I didn't understand no he sent his comment but it was scary it's like everybody rushed him at the same time all 30 people I know it's about good five five to ten did any of the people who were the people that you saw stopping him Steve Kevin now okay when you talk about Al is that Alfred Morris yes you know where Al Morris lives did these guys say anything when they were kicking and stopping no are they about the living body there I told him did anybody take beer from him what did they do with the beer do it away okay anybody pour anything on him foreign to put advice to graduate people who did that he fell out drunk he had to put our business out of his head so the reason you thought it was a good idea was not just so that he wouldn't get run over but so that if someone found him they wouldn't think that he'd been beaten up whose idea was it to put him in the grass that was your idea yes and did anybody move him to the grass yes who did that oh it was a couple of new face out there I don't know the names not the people like Kevin or Raymond Santana not those people like that citizens you think it was yeah all right what happened after he was moved to the grass removed myself further we say two people on the beds they were about the rest of people that was going to dance and said now you had said earlier that you were near a field that had baseball markings on it when you put the this bum on the grass was that near that field the field is for the uh the field was further up from you were still walking toward the field or had you already passed the fields so it was after you put the bomb in the grass that you continued to walk toward the field uh we walked toilet as you go out we're ready to go out and we said two people in advance they said who said let's speed up the mail Kevin who said that oh [Music] honey I'm sorry I thought Kevin was yeah [Music] with him so he's decided not to do it but why didn't other people want to do that huh if they was out with their girlfriend or something then we'll get filled with then when that happened to them so it was Kevin's idea to do it and when he suggested it nobody wanted to join in so then he said oh let's not so he was the one who first suggested it and then when nobody wanted to help him he said nah somebody was about to help him with a daughter [Music] so he moved up and you continued going toward the baseball fields you see the leather guy he was no more it was a fresh cut fresh what does that mean when you say like did you say a fresh cut yeah right it was no ball it was nice [Music] I just want to say I'm sorry uh one of the police officers came in and removed a Podium I'm sorry I made some Interruption um I'm sure you have seen the uh video camera we're taping the statement and we're recording it on a tape recorder honestly but I think that that happened out of the view of the camera and I just wanted to say that's what the noise was you were describing a person that was a fresh cut yeah he wasn't a bomb he was like one of us just like he plays he's clean yeah what did he look like was he black or Spanish or white or he's black right was he by himself and was he walking towards you or yeah what happened when he walked towards you um no Stephen said everybody said it too he said no he'll be about to leave my lord said somebody says something for the hell of it so he changed that person he ran fast he got away and we didn't catch ready for real while I'm chasing back no more was there someone there that night that you saw um a black male who had two gold Front Teeth you remember seeing somebody who had two little teeth in the front and did you see foreign you said that this fresh cut he was asked for money and he did he give anybody money no he just ran did he run back the way he had come or did he run he ran off to the fifth he ran into the park and did anybody chase him if it was changed after fall off a few minutes did you chase after him no did you see who did chase after him uh this is I don't know the people you don't know their names no after they chased after him and didn't catch him did they come back to where the rest of the group was yeah they moved up towards the field okay what happened then and we say I bought we see the biker to buy it put together with two people a male and a female the male is in the front the funeral was in the back and were they coming towards you attack them who said that huh do you remember song the bike is kind of slowed down between anybody telling you know we want to go have you ever ride fast and everybody was here everybody so he got away he was able to ride through and pass the group let me go back for a minute um before you went into the park that night did you do any drugs no did you smoke any cracks any pot do you do any cocaine did you have any kind of alcohol no were you straight when you went in yes yes and you didn't have any drugs or any alcohol when you were in the car no all right for those people on the bicycle got away did anybody chase after them no what happened next a little while further up if there was a runner coming and everybody running towards his way he was coming towards the highway and he sent all of us he's turned back around and there's a little breaking coming and he wanted a biker don't come towards our way so the bike around him with they're both the same way did you guys chase after him were you able to see what that genre looked like uh was that jogger running on a paved Road or was he running on a dirt path okay uh what happened next so there's a coughliness Alfred he said he said don't throw Rockets coming out and somebody yelled down go back in your car before we rushing hanging back so he went hey instead of close the door he pooped he pulled out of CB he started talking so everybody calling the cops so I said yeah so we looked down towards the exit of 104th Street and remember that I said the police car coming around on the big Spotlight hitting everybody so I'm better everybody read towards um I forgot never delay is that the one that has a fence around it is that the residence on the reservoir did some people run a different way yeah okay where did you run I ran towards um going toward the west side did you run toward the reservoir no how many people ran with you it's so far the same one down I ran with you were you together or did he just run in the same direction was he close to you when you were running yeah how close was he was close right beside you yeah it was cool who else besides Al was running with you I don't know [Music] I lose in advance the two of you were in the front and there were other people behind you do you know who was in the other group that ran a different way so far I don't know if I told the reservoir my dog with black tape going around me what did you say that my boy when was you step in your house this is my house the day that the accident happened he was there earlier in that same day so they never was running horses track we got on the floor you lay down no when you say you got on the floor like the grandson running still okay were you running on a place that where the horses ride and that was cleared of trees yeah okay let me go back for a second you said Yusef was running in a different direction yeah it was all the new guys ready Told You So the directions and Yusuf had a ball your bar how long is that bar how long is the bar about all right and what is it very heavy what's it made out of all right is it solid yes does it have anything on it where is the black tape on it was it on the whole thing or just a part of it uh where did you get this uh [Music] what what kind of bar is it what do you use it for um half of a really nice person come in and they get kids out they get keys from you know from other from other family and trying to come and do our line so you should put the ball right there on the lock okay and that means that your brother can't open the door he just can't get to the line it's like it's like a slam nothing stand up don't work no more did you know that Yusuf actured who are the people who ran with yourself [Music] these people um someone like Kevin Richardson where did he run with you or what you said this is what kept this is what um Kevin uh Steven I don't know okay I was with me it's like everybody picking a partner who the people while they were running it and we got a certain feet going down that's where the police was at that's over there by the horses the police were off the paved Road and they were in they were right there they were on the paved Road near where the horse path is so so you were running away from the police yeah he's going down into the where all the trees is at put on with water waterfalls and all that down there's a stream in there and is that down a fairly Steep Hill yes you were running away from the police you were running away from the police yes um were you afraid the police would get you because of what happened to the bum yes and so you were hiding from the police you when you ran down the stream yeah that's what I say and he officers and did you see any joggers there did you see any joggers running were you running through trees yeah going straight down straight down to the trees right I'd like to show you a picture before I showed you let me just see if we can [Music] okay all right I'm going to show you this picture and ask you does that look like where you were running [Music] no okay does that look like near where the this is one just bear with me for one moment foreign does that look familiar to you without the police car being in the picture does that look familiar to you going straight down yeah that's where you're running no oh is that better yes okay thank you foreign let me show you a third picture again on the night that you were there the cars probably wouldn't have been there but do you recognize what's in that picture [Music] okay is that a fence near the field and when you say the field you're talking about the baseball field and if you come down from the field there's a little over here from there there's a hill and then and then a little bit of a paved Road and then a Long Hill is that where you were running that 90s could you turn the picture and point it toward me and show me show me if you can on that picture where were you running does it show in the picture no okay can you show me is it more toward you or more away from you one on the side toward me but it was in that same area Maybe [Music] pull it out [Music] and angle it down perfect okay all right that's one last picture when you look at that picture does that look familiar to you can you see if you look far into the background in the picture can you see the stream in the back of that picture all right turn it and show it just right is that where you were running yeah okay and you said you were down here password screen right who was with you when you were there what happened when you were down there is done as a result I wasn't left it was a lot of water a lot of mud on the dirt everything I stepped in mud and I jumped after myself on the dirt dried dirt and ran across and I stepped into a stop you stopped with somebody else I would only stop but now in front of you or behind you the moment the moment that I was out there that's the moment that Steve Kevin um Raymond chapter lady okay that's Jonathan right you saw those three people jump a lady jogger I see I heard I heard a lady scream on her way down all right you heard you were describing as you and Al and another person that you didn't know who was were running and you were in the mud and it was dirt and it was all kinds of brush there right trees and sticks as you were running what was the very first thing that happened that Drew your attention to where those three people were with the lady did you hear something did you see something what was it so I knew it wasn't a rabbit so remember to make noise coming towards trees and stuff because I heard Larry gigler and I come our runner coming down the hill and I got further further down into go home I heard help okay did you hear that was that a man's voice or a woman's voice but right before that you heard some giggling and what other noise were you hearing shut up that's for her please so I stopped I stopped in pause I want to sit down one for the aisle where was that noise coming from in relationship [Music] was that further up the hill or further down by the stream from there by the strip was up the hill further down by the stream but up the hill she's right there where I was saying well because if I'm not ran I couldn't see see right there in front of me I could have stopped and looked at her when she was saying that I was right here and he was growing up she's right here so you were you below where she was yes were you directly below or to one side or the other side one side about how far would you say you were from her if you had to volleyball point something out about good eight feet away from me that's why I hit a tree you hit a tree I hit a tube I ran around the tree I was seven seven feet with you and you hid behind the trees you said you saw Kevin and who else Kevin Steve is Sean who's Shawn [Music] was there somebody named Sean there no right you saw Kevin Steve and Raymond yes you mentioned there were two Raymonds before is this uh Raymond Santana what did you see them doing huh right then I heard the lady scream I heard a Steve voice I heard Kevin Boyd I was laughing what did you hear Steve's voice say huh yo yo he said um that's what I do a rape and she was still screaming because I'm off the guidance which came oh blood the head close to her mouth I'm sorry what was the last thing you said no they must have put their head over her muscles soon did you see somebody put their hand over her mouth no but that's what suckers every time she wanted to yeah it kept cutting over back and forth because about three times and when you say Cut Her Off did he say something to her or did her voice suddenly stop or what all right we see y'all the first time seriously why they shut this woman up she making too much noise the second time she said she was talking to them what was she saying I don't know she was just talking about the shut up how [Music] because you see like the toilet um you know Steve you know I was talking to her he said you're selling slap you said stand up he slapped her knocked down could you see him slap her huh could you see him hit her yeah when he hit her was she standing up or was she laying down did he hit her with his hand yes and where did he hit her with his hand where did he hit her with his hands did you ever see her standing up no did you see how she got to be there I know she's forced to go down there when you say she was forced to go down the hill do you know if she walked down the hill or she was dragged down the hill how do you know she was dragged down the hill you sound like she said I don't want to go to everything it's like did you say that again please how did you know that you didn't want to go it was like you can get here screaming you trying to go off go off on Steve and Kevin could you see what they were doing there huh could you see what they did to her the sexy music okay before that to get her to that place did you see how they got her today off the street who grabbed her huh who grabbed her um did you see how he grabbed her she picked up and covered her mouth did somebody hit her huh did somebody hit her um so they got down to the bottom Raymond put his hand over her mouth and uh the other two did yeah what was she doing to FBI thank you fired seeing fire you know he dropped her on her feet he carried out that he tripped her that's what he carried her down did you say that They carried her down yeah how did they carry her down it was carried about hands and feet why do picture do you recognize that um you can't tell where that is there's a light post over on this side of the photograph and there's some Woods down here does that help you place where it is you don't you're holding around and show me where you say that they grabbed her right you're indicating there's a mark on that picture there what are you pointing to okay is that is there an orange police marker there yes right when when [Music] she was dragged which way from that can you show me on the picture which way from that was she excuse me when she was taken [Music] where can you point on the picture the path that they took with her you say straight down uh straight through now when you look at this picture can you tell what that picture is [Music] do you recognize that as a picture of where she was that's what she was there that's what I picked her up from you see where that Mark on that photograph can you see that sort of uh light whitish area does that lead in the direction that they took her yes okay did you try to tell me again if you could how they took her from that spot into the area okay I'm asking you to try to think as best as you can don't tell me what you think they probably did try to tell me exactly what you saw or heard okay take your time don't pick someone picking her up who was picking her up baby let's stay picking up you said a minute ago the first thing that happened was Raymond grabbed her and she started to fight and she tried to resist so he needed you need a little sister to help help him make it easier for him who came to his assistance Steve and what did Stephen do to help him Steve what I've done this because he got to go Raymond let her go and when he let her go did she fall down yeah did she follow her knees but she got a couple of her feet and Steve grabbed her from the back that's where they drive the oil that's where they grabbed us that's where they dragged all the way down and who dragged her who dragged her Steve okay did you see how he dragged her no how do you know that he dragged him how do you know then that he dragged him how do you know that's all I did um that's what you just say in the bathroom and stay dragon all the way down that's not what I got there that's friends when I got there and I turned my back yelling hell that's why I took my backwards that's when hit the floor that's what hit the grounds that's the spot that you see the bloody that's the spotted after you were in the park and you saw where the blood was yes okay did you go to the park and see where the blood was with the detectives today yes and was that with Detective Sheehan yes and did you show him where the blood was yes and the spot that you saw with Detective she and that's where you saw her body yes you said that that sticker down to that spot what did what did Raymond do while Steve dragged her there they hold it down they was holding her down on the way to the spot yes what did Raymond do you helped put a lid in that spot that you see the blood in and he hold her arm straight out and Steve pulled out the knife did she scream oh yes and he covered her mouth [Music] so you don't know whether she was hit unconscious or whether she had her mouth covered she just suddenly stopped screaming when they when uh Steve dragged her down where was Kevin 's halfway up there we're doing to bring her down he was helping yeah what was he doing to help well I think he was holding or something down in the middle of it it'll get scratchled from her he saw him get scratched by her when she got to the bottom of the hill what did Steve do with her well for Steve he's doing the her life is through and he says he he wrote this son it's kind of straight straight off color shirt was she wearing oh no you don't know what color it was you said you saw him cut it you know you see it but I said they must have took the shirt or whatever did somebody take the shirt off of her yes see you and did somebody take her other clothes off who took a pencil um what kind of pants would she wearing this is one of those sweatpants were they long pants or shorts I think it was tight sweatpants when you say tight sweatpants where they like bike yeah and when the pants were taken off what happened it was taking longer two and a half for you they just took them halfway was she lying on her back or on her face what happened it's right there busted you know who punched her in her face Steve and did you ever see him use anything to hit her with no I had to say you didn't see him use any kind of a weapon did you see him use a stone or a brick how many times did you see him hit her I said his other one twice [Music] the beginning you up until you hold her hand he slapped up and he slapped up since he scratched him up who did that you said that someone had sex with her yeah okay it's Kevin um you sure who had sex with you yes who was the first person to have sex with her [Laughter] [Music] it's raining do you remember talking to the detective about who had sex with her no when you talk to this detective earlier to detective Nugent did you when you talk to detective Nugent earlier did you make a statement to him and tell him that two people had had sex with him yes and did you tell them the names of those people yes did you tell him one of those people with Steve yes and do you remember that you told them that one of those people was Kevin yes now you just said it was Raymond remember it was well do we have all three of them had sex who was the first one who had sex with him [Music] he will stay okay when he had sex with her did you see him take his pants off huh did he take his pants off I feel how far down did he take his pants please and did he get on top of her yes did he lay down on top of her yes and what did he do when he laid down on top of her yes he just raped her for me when you say he raped her what did you actually see him do she's just like refusing head is still slapping and hold on and part of her body was facing you you know what I'm saying his back was facing my face so his backwards to you couldn't see what he was doing but he was near her legs after Stephen was done then what happened again was she still screaming did you see if she was bleeding yes she was getting away yes where was she bleeding from where was she bleeding from then did she have any shoes on [Music] um when Kevin got on top of her did he take his pants off yeah can you take him all the way up okay and did he do the same thing that you saw Kevin do oh did he do anything different what was different what was different people he did Saturday night um Steve did that's about it another player put it in her mouth who wanted to put it Ray Raymond want to kiss him did he did he say that while Kevin was playing with it too and they were playing with her what exactly were they doing what exactly were they doing I was still playing with her children was playing with her legs too and after Kevin was done is was she screaming when uh Kevin was finished did Raymond have intercourse with her no okay did you see anybody masturbate on top of her she should play with themselves jerk off what did you just looked at a minute ago can you see in that picture of her head you see the side of her head how did those marks get on her head did that those aren't the injuries of a knife the doctor says she has a fractured skull well it is but I shouldn't say that those aren't the marks of a knife she has a fractured scalp she was hit with a very very heavy object there do you know how that happened is that the way she looked when you saw her and you say that she was moving and still screaming when when you saw this she wasn't in a position like she was dead you seen that picture her eyes her eyes are black and blue [Laughter] you know how her eyes got that way who punched it who punched him remember Steve and I feel it was all happens did you see anybody with a stone or a brick or any kind of a heavy object today after this happened did you hear anybody say anything in her with a stone or a brick or something heavy that's a big thing who said something to you the next day um yeah you didn't call the police I would be there I know if I was running from the police if they were if I would have stood around there or told them their product they would try to make me talk my way and say that I killed today all day day two lady what I didn't do with the rest of the guys anymore let me tell you Corey we're going to do some tests oh a contest we're gonna take a specimen from her all right and we're going to analyze that we're going to take samples blood samples of a lot of different people all right I just want you to know that if we do that we will probably get an order to take a sample from you and then we'll compare the two tests all right because you're in a position now where if you know that there's going to be a match that you'd be better off if you tell us about it now I understand instead of saying something that's not true I understand I understand if we do that test are we going to find that it matches Kevin it's gonna match one of them I know what I see okay I just want to give you a chance because I want you to be in a position where you're going to tell us the truth and I just want you to know we're going to do those tests and we're going to make comparisons we're going to compare them okay now if you want to change something that you've said to us because we're going to find out something in short order Now's the Time to change it do you have
