Crime Alert hourly update breaking crime news now I'm Nicole Parton Gary Ridgeway Infamous as the Green River Killer was unexpectedly moved from the Washington State Prison in Wala Wala to the King County Jail in Seattle the reason for his sudden transfer remains a mystery leaving many puzzled by the decision now 75 years old Ridgeway is serving 49 life sentences for the brutal murders of 49 women in the Pacific Northwest between 1982 and 1988 the King County prosecuting attorney's office confirmed that Ridgeway was booked in the King County Jail on Monday under quote institutional hold this relocation marks ridgeway's first return to Seattle after 21 years but authorities have not disclosed the motive behind moving him the King County Sheriff's Office stated that they are actively investigating potential related cases since ridgeway's arrest in 2001 in connection to the Green River Murders could there be more cases the unexpected development has shocked many including the families of the victims Donna Hurley the mother of one of ridgeway's victims expressed her distress over the news Hurley's daughter known as bone 17 was identified last year nearly four decades later through DNA evidence Hurley believes Ridgeway might be cooperating with authorities to locate other victims who have yet to be found or identified Tammy ly ridgeway's last known victim was identified in January 2024 as a 16-year-old from ever at Washington her remains were previously linked to the Ridgeway killings in 1988 despite this there are still other unsolved cases possibly connected to the killer in ridgeway's confession to investigators he spoke about his method of gaining Trust of his victims before brutally killing them say she's always in the car we driving down the road and she first she wants to see my ID so I whipped out my ID and with my ID would be my I put my finger over my driver's license to hide my name but on the opposite side was um pictures and a picture of my son and they would to see my son and they would know I was probably a normal person Ridgeway a prime suspect in the Green River killings was finally linked to the crimes in 2001 W through DNA technology although Washington State abolished the death penalty in 2023 Ridgeway is serving 49 life sentences without the chance of parole in connection to his heinous crimes more crime Injustice news after [Music] this a man in Florida is dead following a standoff with Pope County Sheriff's SWAT team in Lakeland in this bizarre turn of events 40-year-old Thomas England died of an apparent overdose as police deputies attempted to get him out of his home near Rockridge Road according to police reports and WFLA and Tampa England got out of bed and went to his neighbor's house around 2 in the morning asking for him to help light a cigarette when The Neighbor didn't offer to help England went back to his home and grabbed his shotgun and fired the gun into the neighbor's house deputies responded to a 911 call for help when doing so they found that the shooter had barricaded himself inside his home the sheriff said quote we knew he had arsenal we knew he used a sought off shotgun to shoot into the neighbor's house deputies were able to get two other innocent individuals out of the home before filling the house with gas in hopes that the suspect would come out when they finally did enter the home the suspect was found dead lying on the floor with his shotgun it was determined by medical examiners that he had died from a drug overdose during the standoff Aaron Johnson gets into an argument with his wife and decides to spend the night somewhere else he packs up his camping gear and drives 30 minutes away that's when things took a Sinister turn for more here's Nancy grece Aaron Johnson gets in an argument with his wife and decides to find another place to spend the night he drives 30 minutes Southeast from Birchwood Wisconsin to a campground he sets up a TP and settles in he's never heard from again his cell phone goes straight to voicemail it's not even pinging it takes cops nearly two months to find his truck they also find clothing including gloves boots and pants wallet still inside cops get a tip somebody spotted a man wearing only a tank top and boxers the day after Aaron leaves Birchwood the tipster asked Aaron if he needed help Aon said no and kept walking cops believe Aaron may have been suffering from hypothermia Aaron Johnson 34 56 200 lb shaved head and arm sleeve tattoos now missing 4 years if you have info call Russ County Wisconsin Sheriff's 715 532 2200 for the latest crime in Justice news follow Crime Alert hourly update on your favorite podcasting app with this Crime Alert I'm Nicole Parton
