NOW. WE BEGIN WITH BREAKING NEWS SPANNING MULTIPLE COMMUNITIES IN TWO STATES. THE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE SAYS IT IS INVESTIGATING A SUSPICIOUS DEATH OF A WOMAN IN TROY THAT IS DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO AN INCIDENT THAT LED TO THE CLOSURE OF THE PISCATAQUA RIVER BRIDGE IN PORTSMOUTH FOR SEVERAL HOURS. YOU CAN SEE THE IMPACT OF THAT STANDSTILL ON YOUR SCREEN. POLICE SAY THE SUSPECT IN THE DEATH IN TROY WAS KILLED ON THE BRIDGE IN AN OFFICER-INVOLVED SHOOTING. POLICE ALSO FOUND AN EIGHT YEAR OLD CHILD WHO HAD BEEN SHOT IN THE SUSPECT'S CAR. THIS FOOTAGE FROM A COUPLE HOURS AGO SHOWS THE CAR ABOUT TO GET TOWED FROM THE SCENE. AND I'M JEAN MACKIN A PRESS CONFERENCE WILL BE TAKING PLACE THIS AFTERNOON AT 2 P.M., AND WE HAVE LIVE TEAM COVERAGE KEEPING TRACK OF EVERY DEVELOPMENT IN THIS TRAGIC SITUATION SPANNING PARTS OF THE STATE. WMUR TIM CALLERY IS LIVE IN TROY, WHERE INVESTIGATORS BELIEVE THIS ALL STARTED. AND AARON AND JEANNE, IT IS A VERY DIFFICULT DAY HERE IN TROY. THE CENTER OF THIS INVESTIGATION, FOCUSING ON THIS BROWN AND BLACK TWO FAMILY HOME HERE BEHIND ME. IT IS ON MONADNOCK STREET. IT'S VERY QUIET, BUT AN ACTIVE INVESTIGATION RIGHT NOW. WE'RE BEING TOLD THAT THE INVESTIGATION ITSELF IS FOCUSED ON THE HOME WHERE YOU CAN SEE THERE'S AN OPEN GARAGE DOOR THERE. NOW, TROY POLICE ARE STATIONED AT THE TOP OF THE DRIVEWAY, PREVENTING ANYONE FROM GETTING DOWN THERE. THE STATE POLICE MAJOR CRIME UNIT IS HERE, POSTED UP IN FRONT OF THE HOME. NOW, THE NEW HAMPSHIRE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE SAYS POLICE RESPONDED TO THIS HOME ON MONADNOCK STREET OVERNIGHT FOR A SUSPICIOUS DEATH. SOURCES TELLING NEWS NINE INVESTIGATES THAT POLICE RECEIVED A CALL FROM A MAN SAYING HE HAD KILLED HIS WIFE AT THEIR HOME. THEY SAY AN ADULT WOMAN WAS FOUND DEAD INSIDE THE HOME. HER IDENTITY HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED AT THIS TIME. POLICE ALSO SAY AN EIGHT YEAR OLD CHILD WAS WHO LIVED AT THIS HOME WAS MISSING. NOW, UNFORTUNATELY, HE WAS FOUND DEAD INSIDE THAT SUSPECT'S CAR IN PORTSMOUTH. WE HAD A CHANCE TO SPEAK WITH NEIGHBORS WHO, AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, ARE IN COMPLETE SHOCK. THIS NOONTIME, THEY TELL US THAT THE FAMILY RECENTLY MOVED INTO THE HOUSE. THEY JUST BARELY MOVED IN, LIKE A MONTH, MONTH AND A HALF AGO. WE KEPT SAYING, OH, WE GOT TO GO MEET THEM. WE GOT TO GO MEET THEM. WE NEVER GOT THEIR. AGAIN. NEIGHBORS HERE IN TROY ARE JUST IN SHOCK AFTER LEARNING WHAT HAPPENED HERE. THAT WOMAN THAT WE SPOKE WITH SAYS SHE SAW A HEAVY POLICE PRESENCE HERE LAST NIGHT. SHE CAME OUT AND ASKED POLICE WHAT WAS GOING ON. THEY DID NOT PROVIDE ANY DETAILS. AND THEN TODAY, SHE'S LEARNING THE TRAGIC OUTCOME OF WHAT HAPPENED INSIDE THIS HOME. AGAIN, THE NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE POLICE MAJOR CRIME UNIT IS STATIONED HERE. THIS IS A VERY ACTIVE SCENE, BUT VERY QUIET. WE HAVEN'T SEEN TOO MANY INVESTIGATORS COMING AND GOING FROM THIS HOUSE. NOW, POLICE TELL US THEY WERE ABLE TO PING THE SUSPECT'S CELL PHONE OVER TO MAINE. AND THAT'S WHERE WE FIND MY COLLEAGUE, KELLY O'BRIEN, WHO IS LIVE IN ELIOT. WHERE THIS CASE CONTINUES. KELLY. YEAH. TIM. SO THAT PHONE WAS TRACKED TO THE KITTERY AREA IN BOTH MAINE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE POLICE RESPONDED. POLICE FINDING THE SUSPECT'S CAR PARKED ON THE BRIDGE ON I-95. HE WAS FOUND STANDING OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. AND THAT'S WHEN POLICE CLOSED THE HIGHWAY AND BEGAN NEGOTIATING WITH HIM. TROOPERS CONSIDERED THE SUSPECT ARMED AND DANGEROUS. THEN THIS HAPPENED AROUND 430 THIS MORNING. POLICE OPENED FIRE AND SHOT AT THE MAN. HE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD AT THE SCENE. THE EIGHT YEAR OLD CHILD WAS ALSO FOUND DEAD INSIDE THE SUSPECT'S VEHICLE. NOW WE ARE EXPECTED TO LEARN MORE INFORMATION. THIS AFTERNOON AT A JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE WITH MAINE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE POLICE OFFICIALS.
