ROBBERY. POLICE ARRESTED CRINER LAST WEEK. TONIGHT, FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP AND VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS FACED OFF IN THEIR FIRST DEBATE OF THIS ELECTION CYCLE. HOUR 27 NEWS, WASHINGTON CORRESPONDENT RASHAD HUDSON HAS THE RECAP FROM CAPITOL HILL. IN THEIR FIRST MEETING EVER ON THE DEBATE STAGE, FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP AND VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS WASTED NO TIME HITTING EACH OTHER ON THEIR RECORDS. THE NIGHT STARTED WITH A HANDSHAKE. KAMALA HARRIS, LET'S HAVE A GOOD DEBATE. DID YOU SEE? YOU HAVE FUN. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. AS VICE PRESIDENT, KAMALA HARRIS AND FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP MET FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE CANDIDATES SPARRED ON THE ECONOMY TO BORDER SECURITY, TO KEEPING AMERICA STRONG ON THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE. DONALD TRUMP ACTUALLY HAS NO PLAN FOR YOU. I'M AN OPEN BOOK. EVERYBODY KNOWS WHAT I'M GOING TO DO WHEN IT COMES TO THE ECONOMY. TRUMP LEANED ON HIS RECORD AS PRESIDENT. I HAD NO INFLATION, VIRTUALLY NO INFLATION. PEOPLE CAN'T GO OUT AND BUY CEREAL OR BACON OR EGGS. ACCESS TO ABORTION HAS BEEN A FOCAL POINT FOR THE HARRIS CAMPAIGN. THE GOVERNMENT AND DONALD TRUMP CERTAINLY SHOULD NOT BE TELLING A WOMAN WHAT TO DO WITH HER BODY. EACH INDIVIDUAL STATE IS VOTING. IT'S THE VOTE OF THE PEOPLE. NOW. IT'S NOT TIED UP IN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. AND TRUMP HAS MADE BORDER SECURITY A MAJOR FOCUS OF HIS CAMPAIGN. THEY ARE TAKING OVER THE TOWNS. THEY'RE TAKING OVER BUILDINGS. THEY'RE GOING IN VIOLENTLY. HE'D PREFER TO RUN ON A PROBLEM INSTEAD OF FIXING A PROBLEM. IT'S UNKNOWN IF HARRIS AND TRUMP WILL HAVE A SECOND DEBATE BEFORE THE ELECTION, BEFORE HITTING MORE SWING STATES LATER THIS WEEK. TOMORROW, BOTH HARRIS AND TRUMP WILL BE AT NINE OVER 11 EVENTS IN NEW YORK AND PENNSYLVANIA.
