>>> TURNING NOW TO THE RACE FOR THE WHITE HOUSE. VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS AND FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP ARE BOTH ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL TODAY. TRUMP HEADS TO THE BATTLEGROUND STATE OF MICHIGAN AND WISCONSIN. THIS AFTERNOON, AND HE'LL GIVE REMARKS ON THE ECONOMY, INFLATION, AND MANUFACTURING IN A STEEL PLANT IN POTTER, MICHIGAN. TONIGHT, HE'LL HOLD A TOWN HALL IN LACROSSE, WISCONSIN, ALONGSIDE FORMER CONGRESSWOMAN, TULSI GABBARD. MEANWHILE, HARRIS AND HER RUNNING MATE, GOVERNOR TIM WALZ WILL CONTINUE THEIR BUS TOUR THROUGH SOUTHEAST GEORGIA TODAY. NEW INFORMATION FROM THE HARRIS CAMPAIGN SAYS THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE WILL TOUR CHATHAM COUNTY, AN AREA WHERE DEMOCRATS ARE PICKING UP BIGGER MARGINS, AND THEN HOLD A CAMPAIGN RALLY IN SAVANNAH. SO WE HAVE TEAM COVERAGE, FOLLOWING BOTH CANDIDATES TODAY FROM GEORGIA TO MICHIGAN. WE'RE GOING TO BEGIN OUR COVERAGE WITH NANCY CORDES, AND THE HARRIS CAMPAIGN. NANCY, THE HARRIS CAMPAIGN HAS REALLY BEEN PUTTING A LOT OF RESOURCES INTO SWING STATES. THEY CLEARLY SEE GEORGIA AS THAT POSSIBILITY. SPENDING A LOT OF MONEY AND A LOT MORE TIME THAN USUAL, EVEN THOUGH IT'S JUST TWO DAYS, TWO DAYS IS A LOT. USUALLY THEY DO MULTIPLE STATES IN A DAY. IS THERE EVIDENCE THAT HER FOCUS ON GEORGIA, AND SOME OF THESE OTHER SWING STATES, IS THERE EVIDENCE THAT IT'S WORKING? >> Reporter: YEAH, ANNE-MARIE, TWO DAYS IS A LOT. BUT IT'S ALSO WHERE THEY ARE SPENDING THOSE TWO DAYS THAT IS SO INTERESTING. WE'RE HERE IN SAVANNAH, IN SOUTHEAST GEORGIA, THIS IS TYPICALLY NOT A SPOT THAT YOU SEE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEES SPENDING A LOT OF TIME IN THE FINAL STRETCH OF THE CAMPAIGN. THIS IS REPUBLICAN TERRITORY. DEMOCRATS TEND TO SPEND A LITTLE MORE TIME IN AND AROUND THE ATLANTA REGION, FOR EXAMPLE. BUT THE HARRIS CAMPAIGN FEELS IF THEY CAN SIMPLY DO BETTER HERE THAN THEY WOULD HAVE OTHERWISE, WITHOUT A VISIT, THEN THAT WILL HELP THEM IN THIS STATE, WHERE AFTER ALL, JOE BIDEN DID WIN FOUR YEARS AGO. HE WON FAMOUSLY BY JUST OVER 11,000 VOTES. WHILE HE HAD BEEN TRAILING IN OUR BATTLEGROUND TRACKER FOR MONTHS AND MONTHS, NOW THAT HARRIS IS THE NOMINEE, SHE'S ACTUALLY PULLED EVEN WITH TRUMP IN THE BATTLEGROUND TRACKER. SO THAT HAS HER AND WALZ, PILING INTO A BUS HERE IN SOUTHEASTERN GEORGIA. THEY STOPPED AT A HIGH SCHOOL YESTERDAY. THEY WENT TO A BARBEQUE PLACE. THEY'RE GOING TO A FEW SMALL BUSINESSES TODAY, AND THEY'RE GOING TO END UP AT THE ARENA BEHIND ME FOR A RALLY THIS EVENING. >> SO HERE'S SOMETHING THAT'S REALLY INTERESTING. HARRIS AND WALZ, THEY'RE FINALLY GOING TO SIT DOWN FOR THEIR FIRST TV INTERVIEW. SOME REPUBLICANS HAVE BEEN CRITICIZING HER FOR NOT DOING THAT. I FIND IT INTERESTING THEY'RE GOING TO DO IT TOGETHER. I WAS TALKING EARLIER ABOUT THIS, RIGHT NOW, THEY'RE IN THIS SORT OF SWEET SPOT, WHERE PEOPLE WHO LIKE THIS TICKET CAN SORT OF DEFINE IT THE WAY THEY WANT TO. BUT ONCE THEY SIT DOWN AND HAVE THIS INTERVIEW, THEY WILL BE DEFINING THEMSELVES TO THE PUBLIC. >> Reporter: RIGHT, AND THAT'S A TRICKY THING. WHEN YOU DON'T DO THAT MANY INTERVIEWS OR MEDIA APPEARANCES, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM TAKES ON THIS OUT SIZED IMPORTANCE. SHE IS SITTING DOWN WITH GOVERNOR WALZ TODAY. REPUBLICANS HAVE BEEN CRITICIZING HER FOR THAT, JUST LIKE THEY WERE CRITICIZING HER FOR NOT DOING AN INTERVIEW BEFORE NOW. THEY ARGUE SHE SHOULD DO THIS INTERVIEW ON HER OWN. SHE IS THIS SURPRISE NOMINEE. SHE'S GOT A LOT OF QUESTIONS TO ANSWER, THEY SAY. THE HARRIS CAMPAIGN INSISTS, THIS IS A TRADITION, THAT WHENEVER A NOMINEE CHOOSES A RUNNING MATE, THEY TEND TO SIT DOWN TOGETHER, AND DO AN INTERVIEW TOGETHER, JUST LIKE DONALD TRUMP AND J.D. VANCE DID ON FOX NOT TOO LONG AGO. SO THEY'RE SITTING DOWN TODAY WITH DANA BASH OF CNN AND WE'LL START TO SEE SOME OF THE FIRST CLIPS
