Germany announces temporary controls on all land borders

these people want to make a new life in Germany following a path chosen by millions of others in recent years but soon the rules governing every Asylum Seeker here could be much tougher prompted by the stabbings in the town of singan in recent weeks in which a Syrian man admitted killing three people and wounding several others his claim for Asylum had failed and he was due to be deported but the proper procedure was not carried out now the inter I Minister says it's time to act we are ensuring foreign criminals and dangerous people in particular leave our country whoever gets our protection I say this in all Clarity must not abuse it otherwise they will have to leave our country again the new laws will Target people in several categories first any Asylum Seeker who commits a hate crime here will lose their right to stay second any Asylum Seeker who chooses to return home on a visit will lose their right to stay here third anyone who claimed Asylum originally elsewhere in the EU and then went on to do so here too will lose their right to financial benefits here a glance at the official figures shows that last year more than 3.1 million foreigners were seeking Asylum or some other form of legal protection to stay in Germany of that number more than 450,000 were still waiting for a decision at Year's End while more than 189,000 people had their applications rejected the laws will also allow police to carry out controls for knives and other weapons at large festivals and public places critics of the plan say it doesn't go far enough the far right IFD wants to end Mass migration we were right with all our warnings all our demands about migration this also makes clear that the afd was never radical never inhumane never extremist in this migration policy but simply thoroughly mainstream and reasonable recent election results show that many in the old East Germany share that view but the federal government has insisted skilled migrants are needed to fill job shortages in the economy it has even made it easier for highly qualified foreigners to naturalize as German citizens this year in effect its attitude seems to be people who come here to help the community are welcome to stay those who come to abuse it are not Dominic kanaine Al jazer Berlin make sure to subscribe to our channel to get the latest news from Al jaer
