Disney Balloon Causes Mass Anarchy at Magic Kingdom, New Disneyland Restaurants

theme parks all around the world but here now the news for August 30th 2024 several Magic Kingdom guests on After Panic at Magic Kingdom, Police Confirm No Active Shooter social media reported stampeding on Main Street USA and a heavy police presence as the Park closed on Thursday night the Magic Kingdom closed at 10 p.m. on August 29th the incident happened somewhere around this time several reports indicated there was a gun scare but no eyewitnesses reported actually seeing a gun or hearing uh what could be described as gunshots no serious inj injuries have been reported as of recording this the Orange County Sheriff's Office office has confirmed there was no active shooter uh ex-user Ang Rosa shared a video at 10:16 p.m. of a trashed Emporium writing went to Magic Kingdom today and there was literally a stampede because of a suspected shooter I thought uh that was actually going to be my last day I was shoved out of the way and fell mothers were crying looking for their daughters people were hiding it was so bad were they not looking for their sons I don't know what happened uh they added in a follow-up post that they kept up in the stores they kept us in the stores for about 15 minutes while police officers patrolled the streets and checked everything out they are finally letting us out but only on the fer booat No Buses no monals lots of people are pretty shaken up but we haven't been given an explanation uh that person also shared a personal account of their sort of the full story I was on my way to the exit and I saw three men Sprint past me then a family after them and then it was like dominoes suddenly I was the only one walking towards the exit and I was getting pushed and shoved I was ter Teri of falling because I thought I might get trampled there were some screams of shooter but I didn't hear any gunshots people started diving behind anything that could hide them parents were already shielding their kids I ran out towards Adventure Land and I started having a panic attack slowly I think uh no one heard any gunshots everyone started slowly calming down but people were still beining to get as far away as possible from the exit uh they started directing us back into the shops and police were patrolling the streets we were there for about 15 minutes uh say they finally let us out and the Montreal was shut down they initially weren't letting anyone on the buses either and just funneled us all in a line for the ferry a lot of kids were still crying and everyone was kind of trying to figure out what happened another user said they were on an operating bus although Ang Rosa said the bus stations at Magic appear to be blocked off with police cars um sharing another quick video from exiting the park user Taylor by said uh they had loved ones who are at the park and are safe they also said the incident was on Main Street us USA somewhere on there uh guests ditched everything to hide and cast members ushered many guests into usually off limits backstage areas ex user uh Nick's Energy Adventure also said they were sent backstage at Magic Kingdom and shared a photo of a half a dozen police cars in the Bus Loop outside of the park Anthony peny shared photos with wwt of the police cars at the Bus Loop and police officers on Main Street the Orange County Sheriff's Office posted to X at 10:43 p.m. that there was not an active shooter situation at the Magic Kingdom and that the gun scare was instead a popping sound possibly a balloon that occurred during a fight guest began running in a panic and that was the reported source of the active shooter rumor in a statement Disney spokesperson said we appreciate the immediate response of the Orange County Sheriff's Office to quickly assess and clear the situation normal operations have resumed and the park is now closed for the evening um if this is a balloon this is there's been too many balloon related uh crazy incidents in Magic I remember a couple years ago the the horse incident with Merida where the balloon got stuck on the horse and that was that was kind of scary but uh nonetheless uh yeah I mean typically if one person starts yelling shooter this is this is what will happen it's nice to hear that that's not the situation no one got into the park with anything they weren't supposed to have um of course it's related to a fight apparently because everything the last couple years at match Kingdom seems to be um so I don't know in the course the fight a balloon got popped and then Mass hysteria for thousands and thousands of people it's good to hear people are okay but but uh I guess it's better to be safe than sorry but what's funny here is we just had a couple days ago we had that story The Woman suing um for a supposed Stampede at Magic Kingdom when there's no real signs of what would have caused that and then we have an actual it's funny a couple days later we have a situation where people kind of actually got stampeded thankfully no one reported any injuries but um it's funny that otomy of the stories this single woman uh with her lawsuit saying there was a stampede on Main Street versus actual you know a multitude of reports showing an actual Stampede at the Magic Kingdom which you know um obviously you believe it in this situation there's a good reason why people are running as opposed to in the other situation where it's completely unclear as to why there might have been a stampede but nonetheless um glad everything's all right but you know just stay stay safe and maybe stay calm everybody while you're while at the parks the Little League team from Lake Little League World Series Champions Celebrate at Magic Kingdom Mary Florida celebrated their Little League World Series Victory as Grand Marshals before the Disney Festival of fantasy parade at the Magic Kingdom on Thursday the team got to join Mickey Donald and Goofy during a special cavalcade to begin the festivities an orange Banner was carried down Main Street Reading Walt Disney World celebrates Lake Mary little league uh Little League World Series champions a car with some of the team's coaches a few players in their uniforms and Mickey Mouse in a pinstriped baseball uniform and blue blue and red cap followed the banner the team's head coach held up the Little League World Series champion 2024 plaque to show off to onlookers the second floow featured even more players from the team as well as Goofy and Donald Duck in their baseball uniforms the Lake Mary players wore uh not only their jerseys but also uh Mickey Mouse ear hats Lake Mary of course is located just north of Orlando the team was crowned the 2024 Little League champions after defeating Chinese Taipei 2 to1 in the title game the 2024 Epcot International Food 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival Merchandise and Wine Festival has begun uh and we have a lot to talk about let's start by talking about the merchandise this year's merchandise features figment Remy Mickey and more uh perhaps the merchandise to be most excited about for Disney fans is the Muppet Labs merchandise that was released of course because uh you know Dr bunson honeydew and Beaker have taken over the Odyssey once again for the Brew Wing lab uh you'll find the merchandise at the creation shop as well as Festival markets throughout world showcase also strange enough in communicore Hall which we thought would be great for seating during the festival but instead they decided to turn a majority of it into a store even though there's two food kiosks there they've reduced the seating which makes almost no sense whatsoever but uh nonetheless uh the event has begun we will have an exhaustive video review for you coming are 100% free it's a book today oh man the central Florida tourism CFTOD Files Document for ‘New Resort,’ Rumored to be Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge oversight district has filed new documents for a quote unquote new resort fueling rumors that work will soon resume on the long running Reflections a Disney Lakeside Lodge project ww magic reported that in this new filing the cftd is considering Chen Moore and Associates for a master Services agreement for project s according to the project brief the purpose of this project is to provide a new Transformer service yard Transformer Loop and scada monitoring cabinets for a new resort last month a construction permit was filed by Walt Disney imagineering for site and facility improvements at several addresses along Wilderness way near the Copper Creek Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge this may mean Disney could add more cabins more facilities um but there are also connections to Reflections which is what we think this really is werness way was planned to be used as the entrance to Reflections the permit contracts uh the permit contracts Bal for batty a company that has uh was listed on a similar permit for Reflections back in 2019 and the document is valid through March 31st 2027 Disney announced Reflections at Disney Lakeside Lodge in 2018 following rumors of a new nature inspired Resort the long shuttered River Country Water Park was demolished in 2019 to make way for the new Disney Vacation Club Hotel but covid-19 shutdowns uh in 20120 and a 2021 permit for trailer removal supported rumors that the resort was cancelled however in 2023 3 Disney filed a 5-year extension on the permit for the project staging ground and in May of 2024 another permit was filed at this time Disney has not made any announcements suggesting the construction of Reflections haard will resume obviously they could have also redesigned it it could be a different hotel but the Assumption here is that is a nice big plot uh it's a prime piece of real estate uh one would assume if they wanted to build there before they still want to build there now um uh I think for DVC they they essentially picked a couple of projects that they felt were um maybe would sell better and would cost less to build namely being the cabins at Fort Wilderness and um the new island Tower at the Polynesian which are you know both of those projects considerably smaller than building a completely new hotel um so I think they kind of just threw those projects uh forward in the timeline and and put this on hold for a little bit but now as time moves on and those open and they sell out um you know Disney Vacation Club always wants more inventory to sell so there there's always a new Disney Vacation Club resort seemingly on the way and I prefer this till a one of two things needed to happen either when they gave up they needed to put the trees back and fix that plot of land so Fort Wilderness felt like Fort Wilderness again or something has to happen with that land but leaving it as a big you know big pile of dirt with construction fencing is not the best option like it's it's one of the most Serene areas in all of Walt Disney World and it just just it's been depressing back there for far too long so um I like to see something happen at this point obviously I prefer trees but you know um an actual building people can go in is is a nice constellation as opposed to the dirt Mound new experiences are coming to Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail, Mickey’s Holiday Pajama Party, and More Coming to Disneyland for Christmas 2024 Disneyland Resort for Christmas 2024 Santa Claus and other characters will be in the fantasy land theater where guests can decorate cookies and make crafts previously we reported that Mickey and Minnie Mouse would have new costumes but they aren't the only ones that'll be Dawning new looks this winter season as Disney released a sneak preview of what we can expect to see goofy clarabel cow Donald and Daisy wearing on Main Street the Chip and Dales ornament Trail will debut on November 22nd in the downtown Disney district and run through January 1st guests can purchase a map from multiple shopping locations in the downtown Disney District at the resort hotels or at Disneyland for $9.99 and once the search for all the themed ornaments is completed or or not the guest can pick up a holiday keeps either way you get the keeps Disney of course has teased dozens of limited time holiday themed food and beverage offerings coming to Disneyland Resort uh they'll release more details at a later time for now all they've confirmed is that the Mickey gingerbread cookie will return as if there was any doubt and starting on November 19th Goofy's Kitchen celebrates the holidays will open to guests at Disneyland hotel and on the same day at the Grand Californian at storytellers Cafe Mickey's holiday pajama party a breakfast and brunch with characters in new pajamas will be starting Disney also announced new holiday merchandise collections coming from the parks including Mickey Mouse family Christmas holiday red and snowman collections merchandise will be available for purchase at multiple locations such as the world of Disney Elias and Company and the Emporium and Disneyland Resort will bring back the uh very popular Christmas fantasy parade as well Disneyland Resort will also have massive gingerbread houses on display at the Grand California and all new Decor at the Pixar Place Hotel the most ionic tradition during a Disney holiday is seeing snowfall along the rivers of America on Main Street and the West End of Downtown Disney and Disney has announced those uh will all be coming back this year as well the believe in holiday magic nighttime firework spectacular is back and Performing nightly throughout the season at Disney California Venture World of Color season of light presented by Pandora Jewelry will return to Paradise Bay some of the attractions will receive a seasonal overlay of course as well there's It's a Small World holiday already going on as Haunted Mansion holiday which has that virtual queue and Radiator Springs in cars land in California Adventure will also have its holiday overlay uh bringing fresh cheer to Luigi's Joy to the Whirl and maters jingle jambur Disney Festival of the holidays is returning to DCA celebrating Southern California through food beverages new and returning live entertainment and more Disney also announced that the Mickey's Happy Holidays cavalcade will be back and Disney teased that the California Adventure Festival the holidays uh they tease the festival the holidays merchandise collection which will be found throughout the park as well Disney Viva Navidad will be back at Paradise Gardens at California Adventure where guests can meet characters craft and enjoy live music uh the Viva Navidad Budget Cuts Strike Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party, Will Only Perform on Weekends Street party this year will only be returning on select days and that brings us to our next story which is about those select days um if you may you may remember the past this event has been offered uh during the holidays at Disneyland this was a daily offering of course um the last several months at Disneyland for entertainment have been rough there have been a lot of cuts and a lot of changes uh 90% of which I would say are not for the better um and so this is the crazy part is this Viva Navi DOD schedule is very very short there are very few days in which you can actually experience this and this is by far I would say it has to be one of if not the most popular part of the entire event I think it tests really well with guests it's been a Smash Hit since day one um so it's it's weird What's Happening Here the ultimate Fiesta for Navidad will begin on November 16th and end on January 5th but the performances will only happen on the following 16 dates so that's November 16th and 17th the 23rd and 24th November 30th and December 1st December 7th and 8th December 14th and 15th December 21st and 22nd December 28th and 29th and January 4th and 5th and that is it though the celebration will only be performed on Saturdays and Sundays it will still be hosted by the three caberos and feature mini and live performers the Disneyland website describes the party as follows enjoy the ultimate Fiesta for Navidad this joyous Street party hosted by the three caberos features exuberant performances including authentic folkorico dancers Mariachis Brazilian Samba dancers drummers and incredible 12 foot tall uh Moji ganga puppets of Santa and Mrs Claus with a special appearance by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their fiesta best again speaking of those budget cuts that have impacted live entertainment at Disneyland through this year of course they ended the stage performances at Club Pixar two months ahead of schedule they also got rid of the Doctor Strange Mysteries of the Mystic art show uh in total all of this coming after cast member unionization which is a really bad look by the way um this is sad vivvav do is is phenomenal to to even the cost to bring a show back for 16 dates is nuts and really like let's let's be honest about what what's going on here what has to be going on here is uh you know we had we had heard rumors from people in entertainment they had reached out to us and said we don't think they're bringing back Vivan avad this year usually by now we're being cast and all this other stuff is happening and we haven't heard anything and so you know we we obviously are in good graces with Disney these days so we reached out to Disney to to find out do you have a statement is this official is Viva aidad coming back or is it not so if Disney told us Viva aidad would return they didn't didn't offer these details but they told us it would return so here's here's what I will say is I think I believe the plan was probably to not bring back Vivan aidad and I think they got cold feet about it knowing that the public would not respond well to cutting this show that's what I think happened and so essentially they they were like okay well we'll cast it but we're only we're only going to run it on weekends because that's cheaper um do I think that's astronomically cheaper probably not because I think you probably spend a good amount of money in the leadup to staging new entertainment at the parks every year right you have to you have to cast people you have to have rehearsals you have to do all of this stuff I'm sure there's all sorts of work that has to be done when you you know bring these seasonal floats and decor and all this stuff out of mothballs I'm sure there's all sorts of stuff you have to do to make it look good or work again um and so there's a bunch of money spent upfront anyway which then at that point I don't understand why you would deprive five days a week of guests out of the show at that point just give just give it to people why are you why are you doing this to people um it it can't possibly save them that much money it's just not I don't I don't think it makes sense to do and I think people are going to look if people haven't caught on already and are complaining I think guests are going to show up during the week obviously it's a very local audience at Disneyland people are going to show up during the week and they're going to say hey i' I've been coming to to holidays at Disneyland for 10 years years and it you always had it during the week so I I showed up expecting it to be here and I'm sure they'll get lots of complaints at Guest Relations about it and that's the right thing to do if you experience things in the park that you do not enjoy or that you think are lesser than what they used to be you should go to guest relations now when you go to guest relations I ask that you be courteous and kind and remember the person that you're lodging a complaint to was not involved in the decision to cut or remove the thing that you're upset about so just really nice and just say like I just want to leave a note that someone hopefully will see that that we are disappointed that Viva Navidad is not being offered that's all you have to do and and the message is sent loud and clear if enough people file those complaints right but again please be respectful when you do so there's no you know they didn't cut your show they didn't the guest relations cast didn't take the show from you don't be mean to them please the Orange County Register Disneyland Spending $600,000 to Replace Crumbling Jungle Cruise Tiger Scene reports that Disneyland will spend 600 $1,000 to replace the jungle cruise tiger scene inside the crumbling ruin section of the attraction maybe that's where the money for Vivan aviad went according to the Disneyland website Jungle Cruise will be closed from September 16th through October 3rd last November we reported on walls suddenly going up around the ruins with the audio animatronic tiger still visible at the center of the scene it looked like he had a little house some theming was added to the wall soon after uh but there have been no changes since and the fake ruins reportedly crumbled and and now Disneyland's finally going to fix them according to the register they filed those permits valued at $600,000 for new electrical footings a steel frame and cement plaster rockwork uh the photo you're looking at now uh will show how the scene previously looked with an archway above uh and behind the tiger the four crocodiles remain on the steps as does the giant statue of a head uh embedded in a nearby tree several new shopping and dining New Avengers Store, Earl of Sandwich Tavern, and more Announced for Downtown Disney District experiences have been announced as part of the evolution of the downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort coming this winter an all new shopping destination will open celebrating the unique fandom and stories of Earth's Mightiest Heroes and their Amazing Friends The Avengers Reserve will feature favorite characters and stories through Collectibles apparel accessories toys and Comics curated assortments will make this a must visit for fans of all ages says Disney also coming this winter is the dander shop which will be a fresh quintessentially Southern California Boutique celebrating Trend forward fashions for Disneyland fans offering a stylish collection of apparel accessories and jewelry essentially think of this as an replacement for the dress shop um which looks like is on the move because Marceline's confectionary is being reimagined and expanded into the Disney wonderful world of sweets a Whimsical candy sweets and treat shop featuring tasty favorites such as churro toffee caramel apples sour balls lollipops packaged Confections and freshly made worther original caramel popcorn you'll be able to watch these delectable Delights being handmade from an exhibition kitchen viewable from the prominade and the shop will also open this winter and in the meantime you may visit The marcelin Confectionary cart to pick up your yummy goodies stretch it Fold It squeeze it twist it no it's not a game of bopet it's the cutest slime ever it's called Kawaii slime and it's coming to a cart this fall at the downtown Disney District Kawaii of course means cute in Japanese and this company puts cute into everything they do this mom owned business brings an imaginative array of SL Li concoctions and toys in a multitude of different textures colors scents and glittery mixins for kids and kids at heart to play with over and over again Disney also shared more juicy details on two new restaurant Concepts a steakhouse and a barbecue eatery that are in the works for the downtown Disney district from Michelin star a chef Joe isidori the full service Steakhouse will have a warm and sophisticated Ambiance with a menu highlighting Prime cuts of beef chops fresh seafood sandwiches and chopped salads Urban connoisseurs and Mixology enthusiasts may enjoy an inventive selection of expertly crafted cocktails as well the adjacent barbecue spot will take a culinary approach to Quick Service offering traditional barbecue dishes such as pulled pork beef brisket and smoked wings that incorporate unique spices and housemade sauces a prominent outdoor bar will feature a wide selection of craft beers and a medley of moonshine cocktails Chef isador's most recent culinary successes include Arthur and Sons with locations in New York and the Hampton and jorro kitchen and tequila bar in Tampa Florida as previously mentioned these two eateries will be located on the footprint of what was tortilla Joe's and as previously shared an allnew Earl of Sandwich is being developed in the downtown Disney District in addition to a light and Airy Earl of Sandwich plan for the ground level the second floor will be home to an allnew table service concept called The carnaby Tavern The carnaby Tavern is being designed as a homage to The Swinging 60s British Invasion pop and bands from the UK the restaurant will feature a patio with an indooroutdoor full service bar the Earl's location on the east side of the district will close next year so construction May finally begin on Porto's Bakery um they said that'll also open next year but um we are we would assume if they're not starting until early next year they probably won't open till till uh near the end of the year so you have to wait a little bit longer uh for Portos than probably some of these other offerings in an Instagram real Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit Expands to Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Park Disneyland Resort announced that Pluto's pumpkin Pursuit will officially return on August 30th however unlike in previous years the game will not be restricted to downtown Disney this year the Hunt is on at both Disneyland park and California Adventure each of the three locations will have its own specific map as well after purchasing your map guests will search the park they're in looking for decorative pumpkins based on Disney characters and every time they find one they'll add a corresponding sticker to the map and once all the stickers have been placed guests can bring their completed map to one of the Redemption locations to obtain a prize guests however aren't required to finish all the uh they aren't required to find all the hidden pumpkins earn the prize you could just cash it in without doing it seems unfair but whatever prizes have not yet been announced last year they were Halloween candy bucket zipper cups uh the game can be played until November 1st so if you buy the map and want to come back and finish later you can do that those visiting Walt Disney World can once again participate in the game at epot for the absolute latest on these WIGS stories and all that didn't make it into Today's
