Aliyah Boston and Christie Sides speak to the media after practice

bow bow bow is just the energy okay that's just the energy and you bow bow bow and I really just run with it no that's I beat it is now cuz I've added it absolutely enery doing it coup timesame yeah I think it's just like it's just Good Vibes I mean when people hear it they like smile and then they try to get a little shoulder action Ino so it's it's pretty nice play making the last game and really the last couple a little more what have you kind of attributed that um I think just continue to make the right reads out of the short rle and um honestly you can't really get those assists without your teammates making shots so I think they're doing a great job just hitting their outside shots and making teams um have to play them a lot more how have you seen The Vibes of the team change throughout the yeah I think we've just grown a lot and I think that just like winning makes everything better um and I think just being able to continue to build that chemistry up um we've won some really big games we're in a good spot right now during our season so I think we're just excited to get on the court and play again theek behind that yeah um I went to South Carolina had to do some stuff and so I made a little pit stop coach sty I surprised the entire staff and some of the girls and so it's really nice cuz South Carolina's always home before we continue with Coach size you know shout out to AB taking a visit over to South Carolina going back to her Roots I think AB has grown so much even with the media man her media presence alone I definitely love what I'm seeing at of ab she's just growing into a professional athlete not saying she wasn't last year obviously she won Rookie of the Year here but uh just overall I love what I'm seeing from the start of this season to the to the middle of this season I guess you should say just for her being in shape just for her growing with the media her interviews everything like that um just a lovely lovely uh young young woman so I love AB got mad love for her and I love what she's doing this year yeah I mean they shot the heck out of the ball the other night against Vegas um Courtney Williams had an excellent game you know we didn't have car they didn't have carer when we played them the last time so that changes you know some some of the things they did against us last time we just have to be ready for it but you know she's going she's a great player she's going to you know get hers you just have to make sure someone else is that you know Courtney Williams is also good that'll make sure we keep her in cheek yeah it's challenging I wish we would have played you know already um but that's okay because we were able to get some good practice in for a really good Minnesota team um just want to keep that momentum that's all I keep talking about this whole this whole week is just use that as momentum um knowing that we still have a lot of work to do hasah been able to get you to do this shoulder po thing that she keeps doing I thought I was on the one the First videos I kind of hit it early I mean I'm not trying to be in the in the in the dancing videos with what does that take from a defensive perspective you anticipate putting two on her a lot how do you think that'll take yeah I think it's going to be some different matchups some different people taking an opportunity to guard her um changing up our schemes on her um just just trying to make it really difficult when she she when she catches the ball she's very dangerous when she catches in that hot post area mid post area she has that little Fade to the middle when she gets to the middle and Fades on you really tough so just trying to change it up far make her catch it where she's not as comfortable pass playmaking she just talked about her should improvements how have you seen that improve for her and what kind of a Catal yeah you know last year when she got here I was really you know I think we were all really impressed with the uh her ability to pass the basketball um it's just gotten better now you know with Caitlyn handling and and them two in picking rolles um with the amount of you know the attention that those guys um that take on from everybody else ab's done a great job of seeing the open we do also do a great job of like showing these guys like how teams are going to play them where those opportunities are going to be and where to look aiyah always seems to be like you know a positive person how does her positivity personality just affect the team oh gosh I mean you know from the time she's she stepped foot here with us I mean she's just a a solid present a great leader um always positive wants to win more than anything and I mean those are the kind of players that we want here um across the board there's been lots of talks of the team in these last games how do you think grown as a the beginning of the season now especially you at the come yeah I think for myself um it was more about the that first part of the Season where we took so many um so so many hits early and you just had to really figure out like who I was as as a coach how I was going to it was all about trying to get these guys to show back up and keep the same positive effort and energy every day and um that was my focus I have a great group of Staff um that was doing the same thing they do they're great at what their their specialty is so they're able to focus on that um but yeah also being able to spend time with my staff not in a gym um off the court outside of the office um it's it's just good for for just team just the chemistry of everybody and we always talk about Christy sides in chemistry well not always but recently as of late since the Olympic break All-Star break whatever you want to call it but one thing you know I've been saying is that is probably going to be one of the biggest differences or or changes to this team is the chemistry that they were able to build over the allstar break I keep saying it in every almost every video I've done in the past two weeks about Chrissy sides uh what she did and the team events and the small little things that they did as a team very important as as a organization as a team like think about it some of the best travel ball teams back then if you play baseball whatever the case is or best seven on S football teams or best AA basketball teams these guys have played together for years from like 7 years old to like 15 years old they've been a unit it together they have chemistry they know even if they don't go to the same high school they know each other they they got each other on social media they go out with each other they sleep over each other's houses one of each you know one parent takes three four kids in the same car to an event or to a Arena you know they they they get the time to build the the the team chemistry and the bonding that right there will jel a team alone so I keep telling you guys this was the number one thing they could have did as an organization was get everyone together I don't know if you guys follow them on social media but the social media team is killing it on Instagram they're killing it on YouTube they are killing it on Twitter they're getting everybody involved the coaches are dripped out and Nike everybody's looking great everybody's feeling good me I mean cameras are on you constantly so being around Caitlyn Clark you know it's got all of this and at the beginning it probably just seemed like Caitlyn Clark but now I can see the media is getting everyone involved so how do you think everyone is feeling everyone's like oh man I'm excited I'm I'm all over social media I'm getting Instagram followers I'm I'm I'm hype Lexi Hall's probably grew 50,000 subscrib I mean followers in three four five days you know what I'm saying so these girls are excited they they're they're happy to come to to uh to practice to work for them and uh you know and for Caitlyn they want to be around Caitlyn they want to support her they want to help this team win so I'm telling you this is going to be a problem they got a huge huge game tomorrow with the links definitely excited for that you know uh the the environment is going to be crazy I believe they're doing um a ceremony before the game and I'll be tuned in I'm not sure if I'm going to go live but I'm definitely going to be tuned in so I love what they're doing they also F focused on defense and that was the main focus for them as you can see the intensity on the defensive side has helped them beat two top five teams in this in this league so definitely love what I'm seeing you know they're right there in the seventh seed they got I think one or two more games and they can push to the sixth seed and we'll see man it's going to be a tough tough fight but I think for them I think they have 12 games left I think they could finish off with eight nine wins you know they got a couple big games they got the aces they got the links I think they got the Suns one more time and if they could beat those three teams you know that's going to show me a good sign for the playoffs so definitely like what I'm seeing you got to give her flowers to coach Ides she's definitely got a a good amount of wins this year compared to her season last year you know they're pretty much 13 and 15 right now and last year they finished 13 and 27 so you know she's doing something right obviously you know she got to she got to let the young point guard go and and run the floor and run the pace and contribute and and and let the team play around Caitlyn you know and I think that's what we've been seen the past two games so if we can continue to see that I got high expectations for this team right here so there you have it we got Aaliyah
