A FORT WORTH RESIDENT WHO ONLY WANTS TO GO BY C K SHARED THIS CELL PHONE VIDEO SHE RECORDED AT THE HEIGHT OF MONDAY'S RUPTURED WATER MAIN CHAOS IN EAST FORT WORTH FOR A LIVING. YOU KNOW, I'M AN EDUCATOR RIGHT NOW. I NEED TO BE WITH MY STUDENTS, AND I CAN'T BECAUSE I'M HANDLING THIS C K DOES NOT WANT HER FACE SHOWN, BUT DESCRIBES A FRUSTRATING SITUATION DEALING WITH WATER DAMAGE INSIDE HER HOME, HAVING TO REMOVE SALVAGED CONTENTS AND RELOCATE. RIGHT NOW WE'RE HAVING TO PACK EVERYTHING IN THE HOUSE. THE RESTORATION PEOPLE THEY'RE HAVING TO PACK UP ALL THE FURNITURE AND EVERYTHING. GET THAT ALL MOVED OUT. THEY'VE TORN UP THE BASEBOARDS SO THEY CAN START, YOU KNOW, WORKING ON DRYING OUT THE INNER WALLS. CITY WATER DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS SAY A CONTRACTOR DOING WORK FOR A TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMPANY STRUCK A 33 INCH PIPE THAT SUPPLIES WATER TO THE CITY OF HERST. IT'S A 33 INCH LINE, AND IT WAS UNDER ABOUT 90 POUNDS OF PRESSURE WITH A HOLE IN THE PIPE. SO THE WATER WAS COMING OUT FROM UNDER THAT PRESSURE. HERST CITY OFFICIALS SAY MINIMAL IMPACT TO ITS RESIDENTS INCLUDED LOW WATER PRESSURE FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. FORT WORTH OFFICIALS SAY THE LINE IS NOW REPAIRED, HOWEVER, SITE RESTORATION WORK WILL GO ON UNTIL WEDNESDAY. COMMUNICATION BETWEEN FORT WORTH AND AFFECTED HOMEOWNERS LIKE KAY IS NOW THE FOCUS IN THE EFFORT TO DEAL WITH THE DAMAGE LEFT BEHIND. THE CITY HAS BEEN PROVIDED THE INSURANCE INFORMATION FROM THAT CONTRACTOR. WE'VE PROVIDED THAT TO OUR RISK MANAGEMENT GROUP IN THE CITY AND THAT'S WHO THESE CUSTOMERS WILL ACTUALLY BE DEALING WITH NOW. I CAN'T WAIT FOR MY HOUSE TO START ROTTING AND MOLDING AND HAVING ACCUMULATION TO WHERE IT'S NOT EVEN LIVABLE AT THAT POINT. THEN I MIGHT AS WELL JUST BUY ANOTHER HOUSE. NOW, ABOUT FIVE HOMEOWNERS ARE DEALING WITH SIGNIFICANT WATER DAMAGE TO THEIR HOMES, AND AS YOU HEARD, THE CITY IS SAYING THAT THE CONTRACTOR'S INSURANCE PROVIDER WILL HAVE TO COMPENSATE FOR THOSE EXPENSES.
