PlayStation 5 Pro REVEALED - New Console Specs and Features

Introduction so the rumors have finally been confirmed and it's on the way time to give my thoughts on it to see how it's going to hold up hello ladies and gentlemen welcome back to another video yesterday we ended up getting a presentation from PlayStation in regards to what is next in the lineup of the PlayStation 5 and Mark cery he ended up revealing the PlayStation 5 Pro there have been so many rumors that we were going to be getting a pro version of the PlayStation 5 at some point but we weren't sure as to exactly when that is but thankfully after that technical presentation that we saw yesterday we finally got news in regards to the pro version of the PS5 to see how much of an improvement it is over the original PlayStation 5 and when we can get our hands on it so without further Ado let's look into it this right here is the PlayStation Blog PlayStation 5 Pro it looks pretty neat I will say although I did notice that on this side here it doesn't have a disc drive which I will get into in a bit we developed the PlayStation 5 Pro with deeply engaged players and game creators in mind as many have asked for a console that runs even higher Fidelity graphics with smoother frame rates at 60 frames per second we achieved this on PS5 Pro with several key performance features let's check this out an upgraded GPU with the PlayStation 5 Pro we are upgrading to into a GPU that has 67% more compute units than the current PlayStation 5 console and 28% faster memory overall this enables up to 45% faster rendering for gameplay making the experience much smoother Advanced rate tracing we've added even more powerful rate tracing that provides more Dynamic Reflections and refraction of light this allows the ray to be cast at Double and at times triple the speeds of the current PlayStation 5 console AI driven upscaling we're also introducing PlayStation spectral super resolution pssr for short an AI driven upscaling that uses a machine learning based technology to provide super sharp image Clarity by adding an extraordinary amount of detail so with the upgraded GPU while the original PlayStation 5 did a very good job at being able to render assets within the open world of a specific video game as quickly as it did the fact that the PS5 Pro is going to have an even more powerful GPU therefore making the render times a lot more faster and a lot more sufficient for any video game that you play is going to be really really good and as far as advanced raid tracing goes for those who have played video games that do offer some sort of a performance mode or Fidelity mode in Fidelity mode you are able to see Ray Trace Reflections be presented in the best way possible for example Marvel Spider-Man 2 it is a game that definitely does a very good job at presenting R Trace Reflections and shadows to the best of its ability Insomniac did a very good job at doing so when utilizing the capabilities of the original PlayStation 5 and on the PS4 Pro it looks as if Ray Trace Reflections and shadows and all the other stuff is going to be so much even better from the looks of it and as far as AI driven upscaling goes let's say you were playing on like a 4K HDR TV you were playing your video games on there if you happen to like go into your TV and you zoomed in you would notice that there's like specific dots or pixels and such that doesn't make the image a lot more clearer for you to see but with the usage of this specific technology it's going to eliminate that therefore it's going to make the image a bit more clearer for you to see if you were to zoom in up close to your television or your monitor other enhancements include PlayStation 5 Pro game game boost which can apply to more than 8,500 backwards compatible PS4 games playable on PlayStation 5 Pro this feature may stabilize or improve the performance of supported PS4 and PS5 games enhanced image quality for PS4 games is also available to improve the resolution on select PS4 titles PS5 Pro will also launch with the latest Wireless technology WiFi 7 in territory supporting the state standard vrr and 88k gaming are also supported now Mark cery did mention that there will be games that will eventually receive updates to take advantage of the hardware capabilities that the PlayStation 5 Pro will offer those games being Allen wake 2 Assassin's Creed Shadows Demon Souls Dragon's Dogma 2 Final Fantasy 7 rebirth Grant Turismo 7 Hogwarts Legacy Horizon forbidden West Marvel Spider-Man two Ratchet and Clank Rift apart the crew motorfest the first descendant The Last of Us Part Two remastered and more I will admit like PS5 Pro Screenshots this is a pretty good looking design I really do it's just I don't like the fact that there's no disc drive here but as you can see right here they completely removed the disc drive however you are going to be able to attach a disc drive to the PlayStation 5 Pro it's just you are going to have to pay $80 more in order to do so and as you can see right here we do have the detachable disc drive that you will be able to attach to your PS5 Pro but if you want to get a hold of the specific disc drive you are going to have to pay about $80 in order to pull this off on the left here we got the PlayStation 5 Pro and on the right we have the PlayStation 5 Slim So as you can see the PS5 slim it definitely still comes with its integrated disc drive but the PS5 Pro does not now we did end up getting Price Point informed of what the price point would be to a acquired the PlayStation 5 Pro and there was a lot of divisiveness in regards to this decision the PS5 Pro console will be available this holiday at a manufacturer suggested retail price MSRP of $699.99 USD it will include a 2 tbte SSD a dual sense wireless controller and a copy of Astro's playroom pre-installed in every PS5 Pro purchase the PS5 Pro is available as a dis L console with the option to purchase the current available disc drive for PS5 separately the PS5 Pro will launch on November 7th of this year and it will be available at participating retailers and directly from PlayStation at direct. playstation.com pre-orders will begin on September 26th 2024 now they did make a mistake in announcing it in the sense that they didn't provide some context or Clarity in regards to when people will actually be able to pre-order so they updated their statement by saying on September 26th 2024 preorders will be available directly from PlayStation at direct. playstation.com and at participating retailers in territories where direct. playstation.com isn't available and on October 10th 2024 pre-orders will be available at all other participating retailers if you guys want to check out this article for yourselves I'll provide a link to it down to the description so you guys can go and check it out for yourselves now Technical Presentation some of yall are probably wondering well how are these games really going to take advantage of the hardware capabilities of the PlayStation 5 Pro like did we get a technical demo of some sort surprisingly enough we did and it was showcased in this technical presentation that Mark cery did yesterday so this was what I meant when I was talking about AI driven upscaling when you're zooming in on like your game monitor or your television screen you'll notice that the image it looks somewhat like this but thanks to the PlayStation 5 Pro and its AI driven upscaling it's going to alleviate this to give you a more clearer image on whichever game that you're playing so here we have a technical demo of how specific PlayStation 5 titles will be running on the PlayStation 5 Pro and in this example we got The Last of Us Part Two remastered I believe the Last of Us Part two running on PS5 Pro it has huge amounts of detail and targets a super smooth 60 frames per second let's compare this to the Fidelity mode on PS5 which is only running at 30 frames per second and is therefore much choppier don't stop we got to this goal of delivering almost Fidelity like Graphics at performance frame rates has been achieved for a broad set of times including Marvel Spider-Man 2 and Ratchet and Clank Rift apart we can see that PS5 Pro is is close to doubling the power of PlayStation 5 another way to compare the two consoles is to look at PS5 Pro versus performance mode on PS5 both of which Target 60 frames per second what we see here is a difference in detail PS5 Pro is much sharper and crisper than PS5 for this my favorite is the parade scene from ratet and Clank distant details are much clearer and here we can see Marvel Spider-Man 2 is noticeably higher resolution throughout the scene I can definitely see that there's less Clarity off in the distance when you're playing on performance mode on the original PS5 whereas on the pro there is more clarity when you're playing on performance mode on the PS5 Pro you can see right here on this card you can see the r Trace Reflections and honestly dude it looks pretty good I it's not breathtaking or mindblowing or anything like that but it definitely looks really good especially since this is pretty much running on the PS5 Pro if you guys want to check out the technical presentation for yourselves I will provide a link to that down in the description as well so you guys can go and see it for yourselves so allow me to give my two cents on this originally when I saw the price of what the PlayStation 5 Pro was going to be I was like thinking to myself you're charging $700 for a pro version of a console that doesn't have a dis Drive in which you're going to have to pay a little more money Thoughts on the Reveal in order to complete the build of the console bro now I didn't think too much into it because I hadn't seen the technical demos of the games that were running on the PS5 Pro but then when I finally saw it I then realized that there is somewhat of a difference that you see with the games that are running on that specific console I mean if you look back as to how PS4 games were running on the PlayStation 4 Pro when that version of the console got revealed back then it was hard for people to see the difference in performance and Fidelity on the PlayStation 4 Pro in comparison to the original PlayStation 4 it was hard for people to see it but once they saw the technical demos of games that were running on the PS4 Pro they eventually realized okay there's definitely some difference in performance as to how these games perform on the pro version of the console I do see the perspective that a lot of people think that that is way too much money to spend on a game console especially when you hearken back to when the original PlayStation 3 released I remember back when the original PlayStation 3 released PlayStation was charging the consumers $600 to get a hold of that console back then and then as the years went by the price decreased by like a couple hundred ever since the Inception of the console so when you look back at how that turned out back in the day you can't help but think to yourself that might actually happen with the PlayStation 5 Pro especially with how old the console might get as the years go by another thing that I alluded to earlier was that you have to pay $700 for a game console that doesn't have a dis Drive therefore if you do want to get a disc drive you are going to have to cough up another $80 to get a hold of a disc drive that you can attach on your PS5 Pro so in a way you're pretty much spending almost $800 to complete your console set setup now I am well aware that where our economy is today we are starting to phase out the distribution of physical media and are more leaning into the distribution of digital media therefore creating a digital ecosystem overall I am well aware that that's pretty much the case nowadays but as somebody who still believes in preserving physical media as I'm sure a lot of other people do even though they represent a minority of the population I still think it would have been cool if plac still Incorporated a disc drive into their model of the PS5 Pro for me personally it just sucks to know that if I want to have a disc drive on my PlayStation 5 Pro I am going to have to spend even more money in order to do such a thing it it just really sucks if you ask me now I also see the perspective where a lot of people have made the claim that like there are people who spent a couple thousand dollars to put together a gaming PC of their preference but they have a problem with spending $700 on a game console like what the as much as I don't want to admit it those people do got a point like for me personally I know I had to spend less than $2,000 to put together my PC build for me to be able to use on a daily basis so if I was able to spend that much money to get a hold of my PC that I could definitely spend that much to get a hold of a PS5 Pro basically what I'm trying to say is this I do understand the perspective where a lot of people are saying that $700 for a game console is way too expensive for people to spend their money on however if you are able to spend a couple thousand doll and save that money up to get a hold of your preferred gaming PC you can definitely do the same in getting a hold of a PlayStation 5 Pro so long as you take a good portion of your money and you save it and then you build that up over time you can definitely afford a PS5 or a PS5 Pro you definitely can just like everybody else can again it's all about whether or not you're willing to save up enough money to do so I also do want to point out this perspective as I did notice other people bring this up too I am well aware that there isn't enough video games that are taking advantage of the hardware capabilities of the PlayStation 5 hence why a lot of people are so hesitant to get a hold of a PS5 5 Pro because the developers they might not even take advantage of the hardware capabilities of the pro version of that console too so the consumer can't help but Wonder exactly well if I'm not getting the best of the best on the pro version because the devs are not taking advantage of what the hardware can do for these games why else would I purchase this console all in all I just think that if you are somebody who is able to spend a couple thousand putting together the best PC bill that you could possibly put together you could definitely save up enough money to get a hold of a PS5 Pro is the PS5 Pro the most expensive console that there is currently yes I will admit that but at the same time the same can be said for either your PC build or your Xbox series X with the additional components and accessories that you decided to add onto your console build only time will tell until we see if whether or not these developers are going to take advantage of the hardware capabilities of the PlayStation 5 Pro but as far as whether or not I am going to get it I'm still thinking about it I haven't decided on whether or not I truly want to but it is something that I'm definitely going to consider as time goes by but I want to know from you guys what do you make of the
