BEGINS WITH BREAKING NEWS. THAT BREAKING NEWS. POLICE ARE CALLED TO PITTSBURGH, CARMALT, PRE-K THROUGH EIGHT IN THE CITY'S BROOKLINE NEIGHBORHOOD FOLLOWING REPORTS OF AN UNKNOWN MAN INSIDE THE BUILDING. SKY 4. PITTSBURGH'S ONLY NEWS CHOPPER OVER THAT SCENE. AND THAT'S WHERE WE FIND PITTSBURGH'S ACTION NEWS FOUR REPORTER MARCI CIPRIANI. SHE'S JOINING US LIVE WITH SOME UP TO THE MINUTE INFORMATION. MARCI, WHAT ARE YOU LEARNING. WELL, WE ARE LEARNING THAT POLICE ARE CLEARING THIS BUILDING. IN FACT, I WANT YOU TO TAKE A LOOK BEHIND ME. YOU SEE THESE SCHOOL BUSSES PULLING UP HERE? THESE ARE THE BUSSES THAT I AM TOLD WILL BE EVACUATING THE CHILDREN. IN FACT, YOU CAN SEE THERE ARE CHILDREN NOW ON BOARD. THIS IS THE FIRST THEY HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LEAVE THEIR SCHOOL SINCE THE LOCKDOWN WAS CALLED SHORTLY BEFORE 10:00 THIS MORNING. NOW THAT LOCKDOWN, ACCORDING TO OFFICIALS, CAME IN WHEN A STAFF MEMBER CALLED POLICE SAYING THAT AN UNKNOWN MALE WAS INSIDE THE BUILDING. THE SCHOOL WENT COMPLETELY ON LOCKDOWN. THAT'S WHEN PARENTS GOT AN ALERT. MANY OF THEM, AS YOU CAN SEE, RACED HERE TO THE SCENE. YOU CAN SEE A LARGE POLICE PRESENCE STILL HERE AS WELL. WE HAD A CHANCE TO TALK WITH SOME OF THOSE PARENTS WHO WERE HERE, WAITING OUTSIDE FOR THEIR CHILDREN. TAKE A LISTEN. WE'RE HERE, YOU KNOW, TO PICK OUR GRANDSON UP. BUT THE REST OF THE PEOPLE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE GOING TO DO. YOU KNOW, IF THEY'RE WORKING JUST BEEN PRAYING A LOT THAT EVERYTHING'S OKAY WITH ALL THE OTHER STUFF GOING ON. SO I'VE JUST BEEN PRAYING. SO AS YOU CAN SEE HERE AT THE SCENE, THOSE FAMILY MEMBERS DID SHOW UP HERE SHORTLY AFTER IN A PANIC. THEY TELL ME THEY WERE TOLD NOTT TO COME TO THE SCENE, BUT THEY REALLY COULDN'T NOT BE HERE. WE HAVE SEEN POLICE HEADING INSIDE, CLEARING THE BUILDING, WHICH ACCORDING TO THE CHIEF, HAS NOW HAPPENED. BUT OFFICIALS DO REMAIN HERE ON THE SCENE, MAKING SURE ALL OF THE CHILDREN COME OUT SAFELY AND THE PARENTS REMAIN HERE AS WELL. THIS IS WHAT THE PITTSBURGH POLICE CHIEF HAD TO SAY JUST A SHORT TIME AGO. THEY HAVE CLEARED THE FACILITY. THERE HAS NOT. AND THEY DON'T BELIEVE THE ACTOR OR THE SUBJECT EVER MADE IT INSIDE THE SCHOOL, BUT OUT OF A MANNER OF PRECAUTION IN ANY OF OUR SCHOOLS, WE TREAT THEM AS AS RELIABLE, VALID THREATS UNTIL PROVEN OTHERWISE. AND OF COURSE, AS I MENTIONED, THAT WAS CERTAINLY PANICKY TO PARENTS. YOU CAN SEE MANY OF THEM STILL GATHERED HERE, MANY OF THEM VERY UPSET AT THIS POINT. BUT THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. AS I SHOWED YOU JUST A LITTLE BIT AGO, THOSE STUDENTS WENT ON A BUS. THEY ARE TAKEN ON A BUS. THEY'RE HEADING TO THE BROOKLINE RECREATION CENTER. THAT'S WHERE SCHOOL OFFICIALS AND OFFICIALS FROM THE PITTSBURGH POLICE SAY PARENTS WILL BE MET WITH THEIR CHILDREN. THAT'S WHERE YOU NEED TO GO IF YOU WANT TO PICK UP YOUR KIDS.. NOT HERE. THEY'RE NOT GOING TO BE RELEASED HERE, BUT THEY ARE HEADED NOW. CLASS BY CLASS, BEING EVACUATED ONTO THOSE BUSSES, HEADED OVER TO THE BROOKLINE RECREATION CENTER. YOU CAN SEE POLICE STILL HERE. YOU CAN SEE SCHOOL POLICE BEHIND ME. THIS IS WHERE THOSE KIDS ARE BEING LOADED UP. AND AGAIN, IF YOU ARE A PARENT, THERE IS NO REASON POLICE SAY TO COME HERE TO THE SCENE. YOUR CHILDREN WILL BE AT THE BROOKLINE RECREATION CENTER, AND THAT'S WHERE YOU'LL BE ABLE TO PICK THEM UP SHORTLY.
