Dodgers Pregame: Dave Roberts huge update on Teoscar Hernández, Tyler Glasnow bullpen & more

we spoke with choser earlier and he said that SM stting to go down a little bit and he feels like you know he watched something or I guess by it could be really terrible just how much of a relief was it for you just hearing the news that was so structural damage in his foot uh very relief um obviously if it was a fracture that was probably going to be the end of the season for him and uh would a huge loss um but with the Imaging that we received information we received um we feel good about the dayto day and uh you know getting them back sometime early next week so um I hope it just continues to uh get better each day while he heals how do you kind of see left he just playing out until he's back and ready um yeah I I I don't quite know yet um obviously I've got Andy in there uh tonight and um you know I'll kind of figure out tomorrow in the forthcoming days um you know there's a little bit of um want to give Andy a little bit of opportunity there's a little bit of trying to you know see if uh CT and KK can take advantage of an opportunity so um I haven't made that decision yeah did the scans kind of clear up concern that night linger also just the Pain part of it that it's minor they did they did because I think a lot of times the x-rays alone just don't capture everything and then so to get the CT we got even more information so yeah we feel really confident how was glass no's Bullpen and next step for him so uh the bullpen went really well um fastball only but it was 15 to 20 pitches came out of it pretty excited um so my expectation is there's going to be another aggressive pen here um probably Tuesday probably makes sense where he's going to use his a pitch mix and then at that point in time we could talk about a Sim game or something like that grad roll on his way the situation grad roll is on his way um through the baseball well the other night and uh on his way and we'll see about activation tomorrow or potentially Monday just kind of depending on where the pen is at with Tyler can he come back at the three and little or you guys want him back as full I I don't think yeah one I I I think um you know just looking at the calendar there's only a few opportunities so um we might be in that situation where it's three or four Innings um you know just with opportunity so I just don't know uh anyone can answer that question right now but you know you sort of have to take what you can get at this point in time if he's healthy and try I just go from there how much of a drag would that be on the bullpen though to have both him and Yoto still building up uh it would be tough it would be tough but it's it's honestly it's nothing we haven't done all year so it's uh you know if that's the case and we'll figure it out what does kers have kind of show you guys get on he keeps getting his arm he he's keeping his arm U moving which is good but he still got to be able to really use his back side um to have the stuff play up and to be good um because if he's not able to do what he's what he needs to do and not be good it just doesn't matter anyway so it's it's got to heal up the swellings got to subside and then he's got to get off a mound and see that the stuff is is playing how much is like this still bother this one it's still bother bothering them yeah but it's not as tender as it as it was in Arizona but it's still bother is the plan today still for Justin rusy to come out of um the Bolton behind Ryan grer and take down both the Innings um he's in the pen and um he'll pitch when the phone rings for his name to be called but I don't know when that is or or how long that's going to be um you know for me I'm just looking at who's available tonight and it doesn't need to be adjusted and taken down the bul it could be but uh you know we're going to do whatever we can to win this game is this a role that you're I guess trying to kind of prepare him for just in case there's potential opportunity for him down the line in a situation like this um I think it's good for him to uh to to do this role um certainly we VI him as a starter um but you know to be able to come out of the pen uh to get some outs CH some Innings if if if needed I think that's good for his grow um so I don't think there's any downside to that um but obviously with this year with obviously all the things that have kind of transpired I don't think anyone can say what role um you know he's going to be locked into so this is again this just a good opportunity for him did Back to Clayton does he have to stay off of his foot or what's sort of the process for now um he I know he's not obviously able to run and do the stuff he did did does typically uh in between starts um I wouldn't say stay off of his foot I haven't seen the walking boot but I hear he's in a walking boot at times um so I just think it's minimal activity and he's trying to kind of do some things and keeping his arm moving but uh right now it's pretty minimal did you get any reports on y's pin uh it was good um I I didn't hear specifics um so I think that's a good thing and um you know our expectation still is he's going to start on Tuesday thanks guys thanks
