Steelers News and Update: Cameron Johnston Out | Sign Corliss Waitman and Terrell Edmunds

good morning still Nation or good afternoon still Nation for you guys out there in America is your Victory Monday my I don't know happy Tuesday or Victory Tuesday uh the still is a one and0 but with with some good there's a lot of bad at the same time the steel has got to make moves what I do want to wish uh Cameron Johnson really well so I woke up this morning and I know um my good M DB covered already from Steelers Syndicate but Ian report says Steelers Punch Out Cameron Johnson suffered a season ending knee injury in Sunday's win over the Falcons sources say a blow to uh to Pittsburgh special teams in more ways in one Johnson was also the holder for Chris Boswell right so first of all uh that sucks um I've reached out to him on Twitter I left him a good message to hope hopefully he can get well but I think that was one signing this year that every single Steelers Nation fan member around the world doesn't matter where you are we all all kind of agreed it was a very good signing in fact it was like three years he's coming from the Texans veteran punter big leg um we have with with Cameron Johnson's leg you need the Gunners to run right down there like in the pre in the it almost feel like sometimes in the preseason games he was outkicking his coverage um in that sense like he has a massive leg so you can all all pretty much uh speak for the whole world collectively and go when he went down you're like man that sucks so we kind of wish him well cuz when you saw that if you going back and watch it his leg kind of bends in inwards um and it shouldn't bend that way and and I don't know looking back at the film now I don't know if it was a flag for roughing into the kicker um you watch it a few times and killer brw does kind of hold and throw so it's a football play it happens it's a mistake um I'm sure kibu and and the players are like all you know sending him um good messages and wishing well but it does suck for the season and it doesn't mean it doesn't mean that our Steelers season is over but he was a vital piece to our teams and a really good punter um and I was looking forward as him having a really good year and pinning back the defense or the teams and then then our defense goes down there and wrecks uh by the way with yesterday's defensive performance if not like one of the best in the last few years holding the to 10 points TJ watt swim move getting flagged like that TD wouldn't exist if if there was no flag there which the which I talked about yes last night that they got the call wrong when TJ wart ran over the side they threw a flag they now apologized you we could the Steelers could have held the Falcons to three points and in the second half they didn't even allow him like the passing game was like 10 yards something like that jpj was shutting down guys and anyways I'm off a bit track I'll cover that kind of stuff later on today's live in the next hour or so I'll go live on this channel we're going to talk about the division talk about the game uh talk about all things Steelers football but one big shout out to Cameron Johnston suffering a season ending injury so uh you know hope you get well mate hope it all goes with recovery goes fine um sit back rest up relax and you can watch our Steelers and you can come back in uh next year in 2025 but to replace that guy now Omar Khan Works fast and you really at this point when someone goes down like that in a very very uh key position you have to work fast so the Steelers have signed uh this Boke bringing him back to the practice squad so callus waitman Steelers ass signed punter I believe he was like with Denver for a year or two or something like that maybe on on their practice squad says here Steelers a sign of punter course waitman waitman was someone on the team who's familiar with um the Steelers originally signed him as under free agent after the 202 draft he spent time on the practice squad in 2020 he was signed to reserve future contract uh so that time I think we still had Jordan Barry uh possibly we had Jordan Barry waitman was released by the Steelers after 21 draft returned back that uh that that year on December 24th my birthday um did pting duties two days later so he's been around he's been around the Steelers practice squad I think he's played a few games here and there um and if if I'm not mistaken I believe that he played for Denver as well so that's going to be interesting um now the Steelers have to go with him the whole year so can we at least get not bad punting just average to good punting no mistakes pin them deep you know I don't know high high punt time or whatever it may be because it's going to be hard to fill the shoes I think of Cameron Johnston but just be average to good and I wish him more luck because I think he's now uh with this opportunity cois waitman is now playing uh for a team next year right he's playing for a team next year come in we know the job's going to go back to Johnson when Once he's healthy and fit but callus waitman I wish you all luck um go out there and punt it you've got Christian 46 with you you got Chris Boswell your other punter Chris Boswell still outsanding by the way uh six field goals and I'll talk about this on live more but I have seen a lot of fans saying oh we we should have scored touchdowns six field goals is two touchdowns they went they went down the field and they scored uh they drove in the field six times to get field goals and Mike tomman trusts his kicker enough right A lot of people give Mike Toman a lot of slack but Mike tomman trusts Boswell enough to go you know what Boswell go out there get us get us three points I don't think it's that big of a deal I I'll talk about that more in the live right yes a touchdown is six but a field goal is half of that that's 50% you do six of those that's 18 points Chris Boswell goes down and gets another one that's 21 points that's three touchdowns there's nothing wrong now maybe not every game can you do it not every game can you go down and score field goals but it's how the game played out I'm okay I will talk about this my life because I'm getting sick of this fantasy image around football in terms of players have to have 300 yards 340 this XY Z I'm getting sick of it yesterday's game was a really fun physical game but I will talk about that in my life squad now this is a this is still to me it's a rumor but it looks like it's going to happen because we had yesterday uh trell Edmond's account had the eye emojis I haven't got the picture here but he has the eye emojis and then everyone else is speculating that he signed back now here's the idea here too so Terrell ebans he's signing off the practice squad which means when you sign off the practice squad you will have to go on to the 53 and I even think there's a rule where you need to start like you need to at least be given a hat three or four weeks in a row so that tells me are the Steelers looking to get rid of the other Elliott not not um there's two Elliots on the team and I always get them mixed up not the safety that play played Crazy which was the Sha Elli sa our super uh super safety um it could be jayen Elliott I feel like he might be cut nothing against jayen Elliott but he might be cut unless there's a roster spot there then um welcome back to to to to the program welcome back to to your defense with Minka and and it's another another safety depth piece that can rotate around this defense in our secondary is going wild uh yesterday we had deson Elliot get a get a a pick you had Dante Jackson a lot of fans I think were a bit like oh what's going to with Dante Jackson why would try why would you away Deontay Johnson deont Johnson had a nothing game out in the Panthers his career is now going to be like oh you got Bry young throwing you to football and the Panthers are going backwards there they got beat up yesterday don't really care about that uh Dante Jackson he got a pick and so did Deshawn Elliott and Don Dante Jackson run it back for 50 yards so the rumor is that Terrell Edmond is signing back with the Steelers from The Jaguars practice squad which means if he's from their practice squad so you you grab it from theirs you can't sign from one practice squad and land on the other otherwise you'd have players going everywhere I'm pretty sure I'm I'm 99.99% positive that when you go from one practice squad you sign them off the practice squad whoever it may be you have to then join the 53 then once you join the 53 at that same time you need to wear a hat like you know when they have like eligible players from the from the 53 down to 47 or what it may be you need to wear that hat at least like 3 or 4 weeks in a row so Steelers have a plan to get Terrell edmans involved in the game now could that be could that be in teams could that be um rotating around in that in that three safety set could it be where he plays you know physical football and comes down and and hits a running back I don't know I'm excited he's back because I don't think that the terms haven't been released in the money terms but it's probably like a vet deal or something like that it's probably a vet deal former first round pick with us a few years ago he knows system he knows the organization he knows the players here he's back with TJ Minka cam all those guys he's back with the Steels Brotherhood in this defense I know there are some really people there's some people out there thinking oh we can't win games we can't do this this defense is going to make the steals relevant this feels freaking awesome the fact that Payton Wilson is having a crack k Benn is having a crack um mon Travis Adams had his sack with Cameron Haywood and TJ watt is wreck and havoc on the outside even heith had had a good game like this defense is forcing the passers to go into the secondary and get picked off we got three turnovers yesterday three turnovers and we're more worried about the points on the offense three turnovers in a short field means we can go and get field goals cheap and easy points you got Chris Boswell who can nail him down the middle like team team-wise they're doing I think it's a very good team win anyways I will talk about that shortly uh so the big news was Edmunds is apparently signing back to the Steelers as a rumor looks like that will be true uh thoughts and prayers to to Johnson so he gets better um he suffered his season ending injury on his knee so wish you all mate all the best and to replace uh Johnson in a fast moving business we have signed the steel has signed uh callus waitman as their punter for this coming up you know next 16 games it's a long way to go Ste a start one and0 but in about 1 hour's time I'll talk more and more and more about all the stuff going on and I really want to hop on if you made this far I want to hop on this idea this image around fantasy football which is not there's there's players out there um you know playing real life football and I'm not worried about getting 400 yards or getting this this and this if you win the game 1810 you win the game 1810 you walk off
