Gordon and it's embiid in at the five Roman the paint and what a matchup we have here in the front Court gr yeah each of these teams are anchored by their big men I think it's going to be physical and highly intensified rle against Maxi pass to embiid over Davis and there's mbid that's good on the assist by Maxi embiid's got the opening basket of the game for Philadelphia LeBron passes to Reeves and they call the foul so a chance at the line for one more coming up weight room muscle on display there James even when he gets hit he can still score you know it's inevitable that a player's physical abilities diminish over the course of a career but the thing that stands out to me about LeBron James is that he never lost his insatiable drive to win guys of anything he's gotten stronger [Applause] James no good on the free throw and LeBron the only player to reach 40,000 points in his career Clark you're shaking your head it's incredible isn't it absolutely remarkable Kevin and I did not think I would see it in my lifetime 40,000 points just the sound of that is ridiculous and you know he not only has lived up to the height that has followed him since he was 15 years old he's actually exceeded it Kevin which is crazy yep that one goes and I tell you what ad is able to brush off those Defenders with ease because of how strong he is that's what they call weight room now the layup when Drummond's points come they tend to come inside he's got a lot of ways to beat you down low for Los Angeles they've gotten six or seven shots to fall in the first quarter they're off in it four and he buries that one drilling the rim on the way down pick works well there not much resistance from the deep yeah that's not the defense you need you got to be tougher defensively Davis with a screen on George James the bounce pass and stolen by Drummond George with the ball he's picked up by James George no good does not get much easier than that but somehow he came up empty there and they double up James pass to reeds and it's sent back by Drummond you got to be careful shooting around Drummond I mean he has a really good neck to when to go for the blocks and right now let's watch that terrific SWAT and that is a huge block given how close this game is a stop like that was right on point Martin he's checked in for the 76ers and then for Los Angeles Christy he's checked in excellent at the free throw line outside Maxi over Vincent well it's been a high-scoring competitive game through the first quarter of play Lakers on top they're up by three and we hope you're enjoying the game both teams tonight keeping things pretty even so far in the scoreboard and taking a look at Los Angeles's performance here what have they been doing or not doing well in that first quarter they were intent on just pounding the ball down low yeah and it's worked they've got a clear Edge and points in the paint now we'll see if they go with a more balanced attack or just keep on pounding it inside and Clark we know the last handful of years the 76ers have been a threat in the East seven straight years of playoff runs can't get past that second round barrier though Kevin but as far as success they've been as consistent as it comes in the East the last decade taking a look at Los Angeles down in the Block it's LeBron and Davis Christie is out there with Vincent and it's connect in at the small forward position James looking around and his handle might be an underrated part of James's game totally throwing off the defender with that move here's Lowry pass to Drummond back to Lowry and that one clearly a foul gets the whistle and two shots coming up and awards now have a minimum amount of games needed to qualify and interesting twist in this whole story yeah and and it seems logical because of the Uproar from the fans and the media that they implement this and and how can you be that impactful in reality though if you only play half the year free throw drops for Kyle Lowry look Kyle Lowry can never rely on being the bigger guy on the floor so he has to rely on his smarts in G and toughness instead he's a very very high IQ player and beid he's checked in for the 76ers redish he's checked in for the Lakers and so Lowry Nails both of them and you can never really count out these Los Angeles Lakers Greg can you no I I I really don't think you can they they battle out of the playin tournament they overcome obstacles and they have trouble tremendous willpower Davis against mid Davis the pass to Chris oh and that one no question powered it down seven-point Los Angeles lead nice play and you can see they're Gathering momentum you know they need to stay aggressive here build the lead up while they've got the chance don't waste this opportunity Clark we know what a great player Joel embiid is he was the 2023 MVP and he was on that same road until he got injured last season unfortunate to see the big fella MB deal with the injuries that he has throughout his career even going back to his one year in college U it's unfortunate but that has hampered what is a special special talent in mbid well free throw drops for mbid and you know guys with EMB on the floor it's not just about his individual play he changes everything for everyone on that team that's how dominant he is it's not just statistics his presence alone propels them Paul George has checked in for Philadelphia Gordon comes in for Caleb Martin n MV drops them both boy he's got a great stroke from the line that's not something we can say about all the League's big guys outside Davis outside Russell a nice passing here by Los Angeles from range LeBron is good and when James is knocking down his threes watch out this offense is dangerous pass to Drummond we're just over two and a half minutes into the second quarter at the top of the key and B that's in coming off an assist from Lowry and that's now 10 points for Joel embiid not known for a quick release but embiid showing he has that ability as well steps back in fires rebound by the 76ers I guess even he has took miss one of those once in a while to the middle and the rejection by James it's a part of his game that LeBron takes a lot of pride in shot blocking and defending he's no slout at that end of the floor they get it again Davis relentlessly punishing the defense and a chance now to catch up on some numbers here the hustle stats for the Lakers I love the defensive concentration so far in this one they're getting out on Shooters and really doing a great job of disrupting the Rhythm and I think we've also got to talk about the tempo they played with right from the get-go I mean they've been deadly in transition too yeah he just punched the ticket on that one that'll get the job done powerful two hand Jam I tell you what if he's got a few more of those in him this lead will really start shrinking and with an update from the sidelines let's check in with David Aldridge thank you Kevin Joel MB talks about leading his team he said I've been guarded so many different ways I feel like I've seen everything and I know how to attack everything for me it's all about how do I bring everyone along with me you can't WI alone it's just about playing together and involving everybody Kevin and you've got to involve everybody all right da thanks it's good I tell you Russell looking very comfortable taking on aggressive defense and getting the job done that's good focus on his part one thing about the Lakers Clark over the last couple Seasons they get themselves to the free throw line yeah and a lot of that is due to the fact they've got some real creators in their lineup guys who can attack off the dribble at multiple positions from multiple angles and that creates pressure for the defense yet another Stellar night for LeBron offensively so far in some ways he's just Unstoppable mbid touch the bit for Jordan another shot and Davis sends it back and he recovers it and he's able to get it back that one's good the Laker lead is cut to just seven points in the basket from MB Los Angeles has gone two of four from three-point range so far in the second quarter Davis with a screen on Gordon embiid with the [Applause] steel in the corner it's Gordon back to Lowry launches a three now on the scoring column with that bucket one for two this game can't let Lowry get comfortable from Beyond The Arc because he's more than capable of hurting you from there pass to Vincent shoots the three good and the assist goes to LeBron Vincent's got five now the real come at us and we're coming right back at you a little back and forth from long range I love it that's a terrific answer there Howry against Russell embiid with it over Davis oh and that one had the right spit on it and it is good six 16 points for Joel and be and a close game so far through the first two quarters as we reach halftime Lakers lead by five and now let's catch up with David Aldridge who thank Lakers puts it up from 17 LeBron James finishes off the break he's so good at creating his own shot he's just got an endless supply of moves LeBron James well there's no question and he welcomes this that Anthony Davis shoulders a heavy load on the defensive end and he should and he does I mean he's a true anchor he protects the rim he can guard out on the perimeter communicates well he's got an excellent basketball IQ and he's a guy that can cover up a lot of mistakes from his teammates George against LeBron offt Target with the free throw line J you you almost have to assume he's going to knock those down when he is that open Davis with a screen on Maxi James kicks to Davis offline with his three the 76ers trailed by [Applause] 10 left side Lowry back to maxi down low Drummond kicks it out to Maxi from Deep George offensive rebound back to Maxi to the inside and finished off by DBS one of the dominant dunkers in the league Davis can put on the show in there and it's Nick Nur calling timeout here he's made the decision he wants to huddle up with his guy embiid he's checked in for Andre Drummond and we're just about 2 minutes into the second half now Maxi passes to U Back to Maxi pass to embiid over Davis and he sinks that one hitting the back of the rim on the way in and Beads got 18 points in the game and Reeves has got the ball here for the Los Angeles [Applause] Lakers High posst [Applause] Davis and Philadelphia grabs the Miss and be's got eight rebounds in this game UB against Hatchi mura no one near Maxi as lets it f good on the shot and that shaves the lead to in and the Lakers also making a change Russell's checked in and Nick nurse Greg the 26th head coach in 76ers franchise history and Kevin known for his creativity in that out Inside the Box thinking I think it's a good fit with this Forward Thinking front offense just five to shoot here's Davis and that one is off good d by [Applause] embid here's George and Davis pulls it down Lakers leading by seven we've gone about 3 and A2 minutes into the third now Russell looking around Davis setting the pick for Russell DRS in the train dangel he's got five man what a nice read boy Exquisite perfect timing by D'Angelo off the pick and roll Maxi kicks to George High post and beid minutes remaining in the third on the wing Eric Gordon he's covered by hachim mura the three and it's Gordon missing Los Angeles has gone one to two from Beyond The Arc since coming out of the break Russell against Maxi fouled in the act of shooting gets the bucket anyway so a three-point play chance for him boy I like the way Russell used his body there finishing through contact and he'll go to the line for a three-point play opportunity of all the great ball handlers Clark in the NBA Russell's got to be right there at the top of the list and the thing that impresses me Kevin is how smooth he makes it look and how effortless it appears even at full speed he can make moves that most guys can't even imagine and Philadelphia making a change here marttin checked in and Clark for the Lakers their last two seasons ended in playoff losses to the Denver Nuggets and I tell you what they fought hard both times Kevin the point differential was only 24 points over the four games in 2023 and just 11 points in 2024 La actually LED most of the five game series but weren't able to advance and the latest now from end the quarter and it's been their all right everybody and as we head into the fourth we'll see if there's a comeback in the works or if it's more of the same from the first three quarters and solry will bring it up for the Philadelphia 76ers they Trail by 11 so the Lakers five right now down in the Block it's LeBron and Davis Russell is out there with Vincent and it's chrisal and at the three basket of the period here for Philadelphia LeBron outside and here is Davis guarded by embiid Davis dises to Russell and there's another turnover by the Lakers B the 76ers making a switch here Gordon's checked in number 23 Gordon here's Gordon and here's L we've gone about a minute and a half into the fourth quarter and out of bounds as Los Angeles GS possession and this has been a comedy of errors I mean you can just add another one to the list Los Angeles leading by eight outside [Applause] Russell Martin against LeBron teams absorbing hits on the drive and making it look easy LeBron overwhelms the defense inside High post and [Applause] be in the corner it's Gordon that's good and it's embid with the assist the de just sagged off just enough and no hesitation on his part pass to of this game and a little over three and a half minutes in the books so far here in the fourth to the middle and inside Davis is on MB no good the defense ready for him on that possession they had to be cuz he is so strong in the paint Russell no good and it's Gordon with the ball he brings it up for the Philadelphia 76ers seven-point differential and Davis sends it back if you don't know exactly where Davis is he's going to deny your shot so you got to be aware of his presence Paul George is checked in for the 76ers Paul [Applause] [Applause] pass to Maxi remaining theame minutes MV against Davis 14 ft Away rebounded by the Lakers James has got six rebounds now in the game Russell kicks to Heim mura LeBron against ID smooth finish Inside by LeBron and once James gets the ball near the rim just let him go to work because he knows what he's doing down there Russell against Maxi hands it from short range guys that's just really Unstoppable he poses a ton of matchup problems for whomever he's facing LeBron with it now defended by embiid can't connect from short range the 76ers Trail by [Applause] seven now here's George no holding back mbid takes it in what Confidence from to lmb knock that one down in a clutch situation Bo it up for Davis and it's slammed in by Davis oh such a beautiful pass to set that one up yeah the pass might have been pretty but the Finish was angry well you need both to make it special and they pulled it off just right MBI against Davis five on the clock Martin with a screen for George three-pointer yes tell you what George has gotten very good in the pick and roll actually pretty deceptive when he's running the pick and roll when you anticipate him pulling up for the shot he'll take the defense by surprise with the slick pass to an open teammate and now let's take a look again at that incredible rejection a quick thinking pays off big what a block there's 38 seconds left to play in the final quarter inside and it's Davis finishing it off Relentless in their approach even with the game firmly in hand and you know until that final buzzer sounds I mean You' got to treat every possession like it's crucial and Philadelphia calls time here 29 seconds left here in the fourth quarter 29 seconds left in the fourth quarter it falls and now they Trail by just four no fear in Maxi folks this guy is ready for the big moment and welcomes to CH and so they foul intentionally foul second [Applause] now shoot [Applause] two he hits the first one and that puts them up by [Applause] five and he is unable to get the second one can't waste any time here no you need a quick bucket and then a quick pop just one second between the shot clock and game clock there's embiid money what a beautiful shot to bring him to within three you know with this size and offensive versatility the defense really has its hands full with himbi honestly just doing what they have to in order to get the basketball back that's a good foul though I like that I mean clock management crucial at this time of the game sh [Applause] two good on the first and that gives them a four-point cushion so he gets them both and it's a five-point game unfappable this guy relishes being the man to put the game away three pointer Martin that one doesn't [Applause] drop now LeBron and so Los Angeles takes the win a truly gutsy performance away from home you know it really was and Kevin when this one was hanging in the balance late they showed just what a tough-minded group they can be and now let's go over to David Aldridge from the sideline for an interview some stop defensively and um they made some shots towards the end but
