Minnesota State Fair: Hour-long Power outage didn't deter large crowds

CEREMONY WILL BE HAPPENING LATER THIS MORNING AT 11 A.M. WELL, THIS IS A DIFFERENT. THE STATE FAIR EXPERIENCED A POWER OUTAGE FOR OVER AN HOUR YESTERDAY. DURING PEAK HOURS, A LOT OF THE BOOTHS, VENDORS AND ATTRACTIONS WERE AFFECTED FROM ABOUT 4 TO 5:30 P.M. LOOK AT YOUR SCREEN IF YOU'RE NOT. THAT INCLUDES THIS. RIDE THE SKYSCRAPER AT ADVENTURE PARK. TWO PEOPLE WERE ON THAT RIDE, SUSPENDED REALLY HIGH IN THE AIR. THEY WERE REMOVED FROM THE RIDE AFTER JUST FIVE MINUTES, AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. NOW, DESPITE THAT HICCUP, YESTERDAY WAS ANOTHER REALLY BUSY DAY AT THE STATE FAIR. WE'RE GOING TO FIND OUT LATER THIS MORNING IF IT WAS A RECORD BREAKING CROWD LIKE THURSDAY, WHICH SET A NEW ATTENDANCE RECORD FOR OPENING DAY. OUR MAURY GLOVER HAS A LOOK AT THE CROWDS. WELL, IT'S ONLY BEEN A COUPLE OF DAYS, BUT SO FAR THE GREAT MINNESOTA GET TOGETHER IS LIVING UP TO ITS NAME. PORK CHOP ON A STICK AND CORN. SO WE'RE JUST GETTING READY TO GET SOME CHEESE CURDS. AND I LOVE THE FRIED GREEN OLIVES, WHICH IS LIKE RIGHT DOWN THERE. THE FRIED GREEN TOMATOES. YEAH. THEY'RE MY FAVORITE, BUT THEY HOLD THE HEAT TOO LONG. EVERY YEAR AT THE FAIR. MINNESOTANS ARE HUNGRY FOR PRACTICALLY ANYTHING ON A STICK, BUT THEY ALSO SEEM TO HAVE AN ENDLESS APPETITE FOR THE FAIR ITSELF. IT WAS A NICE DAY. NOT TOO HOT. SO I THINK WE PICKED A GOOD DAY BECAUSE THE NEXT FEW DAYS IS GOING TO BE HOT. SO WE CHOSE TODAY ON THURSDAY, THE STATE FAIR SET A NEW ATTENDANCE RECORD FOR OPENING DAY WITH 138,875 PEOPLE PASSING THROUGH THE GATES. THAT BEATS THE PREVIOUS RECORD ON OPENING DAY OF 133,326, SET IN 2019 BY MORE THAN 5000 PEOPLE. EARLIER IN THE DAY. IT WAS FANTASTIC. THEY CAME EARLY AND THEY WERE HUNGRY. BRAD REBAR SAYS HIS CORN ROAST BOOTH WAS ON A RECORD SETTING PACE ON THURSDAY UNTIL AN HOUR AND A HALF OF RAIN PUT A DAMPER ON SALES. STILL, HE SAYS, IT WAS PROBABLY HIS SECOND BEST OPENING DAY EVER, AND SO FAR, FRIDAY HAS BEEN MORE OF THE SAME. AWESOME, AWESOME, BECAUSE THINGS DURING THE SUMMER HAVE BEEN PRETTY SOFT. WE DO A LOT OF COUNTY FAIRS AND OTHER STATE FAIRS AND IT'S BEEN SOFT, BUT START WAS AMAZING. FAIRGOERS WE TALKED TO DON'T KNOW WHY THE ANNUAL TRADITION HAS HAD SUCH LARGE CROWDS, SO EARLY, BUT THEY SAY IT BODES WELL FOR THE REST OF THE 12 BEST DAYS OF SUMMER. I THINK THAT THERE IS GOING TO BE A LOT OF PEOPLE, A LOT OF PEOPLE, ALL THE MINNESOTANS ARE COMING AND THEIR FRIENDS. NOW, STATE FAIR OFFICIALS WON'T HAVE THE OFFICIAL ATTENDANCE NUMBERS FOR FRIDAY UNTIL SATURDAY, BUT JUST FROM THE EYE TEST, I
