NEXT WEATHER METEOROLOGIST GRANT GILMORE IS IN OUR VIRTUAL STUDIO WITH SOME GOOD NEWS. >> Grant: YEAH, OVERALL GOOD NEWS BUT WE'RE GOING TO STAY UNSETTLED AS WE GO THROUGH THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. BIG PICTURE GOOD NEWS IS LABOR DAY ITSELF DOES LOOK VERY NICE. SO, LET'S START THINGS OFF THIS MORNING, JUST A BRIEF LITTLE HEADLINE PREVIEW OF WHAT WE GOT GOING ON. LIKE I MENTIONED A LITTLE UNSETTLED FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THAT'S NOT TO SAY THAT THE NEXT FEW DAYS IS GOING TO HAVE A LOT OF RAIN BUT WE'LL HAVE SOME PERIODIC CHANCES FOR SOME SHOWERS. NOW, INTO SATURDAY, MORE SO SATURDAY NIGHT, IT LOOKS LIKE WE GET INTO A BETTER CHANCE FOR SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS AND STORMS. THAT WILL COME WITH A PRIMARY COLD FRONT, A SECONDARY COLD FRONT COMES THROUGH SUNDAY AND THAT WILL CLEAR THE WAY FOR WHAT LOOKS TO BE A NICE LABOR DAY ITSELF. WE'RE WAITING FOR A COLD FRONT TO MOVE THROUGH RIGHT NOW IN FACT. A LITTLE BIT OF CLOUD COVER ASSOCIATED WITH THIS COLD FRONT. IN FACT, A FEW SHOWERS AS WELL. BUT OVERALL WE'RE GETTING RID OF THE HEAT, THOUGH THE HEAT HAS NOT NECESSARILY SUBSIDED QUITE YET. WE'RE ACTUALLY A LITTLE WARMER THIS MORNING THAN WE WERE THIS TIME YESTERDAY MORNING. CURRENT TEMPERATURES DOWN THE SHORE ARE IN THE UPPER 70s TO RIGHT AROUND 80 DEGREES. SOUTH JERSEY, MID TO UPPER 70s AS WELL. WE'RE ALL WAITING FOR THIS SLIGHTLY COOLER AIR TO MOVE IN. IT'S NOT GOING TO BE A BIG REFRESHING PUSH OF SOME COLDER AIR. WE'LL SAVE THAT FOR NEXT WEEK BUT STILL TEMPERATURES ARE WARMER THAN THIS TIME YESTERDAY IN THE MID AND UPPER 70s. I MENTIONED THE COLD FRONT THAT'S MOVING THROUGH. AGAIN ITS COMING WITH A FEW STRAY SHOWERS. MOST OF WHICH ARE UP OVER THE NORTHERN PART OF THE LEHIGH VALLEY INTO THE POCONOS RIGHT NOW. WE'LL KEEP THAT SMALL CHANCE OF RAIN AROUND AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS. THERE'S THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY. BUT WINDS BEGIN TO SHIFT OUT OF THE NORTH AND EAST BEHIND THIS COLD FRONT. AND THAT SHIFT IN WIND DIRECTION IS ULTIMATELY WHAT BRINGS US THAT COOLER AIR. SOUTH OF THAT COLD FRONT, THAT'S THE HOT AND HUMID AIR THAT WE HAD YESTERDAY WITH THOSE TEMPERATURES THAT PEAKED UP AROUND 96 TO 97 DEGREES YESTERDAY. FEELS-LIKE TEMPERATURES IN THE TRIPLE DIGITS YESTERDAY. THAT'S GONE. WE'RE GOING TO PUSH THAT TO THE SOUTH. NOTICE HOW THIS FRONT PUSHES TO THE SOUTH. NOW, I WILL SAY THIS IS A CHANGE IN ONE OF OUR FORECAST MODELS. IT LOOKED LIKE WE MIGHT SEE MORE CLOUD COVER TODAY. IF WE START TO SEE SOME PEEKS OF SUNSHINE TODAY, THERE WILL BE THE POSSIBILITY THAT TEMPERATURES WARM INTO THE MID, MAYBE EVEN UPPER 80s. WE'LL HAVE TO SEE HOW THIS FRONT BEHAVES AND HOW IT INTERACTS WITH THE ATLANTIC OCEAN USHERING IN A LITTLE BIT MORE MOISTURE IN THE MID LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE. THAT SAID, IT DOES LOOK LIKE WE SEE A RETURN CHANCE FOR SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS OVERNIGHT TONIGHT INTO EARLY TOMORROW MORNING AND THEN THAT RETURN CHANCE FOR RAIN AS WE GO INTO SATURDAY AFTERNOON INTO SATURDAY NIGHT. YOUR LABOR DAY WEEKEND IS NOT A WASH. PLAN ON STORMS SATURDAY NIGHT MAYBE A LINGERING SHOWER ON SUNDAY BUT MONDAY ITSELF LABOR DAY ITSELF DOES LOOK VERY NICE. LET'S PUT IT ALL TOGETHER WITH THE SEVEN-DAY FORECAST HERE. WE WILL KEEP THAT SMALL CHANCE OF RAIN AROUND EARLY THIS MORNING. TEMPERATURES I STILL THINK ARE GOING TO PEAK AROUND 80 TODAY, A LITTLE COOLER TOMORROW WITH HIGHS NEAR 77. WATCHING FOR THE CHANCE FOR SOME STORMS SATURDAY NIGHT. BUT THEN LOOK AT NEXT WEEK. LABOR DAY, THAT STARTS OFF A GREAT WEEK. TEMPS RIGHT AROUND 80 DEGREES UNDER PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES. AND THEN AS WE GO INTO NEXT TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY, MOSTLY SUNNY, LOW HUMIDITY, LOW TEMPERATURES, WE'LL BE IN THE 50s AND TEMPERATURES ACTUALLY RUNNING A LITTLE BIT COOLER THAN NORMAL. SO, IT'S A REALLY NICE START TO NEXT WEEK AFTER A SOMEWHAT OF AN UNSETTLED CLOSE TO THIS WEEK AND I GUESS TECHNICALLY
