and some it's so fun I have my family here people who meant so much to me in my basketball journey and um just to watch this team right now they're playing so well the chemistry that they play with it's just fun basketball to watch Maya when when you're in this building and you're talking to Simone and you're seeing whan and and the Gang what are the what are like the first conversations that you guys have do you go right back to the day or you just kind of just catch up with each other and how fun is it just to be back in the building together yeah we were probably doing something silly like yesterday when we were waiting in the tunnel there was a little hoop with t-shirts and Simone and I started shooting in it uh talking a little Trash to each other uh but yeah we catch up with other family asking Taj how are little boys doing and um showing pictures of JJ and how everybody's getting so big and um just Reminiscing on um just the fun we had uh when we were on the court yesterday it was just a BL to get to appreciate each other all over again offensive rebound and put back by Misha hin Allen gives the links a 13-point lead now it's their biggest of the night as we continue our conversation with mayore who Jersey will be retired at the end of this game and um when you look at the other four jerseys that are up there putting yours next to those four and kind of completing this group will have significance May that I mean just looking at this and seeing those four men then will add 23 there might not be a greater group in the history of the WNBA truly truly it's it's wild to to look at what we did together for so long there was a point where I know um the three of us it was Brunson way me before the ball was inbounded or after the ball was inbounded so that is what they're sorting out right now on the court uh mayam know that uh there's a little bit of a frenzy in this building tonight because of the visiting team that's here Caitlyn Clark did a press conference at 5:30 today there was not a single question asked about tonight's game every question in that press conference was what did Maya Moore mean to you how did Maya Mo influence you she spoke so glowingly of you influencing her and she is the next generation of WNBA greatness and I'm wondering how you feel about about that honor of having impacted that player right there so much it's just the mutual respect and love right and how we're all connected you never know what person that you're kind to that you you you're just a human being with and what that person's going to become and end up doing with their platform with their talent with their gifts and so I I just love um that aspect of the WNBA I feel like we do make an extra effort to connect with our fans and with people um and how the communities that we play for really really do need us and appreciate us and are influenced and impacted by us um so it's uh it's it's really fun but I'd also just remind folks like the little girl that I hug that's not Caitlyn Clark she matters too that's right and uh let all of us do the same that we would do if no one's watching or if everyone's asking you a question at a press conference and I I hope Caitlyn will will will uh remember that and and just continue try to be and grow uh on her journey I'm curious of just kind of what you think about the play of basketball right now because the group that you were with were just so Elite and the different styles and your style brought so many people in but Lindsay whalan and her flying through the lane and all of the fun stuff but when you see what the young players are doing in that next group The Paige Beckers and them that are all coming through what are you surprised or is that exactly where you thought the league would be well it we're I stood on you know taj's generation shoulders uh these players were standing on our shoulders um we would hope that you know speaking of money mom there she is uh standing on her shoulders you know we would hope that these players would get motivated and access to more ways to develop themselves not just as basketball players as people you know you see these young women coming into the league and they're running business starting businesses they're um you know just thinking about the community um so all the things that we do on and off the court I think have propelled these young players forward and we're playing with boys and skill at a younger age than we were and that's exactly how it's supposed to be you know we set records so they can break them oh knows who she is and and and the way she plays uh every shot she puts up you think it's going to go in and uh and the unselfishness as well um she doesn't care who gets the credit she just wants to win so uh I love what she's doing I love that the leader of a group like this um is empowering her teammates to be their best too A Time Indiana is on a six nothing run and has cut the lead down to plays where she's kind of snaked her way into the paint and scored they've had 22 points in this second quarter already and Clark has 11 she's a perfect three for three in this second quarter she's also hit all three of her free throw attempts so Clark's line right now 12 points three rebounds four assist it's a twoo lead for the links Carlton and a rebound to Clark and a pass ahead a little too strong for Lexi Hull who was streaking down the court Caitlin is frustrated with herself on that one cuz she had a great look that's one of my favorite things that Caitlyn Clark does is her ability to see the court and quickly get that outlet pass down the court she wanted that one and I thought sh reev said it so interesting before the game pace and passing that's what she said the two best characteristics are of Caitlyn Clark's game and attia heiderman just drove made a nice basket for herself she said the pace and the passing are the greatest strengths for cl a block against Caitlyn McBride goes to the ground a hard foul against Kate to do everything they can and atanta Smith is really good at blocking shots has been all season long and comes in and takes that one the last foul went against Deus Dantes it's the fourth of the quarter for Indiana deflected by Hull Minnesota ball Lexi Hull on Sunday night which is the last time Indiana played the Sunday night win against Seattle had 22 points and hit a career high six three-pointers yeah that was impressive to watch she's only been in double digit scoring three times this season it's outstanding in that Seattle game ooo Minnesota basketball look like Elena Smith might have been the last last to touch him that's what Lexi Hall is thinking and it is it's Indiana basketball and it feels like that is the right call Smith had her hand on that basketball they're going to show it in the arena Indiana will bring it up the court wheeler initiating the offense and Erica wheeler top of the key Dantes offensive board hole but a whistle before that happened foul against Smith Alanta Smith picks up her first foul and there are booze from the fans at Target [Applause] Center Atlanta Smith didn't like that one the crowd didn't like it but we play on and it was Smith battling against Ayah Boston just got an offensive rebound and put back and they were kind of tangled up look like maybe one of those uh each party is as guilty as the other kind of fowls but it went to Smith back to a two-point game hman lost it a foul coming against Caitlyn Clark that'll be her first a little bit of a frustration foul for Caitlyn she knows is that natia hiid himman is pastor and that she can't get in front of her you know I thought it was uh admirable that Clark pointed out in the the pregame press conference she three-point shot she goes to her left for the shot as well as anyone we've seen for a right-handed player it's not easy but it is a patented move for Clark heidman loses the defense but can't get the
