questions for the Old Miss Rebels again they have Ferman in week one Chris what's something uh you're looking for what's a big question for you on the rebels hey look when we talk oh miss and Lane kein I feel like 90% of the talk has always been on offense and it's just can the defense get enough stops to let the offense win the game well this year that's going to look a lot different because what did the portal King do Chase he loaded up on defense he really did and in fact I'm not going to say they didn't add some nice pieces on offense but boy added some fantastic pieces on defense let let me give them to you princely human Milan I probably botch the pronunciation but you know who he is he's the the stud defensive end from Florida Walter Nolan who was the number one recruit in the country two years ago out of Knoxville who went to Texas A&M for two years nose tackle I think a potential first rounder they landed Chris Paul from Arkansas who I think was Arkansas's most productive Defender a year ago guys played a lot of football in the SEC as a middle linebacker they added Isaiah Hamilton who had four picks as a corner last year at Houston they added Trey Amos who was a reserve corner at Alabama last year but a highly regarded one and they got some other guys they got kesan Lawrence they got yam Banks transfers from Oklahoma and South Alabama that's a lot of new faces Chase and look let's be honest we are not sitting here telling you we're going to make sweeping conclusions from a game in which Old Miss is like a 40 to 42 Point favorite no we're not that stupid and you aren't either but I am telling you they play the games for a reason we watch them for a reason I just want to see what it looks like with these guys in Old Miss uniforms because I I think the defense is the reason really that I I think this is probably the second best team in the SEC this year coming to the season and I think the reason was when I looked at what they added man it was spectacular yeah and you made a good point I mean most of the talk around on Miss has always been def or offense and I think it still is because it's a great offense and Lane kein the offensive coach that he is but tremendous job he did in the offseason I think Lane kein realized what he has on offense and said hey we got to have a defense that match if we want this to be anything of a successful season we've got to play defense and he did an extraordinary job of going out and getting defensive players uh on this roster just tremendous and I think that's going to be that's the recipe for being successful being a championship caliber team is being strong on both sides the ball and when you look at this roster they're strong on both sides of the ball yeah ve very strong very strong and I think the rest of this we're going to spend talking about the offense I have a feeling yeah so uh my biggest question when I'm watching this game and probably when I'm watching every game for all miss the season is who gets the most targets at receiver and they have a a large receiving room and a lot of talent you you look at Trey Harris he he's going to be a top Target juice Wells the transfer uh he he's going to be a guy that's going to get some catches Jordan Watkins a guy who really strong receiver he's GNA get some touches and then you add in tight end Kaden prescor to that as well who it's going to be crazy if he doesn't get a lot of touches as well and so I'm going to be curious who gets the most targets are they going to spread it out um how are how are teams going to defend these guys like are they going to have to Target one or two to to put more pressure on and is that going to leave open other guys like I'm I'm really curious of how this is going to work out because there's going to be so many guys who so many Playmakers at receiver with a good quarterback who's going to be able to get it to them but I'm just curious how they're GNA spread it out and and who is going to get the most targets yeah well and let's be honest too um I don't think we'll be seeing these guys into the fourth quarter probably I mean you you've got some other guys Kaden Lee uh maybe noral white Aiden Williams um who are going to maybe be getting some Target a lot lots of mouses to feed there and I wouldn't think in a game against Ferman you're gonna have your big guys in you know in the fourth quarter yeah yeah so you know and with and that's a good point because I feel like who's going to get the most Targets in the first half uh when when they're playing in this game so to me that's intriguing interesting with all the receivers and the tight end that can make catches as well that they have so uh all right Chris what uh what's your third biggest question for this Old Miss Ferman game well I just talked about you're going to be getting guys out of the lineup probably and letting those younger guys get some reps to to save your guys and look here's old Miss's schedule after this it's not exactly murderer row they've got MTSU a trip to Wake Forest Georgia Southern and then I think the first really challenging game will be Kentucky and Oxford uh they they don't even play a top 25 team till mid October and Jackson Dart I think is a legit Heisman candidate but if you got jackon Dart in the fourth quarter of the game against Ferman we got some problems we hadn't unpacked here yet I don't think that's gonna happen and Lane kein one thing that amazed me that he's done Chase when he started getting quarterbacks a couple years ago he got you know he's he's landed Dart he landed Spencer Sanders he landed Walker Howard and that one really shocked me um because Walker Howard was walking into a crowded room and oh by the way he was an LSU Legacy Walker Howard is a very very talented player and I guess the air parent at quarterback for Miss I don't know where that'll go beyond this year but Walker Howard is GNA have to start getting some reps last year he threw four in the month of September things go to plan and I just want to see how that looks yeah and and it it'll be interesting with all those games that's a great point you you look up and down their schedule and there's a lot of chances I think Walker Howard has to come in games and and get some some good experience get some good numbers so yeah that that'll definitely be interesting to see what he looks like we know most likely he's going to see the field in this game he should see the field in this game and so yeah that's that's a big question I think for this
