2024 Fantasy Football Draft Guide & Mock Draft (Yahoo)

I've collected all the rankings all the ADP from every major fantasy site and what I'm doing is I'm going to break down the best and worst values for you on Yahoo fantasy and also give you an idea of what draft strategy you should Implement to specifically exploit the rankings and ADP on this platform now I'm going to break this down by position and we're going to talk about the best and worst quarterback values right now so if you're going to look at this sheet essentially any cell that's highlighted green that's going to be the best value on that platform and any cell that's highlighted red that's going to be the worst value so the best quarterback values that you have on Yahoo are going to be Lamar Jackson and CJ strad Lamar Jackson actually goes to the beginning of the fourth in Yahoo drafts whereas if you compare him in sleeper he's going about the same range but on ESPN he's going in the middle of the third if you're going to look at where CJ Stroud is going if you want CJ shroud you would have to take him at the 4 five turn in comparison on other plat forms he's going at the beginning of the fourth round and the other great value that you have is Caleb Williams who just had another great preseason game there he is an ADP of 114 which is over a full round cheaper than where he's getting drafted on sleeper now on the other hand there are a couple guys that are overrated in Yahoo drafts including Brock perie if you want perie you're going to have to take him about 10 12 picks ahead of where you'd have to on other platforms if you want Baker Mayfield I I'd avoid uh really any quarterback that's that far down the list but ultimately it's not like the elite level quarterbacks are any more expensive on Yahoo than they are elsewhere so I think that if you are drafting on Yahoo fantasy specifically in a league where you only start two wide receivers and one Flex my suggestion would be to go ahead and Target one of these quarterbacks in the early rounds whether that's Josh Allen Patrick Mahomes Jaylen Herz Lamar Jackson CJ strad specifically on this platform they're not going to be quote unquote overvalued as you would see on ESPN now let's go ahead and let's look at running back here now it's going to be a clear Trend that you see with this video is running backs are more expensive on Yahoo then you are going to see pretty much any other platform this starts at the very top where if you're looking at saquin Barkley saquin Barkley has an ADP a pick nine whereas on sleeper he goes to the beginning of the second round if you look at Rashad white Rashad white goes in the third round on Yahoo where he typically goes in the fourth round on ESPN sleeper he goes in the sixth round on Underdog but I mean I'm sure that if yall have drafted with us on Underdog at night you understand we're not comparing these adps to Underdog fantasy just because that is going to be a format where wide receivers are pushed up dramatically and instead I'm going to primarily be comparing Yahoo to ESPN and sleeper but I do want to remind y'all I'm still doing Underdog drafts every single night in the Stream Underdog's still by Far and Away my favorite place to draft it's the best place to get into an extra fantasy football draft as there's no time commitment at all during the season so I draft hundreds of teams every offseason so I 150 yard but moving on Beyond this another overdrafted running backs Kenneth Walker he's a little more expensive here if you look at James Connor James Connor you have to take him in round five on Yahoo whereas he goes in round six on ESPN and sleeper um you have zamir white going at pick 66 where he goes a pick 75 on sleeper you have Raheem Moser going to pick 73 where he goes to pick 91 on ESPN you have Nick chub dramatically overdrafted you have Zach Moss overdrafted you have Austin Eckler with an ADP of 85 now I draft a lot of Austin Eckler because on Underdog he goes to pick 131 but even over on ESPN he's going 15 picks past where he's going on Yahoo single T's overdrafted um Chase Browns overdrafted really you don't get the quote unquote values in comparison to other platforms until you get to the later rounds at running back with guys like Marshon Lloyd so if I was drafting on Yahoo of course you still need running backs right we can't say oh typically these middle round guys are overdrafted that means we don't want to take any of them no no no you just have to be smart about where you take these guys so what I would specifically say in Yahoo drafts it makes the most sense to go ahead and take one of those anchor running backs to the very top take Christian mcaffrey round one take Bree Hall round one take bejan Robinson round one take Jonathan Taylor at the end of the first round that way by the time you get to the middle rounds you don't have to be the guy taking Rashad white in the third and instead you can pivot over to the better values like we discussed we're like Lamar Jackson's going in the fourth round here so running back I would highly recommend to get a running back right in round one possibly in round two say if you get a good price point on jir Gibbs say you get a good price on kyen Williams I think you can go running back running back specifically because it looks like all the running backs that are in the middle rounds those are going to be guys that are overdrafted in comparison to other four mats now going over to wide receiver here you will see almost the opposite Trend where we get to the middle rounds and wide receivers are generally at a discount now there are a couple one-off names that are a little more expensive here such as like Nico Collins going in the middle of round three to be honest with you I'm still okay with that Nico Collins price point he goes round two on Underdog um but anyway Stefon Diggs is a great value pick 39 you can get Diggs in round four you can get DK meaf in round four you can get Devon Smith at the 4 five turn you can get tank Dell in round six now like I said there are a couple quote unquote overdrafted guys here mixed in like Amari Cooper goes to Pig 53 whereas he goes to Pig 68 on ESPN but what I would typically advise you to do is in these middle rounds I think when you're in rounds three four five six of course quarterback is still for sure in play there like we discussed the elite level quarterbacks are not overdrafted on Yahoo I I think you can go get yourself a player like Lamar Jackson but if you're in the middle of rounds here this seems to be a perfect spot to just scoop as much wide receiver value as you can yes please give me tagin at the 56 turn yes please give me tank Dell at the 56 turn yes please give me Z flowers in round five yes please give me a Devonta Smith at the 4 five turn those are perfect wide receiver profiles to pair up with the elite running backs that you took early potentially the elite quarterback that you took early to take advantage of the overall format and then going over to tight end tight end is very reasonably priced maybe Jake Ferguson's a little bit overdrafted here but ultimately it looks like Yahoo's kind of right in between where these guys go on ESP and sleeper now I will remind y'all if you're looking at them in comparison to running backs maybe in the middle rounds you're better off taking Trey McBride at the end of the fourth you're better off taking Dalton Cade at the beginning of the fifth just because running backs in those rangers are going to get overdrafted on this platform for but let me dive into a mock draft to show you exactly how I am doing this on Yahoo okay yes this is Yahoo may look a little bit gross but we are going to be at pick 11 now pick 11 will be extremely difficult to navigate just because this is a spot where we're not going to be able to get one of the great running backs we're not going to get CMC we're not going to get Bree Hall we're not going to get bejan Robinson which I would highly recommend I mean if you can choose your draft position on Yahoo I think you need to be going with a pick four pick five and it would be extremely simple for you there to just take that Elite level running back out the gate I wanted to just make it a little more complicated give us that tough spot over here at 11 that way we can hopefully figure this out for you but we are coming up all three of those running backs that we previously talked about were already gone so going over and looking at the best available players that we are going to have soon we are looking at AJ Brown Jonathan Taylor Garrett Wilson jir Gibbs unua Derrik Henry sequan Barkley so hopefully we can understand when we are on the clock okay I think I see it on the side over there we're up in one pick I don't know the last time I drafted on Yahoo fantasy the center faces a little bit outdated but we'll work with it we'll work with it and here what I'm kind of hoping happens is I'm hoping that we get Jonathan Taylor making it to us JT doesn't so if you look at my personal rankings I actually do have AJ Brown ranked highest here at pick 11 I am going to go ahead I'm going to try to figure out how I draft this guy um we are able to add him to our Q can I just can I take him draft bam I I I got the button up there so we take AJ brown but going back to what we're talking about previously with running backs in the middle round kind of being gross I think that this is a spot where we more likely than not are going to want to take a running back here at the beginning of the second because as I discussed previously we are really wanting to hammer in the running backs in the late rounds in the early rounds and avoid the running backs in the middle rounds on Yahoo it's just very difficult when the best player available is AJ brown but we should still be able to get either s won Barkley or jir Gibbs making it to us at the beginning of the second now obviously Gibbs dealing with the hamstring um Gibbs actually does indeed go right before us so Sequon Barkley is going to be the guy that we actually take here and let's hopefully um see an Elite Eagles offense and hopefully these two guys are able to take it home for us getting some sense of running backs going higher in this draft you are going to see that Isaiah peo does go off the board here at the 204 whereas if we're cross referencing some other platforms Isaiah Pacho is actually around four pick in Underdog drafts Isaiah Pacho is actually around three pick in your sleeper drafts but this going to be a continued Trend you're going to see a lot of these running backs slide up and that's why most likely at the three four turn we are not going to be going with the running back unless we get someone really exciting falling to us okay so going back to what we're talking about previously with the elite tight ends being priced um very reasonably on Yahoo you actually don't have Travis Kelce going off the board in this draft till the middle of the third round I mean I personally prefer lorta over Kelce but it doesn't really matter too much they're about the same and here if we get the ability to take Sam leaport coming soon sadly we don't he goes right before us to the 308 but if you wanted to go with one of those Elite tight ends there in the third I think that's a phenomenal price tag for them with their range of outcomes this year especially knowing that you're going to get wide receiver help later now my concern would be is if you look at those two teams at pick six and pick eight they don't have a running back through the first three rounds which I think on Underdog completely fine on sleeper completely fine however specifically on Yahoo it may be a little tough so as we're getting up on the clock here we actually get Josh Jacobs falling to us which I I feel very fortunate with because Jacobs typically goes at the two3 turn in these drafts on Yahoo but we're going to take advantage of him because we don't want to be in a position where we're having to go ahead and we're having to take um a gross running backs in the coming rounds so we'll take Jacobs here at the end of the third and we should still get the elite quarterback making it back to us there's still Jaylen herdz Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson so at the very minimum one of them will be ours at the 402 and Jaylen Herz goes so honestly Jaylen Herz was the guy that we are wanting especially when we have AJ Brown especially when we have saquon Barkley we kind of all in on this Eagles offense already but regardless we'll still be able to get an elite quarterback here as we already mentioned they are very reasonably priced so Pitman off the board there at the beginning of the fourth which is very interesting because some of the wide receivers in the sixth round if you look at the ADP consensus cheat sheet are maybe a little exciting so here we'll go ahead and we're recording this right after the Chiefs just crushed um in the preseason I I know it probably doesn't matter to see Mahomes throwing the ball behind his back and know probably overreacting this Chief's offense looks so damn exciting so I'm going to go ahead I will take Patrick Mahomes at the 402 I definitely would have prefer Jaylen Herz but once Herz goes I think Mahomes the best valued quarterback here and as we discussed previously I think the elite quarterbacks are a very reasonable price in these Yahoo drafts okay so looking at some of these names at running back wide receiver it looks like this is a very balanced draft I'm going to be really interested in watching that team at eight and what they decide to do because if I was that team at eight I would also think that Jefferson's the best value at pick eight pugan NKU is the best value at the 205 Sam leapor is the best value at the 308 Jaylen wd's the best value at the 405 but since this is a league where you can only start two wide receivers and one Flex it is one where it's difficult to continue to take the wide receiver Valu once you get later on and you may end up getting stuck taking some of these overdrafted running backs but we'll see and I want to see maybe we're wrong here maybe that team at eight is able to just go through and find some great values later on now you see CJ strad going at the 502 and this is one thing that I really want to talk about this isn't a Yahoo specific strategy but I've noticed it across all of fantasy football drafts this year once you have momes Allen Lamar and Herz all off the board the four Elite quarterbacks in my mind the gap until you start seeing Anthony richson CJ stoud Joe burrow Dak Prescott these other quarterbacks that go it's not that far so if I'm going to go after an elite quarterback this year I would way rather just draft Patrick Mahomes at the beginning of the fourth than CJ Strat at the beginning of the fifth or I'd way rather draft Lamar Jackson at the beginning of the fourth than Anthony richson at the end of the fourth so what I and same thing Kyle Murray at the 506 I'd way rather just pay another round and get a true Elite level option so I'd recommend that for you as well regardless of the platform that you're drafting on now when we are on the clock here as we mentioned previously our initial plan is going to be to find wide receivers that we like at the 56 turn that's what the 2024 ADP cons cheat sheet has told us will be the value that's what I'm assuming will be the value I can see some of these wide receiver prices that I really do like such as Jaylen Wadd in the fourth Devonte Smith in the fourth tank Dell in the fifth those guys look extremely interesting hope that we get one and honestly if we get the ability to take Dalton conade here I may not mind that as well definitely not going to be going with Joe burrow definitely not going to be going with the running backs like James Connor Rand Dre Stevenson I think we're either going to be looking at the wide receivers such as T Higgin Z flowers or an elite tight ends and we're actually going to get the ability to take an elite tight end here as well which is what we discussed previously where these guys are reasonable priced so now if you actually look at what you have right now with our Squad we're sitting with an elite receiver with AJ Brown we have the two top running backs with saquon Barkley Josh Jacobs we have an elite quarterback with Patrick Mahomes and a very strong tight end option with Dalton concade and while yes if you look at the Yahoo ADP George KD's higher than concade if you look at her 2024 ADP consensus cheat sheet you'll notice that concade should actually be higher than KD and that's almost just a mistake on the Yahoo platform now going back over and looking at what's going to be available for us here I think it's going to be pretty simple we want to go with the wide receiver that's where the values are going to be looks like the best wide receiver available will be T Higgins I am very excited about getting tagins in the sixth round especially now that he can be our wide receiver too behind AJ Brown and if you go look at some other platforms tagin is going in the fifth on sleeper tagin is going in the fourth on underdog so I feel very comfortable with this price point and avoiding the guys that go in this round such as Raheem moer and zamir white so just a reminder is what we were talking about previously what I've noticed that people make the mistake doing is once the elite quarterbacks go they think that they have to take their quarterback right after where the gap between Dak Prescott and Josh Allen is actually significantly larger than just three rounds where if you were going to pass on the elite quarterbacks early you were going to pass on the elite TI End early don't take David and joku in the seventh don't take Dak Prescott in the sixth don't take Brock pie in the seventh round you're better off waiting until the very end of your draft if you're going to do that but what I would recommend as you see what we do in this draft is instead go with one of the elite guys at both positions just a round or two earlier than the rest of the low-end um qb1 and tight end one options will go but let's move this over and what we are assuming we're going to do here at the of the sixth the beginning of the seventh is we're more likely than not going to be looking to go ahead and take a receiver there are plenty of wide receiver values just as we are expecting and for the love of God never be taking a kicker never be taking a defense here I think that goes without being said but here are the best wide receivers available are going to be Kenan Allen Jaden Reed Chris Godwin Hollywood Brown know if you look at the ADP against Chi-Chi's been a big time follower due to the injury romad dun and there are a couple of guys that we should definitely be able to get later so we're going to go ahead we will take Keenan Allen here as our wide receiver three and now that we're back up on the clock if you're look at the running backs in comparison to these receivers the running backs are just significantly worse which is why you want to draft your running backs early on this platform the receivers you have Chris Godwin Jaden Reed romad dun I actually kind of prefer Jaden Reed over Godwin but the thing is I think that there's a small possibility that Jaden Reed makes it back to us whereas Chris Godwin won't so we're going to go ahead we will take Chris Godwin now if you look at our team we have AJ Brown at wide receiver we have Barkley Jacobs at running back we have Mahomes at quarterback we have canate at tight ends and then we bolster our middle round wide receiver values with t Higgins Kenan Allen and Chris Godwin so the later rounds this is going to be where we kind of pivot over and we begin to Target some high-end running back potential production not necessarily guys that project it out to have great roles week one guys that you know for sure are going to have I mean potentially a shot at a starting job like Aaron Jones zamir white who you have to take in the fifth and the sixth round instead as we get to these later rounds we're going to begin to look for running backs that if things were to break one way or another then all of a sudden they could have a high ceiling such as Chase Brown's a perfect example of one of these late late round running backs that you could look at romad dun actually goes at the end of the eighth really like the Rome pick I personally would have taken him if he would have made it to us at the end of the 9th and one thing I've noticed here as well where y'all know I've been drafting on Underdog all year I'm drafted on sleeper a decent amount as well when you step into these casual Yahoo rooms these casual ESPN rooms the rookies are going to be great values especially the rookie wide receivers this year now I don't want you to be the guy going ahead and taking rookies like Malachi Corley Germaine Burton those players would just be roster cloggers at the bottom end but if you can get these players that have round one NFL draft Capital like romad dun going in the top 10 picks of the NFL draft and you're able to go ahead and get him at the end of the eighth I personally think that's pretty much a no-brainer yeah and I do want to remind everybody here for the love of God do not be taking defenses and kickers now I see that I think two of these teams are on auto looks like the other teams are actually taking defenses and kickers which I understand in your draft if you're drafting with people who know what they're doing there's no way in hell that they're actually doing that but regardless and another thing that I think is very important to point out is because we took the elite quarterback because we took the elite tight ends we do not have to think about taking a second quarterback or a second tight end and instead we get the ability to just go after the running backs with upside as we previously mentioned now I was planning on going with running backs with upside but one of our guys here Jaden Reed good offense great rookie season going into year two makes it to us pick 108 so we're going to go Jaden Reed and then we're actually going to Pivot back over and take a running back that should be in a committee but does have some upside we will go ahead and we will take Tony Pard now if you look at our team love it I mean we are sitting right now at wide receiver with AJ Brown tagin Kenan Allen Chris Godwin Jaden Reed I'm done drafting wide receivers here we have the elite quarterback with momes we have the elite tight end with concade running back we have Squan Barkley Josh Jacobs and Tony Pard and from here on out we're just going to be slamming these running backs that have upside for late in the year okay we are back up on the clock like I discussed previously we are going to be looking for running back here I think that there are a bunch of different options I think that there are very high upside receivers as well such as Keon Coleman you're going to notice that that this ADP list is absolutely garbage so highly recommend using our consensus ADP list to draft instead of this now just looking at how things line up we're going to take Ezekiel Elliot and then on the way back around I think we can take another running back or we can take another receiver we can go Keon Coleman here if we would really like and honestly I am going to do that I think Keon Coleman has a ton of upside to be going in this range so we'll go ahead and we'll take Keon here at pick 134 okay we are backup on the clock here and if you look at the options that we have we're to skip by all these guys I actually think that it's a great idea even though we took a tight end that we really like in Dalton concade to go ahead and take TJ hackinson here because this is somebody that we could potentially throw to the IR almost immediately I think Yahoo is going to make me take a defense I think that they're going to make me take a kicker here I don't care um about any of these you do you but the team that we were able to come away with is starting off with Mahomes at quarterback back then at wide receiver we have AJ Brown T Higgins Keenan Allen Chris Godwin Jaden Reed Keon Coleman going over to running back we have saquon Barkley Josh Jacobs Tony Pard Ezekiel Elliots what the plan for this squad would be after this point is we would go ahead we would move TJ hackinson to the IR then we'd be picking up another running back off the waiver wire essentially just getting an additional free roster spot at the very end but I really hope I was able to help you out with this of
