respect to our graduates and those seated around you we ask that all cell phones and other electronic communication devices be turned off or muted during the ceremony there are several exits in Star Wars Stadium Please be aware of the exits closes to your seat restrooms are located on the home and visitor side near the concession stands concession stands will remain open throughout the ceremony bullhorns whistles clappers and any other noise makers are prohibited parents and guests are not allowed on the field at any time at the conclusion of the ceremony students will exit the stadium to wow you know I was told envisioning my audience in their underwear would make me less nervous but to be honest I'm just a little uncomfortable I'm sorry for those of you who don't know me my name is Tyler Crow and like Mr Brook said I'm the student body president here at the great Rober Lee High School it was this time last year that I'd found out I'd be standing here delivering this speech to you all and like all great students I waited until last night to write the speech so please just take a moment and lower your expect expectations we good thank you nevertheless 4 hours and three Red Bulls later here I am that explains the eyebag sorry it's crazy to me how time flies by you it feels like just yesterday we had our first awkward freshman class that first laggy pep rally the first football game the first girlfriend second girlfriend the third girlfriend that first realization that maybe I was the problem I'm having that first right now by the way Jokes Aside no class perseveres like the class of 2024 no class has been through more facing pandemics such as senioritis and acne having faced Second Spring oh excuse me the 2022 freeze or worst of all having to watch Mr Brooks brick dance at prom but we survived sorry now I'm done with the jokes Mr Brooks is fantastic play please let me graduate with that being said good evening it's my pleasure to welcome you all graduates Administration family and friends faculty and staff to the graduation ceremony for the robery Lee class of [Applause] 2024 before I start I want to give a special thank you to all the faculty and staff who gave weeks of their lives to us in preparation for this wonderful ceremony and another thank you to the teachers who've been along this journey with us these crazy last four years the teachers at the school have earned a reputation for going above and beyond the Call of Duty to make every classroom feel like a home for many students finally a thank you to the parents who nurtured the seed of learning in our souls as children and raes us up into the men and women you see before you today we truly owe it to you all fore for that I ask my peers and those in the audience to dedicate a round of applause for those very parents teachers and staff before I continue I'd also like to take a moment to personally thank my teachers and coaches namely coaches lefor and Bingham and of course to my incredibly zealous family my Mom Dad Grandma Grandpa Theos and theas for all the sacrifices y'all have made for me whether big or small spoken and unspoken there's no amount of words that I can say that can encapsule how grateful I am for what you've done because without you I'm not the man I am today that says a lot cuz there's a lot of man standing here on stage sorry I love you all dearly today celebrates the end of a seemingly unseason chapter in our lives countless hours of hard work Blood Sweat and Tears have been put into this investment of our futures for these last 12 years we as students have engulfed ourselves into our school Works whether clubs and sports those curriculars have defined Who We Are up until this point hoopers artist athletes mathletes musicians writers golfers Dancers just to name a few I understand the road ahead may feel scary now whatever your path may be but know that although this chapter is over your story is just beginning when I look around me I don't see my fellow graduates rather I see a room full of future doctors future Educators future lawyers future Engineers future workers the list goes on but I say this to say that each and every one of you are capable of great things no matter how small it may be just know that to someone out there you matter you've had and will continue to have an impact on our world every great American hero sat where you sit today all of which were just normal people at this point Bill Gates for instance the ninth wealthiest person in the world once sat in a chair just like yours listening to a speech just like mine so if there's one thing you take away from my speech take these words of advice there's no fashion passion to be found playing small and sling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living Nelson Mandela for those listening follow your dreams and shoot for the stars to all my fellow graduates I wish you good luck and thank you all welcome to the and grandparents of These Fine young men and women have played a vital role in the educational process we appreciate the support you have given us with the parents and grandparents and family members of our graduates please stand and be recognized it is with great pleasure that I now turn the podium over to four of the most distinguished outstanding members of the class of 2024 our keynote speakers will be senior class president Shenia Gordon given our senior reflection followed by Anthony mofin with our senior challenge then our salutatorian Address given by Michelle Hernandez concluding with with Andrea Lopez given a Valtor address please welcome at this time Miss Janiah Gordon that short ladies and gentlemen esteemed faculty honored guests and my fellow graduates of the class of 2024 As We Gather here today on the brink of a new chapter in our lives it is only fitting that we take a moment to reflect on the journey that has led us to the this point Thank you each step we've taken each challenge we face and each Triumph we' celebrated has shaped us into the individuals we are today so let us take a pause for a moment of reflection when we were in kindergarten not too long ago we were spread across the town in several elementaries making friends was the goal of Elementary we were the most we made the most of our elementary days trying to make sense of what our young lives would hold as we moved on Middle School our first two years were Elite from experiencing our first ever school dance in sixth grade to having to evacuate our entire school to two of our classmates lighting a trash can on fire in the restroom but once our eighth grade year hit things started getting difficult Co hit us pretty hard causing us to have a shorten eighth grade year which totally didn't prepare us for high school despite all of the ups and downs this was a time to enjoy friends and make new ones it was our time to mature and just with the blink of an eye we were now freshman when we first entered this institution we weren't ready to conquer the world we had dreams aspirations and a burning desire to make our mark on the world but things didn't come as easy as we thought this was definitely not like the movies over the last four years we've encountered countless obstacles and setbacks but we also experienced moments of sheer joy and accomplishment I could say one of our Fondest Memories would be driving Mr Lacy insane almost every day we'd hear his famous phrases every second of the day take your hoodie off why are you in my office go to class and occasionally his best one straight to jail or maybe the time where we spent a whole year without full restroom privileges because our classmates decided to partake in the devious licks Trend honestly who steals mirrors and soap dispensers when y'all find out please let me know think back to the late night study sessions the group projects that tested our Pat Pati and the exams that seemed absolutely ridiculous despite all of the odds we persevered we pushed through the doubts and uncertainties knowing that each challenge was merely a stepping stone on the path to success but our journey wasn't just about academic achievement it was also about personal growth and self-discovery we've learned the value of resilience the importance of empathy and the power of community we forged long life friendships sh shared Unforgettable moment moments and discovered passions we never knew we had and now as we stand on the threshold of the future we find ourselves filled with a mixture of excitement and apprehension the road ahead is uncertain filled with twists and turns we cannot foresee but let us not be afraid for we are equipped with knowledge skills and determination to face whatever challenges come our way as we embark on this new Journey Let Us carry with us the lessons we've learned the memories we've shared and the friendship we've forged let us strive to make a difference in the world to leave a legacy that will inspire future generations to come so my fellow graduates as we bid farewell to this chapter of our lives and prepare to write the next let us do so brightest and our roads be the best these past four years have been different Journeys for us all some rough and some just another summer day when the Sun hits just right I know all of you have overcome your challenges because you sit here in front of me but I have yet another challenge for all of us seniors before I get into that let me tell you what I'm going to do some way some somehow each and every one of you will hear about me again whether it's on the news Facebook uh building robotics programs or any other way you can imagine you will hear me by name or by something great I will have accomplished for our future my challenge to you is that you go out in this huge world of ours and go make a name for yourself find your calling and be the best at it be a positive role in our society be the coffee bean in a pot of boiling water and change everything for the better become the leader you would follow and show us all What You're Made Of and if you ever forget or you just feel lost ask yourself what will silly old Anthony be doing as I go through the Halls spreading Joy kindness and knowledge to the world finally I want to personally thank everyone that got me to this point and in my life from The Humble sanitation workers who work daily to our cheerful cheerleaders who speak up there is inspiration everywhere you look just keep your head up and remember my challenge Anthony signing off ftg forever the gander [Applause] good evening faculty staff family friends and of course the amazing class of 2024 I am Michelle Hernandez and I am proud to introduce myself as your salutatorian our high school Journey has been anything but ordinary we started virtually with this numerous Renovations and dealt with the challenge of going from one side of the comment to the other we Face obstacles like deciding what to wear each morning and forgetting our IDs we navigated heartbreaks family issues and mental health roller coasters and let's not forget the struggle of figuring out what path to take whether we're heading off to college entering the workforce taking a gap year or enlisting in the military life will provide will provide us with challenges on a daily basis but remembering Our Roots will help us make wise choices and Achieve our dreams I'm confident our experiences have United us and we will carry forward everything we've learned we didn't just finish high school we survived it just because I stand before you doesn't mean I'm immune to Being Human I've made mistakes faced challenges and learned hard lessons along the way as many of you know I've poured my heart into a excelling academically and in extracurriculars constantly pushing myself to achieve more yet despite my successes there's always that nagging voice telling me it wasn't good enough perfectionism both my driving force and my greatest obstacle for nights on end I obsessed over tiny slip-ups scared that anything less than perfect would ruin what I've accomplished I eventually realized how damaging that mindset was for my wellbeing I no longer sought validation but instead just to make it to the next day I began allowing myself to make mistakes which taught me to forgive myself and others so to my fellow graduates I urge you to embrace the imperfections that makes us human and to celebrate the journey not just a destination because it's our flaws and failures that we find strength resilience and ultimately true success now for the parents who have not understood much of what I've been saying due to a language barrier this part is for you [Music] I would now like to thank our dedicated staff thank you for the behind the-scenes work that keeps our school going thank you to all the faculty for guiding us our class through through both academic and personal growth I'd like to give a special thank you to these teachers on behalf of many students thank you to Mr rathy for always teaching us more than just the curriculum thank you to miss Dean for not just making but also capturing amazing memories and to miss W who always offered a safe space with open ears the next thank you goes to someone whose small act of kindness changed the trajectory of my life who is the pece to my chaos and who heals who heals me just by being by my side and for that thank you Owen now my family to my younger brother Jacob thank you for reminding me to never take life too seriously and for allowing me to share my passions with you thank you to my older sister Melissa I genuinely believe that God planned our Sisterhood with purpose through every Triumph and hardship you Lifted Me Up countless of times and have been the most incredible role model to my stepdad who told me that I set my own limitations thank you and thank you to my dad for always reminding me that I am loved lastly thank you to my beautiful mom now let's remember now let's remember that our journey doesn't end here it's just the beginning congratulations class of [Applause] 2024 okay good good evening ganders and Gander family I am Andrea Lopez the valorian of Le High School class of 2024 I would like to say I would like to say congratulations to all the graduates for completing your high school careers we finally made it to the Finish Line our prison sentence I'm sorry I mean High School is finally over I'm glad to stand to be standing on the stage today giving the speech it has been a long trying four years I speak now to tell you that our hard work and diligence has paid off we are now entering a new chapter of Our Lives I know this can feel daunting at times you might wish that you never grew up I know I do but we must face the inevitable responsibilities of adulthood we are fresh out the slammer and we have to decide what we want for our future though school has been stressful and tedious at times we have also had a lot of great memories and created lifelong friendships over the past four years we as a class have bonded over the trying times and the exciting celebrations we started our high school journey in the midst of covid-19 learning from home on our iPads it's been difficult to concentrate we were prone to distractions and sleeping through class but we made it here over the course of our high school era we have had many laughs and fun experiences we got to witness our teacher versus Senior volleyball games for the past two years our junior year was especially fun to witness I remember all too well how coach Bishop forgot he was not playing soccer and used his head to hit the ball into the bleachers and now and how can we forget the time we managed to not fall off those rickety bleachers during our panoramic pictures these past four years have brought many challenges at times feeling like a treacherous Trek through the woods at every turn we have been dodging cumbersome trees forging through the dark and unknown but we have finally made it out of the woods are and are now in our Field of Dreams and possibilities we are here to celebrate and commemorate the hard work effort and time that we've all put into getting to this point breathe relax and take it all in enjoy the fruits of your labor you've earned it today brings forward a concoction of emotions within us that can vary from excitement to dread relief to apprehension for to for me today is a sad beautiful tragic occasion it marks the beginning of a new era in our lives in which we venture into adulthood and lose the comfort and safety of childhood but gain more Independence and the ability to pursue our life's aspirations as we walk across stage Savor the moment you only graduate from high school once while you sit here recall the times you and your friends were laughing in the hallway think of your accomplishments that you worked tirelessly for remember the teachers and mentors that got you through your worst times and celebrate the good times with you but most of all recollect the memories you made on your journey these past four years and learn from those experiences now that high school is over we all have many decisions to make and a multitude of paths to choose we can choose to travel after today it will hit you that everything has changed no more 8 hour school days no more Walking The Halls with your friends no more getting yelled at by teachers to get to class this new era of Our Lives brings us more Independence responsibility and possibility moving forward I implore you to leave any bad blood you have behind start fresh this is your chance to begin again and take a chance on your wildest dreams as you venture out into the world take risks and be Fearless don't be afraid to jump than fall because failure is essential to growth and learning you have many choices to make and I hope you strive to improve yourselves and do good by others no matter what your past looks like or how many mistakes you've made getting here you deserve happiness and the chance to achieve your goals long story short this is me trying to say that you should hold on to the memories you made along your journey but don't let the past Define your destination before I conclude the speech I would like to thank the people that have supported me over the years and those that have made my time at school enjoyable ID like to give the biggest shout out to my parents because I would not exist if it weren't for them and I would like to thank my dad for helping me with my physics homework that one time that he will not let me forget and I would like to thank my parents my brother my grandparents my Theos and theas and my cousins for being there for all of my Milestones my birthdays and my volleyball and soccer games thank you to my extended family for coming out of town to be here hi guys I've had many learning experiences and good memories over the past four years many of which are from volleyball and soccer to my teammates I would like to thank you for making the sport enjoyable we've been through a lot together we've lost and won together we've had fun and gone through tough times together we've had fun I will always remember my time on the volleyball and soccer teams I have learned so much about teamwork and communication I went into High School shy and timid but my teammates miraculously managed to wear down my antisocial bubble they just wouldn't leave me alone but I'm pretty grateful that they persisted in their efforts to get me to open up it turns out being a part of a team is a lot more fun when you talk to your teammates who would have guessed thank you to my coaches and band directors for your guidance and support I would like to give a special thanks to coach Renee for helping develop my volleyball skills and giving great life advice for the past four years I also like to recognize the teachers that are leading Lee with us this year including Mr Blue Mr rathy Miss Hoy and our assistant band director Miss Smith is a sad time for Lee losing all these great teachers I wish you and the class of 2024 luck on your future endeavors we will always remember the story of us the class of 2024 we all share memories and experiences over the years that we will look back on leave this graduation with pride in yourselves and the colors maroon and white now it's time to go our separate ways and pave our own pass into the world so the speech has been going on for quite a few minutes and I'm sure we're all you're all wondering is it over now and the answer is no I still got um let's see 10 minutes of speech left just getting just kidding I think I I think at
