went by the I uh uh a show that that Sunday when I got in cuz I've been on tour we've been on that Comedy Festival tour me some more Tony Roberts Bill Bellamy and myself headliner the joining uh we would just got off the road from Greensboro North Carolina and Little Rock yeah and I flew right here man I didn't even go home I I I was just like had to perform that night so I was just working man so I just went around it was getting but we went to the live Factory that evening cuz I had been a Laugh Factory in almost 15 years wow so and then I went up and they oh you got to go up and but it was good man it was just you know good to just go up and feel be be that young comic again you know my mind did you perform or was you working out oh I I perform I get on stage I I put in work with you with them dun Bells I get you gra a mic it's on you know what I'm saying I don't get up there and play like you know so you don't work out no more you just experiment with it no when I my my me getting on stage is an experiment I I might talk about anything in the world I just bring it up okay I mean that's where my gift was anyway I could talk about whatever moment I was in and make it a show yeah anytime you know and that's and that's my muscle it's a muscle memory you know just like boxing Jiu Jitsu anything you once you practice that it's natural I come up and I might talked about that you young men think that they always got to prove their s and once I once I learned that that that wasn't me my granddaddy saved my life too because like I said I went into fishing and saved my life and that's some of the things that kept me going my father was there you know so you could go down that street but I wasn't going down that street we would get helping out fighting and stuff but I wasn't trying to do that but he was he he was a high head over a high head he was going to start stuff with everybody and it got up with him you know and I think that's what really kept me from being up because I ain't got nothing to prove to nobody like even my comedy you know I go up and I love doing this and the crowd I love doing it and this SE Separates Me From Another comedians because they I go hard all the time I'm not going to not go up here and and get a stand up because you my boy and I don't want you to look bad you better get you one step it up right I'm I go up and prove myself all the time and God gave me such a great a great gift to be lucrative in my life yeah so I just I just changed my whole mode of operation yeah you know to a point where hey man I ain't no bad guy I was a little chunky nerd little motherucker they turn were you always were you always funny though were you like the class I was clever I wasn't a Class Clown but I was very good at making people laugh for you know I can fight but once I get on my back I was like a turtle so know it was hard to get hard to get get off me get off me get off me you know so I would make people laugh you know and talk about you know I I got really good at making people laugh talking about the outfits making making funny corny jokes and people like you so corny but it's funny and I would find ways of making people laugh I watch and I love bgs bunny and how and the three and how they would say little smart stuff and how I would just run that in my brain and being quick and clever and I think that that helped me out you know get out of Harm's Way but I still had you know you had your bullets but they didn't know I once I realized I was bigger than all the kids that I was bully me and they once you know that's right when once you that's why when you know your worth you know what I'm saying and you realize you can grab them throw they ass all over Place one time I threw one boy all the way down the street I was like damn I'm strong and I just I had two kids down holding them down like this they like that get over get over and I couldn't believe it then I start realizing and one dude that I was really scared of he didn't even I didn't even fight him but he SE me beat those two kids at once he's hey man you want to go play go once I realized that it was kind of over you know what I'm saying cuz I was Country Strong you know I was chunky but I was strong as hell did you play sports yeah I played football all the way to college and oh wow I tried out I played I I had tried out for the Kansas City Chiefs Where damn so you was kind of good if you tried out I was I was decent I was offensive lineman and then I you know I played the defense my brother over there he got inspired by me he ain't going to meet it but I brought I got I got that's your brother thought he he he slash by Go slash manager brother he just help you know my family so you know but I I played you know I wrestle wrestle was one of my top sports cuz I went all the way I I I had two like parts of scholarships and wrestling and I when I went to college I didn't get one out of uh high school but when I got up there and I played on the team they was about to give me a a football scholarship because I was I was planking cats you know I was out there I was good I was yeah I'm putting people on their back and I and I was Fearless but just had you know it just wasn't my path you know I tried was your passion yeah I loved it but I didn't love it I love playing I just didn't like to practice yeah you know I practice I could get rid of practice alen ion [ __ ] like practice I mean like we going in the game I'm ready but you don't know to play I'll get I'll find it but if you but you know what if you see a through line when I ask you did you work out and comedy you said no you said I'll just go so you always had that practice I do yeah yeah I mean because I you know I had a great imagination I see a game play and I see I can see what they missing over here and I get in and I go right there and I knock that dude out they like why you how you know they kept I said they kept on slanting to the left and I watched him slant through left and I would go over there and get it sometimes I get him and sometimes the coach keep on see me go they say why you keep going up I see it he said man that's a idea so he'll put somebody in that's faster than me CU I couldn't H the corners as fast CU they get me but I would get his leg but I wouldn't be able to get you know yeah so but that's how it was you know I watch when I watch other people I that's how I learned cuz I cuz when in practice they'll coach you and make you you run up a hill thousand times because you didn't get to play right like my son he plays basketball he play ebl and they get mad because they don't go through the thing I said but when you get out there that all changes them plays are stupid when you get out there I just want you like I tell them I said I want you to be a playmaker you know how to get open you get away from your uh your the person that's trying to defend you and you get open you know where the basket is plant your body when you get there and you see a dude calling you you want to be shooting over his head before you get there I said those things that you learn not you learn them just knowing hey man this is my art I'm GNA do my art this way and that's when I get on stage I watch if I go up like third last and I watch the audience I see that he talking about this and I see they ain't feeling I said oh I got to come a different way now if everybody there talking about sex I ain't going to talk about sex I and if I'm going to talk about it I'm going to talk about the stuff that y'all don't say I'm I'mma say I'mma talk about myself bad like man I'm a horrible lover you know I got I'm done in the 30 seconds I mean but I it's a good 30 seconds you know what I'm saying I mean they be mad but at least we got time to go get some blunch you right but you still freestyle all day long all day long that's a little I think that's a little old school cuz now it's like if they don't have that script in that writer go no it's not old school it's it's a lot of a lot of people that still they if they get past they may improp a little bit but they go to that same material all the time some of them don't change up and if they and if it don't work for them you can see it when the crowd sometimes the crowd you gonna get a crowd that may I mean they may not laugh as hard as you used to because audience all audience ride on something different like last night for example all this weekend you know I I don't never got to go first and people and and I'll be like man I want to go first I want to get first blood but but the powerful thing about what I you know I got to watch and I watch The Comedians and I see them get them cool laughs and I said man you don't you don't push that joke yeah you know and I say oh this what I'mma do you know if I this what I would have said if I would have got up there and that's how I do you know because sometimes L is last is the advantage because I see you up there doing something that you got so I know I can't talk about that so what I go up there and do is talk about something that nobody else said in the place like I walked up there last night you know after all the Comedians and I talked about the club I said man California do not remodel they don't they don't I said this look like the saloon from the Y wild west where John R and and Buffalo Bill had a shot had a shootout right here in the nightclub I said right over there was old [ __ ] on the piano I was doing all that and the uh people were holling because nobody said nothing about it but I did and I didn't got threatened before somebody night club man don't be talking about my club I [ __ ] will clean this [ __ ] up move some of these dead bugs and rats out of here you know but I talk about things that people can and they get comfortable cuz a lot of time they get tired they be like maybe they be like and you bring them back to life talking about something yeah right right let me ask you this do you do you have to change uh for performing in front of a black crowd opposed to a white crowd hell no okay so the funny funny bro I mean I didn't know I didn't know I was black George I got my book over here you know exactly and and but they they know our stuff more than we do and I mean and when it comes down to it if you watch every from sord and son to Good Time them shows Wen on because of us yeah you know talking about that yeah but white people watch them shows black folks we we don't we don't generate our own money my money comes from my white fans coming and with my black fans cuz you have to they have to tell our people who they think is funny before we accept like on the on this Netflix a joke my show had a lot of black folks there but it was a lot of the Friday [ __ ] you see me on this stage though you don't got to see me in no [ __ ] movie you know where I am but you got Latinos and Asian and even Indians the piles and them them some [ __ ] go and sell Russell Russell Peters sells out Arenas with his people alone yeah you know and I think every black comedian should have to without having to be on a big ass uh comedy C [ __ ] Comedy Circus [ __ ] on the damn show you don't even know if you going to get your damn check cuz they got when you go up I think 49th you know but but but why we got to do that you know what what we we set the of the [ __ ] of Gatekeepers Gatekeepers are not [ __ ] real cuz you're not most black people don't have enough power to turn off a flashlight so they they they may have you know they they power power is limited I mean you got some you got some brothers that maybe can't do manipulation sh but but most of the time we got to answer to answer to answer to answer you know we don't have no [ __ ] where we can do nothing ourself but we will stop our own of course you're a gatekeeper on your own and which that's real [ __ ] up that you are one of them people that slow down somebody else because you want to have a little power trip and that's some punk [ __ ] and that's all that is is and so when they talk about gatekeeper that means you [ __ ] on somebody because you don't want them to get the little crumbs that you get like it's only there only this much money man it's so much [ __ ] money out here in this [ __ ] world that they have they they have to throw it and burn it away and you sitting up here worried about me getting a couple more just like you said the Drake and [ __ ] uh Rick rocks aring about you in a [ __ ] house or this and that n [ __ ] in big ass houses that can can put about families of like 3500 in there and they could live without even seeing each other cities so houses so big they cities that is a fact I mean they for real got cars that they'll never drive that lville Crawford is the real formula of the game see they their formulas they they oh he's great he's doing this but then they see a [ __ ] like me come up right behind and they go oh my God what while I know but they but they all did they said they all killed did good you know the crowd they said man great crowd great crowd so when I went up and they said it was a great crowd I went up and when I got done the whole place was standing on their damn feet and roaring and it's not like I'm too my own horn I mean they got videos you know you it ain't like I don't n you've been around forever though yeah but no and that don't even matter you know because you can some [ __ ] going to be around forever and you like okay he's I still like him he's an icon you know I mean he don't have to be as funny as that no no yes he does how you become a [ __ ] icon he ain't bringing nothing you know that's why I look at like Bernie Mack if Bernie Mac was still alive Burnie ma gonna come up and that [ __ ] set it on right you understand what I'm saying that them them people and he had a gate he had gatekeeper because when he got his success it was people saying they can't understand what the [ __ ] he's saying [ __ ] on him like he he can't but they but Talent shines no matter what you do so I had a lot of people slow me slow my my move down to a point of you know they they say they where I had to go other routes I mean I had to go routes because these people know me and and and what I'm doing what I look at now the young comments that grow grew up watching the veil they come up and they have opportunities and they bring me on with them yeah and I just said man sometimes you can't [ __ ] on people because because they younger than because they might can come in I mean movies I've got in is because of young fans not none of these suckers that they know except for Adam Sal but but these cats out here got opportunities won't even call me know I kill that [ __ ] but they scared that they can't keep up with me that's crazy though and so that when you talk about that gatekeeper that's all it is inse yeah it's just insecure people that make up make up their mind to not let you better than that now kid so you can laugh at it but it was funny but it was like he got in the game he got the rebound he got the be he ready he took all running to the wrong wrong go he run that go mean he playing top teams I mean they ain't beating all of them but they beating some of them but it's just like he getting this be he getting to be seen because he went he played for his high schoool and was a lot of [ __ ] politics and the dumb dumb ass coach no not them [ __ ] Did You Wrong he like Dad come on you going make it hard for me you going to make hard for me you going to be all right though you get back there they GNA be pining for your ass but everybody he could he the strange thing about him that's so amazing to him the amazing thing about him about when me talking about him he he was a prime example of that because he didn't never play organized basketball but when he first got out there these coaches were yelling at him like no no go live you supposed to pass the ball in and and I was like dude chill you know he don't he he never played before so you know they a know AA they kind of you know they you know you got all these want to be NBA coaches a they sit behind the desk ain't never shot a basketball was sitting out there ding like they all walking around like they all feel Jackson and but they don't know nothing really about yelling at you know third graders you know what I'm saying so his progress his brother worked with him I go out there and play with him we go out there and he started learning how to handle himself two years later he goes into another team you want heard about he walks in there clowning and the co the same coach that was yelling at him and judging him was freaking out we need him we need him we need him so it it showed that when they don't celebrate you yeah you go away and you go do your thing and go where you celebrate and once you get there and now he can play with any any team in the league now because he playing on this team and they coaching like they they going to play the NBA you know what I'm saying but the thing about it is he made that team he they they cut him on his high school team for no reason and he should have made it but it was a lot of you know you know people be having their children and their kids go to the D school and they have influen and see well I'm L Crawford I can donate but I I'm not going to do that so my child can be a viable some [ __ ] you know I mean it's basketball it's Junior League and now I think if he earned it he going he going to want to do it so and if if that's the case I got to waste a lot of money so you can be something and I don't have to do that I'm going to give you a inheritance but the inheritance I'm going to give you is the will to survive and and the other part is you know the monetary thing you going if you know how to get it you going to always get it that's right But but so when he went over here he didn't make that team but he went over to the ebl it was a big old trial and he was one of the kids they called to come to the they said it was a second trial next thing know he made the damn team and he was impressed because he wasn't he didn't think he was going to make the trial but he made the team he went out there went his best and the one him and his other guy that went to his school they went out but all the kids that didn't make it they was like you made that thing cuz they you know kids be weighing up off of uh a moment that you had and see and I look at him I look at him and I look at myself man everything opportunity I had I never squandered it but I I got Short change last com of standing I should have won but I didn't win I mean you know I uh you know uh for Grammy I nominated for a Grammy and you know but I thought it was epic but I won a sag award and I ain't I went to acting class but I ain't never think I going I walk right past Oprah looking like yeah yeah look at that over I pointed I pointed the four for I pointed to his bad eye he he he tried to look away but I walked up on Breaking Bad We all got a war we sitting up there with our war and I couldn't believe it because I never stopped I go hard anything I do I I and I learned when I was a kid like you know I learned that you got to practice yeah you know I didn't like practice but but do you feel like comedy is the same though because do you feel like people have it or they don't because I feel like you have a gift that you cultivated versus somebody trying to you can have someone that's a great comic and someone who just does comedy good you know what I mean well I mean both of them are great because a person that that do comedy good he can become great if he keep on striving for because you have to have a spark of Comedy see some people you know people think that I just got in and I just became funny no I [ __ ] I got gong I got I got I went through ridicule things where I I mean I got off stage and I wish I never would have walked over prime example I came up here uh and I I won a contest and I got a manager Kim Cole from Living Single we had Tommy Davis we all had the same manager he felt he just knew I was the [ __ ] because I want the thing he said man this guy great I got up there to LA to you know giant LA and I got scared CU I I don't know why New York I love but La was one of them places where it wasn't always you know and I and I had to go up and big big audition big showcase it was a lot of I don't know who was there I was a little bit nervous Kim Co and that's when Death Jam was real hot man and who who walks in who became real hot from Death Jam but Chris Tucker Chris Tucker he was that skinny Chris Tucker right right after Friday he man and I Kim Co oh my God he here he here and I'm like okay you know he can go last they going to put him up right before me yeah and he went up and I mean he didn't really do nothing that I think but he the person this him being who he was yeah was was enough at that time in Hollywood and when I went up I couldn't get him like I thought I could I couldn't I I felt like I I let him let him rock me with a left hook you know I'm saying I was like oh [ __ ] you know I just swing swing you know it was like I didn't have you know what it's funny that you say that because I don't want to call no names but I do see some Comics that are also actors comedic actors it seemed like once they like once they get in the movies they get a little lazy with the standup because it's like they don't really have to try I don't think it's the movie is the money it's the money because they can just be silly not really have have you know and I it's I see that a lot with it it be the money but but but were they were they who you talking about were they strong comedians um initially when they were hungry yes yes but then once they kind of got CU I think the public like you said it's Chris Tucker oh he's so funny and it's like no you're going off of the character and just the you know the popularity but is he really funny right now in this moment on stage and the thing about Chris Tucker was he was a young kid when he kind of got hot and he he wasn't strongest stand up but he was funny but he had a per it was a per he you know him and DC Young fire are so much alike DC Young got a act but his personality he's a wonderful person Chris Tucker a wonderful person and you know full swing aead I was just with Chris tuck and he grabbed me and huged me all time you funny brother man you so funny and see you know that's how I know that we was gonna meet again he was like he didn't blow me out stage it just was a night that I you know was ready you know and if that Cal in La you it it it it it sharpens your teeth you know because you you get you know know who gonna come up and put like d pel might show up but now Delle show up my show I said go ahead [ __ ] yeah go here because when you get off yeah I'm going to make you think about the 90s okay uh so kind of back in the day y'all really had to make your bones you really had to be good you had to get up there you had to grind you had to do the little rooms the big rooms the special and [ __ ] like that can Bo the [ __ ] out but let me ask you now what are your thoughts about the new comics and the social media air uh I think they're getting pampered I think that I think it's a lot of talented kids and because black people always talented that's right I I don't take nothing away from none of these guys to make it on social media because you have to be smart and diligent to be able to pull that off man you if you ever try to make a little video to try to and then you got to learn how to upload the son of a [ __ ] and you like man look I all that white on my mouth let me redo this [ __ ] and then before you know this loaded and everybody damn [ __ ] what you sick the crackhead you know and so if the the work they have to put into that you know I have no judgment I think that I like I said I'm I don't believe in I don't believe these Gatekeepers they [ __ ] you know because I think there's room for everybody and whatever opportunity they open up they can probably open up for you I mean you never know you know I mean because you long long as there talented people out there that means this is going to be opportunities for everybody if you don't have nobody being good and there not not a new hamburger or a new uh way of restaurant nobody's going to there's not going to be a place know where nobody going to get mdon the rest of your life or Burger so let me ask you this Lille um um who you you early on as a comic who were your influences oh man uh I had family members that was funny as [ __ ] that my uncle Bush them and my cousin Tony them they was funny my mama was funny because she say anything out of that damn mouth yeah and my mama like I see on stage my mama prees against fat people she we go to go to k before and this is back when she was still chunky she didn't lost L she she be real Slim but you know she she said I ain't that damn big she be like girl look look look over there look oh Lord now she know her big ass now she going right over to the chicken let me go over and get a plate for us H room I'm like M leave that lady alone her sandals ain't even all the way on you know hey you got a classic joke though the the one where you said you and your mama talked about each other's mama oh yeah I remember that did that really happen kind of sort kind of sort kind of you know I'm I'm you know I'm I'm in ellish you know I I high purple but yeah my mama can go there hey let's talk about H babau H babau uh Breaking Bad how did you come across how did you come about getting that role uh [ __ ] I tell that story all the time it's funny because we had just moved out there this we before this probably Chanel probably I don't know if she knew you yet cuz she was some little girl I think it was her name uh Jazzy or whatever you hear Jazzy and stole $100 from my anyway I ain't going to say nothing but you know but that's when Chanel you know we was moving we we I was moving my wife and kids out here you know to LA and I thought it would be an easy transition we moved out here we taking in the school we going over to the school by over there it was like East Hollywood High and we walk in and then I said yes we trying to set our daughter up for school he said well here's the old guideline and this is for the gang since know what to and I was like oh no [ __ ] that I guess I'm have to must up private school money my baby ain't going over here to this crazy [ __ ] and then that's when we found out about Birmingham and you know we found a California you don't have to be in districts to go to school so that was a blessing and she got over there I mean Birmingham was nice she met Rachel but it was a lot of craziness over there but she but she was able to she was able to you know to morph into something over there so but I we know we had moved up here man it was exhausting and being moving to California and then plus having a family I lived up here and then I moved away and then I moved back and know and traveling from going to do the gigs like I do Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday and then I had to get on the plane on on Monday come all the way back to LA 5 hour drive 5 hour flight and I I got a new manager he said hey man I got got a audition for you I said oh man can they wait till the M I said I am through he you know because once you get to La you get in a car you got traffic and then you got to go you go get something to eat you you you ain't trying to go do no Dam don't understand that outside LA and this this audition was 6:30 in the evening you know right to go record no you no man you had to get there so I had to go I forgot was over in Santa Monica somewhere over there and I had to go over and do the AUD it was four people he said they need you today can't do tomorrow and it was Breaking Bad and I had even watch Breaking Bad this was like when it was in an infantile kind of state so I went in there I went in there for Lucius the truck driver I ain't even go in there for Hugh I went in there for that and I did good on the read he said man that was great man can you read this one line and I was like huh yeah read this one line I was like weird clothes it was one freaking lying and he gu said say it again I said weird clothes say he said say it again weird clothes he said can you start Wednesday like off of that one line I've been I did thousands of audition and that one time I knew it was from God that's right it was God all the way because God when God do something it's so simple you be thinking you can see when God working people be like oh God I know where God when he does it it's almost like here it is it was been here all along I like oh thank you God I thought I thought I had to dig in the ground and do no I thought I had to kill kill a sheep they said that in the Bible no you ain't got to do all that you know this is what God does and man I got it I went down there I'm sitting on the set with J Carlo Esposito Brian crashing from Malcolm in the Middle I'm sitting up here uh I think Danny tro was walking past I'm sitting there like holy [ __ ] I'm in a mega now I mean we in Albuquerque I mean it's big I got my own room I got my own car I'm sitting up like what the [ __ ] I said cuz they said I was going to play a security guard I thought it was just es just sit there how you doing Mr Jean and then I just go home no and then Bob Olden Kirk I knew all these [ __ ] I was like wow look at this I'm sitting here doing this and next thing you know it parlayed five years later I'm I'm still on this show man doing this and how prolific it was I didn't even know how big this damn thing got it's so freaking big it's big today I leave a theater show it's fools outside waiting for me not calling fools but they outside waiting for me to sign autograph some some [ __ ] called my wife phone telling her I'mma be out there with pictures I don't want to know if he going to sign my pons and I had had my brother threaten it something [ __ ] because I like don't call my damn my wife spooked I'm spooked I'm like what the [ __ ] is this how did he get my number yeah it was crazy right you know but I checked him I said don't you he said you [ __ ] call my wife on he going talk about by mistake I said by mistake my foot in your ass yeah say say my mistake I said I said do don't you ever do no [ __ ] like that over a damn autograph right and he he was like I'm ter sorry sir can you mind signing this stuff for and I said I sign one thing and then cuz he he had his boy with him and I guess his boy supposed to look like a gang but when he seen my big ass brother he was like oh [ __ ] his his [ __ ] beat my [ __ ] yeah you know so he said his [ __ ] be my yeah and then way I was talking he was like [ __ ] I thought he was a nice guy from Breaking Bad this [ __ ] FR he is you and I am you that's why they hire me that I'm you know people think n i a one you want to really [ __ ] with you don't know nothing about me but but but but let me I was going I'm sorry let me finish but it was one of the most epic OPP and well it's turned into better called sa I mean people talk to me sit down and they would talk my head off about some [ __ ] I already film and know about and they was just man it was just so incredible one guy came to tears off of this show wow wow have you ever met a celebrity like you get people to meet you and they Star Struck and they just love what you do have you ever met a celebrity and maybe you know now that you in in the business and they rub you the wrong way it's like damn I likeed you you but now you're an [ __ ] and you played me and I'm not a fan no more and the reason I asked is because I I have run don't don't you don't never want to meet the your idol sometime cuz you know you have your idea them and then sometime you can meet them and be like [ __ ] D it just mess you I'm always this is little advice I can give you cour when you see somebody that you admire always understand and just understand you don't know what kind of day they going to have that's right and so just give them that benefit so because sometime you may not you may may may not want to speak may not you know may not have they might have had something terrible happen we don't know yeah that's right so and like people catch me man I might my wife me and my might have had words and you catch me and I be like what you know I mean you know and that because people always yeah yeah people catch you in those moments but to answer your question you know I've been blessed that I ran into the people I now one time I did run into like I fish I love the fish I got a lot of fans in the fishing World a lot of lot of uh people that I admire in the fishing world like uh this dud isman R he black bad Prof Fisher only one bad Prof Fisher and then and I was like oh [ __ ] Inman R man wow man man it's an honor brother can I get an autograph man I don't do no damn autograph damn I say [ __ ] the [ __ ] you I said I catch your ass later and I'm going beat your ass in the Bass Classic and that's what I told him so my goal is to get in the bad classic and I'mma beat his ass I don't care if it's just me he take 39th and I take 38th I just want to let him know but and I think you know but I met I got a couple of them I one time I was at the Magic Johnson magic show uhuh uh not the M show where he had this Midsummer Night Dream he does here back in the day and and we went Gary on got he he hooked us up we got went with him CU he was him and mat was cool so we went to the thing and and uh and Mike Tyson was there right and and I was like oh [ __ ] Mike Tyson so my boy walked up to him said champ can I get a photo with you and he had he my boy a photographer he a comedian too Roman Murray and he said sure sure sure and so he took a picture with his ass right so I said Mike can I give one to and he went and I went and look look and I went on M [ __ ] you [ __ ] but I ain't say it out loud I ain't want to get my fat ass whooped up in this damn party and they told me he beat my ass but the weird circle like I said all full circle I did a big show in Vegas right Mike me Mike helps we all on the show and and if somebody in front of the audience Tred to heck him and I dusted his ass yeah Mike Tyson was sitting right next to him but we lord behold we going on the elevator going up Mike Tyson on the elevator I was like hey Mike how you doing he went hey L it was almost like he look like n [ __ ] I don't want none of that I don't I mean I you think he remembered you from not want picture I don't know I don't I I don't know if he does or not but we but but I tell you what when he he saw me he was like oh this [ __ ] crazy he'll talk about you like a dog and I don't want that words hurt more than punches hey they do sometimes you ain't R it to no rappers out here well you bringing that you bringing that bringing up rappers now let me just tell you this that you talking about celebrity that I admired I I I didn't admire but I I liked I didn't even listen to his music music like that but my kids did my kids my kids like so I was booy you know you know I'm like you know I he ain't recognizing me and I you know I lost a few pounds probably don't know him I don't know if you if you ever knew me or not I don't care but I was just like you think you ready for the business the [ __ ] strolls over to the when he was in Atlanta gate and he just sits down in the chair so I'm standing there looking goofy as [ __ ] you know I'm I'm trying to get to my gate I'm like I don't know how to approach this so I was like you ready for the picture Mr and this [ __ ] pulled his phone out just like this right in front of like this [ __ ] up here wearing he ain't even dialed it he ain't even like me about a goddamn photo and I'm like I said [ __ ] you ain't even got no security around me I can choke your diabetes out of you immediately but I I you know yeah it was one of those things where it was one of those things where I I I said you Chanel love this story chenel be laughing so bad it make me mad because you know I'm craw I'm know like I had slowed down doing a lot of these interviews cuz I'm I I just talk right and but the but like we said this Society then became so not calling nobody a punk but people didn't got real you ain't no goddamn RIS but it's so much you know you know when you got out here people walking up hiking my wife loved to hike she want to hike I said we got to stop all that [ __ ] and she talking about you was the hike when you was big you just slam down you don't want to hike I said [ __ ] I didn't made it I don't need do that [ __ ] no more and then now but look back then when I was big a mountain line weighed me up like I can't bite that [ __ ] but now he like I take him you know so so you know I when you know when I got you know I I wanted to you know have weight loss surgery and I had some [ __ ] up doctors that that that scared me away from and they would give me diabetes medicine I mean if you know about diabetes they they they had like one'll [ __ ] up your liver one make the ose make you fat make you retain water but it supposed to lower your blood suen but you fat but you supposed to lose weight but you retaining water I'm like what the [ __ ] I eat it I get fat but keep a diabetes High I can't do nothing now they didn't came out with this one pill now where [ __ ] evaporating that o zpic they got they got this old [ __ ] that take that they just shrink down in two minutes and they look weird as [ __ ] I said I ain't want that one because you know cuz I could you eat through a diet pill I used to eat take Dex trim and then go get a 15 p i remember Dex Tri I drink a slim P I drink my w w with a slim F shake [ __ ] it didn't stop nothing let me did you have a health scare or is just something you wanted to do for you well when I got diabetes and then you know I think I did have some health scares like you know when I got my wife who you know she has been such she elevated me yeah in other levels my whole being being a father she she she gave me the gift of Junior and my and d'angela and Chanel and I mean once you start having that in your life and Junior when he was born was like oh my God I love this dude I love him now when he was a baby I just seen him and I couldn't believe it him I just didn't want to be a fat dad you know and then I was having you know problem where I didn't know you know you when you have high blood pressure any what water can get up in your your heart and I was having problem breathing and then you know even though I was a big kid big guy I I was athletic I was going I was wearing like 450 500 pound out there doing Jiu-Jitsu and I used to have a move called called a titty tap you know you know I get on top of your ass and put all that weight on your ass tap out and I was kicking ass that stuff and I would move around I would move good with my way people like man how you move I say man you know I've been this big all my life and I know how to move you know but in the midst of it when I started breathing hard and and I can I was like man walk three or four feet and I'm starting to breathe and I walk up and step you know all that [ __ ] she like damn and you know and then like I was gonna go to sleep yeah and I wasn't going to wake up and then I said then I thought about it I said I love the Lord and he gave me such a wonderful life I'm able to be a successful comedian people know me I don't give a [ __ ] about Dave Chappelle being that level or those levels but I didn't made it right from where I came from I Didn't made it kit cast in my hometown s rever me can't believe that where we came from where we are and I'm squandering that because I can't give up a c a bun you know what I'm saying I'm sing there cuz I can't put the POR chop down yeah and you know and I get my health together to a point cuz I mean you know like I you know I used to work out heavy too I mean I man I was benching like five pounds dude I was strong as fck I was a monster you know I had chest like like a a dress or drawer I boom you know but then once she stop you work out but you stop and you stop and I didn't start really getting fat fat until I could afford to eat you what I'm saying cuz when I when I was you know when I couldn't afford to go to Maddon I was just chunky but when I could go Rich grou Chris that's when w started pulling on they putting butt on that steak so those scares and then I my baby sister she had the weight loss surgery and she had the the full one where they had to redo her stomach and she was beautiful she she she she she lost the weight and she looked like a supermodel man and she looked great and she still holding on with it she act her her regimen and change and I said damn if she could do it cuz like I was I a fellow actor he passed away I you might have seen him on boys meet world and all that and I knew the guy when we was in audition together a lot and we they thought we was Brothers but he had wind up having a weight loss surgery and W up dying and it scared me back then that was before medicine got into the laser surgery and [ __ ] so once and I had laser surgery for when I got my appendant taken out and it was it was great no scars really nothing all so but when they said that he could do that for this weight loss surgery I said okay and my baby sister had it and I said I'm G to do it and I they told me they asked me I had to lose it people say how much weight you had to lose before it do it CU that's a dirty [ __ ] they do you you lose 300 lb we'll give you the surgery I said [ __ ] if I lose 300 lb I won't need the surgery I don't need you but but but they only asked me to lose like 40 lbs cuz I was pretty solid I was a solid dude you know but I you know I was big you know so when I lost the 40 lbs it wind up being like 80 lbs and then I went in had the surgery and I dropped weight so fast my body was like man there there you go boom boom and it started dropping real quick you know I got lost like 155 pounds in like a year and a half wow and I I was like stay around 298 you know but you know I didn't want to get weird skinny you know what I'm saying I mean cuz you kind of got a big frame so too small I I look like I look like Mr Incredible I got big ass chest that's how people call Johnny Bravo body you know what I'm saying and so so yeah so when I I and once I got it I felt felt better I was able to play ball with my son be around my wife and and like you know try we building and you know she's an incredible woman I may not tell it all the time but I love her to death and I if anybody try to take her I'll rip their throat out and eat beautiful yeah so so you know the thing about it you know it's it's a great it's a great God bless me to have two lives you know you know one with biscuit and one without biscuit so real quick man you got a new special coming out talk about that real quick oh man you know uh we you already said nextflix and that's where it's going we we put it in the can so C did it in coina man cuz I my last special came out was the Lael Crawford and know because everybody I always say like when I meet people they always say are you l he said I said yeah they said the L Crawford I said that's right the L Crawford so when that one came out I did that one in New Orleans so I taped this one down in Cina at the laugh factor in coina great little club and I [ __ ] went up there and I just let it go and I wind up doing two hours wor to Comedy and the guy tried to edit it he said [ __ ] we can't edit all this funny [ __ ] out we gonna leave it all in so we got two specials oh wow in one night damn nobody has ever nobody ever did that where they got two specials in one I got two shows and then we trying to S like we could do part one and then come back and do part two and it's a whole different [ __ ] nice so so that that's where we at so you know that's what I told myself I told I told one ex the other night she was like seriously I said [ __ ] seriously yeah you go and check it out so hopefully you know we're gonna we going to see this happen you know soon but they said wait till all the business go they got so much to do with this for sure for sure ask him don't forget ask him about mindset especially coming from the small town that he came from for leg build yes so I have a new uh community that I created called uh Legacy Builders which is focuses on mindset strategies mind money and motivation okay so um real quick um you coming from St Louis the Midwest well and it wasn't you know I mean we from the Midwest so it ain't a lot of Industry there you know what I'm saying but St Louis always kind of had a little thing going but what was the the mindset that you had to have to get out of that and then once you made it to be able to still stay hungry you know I mean and maintain it well being there and not wan to go back to it and like I think you know I I think what made me want to get out of there is like everybody down there trying to impress the [ __ ] next door and that was waste of time and then like I knew that if I can make these evil ass [ __ ] laugh I can make the world laugh and I said man I I've seen I got the you know you always see where your path is you know what I'm saying I mean when God when when God put you on your path you see because like when I when I was doing it it was strange enough I was getting into opportunities and I got opportunity to to take the Walk of Fame for red fox and that just looked at that and I just met baseball players Yogi Bear and and I met uh uh uh forgot the other gentleman name but I mean I met some some celebrities man and I started looking like man this [ __ ] bigger than I thought and then I started seeing worlds like that and what helped me it pushed me out I said man I got to go make it I got to go get it and now you know any there I haven't my Hunger has never left I mean I did shows every night since we' been here I've been out hitting it everywhere and and and I I I work every weekend I work every every weekend all the time and I still because I know you supposed to exalt your gift when God give it to you you can't sit up there and just be a big fish in a little p I had a club in St Louisa for for like like nine years probably every celebrity from DL hugle SB and all them [ __ ] came through my club I had fck my club was like the hottest club in America for criss cross the rappers all them the brat everybody came to my club San was the place you ask any comedian from the Midwest on down oh yeah Sanford we had Sanford in Kan city too oh yeah Sanford Stanford that's stord stford yeah this was like this was a hood Club this [ __ ] this [ __ ] took a Ponder Roa and turned it into a p Roa thing out he kept the plate that's how how how ghetto he was but he opened up a nightclub and we decided you know they decided to do comedy they had these people doing it they they was [ __ ] over the comedians you know you always and that's one thing they taught me is stop letting people that that's not in the game or comedy do your work for you right and so we got out of that and I a lot of these comedians they probably ain't comedians no more but I helped I knocked them people out of the way and and was able to with this dude he tried to do it he couldn't do it and I said well I take over and I would go up and just that's where I got off the Dome [ __ ] is I you know I had material man but these mean [ __ ] that every week drinking and [ __ ] I had to come up with new stuff all the time I walk around doing business I would I would turn it into a comedy show slash networking place because I would get their business cards and read off their card and I make a joke about they car their business and then then I said go see him man you know I mean the brothers said he work on car but he caught the bus over here you know but I would do I would do a lot of that and they the people laugh and they and actually know people was wall to wall this one lady I knew this one it was pivot when I was doing it because this one lady just opened up a nail a massage and nail shop and I told him I said I went in and she gave me massage and she did my nails I walked out of that some bit she squired 200 lb out of me and I said I said it was one of the best cuz she gave she had she had food massage everything and I said you got to go see it she said L Crawford my phone been ringing off the hook we got a line around the corner and I told everybody else about your club and I mean and it became it became the place to do it and I would do comedy and made a business people was getting she said they told me I'm saying man I made so much money from you I had to come back and give it to you and and that's you know that that's how that came about I would just go up on stage and be funny and I would bring comedian from all over the country and I would still do the NK working thing that [ __ ] got big we had two nights the the manag build a stage and [ __ ] this [ __ ] was do everything we we did everything in that club to make it what it was it was a great moment and tell he tried to sleep with all the waitresses you know when you start thinking you the sele and I you can't sleep with everybody you going to mess it up with all of us right you know but but it it was it was uh that that taught me that I an abundance mindset too yeah yeah but yeah that that mindset made me understand that I can get this anywhere um last question um who are your top five comedians top five [ __ ] Dead or Alive oh well I I say I say this all time I put my ass on there because I if nobody else talk about me I talk about myself I said but you know Richard Pryor of course red fox of course uh Robin Harris of course yeah Rodney Danger yep that's on and there a toss up between George Carin and and a guy named Robert shim who I thought was incredible that they don't never talk about too much he was incredible so that's my top five I mean it's other one and of course Barnie M my mention you know but yeah I mean them them you know red fox used to make my grand granddaddy laugh so I mean and I was tur on by my Grandad watching Samson son and I just thought it was he was incredible yeah just the the thing about his whole Road and he taught me some [ __ ] that I had to get my [ __ ] together cuz I want to leave a legacy of of Finance to my family and red fox made a lot of money and then he had to die broke and that's some evil [ __ ] right I hate that right I'm not going Eddie Murphy paid for his funeral [ __ ] that that's [ __ ] I don't want you paying for my [ __ ] Funeral that's awful to me you know Bernie Mack you know he left his family of Legacy I'm assuming you know and know but just hard that like man being funny you know you don't want to just be funny and then people want to talk about you at the end that's why I got to become the famous lville Crawford I don't want nobody put me on their TV one or you know that with that unsung I want be on that I don't want be put my picture on Instagram don't you dare do that [ __ ] unless I'm super famous then he say we he will be Miss and they they got me on TV and I feel sorry for OJ OJ OJ dad and they don't talk about [ __ ] but the murder yeah I mean this [ __ ] ran for almost 1700 yards three years in a row that that ain't
