Tennessee Football gets Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia and more on SEC 2024 schedule

the 2024 schedule has been released for the Tennessee Volunteers I'm gonna give you my thoughts on it pretty balanced there's some good stuff on there and I want to hear from you SEC football immensely oh we got a full show today 2024 schedule release all right SEC head coaching rankings for my colleagues around the lockdown podcast Network or the SEC channel and Saturday down south top five quarterbacks in the SEC so quarterback matchups in the SEC a whole lot of football talk to get into so let's get going uh we've got on the schedule for the University of Tennessee uh got some fun stuff coming up here for 2024 I forgot to load the schedule literally and I'm doing it now as we speak right now so if you're on YouTube hey that was a quick download you can look at it right now I'm popping the schedule up here for the 2024 schedule release for the SEC opponents Alabama's at home Florida's at home Kentucky's at home Mississippi state is at home at Arkansas at Oklahoma at Georgia at Vanderbilt and of course we're going to know uh dates and we're gonna of course you know times will be you know a long time away but we'll know dates at some point in time and I'm sure they'll put forth another 60 Minutes on the SEC network which it's just ridiculous I mean again from their perspective I get it trying to be like the NFL trying to make it a year-round event trying to get I mean I was shocked when this was an hour-long show uh your boy watched up until 10 up until I figured out Tennessee's complete schedule because by the time they unveiled Tennessee schedule pretty much all their matchups have been announced and you knew going into it that Tennessee was going to play Oklahoma because that had been announced earlier in the day you knew going into it that Tennessee was going to play Alabama and Vanderbilt you also knew that um by the time the schedule invelment was was here that you weren't going to be playing anywhere that you played like any road game in 2023 you weren't going to go back there in 2024 so you could kind of figure out what was going on and then as you speak with some people and and you know kind of formulate your notes throughout the day you had a pretty decent idea of what that schedule was going to look like by the time seven o'clock Eastern time rolled around and about 7 35 whenever they you know finally showed Tennessee schedule part of the 60 Minutes SEC network program so just hilarious there but we'll quickly Go game by game all right and this is no specific order this is kind of how I wrote them down here on this graphic um Alabama you knew that uh you know if if it's going to be a one-off an eight-game conference schedule one-off uh they were going to preserve some rivalries just like they're going to do eventually in the 369 game model right 3-6 model for the nine game conference schedule so you knew Alabama was going to be on there third Saturday in October that's awesome everybody loves that so you felt good about that of course Tennessee won against Alabama at home uh this past year Tennessee will be on the road in 2023 and then in 2024 the Nico emaliama show and you're gonna get Alabama at home so I like that a lot uh Florida same situation um that game might that game will likely not be an annual game uh once the the end result is here even if you go 3-6 model Florida is likely not going to be one of the three permanent opponents but you know Florida in my demo that met your rival okay that's what you grew up and you play them every single year and that's that's the one you want from people my age and so I like that and of course that'll be at home Tennessee just took down the Gators at home this past year Kentucky I love the fact that Kentucky's on the schedule and my hope and my prayer is Kentucky is that third permanent opponent once they go to nine games and if they follow the 3-6 model I know they're not there yet but eventually if if that is the the way they're gonna go once they figure out the TV money from ESPN I hope and I hope and I hope that it is Kentucky because that game's been played for gosh I want to say over like near 100 years right I mean it's it's been played every single year the battle of the Beer Barrel it's huge if you're a Tennessee fan it also works out if you're a Tennessee fan because historically you've had great success over Kentucky so I like that and then wrapping up the home slate for 2024 is Mississippi State uh Mississippi state's not one that's going to get you fired up it's not one that's really juicy when you see it on the schedule uh Mississippi state was last here in 2019 a part of that seven game win streak in the season and in Tennessee ran the football the whole time because Jerry guarantano was knocked out hurt his hand in that football game if you remember that was at Kneeland Stadium Mississippi State the Vols traveled to Mississippi States back in uh 2012 and lost and if my memory serves me Ryan cordarrell Patterson had a hell of a football game in that one so the home the home SEC schedule it's pretty solid all right Alabama Florida Kentucky and then Mississippi State now the four games on the road you know that Vanderbilt's gonna be there you're playing Vanderbilt no matter what every single year if they did the true one seven model your permanent opponent would have been Vanderbilt so you knew Vanderbilt is going to be on that schedule and because you're traveling to Vanderbilt uh in Nashville let's see here we've been venerable this past year yeah because you're going to be at home against Vanderbilt in 2023 it's you know when you're not the smartest guy in the world it's kind of hard to project you know years out in advance because you're going to be hosting Vanderbilt at Neil in this upcoming football season he knew that he was going to be on the road uh in Nashville in 2024 so knew that was going to happen um George is on the schedule doesn't shock me uh but I did think that there was a great opportunity for the SEC to to dip their hand back in and pull out some old rivals and the place for either Georgia or Arkansas maybe you dump an annual arrival from the SEC East or not even really arrival but an annual opponent from the SEC East and go pick up one of those old school Rivals that you played every single year up until you went to divisions in 1992 this would be a great spot for Auburn and it what it wasn't um certainly there's a lot of meat on this schedule this sec home schedule Alabama Florida um at Georgia Georgia's king of the world right now back-to-back national champions will be a three-peat by the time we have this conversation in the year of 2024 Lord I hope not but we will find out at Georgia and Athens that'll be a tough game uh Nico that'll be a really really big opportunity for Nico on the road as a starter in 2024 and uh man I couldn't even hear myself think it was so loud in half for this football game last year um Oklahoma I'm gonna say that one for last at Arkansas at Arkansas gosh guys we were just there we just did this did we not 2020 and I know 2020 was a one-off I understand 2020 was a weird year but we were just there we just did this game we were just in Fayetteville it did not go well for Tennessee okay we know that but still we just did this so again a great opportunity to do something different and I know Tennessee's played Ole Miss recently I know Tennessee just played LSU I know Texas A M is going to be on the schedule this year I get that um so it's difficult you can only do so much um I talked about Auburn again it's been a minute since he played Auburn Tennessee played Auburn in 2018 another reason to play Auburn again right I mean I'm I was one Auburn on the schedule so again I thought you know going to the planes again having Auburn here was a missed opportunity but you put Arkansas on the schedule so it'll be interesting um I'm excited I have never been to a game at Fayetteville um so I'll be excited to make that road trip there and then you got at Oklahoma you got at Oklahoma don't one two norm and of course Tennessee was in Norman in 2014 didn't go well Tennessee welcomed Oklahoma in 2015 didn't go well uh you're on the one yard line run the damn ball for on on Fourth and go run the ball run the ball what are you doing right I mean there's bad memories right uh you know kick the field goal no run the ball run the football run the football uh this game the story lines are already written guys uh you've already got Josh Hopple going home Josh Hopple going home uh you know Josh Heigl versus Bob Stoops yes I understand Bob Stoops is another football coach there anymore but he's still around the program right he's still lurking he's still advising he's still in the shadows he's still in the meeting rooms he's probably still coaching right uh Josh heipel and Bob Stoops are not friends Josh heipel and the Stoops family are not friends this will not be and this will not be feeling good for Josh Hopple sure he had a lot of great memories there he won a national championship um you know he was a great football player at Oklahoma so sure in that respect it might be good to go home right but I don't think anything would feel better for Josh heipel than to go into Norman Oklahoma and put up a 50 burger with Tennessee marching out of there Victoria I I think that's I mean the headlines are already being written right now guys huge storyline um every team was going to play either Oklahoma or Texas personally personally um I wanted tendency to play Texas Battle of the real UTS Battle of the oranges um Nico versus Arch I mean those storylines I mean it was it was juicy right but Tennessee got Oklahoma and again Tennessee's played Oklahoma here recently but again I'm excited because I've never gone to Norman I've never seen a football game at Oklahoma so for me personally I'm excited there overall I don't think Tennessee schedule's that bad the big theme Here the big theme here and I buried it I'm sorry the 2024 SEC schedule pretty much looks like what was already going to be the 2024 schedule okay you were already going to play Bama Georgia Vanderbilt Florida you had Oklahoma on that schedule in Knoxville I know this is on the road you had Mississippi States at home on that schedule and that's what it's going to be so seven of the eight opponents were already on the schedule albeit the only only one that's not that wasn't on the schedule it was Arkansas and you replaced that with um uh Missouri who is now gone um all the rest were on the schedule so you know I I'll be intrigued to see kind of where these are and where these fits in terms of the schedule in terms of what dates are here where's that bye week that's what I'm intrigued with but overall it's fine um again it looks a lot like what it was going to be okay but um Alabama Florida Georgia you get the big three Kentucky's on that schedule I love that um going to Georgia Big Time matchup for Nico uh going to Arkansas going to Oklahoma those will be exciting uh it is what it is what do you guys think about Tennessee's 2024 SEC opponent schedule it was announced on the SEC Network's glorious 60 Minute programming everybody uh when it could have been all done in 25 minutes but hey that's the world we live in now the SEC network it's a smart move I mean I'm making fun of it but it's a smart move I get it because there's people that watch every bit of that and hung around for Tim Tebow to speak at 7 40 which who cares hung around to see how former Arkansas it's all defensive lineman talk on that show who cares it's a good idea I get it make some money but that's your schedule home games Alabama Florida Kentucky Mississippi State away games Arkansas Oklahoma Georgia Vanderbilt very balanced very expected and if you're a Tennessee I think you take it I think you take it you don't play South Carolina which is good you don't I mean good as in um who cares like that's just it's like for me and I understand last year you want some Revenge you know hopefully you'll get that in 2023 but like who cares about playing South Carolina who cares if I'll play in Missouri that's just my opinion right um so anyway schedule looks good hey when we come back another uh poll that uh myself and my colleagues over the locked on uh SEC did about the head coaches head coaching rankings in the Southeastern Conference where does Josh heipel Rank and what does it look like 1-14 that's and more football talk right here on your every single one of you so we reviewed the opponents for Tennessee and the SEC schedule for 2024 and of course we'll continue that conversation um as the week and you know months go on I'm sure uh developing story of course um you know when are these you know where when are these gonna take place where are these gonna take place all that um you know we'll be continued discussion on the evolution of the Southeastern Conference football schedule but we know the opponents and so that was fun talking about that in segment number one uh want to continue on with some of the stuff we did in yesterday's show and a couple of you guys message me or commented that some of my best shows are when I disagree with something because I get passionate about it and uh so it in that in that vein I want to go over another one of the polls uh that uh myself and the other locked on SEC hosts kind of put together ranking the 14 SEC head football coaches right now okay right now so in another year there'll be two more head coaches added to this mix but 14 teams for the 2023 season right now and this is the list that's myself voted on myself and other SEC locked on hosts voted on and I'll tell you the top five right now if you're watching on YouTube you can see it number one was Kirby Smart number two was Nick Saban number three was Brian Kelly number four is Josh heipel and number five is Mark Stoops so Josh heipel getting the number four pick a fourth overall head coach in the SEC that that's that's pretty good if you ask me and that's that's a bounce about right um Kirby Smart back-to-back national championships uh no way in the world he's not gonna be number one in college football and in the SEC right now now if we talk about the careers and we talk about the legacies and all that Nick Saban's probably up there right now uh but Kirby Smart right now for the SEC season easily number one there's no disputing that because again back-to-back Natural Championships Nick Saban's number two still um we'll see what this season looks like for Alabama because it's going to be interesting quarterback plays a big old question mark for the Crimson Tide but that roster still really really good have a great running back room are still good at a lot of scrimmage um just had a great recruiting class uh we'll see what Alabama looks like but I have no issue with Nick Saban being number two Josh heple at four could he have come in at number three for Brian Kelly now how do you vote on these no I'll tell you my criteria and how I kind of voted on these right um where are you right now in the Southeastern Conference play but also you got to take history into account just a little bit not always because if that were the case Nick Saban would be number one but I understand why Brian Kelly was there number three well Brian Kelly did at Notre Dame you know the the successful Seasons that he had the college football playoff appearance is sure they got you know bulldoze in the college football playoffs I understand that but still um you know did a really good job coaching football if you will not living a life but coaching football um his first season in Baton Rouge was pretty good all things considered um with three losses had a chance to go to the college football playoffs it was in that conversation if they were to win the Southeastern Conference Championship Game LSU likely would have gone to the CP the CP the cfp there you go third time's a charm uh but they didn't but I thought Brian Kelly did a really nice job in year number one in LSU and it's only going to get better in my opinion because it's such a rich state for recruiting they do a great job of holding on to top prospects in the states not Jordan Matthews if you will they relate to that party but uh anyway I I can see why Brian Kelly would be ranked number three here you do have an SEC Championship you'll have an SEC title game appearance that's something Josh Heigl doesn't have so in that vein I get it Josh Hopple being number four I like it obviously because this is a you know a Vols podcast um should he be number four there were some other coaches on this list that didn't even get in the top five you have Shane Beamer at number five Lane kiffin at seven or Shane Beamer at uh let's see here Mark Stoops at number five excuse me marks 205 Shane Beamer at six Lane kiffin at seven Sam Pittman at eight Jimbo Fisher at nine Hugh frees at ten Billy Napier at 11. Eli drinkwoods at 12 clerkley at 13 and then Zach Arnett at 14. obviously Zach Arnett's never been a head coach before uh taking over for you know the the the the deceased Pirates and you know may you rest in peace and gosh it's still can't believe he's gone right um Mike Leach is just incredible but Zach Arnett obviously in the cellar and then Clark leaves right above him those make sense but there are some pretty good coaches that you could lobbied if you will to be inside the top five and at number four but I like Josh heuple there number four because if you look at what he's done to being an Essie what he's done at being a head coach throughout his career all he does is Win he turned Tennessee around in a hurry 10 regular season wins and you're number two went to a new year six bowl game beat Clemson okay had a Heisman caliber type quarterback had the balletnikov winner uh and Jalen hot on offense back-to-back seasons have had a thousand yard receiver he said multiple draft picks in both seasons as Tennessee's head coach shown that he and his staff can develop I get all that but you know take a guy like Jimbo Fisher he's won a national championship I'm not saying Jimbo Fisher should be ranked ahead of him but he's won a national championship most of these Publications whether it be CBS Sports Athlon you know whatever they put out these off-season coaching rankings a lot of times still give Jimbo Fisher the benefit of the doubt and have him highly up there um I don't agree with that but Jimbo Fisher being at number nine on this list I think speaks a whole lot of volumes I mean Jimbo Fisher according to my fellow host and locked on SEC is behind Sam Pittman I like Sam Pittman I think he's done a decent job at Arkansas um and it's been it's been really bad with the talent that's in College Station right now but Jimbo Fisher behind Sam Pittman that's that's funny to me um I would not have done that but if it's not Josh heipel at 4 who would it be well Jimbo Fisher would come to mind Lane kiffin would come to mind a whole lot of success at Ole Miss in three seasons turned it around um really really difficult 2020 season obviously um in terms of just everything in the grand scheme of things very successful in 2021 I think Lane kiffin last year as well losing your offensive coordinator losing your quarterback losing your defensive coordinator and still getting nine wins or whatever it was I think Lane kiffin did a really nice job last year at Ole Miss maybe Lane kiffin should be in the top five but I like this I like Josh Highpoint number four because it's the here and the now the development shown he's recruiting with the big boys he needs to close some morale no doubt about it but I have no issue with Josh heuple being here at number four Mark Stoops at five is interesting because I'm a big more suits fan okay I like the way that he builds his roster and everything but still you haven't won anything uh you haven't won anything at all and sure football Kentucky secondary whether you know it doesn't matter um if kalapari and Stoops are going to go at it and Mark Stoops gets his feelings hurt publicly I mean it is a basketball school there's no offense butts about it my guy Lance does a Kentucky basketball 90 of the time on his podcast because it is a basketball school um Mark Soup said five I think he's done a really nice job but I do not think that he is worthy to be the number five ranked coach in the SEC Shane Beamer on the other hand again I'm not a big fan of Shane Beamer I think that he is a child and he has a whole lot of growing up to do I also think that when it ends because it will end for all these coaches that's the nature of the business it is going to win so badly in Columbia South Carolina with Shane Beamer it will but right now he's rolling he's rolling right now did a really good job at the end of last year if you can get Spencer Rattler rolling who knows how good South Carolina can be um but I think Shane Beamer right now might have might have more of a case than Mark Stoops Elaine kiffin definitely has more of a case than uh Beamer or Mark soups in my opinion Sam Pittman uh it is what it is I'd have him flip-flop with Jimbo Fisher down there at 8-9 Hugh freeze at 10 is interesting because he's been in this league before he's won in this league because of situations that were his own fault he was out of this league and now it's the Redemption tour um not a very good roster right now whatsoever in Auburn Alabama but if he can recruit I think that he's a good enough coach to get Auburn back to where they need to be but Hue freeze at 10 is about right Billy Napier at 11 I thought it was so funny so funny typical off-season typical media outlets and or journalists or writers falling in love with a coach or cover that coach at one of their previous stops and whenever they get a game they're going to push them and push them and push them that off season that is what happened last year with Billy Napier appearing in all these off-season criteria rankings and all that type of stuff ahead of Josh Heibel ahead of Josh hype on these rankings and it's like okay sure very successful at Louisiana but he's literally never done it in the SEC never been a head coach at least Josh heipel has put together a top 10 offense albeit it was a seven and five year one record in Knoxville for Josh Hopple but he had a top 10 offense with multiple draft picks and you're number one I've seen Josh heipel do it this was my argument last year I've seen Josh heipel do it I haven't seen Billy Napier do it at this level and of course Billy Napier had a rough year one and my opinion's gonna have a rough rough year too just my opinion still gonna be a dog fight week three Tennessee down on the swamp gonna be a dogfight but I have no issue with Billy Napier being number 11. I think that's about right Eli drinkwitz kind of closing out the relevant coaches if you want to call him that um actually he's not because I always say he just talks to stay relevant down on there number 12 that is right before you get into Clark Lee and then to Zach Arnett so for the most part I have no issues at all with these uh you know 1 through 14 rankings that myself and a fellow hosts are on the locked on SEC did again the top five Kirby smarts Nick Saban Brian Kelly Josh heipel Mark Stoops you can make the argument highball can be three but I think it's some pretty slim argument uh we'll see what happens this year a real argument is who should be number five Mark Stoops is there should it be Shane Beamer Lane kiffin likely um I think Jimbo Fisher's a little bit too low even though I think that he's underwhelming severely underwhelmed in College Station and then rounding out the order with Billy Napier 11 Eli drinkwood's 12 clarklia 13 and Zach Arnett at number 14. uh that is how we voted on him what say you where should Josh heipel be ranked and does those top fives uh kind of look like they should be the top five head coaches would love your thoughts and would preview of Tennessee baseball in the College World Series that is coming up on tomorrow's show so really really looking forward to that all right so Saturday down south they put together a top five quarterback matchups in the SEC schedule this year again in segment one we talked about the 2024 SEC schedule looking forward to breaking down some of those quarterback matchups uh between now and then but for 2023 the last year with 14 teams in the SEC and with divisional play as well who are some of those top quarterback matchups if you will we'll give you top five or Saturday down south gave you a top five and I want to react to him here number five is Devin Leary and Spencer Rattler it is Kentucky and South Carolina it's a big time matchup because kind of the pecking order right now it's uh Georgia in the east then Tennessee and then the question is is it South Carolina is it Kentucky don't think it's Florida yet Missouri and uh Missouri and Vanderbilt are below those guys but I think Discord might match up onto something here it comes late in the year who is third in that pecking order right now in the SEC East behind Georgia and Tennessee is it Kentucky or is it South Carolina I think Kentucky albeit will um will Levis went to my Titans still heartbroken about it still frustrated about it um but he's a tremendous talent in terms of a pro potential type guy I get it Devin Leary's an upgrade one 100 percent to what will love us was given Kentucky the last two years Devon Leary is one of the best college quarterbacks in 2021. so what does he have Kentucky looking like in the month of November Spencer Rattler are you getting Spencer Rattler from the beginning of the 2022 season or the end of the 2022 season um that that's intriguing I think that is worthy for sure of being a top five quarterback matchup in the Southeastern Conference so Saturday down south SDS has Devin Leary versus Spencer Rattler number five at number four it is Will Rogers and KJ Jefferson this one I don't really care I wouldn't have had this in the matchup at all or in the top five you know it is what it is Mississippi State's not contending for anything Arkansas will not be contending for anything this year in my opinion just just is what it is LSU is going to be up there Alabama's going to be up there you know that Ole Miss is going to be pushing Texas A M can it bounce back I think of all those teams before I think of Arkansas and again I'm a Sam Pittman fan I think he's done a fine job if you couldn't tell I'm a fan of a lot of these head coaches um but I just I don't really care Will Rogers has been a great system quarterback with Mississippi State during his tenure but what does he look like now without Mike Leach I'm curious KJ Jefferson has all the talent in the world and um you know we kind of talked about you know those those locked on SEC host uh rankings and we Flash the the quarterback went up on yesterday's show and and my colleagues I didn't but my colleagues voted KJ Jefferson number one quarterback in the SEC for the upcoming season I'll be see if there's not a clear cut number one I get it but I mean come on guys KJ Jefferson good player never never healthy enough to be number one in my opinion uh so I think that's just a little interesting so really the Arkansas Mississippi State won for me I don't really care and I understand uh KJ Jefferson was sideline for that game last year but I could I could do without that one all right number three this is where Tennessee comes in Joe Milton versus Devin Leary all right so I've already kind of gave my Devin Leary spill and how I think Kentucky is going to be better with Devin Leary we talk about Joe Milton all the time what does Joe Milton look like this season you know how good can Joe Milton be and in turn how great can this Tennessee offense be with Joe Milton we'll have to see I think uh personally the Kentucky is the biggest competitor to Tennessee to be the second best team in the East I don't think it's South Carolina I think it is Kentucky for all the reasons I mentioned before and of course just a moment ago on Devon Leary they they got a whole lot better on offense in my opinion uh but Joe Milton we just still don't know exactly what we're gonna get week by week game after game so I'm intrigued by that and I do think this is going to be a really good quarterback matchup for sure um a lot riding on it the Border Bowl right um you know we don't know you know how you know in the in the in the future obviously even 2024 and Beyond we don't know how much longer Tennessee's gonna play Kentucky on an annual basis so uh it's it is interesting this game means an awful lot about all the beer barrel and um this this is a game that can sneak up on you and be a game that you're favored in that you lose potentially so I think this Joe Milton Devin Leary battle Tennessee Kentucky is going to be big and SDS thinks so as well and that's why it's at number three number two is Carson back and Joe Milton obviously this one's this one's huge I get it um Carson back new quarterback in town okay Carson bag uh upgrade talent wise from Stetson Bennett all right Carson back he's got all the bells and whistles he's got all the toys to play with he's got a nice offensive line he's got weapons to throw too he's got weapons in the backfield Carson back you know here's the keys don't lose them that's the kind of that situation but can Tennessee give George a better fight in 2023 than it did in 2022 the final score I mean we talked about that game at length obviously during the season the final score I think was 28-14 or 27-13 or whatever it was it was a two touchdown game but I mean you know you watch that game just like I did guys and it was not that close it just wasn't the weather was bad and a lot of running of the football and all that but um can Tennessee give Georgia more of a fight this year um I think I think you know we'll we'll have to see exactly what that is and again that's it's depending on Joe Milton and so the fact that the the East two top teams getting after it and a game in November absolutely signed me of Joe Milton versus Carson back two new starting quarterbacks newish if you're Joe Milton um you know competing for the two for the top spot in the in the in the East potentially this could be the game that decides who represents the SEC East in Atlanta huge matchup 100 and so for that reason that is why Joe Milton and Carson back are the number two matchup the Y says this for Saturday down south quotes I reserve the ride to Simply change the names but leave this in the number two slot if this ends up being a battle of five star quarterbacks with Brock Vandergriff and Nico emaliaba that's a good point but I don't think that'll happen at least for Nico but my guess is this will be Beck versus Milton which we figure will be one of the the biggest starts of their respected careers because back in the middle could Beck be in the midst of a Heisman Trophy campaign let's slow the slow the wagon there shall we uh will Milton stock be through the roof like one of his with one of his moonshot throws either way we should see an incredible atmosphere in Knoxville Tennessee has Florida and Alabama on the road this year uh and the headliner non-conference game will be in Nashville with the Virginia so the home fans could be chomping at the bid for the dogs if the Vols pick up where they left off we could have a de facto divisional title game with a whole lot of pressure on Becker Milton to deliver like their predecessors I come I agree 100 completely uh the top quarterback matchup according to Saturday down south in the SEC this year is KJ Jefferson and Jayden Daniels uh interesting the the little synopsis on this real quick it says my guess is that when the preseason all SEC teams roll out in July Jefferson and Daniels will be the first and second team uh quarterback selections this matchup of established SEC signal callers will be LSU's first FBS home game it'll be Arkansas's first SEC matchup huge remember in this late in the late in the season battle for the boot last year Jefferson was hurt Harold Perkins took over and the entire state of Arkansas with a performance for the ages it was so cold that day that Brian Kelly and LSU players drinking soup on the sidelines my guarantee a September game in Baton Rouge will be just a touch hotter and more kind to the high-flying offenses and that is what they have to say on KJ Jefferson and Jayden Daniels so um those are the top five quarterback matchups and I think for Tennessee Joe Milton being represented on one of those are on two of those excuse me just goes to show you how far Tennessee's come as a team where Tennessee is in the rebuild where all this is under Josh heipel what's a team that's saying hey we're replacing a lot but at least offensively we're just going to be going we're going to try to pick up right where we left off that's the mindset with Josh heipel and Joey Horsley in the Tennessee offense but for the first time at Tennessee it'll be under new quarterback leadership if you will on understand Joe Milton started the 2021 season but that was hit in hooker's year as was 2022 so a lot of questions that will need to be answered what are some other big time quarterback matchups in the SEC this year
