Annabel Dimmock reflects on a special day firing the course record | KPMG Women’s Irish Open

very well played out there today I say very well played amazingly well played round of eight under currently in the lead of this tournament I mean suming up for me it's hard to sum up really um I actually lost count on my score I asked the scorer after coming off 18 I said what did I shoot today because I was thinking after I was like is this part to beat me own course record that was quite cool um so yeah knocked that one in that felt good um but yeah I'm just I'm very happy I'm very happy you started quite slowly this week I think it was a 72 or something like that on the first day but since then you caught fire so there something you can put your finger on why that's happened yeah is so I actually played really well on the first day as well but I missed a lot of parts on the first day um and I came off and I actually unfortunately had a three I got a bit frustrated on the first day um where I wasn't holding anything and then I sort of had a 20 footer and I banged it like six foot past and three PT it and it was just it was one of them rounds I could never get going and I played just as good as I did today and the day before um but then after the first round I went on the pattern green and um my pattern felt a tiny bit off like I didn't have my normal feels with it um and I went on the pattern green and obviously sorted it out so that was great we said out sorted out in some style I mean we know your struggles with the with your injury and everything else then to come here in front of all these people and to do that that must be pretty special R must rank pretty highly yeah do you know what no matter what happens tomorrow um this week has been huge for me just purely to know that I'm still there you know don't forget about me um it's been it's been I don't know where to begin I mean my documentary came out yesterday um which I'm pleased that I played World yesterday and kind of shot the course record or shot my seven under because I didn't want people to feel oh feel sorry for Annabelle you know she's struggling it's been it's been a really rough eight months um that I was out just purely I was working so hard to get myself back ready fit you know that was really hard I think people thought that I was chilling on the sofa it was quite the opposite you know it was very stressful I haven't had a day off in a long time um to be quite honest with you um and yeah I just feel like I was glad that it wasn't feel sorry for Annabelle and this and that I never made the open but I'm still playing great I think oh sorry when I was doing that documentary you know it was hard I I really was trying hard I really wanted the story to be you know I made the British Open I'm I'm back I feel like I'm I'm in the world's biggest stage um but you know sometimes the harder you try in golf well definitely the harder you try in golf a lot of the time it has a negative effect so this week was nice I didn't have you know my documentary cameras filming me and following me and I just kind of went out there and just let myself play and um yeah we're here now we're here so mentally now do you feel stronger for what you've been through does it put things a bit more in perspective when you go out there and hit a bad shot and obviously hit a good shot as well they get carried away so much it's just it's golf I guess yeah I think I don't get too high on the highs now because I also know you know there might not be that around the corner and I think that I don't get down with the lows I think I've been through so much that I generally do feel quite bulletproof um in golf and especially on the course and it shows even my dad said to me I think my dad CED for me a couple of weeks ago um where did he he CED for me actually at the Open qualifier and he said that I you know in the last year I've matured a lot as a golfer I think I've had a lot of time to think about my golf um when I was out injured a lot of time you know sit there and work out what I want to do when I come back how I want to do it when I come back what I want to do different and I think I've slowed my swing down a lot I've played a lot more simpler Golf and less aggressive Golf and just um just not pushed myself my body too hard and I feel like it it has had a lot a very positive effect and I would definitely be doing it going forward yeah bottle this and keep it well exactly and then of course tomorrow I haven't checked what they did in the final green it's going to be a one shot two shot two shot lead I'm told it's a nice little lead but it's not one that you know you can sit back and take it easy but I guess it's going to be approach it like you approached today I don't think I'll really be looking at the boards anyway um obviously you have the the Qui look you know you got to have a quick look haven't you but um I'm not going to be watching it too much you know I'm going out there and I'm going to stick to my game plan and I said to my dad at the start of week dad if I can swing in this good Tempo all week we've won this week and that's what I'm going to go out there and do tomorrow I'm not going to try and push too hard um or anything like that and we'll just see where we are at the end of the day we certainly will good luck to you thank you cheers

386 yds today the wind is helping from the right hand side the main issue is a bunker far right at 260 yards so you want to keep left of that the cost of missing the fairway is half a shot which suggests it's not easy to get close but this pin's in the middle of the green and it's towards the back you...
