Nicole Shanahan Goes Full Republican??? Shocking Shift | Bongino show clip

I am really happy to welcome to the show uh the running mate on the RFK Shanahan ticket Nicole Shanahan on Nicole thank you for joining us we really appreciate thanks for having me Dan it's a pleasure to be with you this morning well we've been playing your Clips on my podcast and we were going to play them here but now we have you direct so we we we don't have to and we're honored to have you um listen first congratulations on running what I think was a really good campaign haven't been a candidate myself that got crushed in a couple of Elections and you know it's a hard thing to do you get scrutinized people attack you your family and to do it nationally and get your names out there like you guys did and to poll you know between you know double digits in some cases and some of these swing States you know um you guys did a pretty pretty amazing job outside of the politics I want to make sure uh I get that across well thanks thanks for that you know we were never driven by the quote political scene or the desire to be politicians we were driven by issues and and really that was Bobby Kennedy being on top of some of these themes so early listening to people that had been ostracized and out Iced Out of the conversation I mean he got there and took a stand when nobody else would and thanks to him and what he's represented we have for the first time I think coest a true independent movement and I'm so proud to be part of it yeah we're talking to Nicole Shanahan running mate for RFK Jr so obviously the big question I've got a ton of stuff I when to ask you about how you guys were treated and else it was it was terrible and I was really outspoken about that myself about the everything from the Secret Service that was a disgrace not giving you guys protection but uh there's a a a press conference coming up in just about an hour it's you you've teased it you've been out there saying this is going to be a really big deal I anticipate it's going to be RFK Jr is going to be speaking an hour from now uh so what can we expect to hear I I'm calling it an important moment and and really an inflection of our Republic um how we practice democracy in this country how we practice full and free First Amendment rights and freedoms we are a a very unique and special place with a Bill of Rights that encourages exactly this moment this is not a moment where we are endorsing a person or a party we represent ideas we are endorsing ideas um and I think that this is a time that perfectly reflects where we are people say this is the end of an Empire I disagree entirely I think we are a republic with a democracy that is growing up and if you look at other democracies around the world they've gone through similar inflection points where Coalition and Coalition building alone is what leads to leadership and what creates and and builds on top of EXT existing party infrastructures Coalition building is the future of this country and we are showing people how how it can be done Bobby Kennedy is going to give today I think one of the most important speeches to lay that path forward interesting so we're talking to Nicole Shanahan running mate to RFK Jr a big briefing coming up press conference in an hour with RFK Jor himself so uh you implied there or just said directly you will not be endorsing a candidate today I if I heard you correctly but you'll be endorsing a series of ideas so if you're not endorsing a candidate today you know that there are ideas that are conservative and ideas that are that are considered leftist or liberal are the ideas he's going to be endorsing more aligned with what we would call you know the conservative or Maga or republican agenda or the progressive liberal what's becoming you know socialist agenda on the left you know to respond to your question did you hear about the No Labels movement yeah I know who they are yeah okay so I I Now understand why they picked the name no labels um they you know I I would say that the ideas that we represent are the ones that are the most important in this moment in history which is one um preserving the Integrity of the democratic process um what I think has really driven us to understand where it's been most infiltrated is by running as a third party candidate and the incredible amount of sabotage we faced um it's it's it's really I think a a a topof the line priority is that people understand the current state of democracy and their current frustration with it is completely valid um so part of our alignment right now is is making sure that we are aligning with individuals who will protect the Democratic process um as we understand how it has been abused and we have faced that abuse directly so we understand it we understand it better than most I'll I'll tell you that because we've been right in between these two parties uh for a good amount of time now and we know how these other groups um behave we know how low they'll go and and we know what that means in terms of of how it might really really really be catastrophic and so I think first and for foremost we want to take the lessons we learn turn it into a positive make sure that we we you know turn this thing up right secondarily talking yep okay go ahead sorry sorry sorry one more one more point is that um you know you mentioned MAA I I've been a liberal Californian for a long time and I don't think many people understand MAA I didn't understand MAA my impression of MAA was completely uh crafted by the left-wing um media and I think it I honestly think it's been misrepresented so I think that if we take the time understand what MAA is um construct it you know I heard someone calling it the largest third party actually in America today and and I think there's a lot to be said about that and um I really do appreciate some of the themes um that you know Nicole I I have to tell you we're talking about Nicole Shanahan running mate to RFK Jr big uh big uh press conference coming up in just about an hour with RFK himself that that's really refreshing to hear because um you know listen you I don't know how much of my show you heard you have it doesn't really matter but I I can a bit of a flamethrower I'm not naive to that I'm really passionate about what I believe in but I I and I get it that I probably do probably turn off some liberals from California like you you said you were before you learn more about the magga movement but I really sometimes do wish that they would just listen to what we're saying like there's nothing we're saying that's even remotely controversial like hey you know yeah we need taxes to fund the military and our court system and everything but we don't need 40% rates you know I mean you know school choice like what's controversial about that like your kid goes to a crappy School in San Francisco like let's just give them a choice I mean they pay for it I mean Healthcare like do we really need the government controlling every single component of Health Care yeah I I get it you know maybe there's people out there who can't handle it but people should control the health like there's nothing about the magga movement that's confusing but you said something interesting about kind of the weaponization of process you guys have been a victim of this RFK and you the Democrat part not the Republicans I have I a conservative I have spoken you can go look out you guys should have had Secret Service you should have been treated with respect I have been consistent on that and I'm consistent now you deserve it you ran an amazing campaign the Democrats have not treated you the Democrats they're supposed to be the party of Democrats and democracy they have done everything to go to war with your campaign there is no way the Maga movement are your enemies no way that your real enemy in the process part has been the Democrats that's a fact you know and you could have told me that all day every day six months ago I wouldn't have believed you I had to live it myself and I think that's the power of lived experience this is why talking to each other is so important hearing each other out and and really my goal is to connect with all those people that have been mired by these lies and these um manipulative tactics to get them to be hysterical and fearful of the other American I'm tired of that I want to love our I want us all loving each other again I want us all feeling grateful I want us working together again and the only way we're going to do that is if we see who the real bad actors are yeah
