Intro no [Music] ah [Music] going on everybody thank you for tuning in to another edition of on the road to Victory I'm your host Jimmy Smith and my music just can't stop playing because we're ready to go through a wall in these parts it's game day hope you're all having a good one hope you're ready for some birds football the final preseason game thank you Lord we are so hunting close I can taste it 17 days away from game one we've got a lot to figure out here in the next week and look you know a lot of the backups are going to be playing tonight so don't expect all the starters I know people have been upset last couple of weeks we haven't had the starters out there for every snap I don't want that uh you sold all the injuries last week so that's why this is the time to find out who your depth is they're seeing who their starters are all those other things in practice all the joint practices everything that they're doing so don't let the media get things twisted up here the starters do not need to play so maybe you'll see a couple of the guys just you know to knock off some of this rust maybe they've been banged up things like that but I wouldn't expect to see any kind of crazy things like that but we're going to talk about what this depth chart looks like what guys are at the back of this roster trying to make the roster all that great stuff then we're going to go into the top 25 players that you should be watching tonight all fighting for something here so we're going to talk about all of that yesterday went through talked about the roster locks who's on the bubble and then of course we went through and we talked about the top 15 position battles here and there's so much competition so we'll mention all that stuff we'll get through it so let's effing go I'm gonna jump over here to the chat and then we're gonna get this bad boy started yo my man MJ in here let's go greatness in the air for the Philadelphia Eagles you all know it yo let's go my man tone in here happy to have you my dude I hope you're doing well hope you're ready for some birds football can't thank you guys enough my man Drew in here as well appreciate you all tuning in here but let's get into this here let's look at this Eagles depth chart and we added Fred Johnson back now yesterday we talked about releasing and one of the things that was possible was maybe they're giving him a different contract trying to you know just do different Eagles Depth Chart things move the money around well I think that's exactly what they did because they brought him back and they signed him to a two-year deal here so looks like he'll be making this roster going to have to keep that in mind when I put together that top 53 my projected 53 here on Saturday now you can see look anybody in green here is new to the roster if you've new to the show you haven't seen that here but lots of depth here fighting for jobs a lot of things to be keeping our eyes on and you know from the quarterback to the back end of the running backs receivers tight end everybody's trying to pretty much figure out what the death pieces are and where we're going to need so on offense you know you're talking about quarterback Tanner McQueen Dewey heap of the third quarterback does he do so well tonight that you're like man this guy's not going to pass through waivers we have to keep him here can chance putting him on the practice squad we're going to find out tonight running backs I think penny is a lot to be that third guy Boston's got to be the fourth but maybe Trey sermon can prove something here tonight then looking at the receivers here you've got a plethora of back-end guys we'll see who's healthy who can play but quez been dealing with the hammy issue I mean he's a starter with olamide 3A 3B there for me and you know I think the other guys those are the ones you need to step it up so we'll see if Covey plays tonight I've talked about this I think we stash him on IR just to be real with you um but that opens up a spot here and I think honestly you only keep four wide receivers I don't think these other guys make it if you need to elevate anyone on game day you can do just that and on tight end I think it's the same three as last year but Arnold and Tyree Jackson still have a chance to go out and try to prove that they deserve to be that F-Type tight end over Grand calc era now offense I mean this Line's still one of the best regardless of Jurgens or Steen there but you know Fred Johnson a nice surprise this off season he's been the best Eagle so far this preseason according to PFF and look you know Sills and Steen and Driscoll those are all great pieces to have here as depth so I think you know those nine right there I don't know that Josh Andrews but the guys then on the third string you see here all these guys are going to see a lot of here so lots of competition there Defensive Depth Chart and then on the defensive side of the ball if you're new you can see there's 12 starters here because I want to show you the five-man fronts what that looks like and then you can see the four man fronts so just take out one of those interior guys in between the edge rushers and you add a nickel cornerback so that's why there's 12 here but oh my Lord do we've got some depth here the edge rushers the interior defensive lineman who wants to be that sixth Edge rusher I think Barnett's your fifth guy but oh my God having that deep of edge rushers is pretty pretty awesome and you know whoever wants to step it up Patrick Johnson Kyron Johnson and then the interior guys oh my God that we're talking about you know the top four maybe even five of the Jomo there's two below to Street maybe one of these new guys we added there's a lot of players here and then linebacker man we'll talk about who wants to be the starter and I think tonight is going to be telling of that who we see you know on the defense for the first drive I think the starters maybe see a little bit just to give them a little run together so whoever you see next to Dean that could be pretty telling but you could also see a couple different people on a couple couple different drives so uh we'll see and we'll try to gather that information and then post game we'll talk about it but cornerback talk about what a great battle going on there unfortunately Zach McPherson going to IR but still a lot of talent there so good Rich Garner Ricks Scott all trying to Vibe for that sixth job in my opinion I think Ringo and Joe by your fourth and fifth but a lot of competition there and then at safety who wants to be the starter next to Reed you guys know I'm a huge Sydney Brown fan it was ecstatic to get him during the draft you all know that how much I talked about him before the draft but I don't I don't care either way if he's the starter or not to start the game he will be the starter with Reed eventually but you've got some you know good veterans here and Terrell Evans was brought in Justin Evans brought in Kayvon fighting for his life here so which of these veterans wants to hang out with these young guys so I think you keep four there but a lot of competition there Special Teams Depth Chart then special teams you got rid of Zippos so uh all right I guess he's the only punter so hoping for some good holds and puns tonight but then the return game we've talked about it I haven't really you've just been throwing anybody back there I think during the season I want to see Zacchaeus I want to see penny back there that's the punt and kick returner and you know right now you've got guys like Ward Kane and now Freddie Swain just added in who can do kick returning and punt returning so I'm sure you'll see Swain tonight but got some competition there going to be intriguing how the Eagles will fill this out now I IRs do have an IR here for you as well you're wondering where a certain player is two wide receivers on the IR Cleveland and Rambo then you have a defensive tackle and Ellis linebacker Sean Bradley and cornerback Zach McPherson that was just mentioned there so you see the depth charts you see all that last night we talked about all the top position battles I mean there's just so much much going on here but let's take a look at the Players here in a second let me jump over here and uh let's sicko season my man you know it and it's almost the end of sicko season we have almost made it and I told you I would do my best to get through all of this information keep you oh as entertained as it possibly could and inform so I hope you if you want more in-depth stuff you can go back to last night we Players to Watch talked about every position every damn player but just giving you again you know these are not the starters these are the guys you want to be watching for tonight who you'll actually be able to see so let's talk about it Tanner McKee we had mentioned you know will we keep a third quarterback here and he's been looking good but just like Reed cinemat last year that's great if you're doing good in preseason we need to see it consistently and you know continue to grow and develop and that'll be great now Trey sermon again can he win that fifth job I don't know that we need to keep five but maybe he shows them something as a kick returner Runner tonight we'll find out Deon Kane was banged up from the moment we drafted him now he played the last preseason game been able to practice uh you know a couple days before that so he's been here for a little bit and you know I haven't got to see much but tonight needs to go out there and really show out somebody that two kick return touchdowns last season so looking forward to seeing him going out here and hopefully you know showing what he's got here and again you know this is just the back end guys this is who we are talking about and then you're looking at Joseph NADA and I think you know again he and Cleveland were leading the pack as the back end guys and still really like his game but I also don't think that you need to keep him on this roster you could try to get him on the practice squad but looking forward to see if he can have another good game here for first one not so great second pretty decent um so we'll see how he does in this third one now Freddie Sweeney just added it yesterday we talked about his return capability let's F and go got a returner here but keep in mind you know these guys are added because you need bodies for the end of the preseason here you know you don't want to hurt the guys that are actually going to be on the team so he'll be here to help as a returner help as a receiver he'll get his work and I'm intrigued to see what he's got here in this one game now I had mentioned calcaterra and stole but um you know calcaterra I think that he's got a bright future continue developing but Dan Arnold the vet Kyrie Jackson high upside there so um he's got an injury history but these two guys I want to see if they can do something to earn their spot on the practice squad don't know that they push out calcaterra but in case anything were to happen you need some guys on the practice squad so we'll see if they can show out tonight now on the offensive line here Josh Sills I have him as a lock to make this roster but you know with all the you know stuff that was going on for him I'm happy to see him back he's only had a little bit of time first game I liked it last game he got his ass kicked a few times and I saw did not like that want to see him get things together want to see a much better game tonight Tyler Steen he's a lock to make it not so sure how much you're going to see him but man when you do see him I'd like to see this kid continue to dominate not only at tackle but at guard as well so this dude provides you great great Services as death beasts but he is the future at Right Guard so looking forward to watching him develop more tonight in the preseason game and then Dennis Kelly you just heard me say about Fred Johnson to me you know signing that two-year deal that kind of makes him a lock to me to make this roster we talked about could Dennis Kelly show that you know yeah I'm older but uh I can provide a veteran presence I don't think we need it we've already got those guys here and you talk about the talent you know the death we have behind this starting line you know and that sting and Sills and Driscoll we talked about Fred Johnson I think very excited about that and I'd made this actually before Fred Johnson uh got resigned and it was to talk about these guys but Fred Johnson I will be uh Fred Johnson intrigued to see how much he actually plays but I think you know he's a good backup left tackle to have so I think the Eagles are happy with that and I am too so look um a lot of backhand stuff you're going to see tonight that's just pretty much how it is um you're not gonna see starters it's not going to be super exciting kind of game I wouldn't be betting money anything like that so uh Yoma man doing well hope all is well with you appreciate you taking the time here ready for some game time baby and uh yeah man you know I talk about him a lot I I do love them but that's something we're going to mention here in a second uh he just had his appendectomy there so we'll see and we'll hope but I appreciate you my man bird gang hit that like button you guys are getting anything from this we're about to go through the next one and yeah well he could going up against those backups I would like to see it and uh let's go almost put six five on there for you but I'm gonna be honest with you I thought those other receivers to me bring a little bit more in other areas but hey Johnny King would like to see him you know try to make it on the practice spot six foot five he can continue to do something tonight I would be perfectly fine with it but appreciate you tuning in Liz now we went through the 10 horn offense let's go through the top 14 on Defense defense here and who there is uh dude I really had to cut this down again I'm like damn it because there's just so many players I want to talk about now obviously I love Jalen Carter Jordan Davis I didn't predict the Eagles picking both of them the last two years for nothing but you know I think that you need to see if there's going to be this you know we talk about a giomo being that uh fifth guy is there a sixth and seventh you know two below two in Street you're not you're not keeping more than that even six is lot but two below to really like them Street love what he's been able to do love his versatility and uh then you added Robert Cooper another but this guy is a real nose tackle and he can actually move for a nose tackle so really impressed by his game and look forward to seeing what he can do with this one game maybe he can work himself up to that practice squad that'd be great to see but uh Street and Tupelo too if they could both make this roster that'd be pretty cool now Edge rushers Kyron Patrick Johnson and then Terron Jackson here I think that you know Kyron Johnson I obviously getting called out in the chat here but I talk about him a lot 4-3 speed he plays Edge rusher he can play off ball stack linebacker he did that in college so I think this is somebody that you know maybe he gets stashed on IR if he has that so that's one of the things I'm watching for tonight for Kyron Johnson is he playing if not you know obviously he just had something done there but um I'd be hopeful he made the practice go I don't know that he would because he's got such high upside Patrick Johnson I loved too I thought he did well and uh it was unfortunate when he got banged up because he really needs to prove himself but man uh if they can play tonight I'd like to see them out there but I totally understand trying to be safe with them uh let's hope if they do go to the practice squad you know nobody plucks them off the waivers there before that happens now Terron Jackson he was kicking ass last game you know I liked him from last year I am a fan but I hit such a stacked room that I'm just hopeful that you know he does well tonight but not too well that somebody takes him from us but I imagine they will so best of luck in your future endeavors to Ron Jackson but I'd like to see him and I think he has a big game tonight now on to the linebackers Ben van sumerin and Tyrique Maddox Williams Quentin Bell there those are the three I have listed um the other guys you know I've talked about this I think that it's clear you know Dean and Moro and Ellis and Cunningham you're going to have those four I think that's the four that we keep but you know one of these guys could be on the practice squad and you know again we talk about it's telling who we see at linebacker tonight for that first drive that will be very telling so we'll want to look for that but these linebackers on the back end I want to see if anybody can stand out we talked about Tyrique Maddox Williams and Clinton Bell the other day and two intriguing prospects with you know some NFL experience that could hey maybe shine on the practice squad you need them throughout the season maybe something happens but Ben and zoomeran new to the linebacker position but I love his game his athleticism so excited to see what he can do tonight now at cornerback we've got good Rich Ricks and Garner and all three of them been doing really well this all season and you know if I had to rank them it would be Goodrich Garner and then Rick's but they all you know are doing so well that it's going to be tough for the Eagles to decide now and you know I think for me losing Zach McPherson obviously for those three is the best thing that ever happened because that gives them more opportunity I didn't think we would keep seven but I wanted them one of them to make it hard and uh look now one of them only has to be the sixth maybe you keep a second as the seventh but whoever does it you know you're praying they make the practice squad I think all three of those young Corners right there very excited about them and looking forward to watching them tonight then at safety you've got Kayvon Wallace and Justin Evans now I already told you I think that Reed and sitting here the starters of the future Terrell Edmonds I think is that veteran that is definitely here between these two is my opinion uh who the fourth will be so I'm going to be watching both of them intently see who the Eagles want to roll with as that fourth safety and look we saw Evans back there returning balls and stuff I mean they're just trying to find out what these guys can bring to the table people so we'll find out now you're asking yourself now you're doing Special Teams the math here and you didn't you say job 25 that was 10 and 14 and if I add them together that's only 24. well guess what I've got one for you and it's one that gets me a little bit worked up if you can't tell and that's well I'll make it the same face inside that he's making right here Aaron sippos so sippos I suppose is going to be the only guy out there now that talk about oh he's you know the holder so you have to have that relationship with kicker which is so true I agree but the fact that he didn't bring anyone else in to try to build that relationship other than gregatron old Ty zentner here who completely sucked ass last week and got cut before the 90-man cut down period so yeah I guess we're riding with simple so you got one special teamer here ladies and gentlemen to round out the 25 and it's Aaron effing sippos so whoo please go out here and show us that you're not like because what we talked about last night was oh maybe this is a vote of confidence where I'm like oh good job you know that's your job you don't have to compete anymore but also you're taking it away from them showing him there's no competition let's see if he gets complacent messes up old Shanks upon like in the
