Golf Tournament Prep: Short Game Tune Up

Intro hi friends it's Paige and welcome back to my YouTube channel as you guys know I have an event coming up and so I'm taking you with me week by week so you can see how I'm getting ready but here is the exciting news I can finally announce what the event is I'm going to be playing in the Creator classic at East Lake before the Tour Championship so it is going to be absolutely insane there are so many really talented creators I am so lucky to be included but your girl your girl is very nervous for this one because it is stroke play and I haven't played stroke play in a very very long time and uh there's going to be a lot of eyes on on the stream and uh I'm nervous I'm nervous as you guys know I get really anxious and uh I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to uh tournament play around stroke play and I've gone a a really long way in kind of like my mental journey of just being more comfortable playing and keeping score but this is obviously taking it to the next level but um I love this thing pressure is a privilege and I am so lucky to be in this position so I'm going to hopefully sees the moment and it will be absolutely amazing hopefully so with that said we are now three weeks out and we are going to work on our short game making sure our short game is nice and right exactly where it needs to be because I know that when I get nervous I tend to get a little wild off the team with my Approach shots so that means that I have to rely heavily on my short game and so um knowing your weaknesses is huge for preparing and getting better so as I'm also playing keeping score I'm out on the golf course right now and uh challenging myself playing uh from a little bit longer to get my long irons in shape cuz I do struggle with my long irons and then also practicing my short game so we're going to do a really fun drill and I'm going to take you over to that drill Drill right now 10 up and downs let's go [Music] nah [Music] aahah [Music] I got to take a picture real fast and I'll be back [Music] Practice one thing I'm also trying to do is practice at facilities that really have firm and fast greens because that's the type of conditions that I'm going to be seeing and so um here at uh the DU Highlands Ranch practice facility the greens are really firm and they're fast and there's a lot of undulation and so it's sometimes not fun to practice on because you do have these really challenging shots but it's the best thing uh for me and so I'm just looking for facilities for the next couple weeks that have the most firm and fast screens cuz that's really going to prepare me for what I'm going to see because again it's like concrete and it's like rolling on marble floor people don't realize how tough the conditions are that these guys play in and how good they truly are because of how narrow the fairways are How firm and fast it plays and you just really can't miss and so I know I have to like prepare myself for that type of Challenge and that's what we're doing today because that shot I hit I could not have hit that shot any better I landed it perfectly even killed some of the speed but with the slope being severely downhill um it just rolled out to where it is so I normally also practice with my 54 and I hit my 54 everywhere cuz I feel like I can really control a spin that way but I think I'm going to start practicing also with my 58 cuz I think I'm going to need that extra spin on those firm fast screens so that's going to be next on the list where I'll do uh the 10 up and down game with my 58 next instead of just with my 54 and start preparing and getting used to that [Music] [Music] [Music] what I'm learning is that chipping is actually pretty good and a good spot considering some of the hard shots that I picked putting we need to work on putting big [Music] [Music] time and that is the up and down drill I Outro hope you guys enjoyed that is one of my all-time favorites gets my short game sharp and as we all know short game is so incredibly important so make sure you're also working on your short game as I'm working on my short game as we are 3 weeks out so now I am trying to work on things on the golf course work on my short game and we're moving into two weeks very very soon and when we get to that point it's all about playing and scoring so we're going to talk about that in the next video so make sure you are subscribed to my channel leave a comment down below wish you good luck I feel like I need it I am like struggling a little bit fensively getting prepared for this I'm being totally transparent um so a nice little comment down below uh like the video and I will see you next Thursday bye
