this latest game against the Vikings what did you take away from that one I tell you Michelle it's really almost impossible what happened I mean because 33 points I mean obviously in the 102 year history the league has never been done it was incredible how they played and and you know how disappointing uh poorly we played we let them steal our lunch money we just let them take it away from us after so many years of having that stability at quarterback you really wanted Matt Ryan what did you see in him that made you believe that he was going to be the answer that you needed I think we went on the Odyssey of you know Rivers Winston and and and now Ryan this year and you know you try to fill this massive void with Matt he's such an outstanding man such an outstanding leader one of the greatest leaders I've ever been around he's given us everything he has but we're hoping Nick Foles can get the ball downfield more we're we're hoping there's going to be a spark there they fired their head coach Frank Reich after extending him last summer what kind of conversations did you and Frank have leading up to his dismissal well we had um multiple conversations I reluctantly gave Frank an extension sooner than I wanted to When You See It really really coming apart then um you realize that you have to make that change um you know Frank's Forever part of the Horseshoe and and he's beloved he very well made coach again big time and we're rooting for him to do that after you let go Frank Reich then your next move was both unexpected and unprecedented why Jeff Saturday Michelle the the process was was a very very unusual process where the New England game ended and instantly engaged with Jeff Jeff had to be certain did you talk to Karen your wife are you sure you're all in had Jeff Saturday said no and politely declined Frank Reich would not have been relieved of his duties certainly not that week there the route to interim interim but how yet again that is a missed opportunity for a diverse candidate it was something where we were right in line with the Rooney Rule and we are under great pressure believe me it wasn't until 1 30 in the morning almost before it was going to be clear that Jeff was going to become our our head coach so there's not time to go through the the longer Rooney Rule process but it is an interim coach and at the end of the year that's when the process steps forward if we're having this conversation in six months you and I get to sit down and chat who's your head coach who's your GM who's your quarterback head coach is unknown until the interview process goes forward I will go into it seriously open-minded and I'll be looking for the best direction for us to win Jeff I believe is an outstanding candidate so obviously you know he's competitive for that you know Chris Ballard will be our general manager and the quarterback it's very much up in the air right now on what direction we'll be going this journey uh you know keeps going and and I'm all in for it
