FROM LAST NIGHT. GOOD MORNING. WE'RE HEARING THE SOUND OF GENERATORS. THAT'S WHAT YOU HEAR THE NEXT DAY, BECAUSE THERE'S NO POWER IN ■THE NEIGHBORHOOD. AND WE'RE GOING TO SHOW YOU WHY THERE'S NO POWER HERE. WE'RE IN HER BACKYARD. YOU WENT WITHOUT POWER LAST NIGHT. BUT TELL ME ABOUT THAT STORM. WHAT DID IT LOOK LIKE TO YOU? IT WAS NOTHING LIKE I'VE EVER SEEN BEFORE. THE WATER WAS JUST BLOWING LIKE A SHEET. COULDN'T SEE ACROSS THE STREET. IT WAS NOTHING LIKE I SAID. NOTHING LIKE I'VE EVER SEEN BEFORE. JUST CRAZY WIND AND RAIN. THE WIND WAS UNBELIEVABLE. YOU WERE OUTSIDE YESTERDAY IN YOUR POOL, ENJOYING YOUR POOL BECAUSE IT WAS SO HOT. BUT YOU SAW THAT THINGS WERE KIND OF WHIPPING UP. WELL, MY SON'S GIRLFRIEND WAS COMING OVER, SO I THOUGHT, WELL, I'M GOING TO TAKE A QUICK DIP AND COOL OFF BECAUSE IT WAS HUMID RIGHT? AND THEN SHE CAME OVER LIKE MAYBE AN HOUR LATER AND RIGHT AS SHE GOT HERE, THAT'S WHEN THE WIND REALLY STARTED PICKING UP. SO NOW WE SEE YOU CANNOT ENJOY YOUR POOL TODAY. I CANNOT. OKAY, SO THAT'S THAT OR TOMORROW I'M SURE. OH I HOPE YOU CAN GET IT BACK. BUT WHERE DOES THAT LINE COME FROM? THAT LINE COMES FROM THAT POLE RIGHT UP THERE. SO THE POLES IN YOUR BACKYARD. SOMETHING SNAPPED OFF. YEP. THAT PIECE IS IN THE NEXT YARD. AND THEN THE LINE GOES THAT THAT LINES ALL THE WAY DOWN FROM DOWN AT THE END OF THE STREET, WHICH IS FOUR HOUSES DOWN. THAT'S SIG JAN'S HUSBAND, YOU SAW WHERE IT WENT DOWN IN THE STREET? YEAH, DOWN AT BOW STREET. THAT'S WHERE IT STARTS. AND IT ENDS DOWN FIVE HOUSES DOWN. THEY TORE IT ALL THE WAY DOWN. IT'S OVER SOMEONE'S GARAGE DOWN THERE. IT LOOKS LIKE IT'S HIT A COUPLE OF POOLS. OH, I DON'T KNOW ABOUT ANYBODY ELSE'S POOL, BUT I'M SEEING STUFF. I DON'T KNOW EITHER. MAYBE I'M JUST. IT'S NOT A POOL. THAT'S JUST. OKAY. YEAH, THAT'S JUST A LINE. IS JUST. SO YOU TRIED TO REACH COMED. CALL COMED LAST NIGHT. STAYED ON HOLD FOR OVER AN HOUR. COULDN'T GET THROUGH. SO THEN WE WENT TO BED. AND THEN WHEN I GOT UP THIS MORNING AND HADN'T SEEN ANYBODY OUT HERE, I TRIED CALLING AGAIN THIS MORNING, PROBABLY AROUND 730, AND LET THEM KNOW THAT THE LINE WAS LAYING OVER THE POOL AND THEY SAID, WE'LL GET SOMEBODY RIGHT OUT. THAT WOULD SEEM LIKE A CRISIS NOW. SO NOW WE'RE WAITING. YOU HAVEN'T HAD POWER. WAS IT HOT LAST NIGHT? IT WAS HUMID. YEAH. YEAH, IT WAS HUMID. ALL RIGHT, WELL, I GUESS YOU ARE WAITING AND HOPEFULLY YOU'LL BE ABLE TO GET THAT OFF THE POOL AND THEN POWER BACK TO YOUR HOUSE, HOPEFULLY SOON. JAN. THANK YOU. I KNOW THEY HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF EMERGENCIES AND STUFF FIRST, BUT IT IS KIND OF I WOULD SAY. SO. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWING US AROUND. SO YEAH, THERE'S A WAITING GAME HERE IN DES PLAINES.
