coaches show right here on 1360 wow W 102.9 and Wow TV with me coach Roco doin and Matt jarvey here coach good to be with you oh it's great to be here as always you know those kind of things happened last week you know it was kind of ironic you you hit it really on the head talking about those guys that they weren lacked in size but they had a lot of athletes absolutely very athletic kids a lot of quickness out there they were they were flying around you know they had they they weren't going to take us lightly um and uh they made some good plays when they needed to make good plays you know if you go back and uh and watch the game and all that we covered on Wild TV what I saw there when I kind of comment on they kind of look like fire ants or army ants or bees right right right right and and then I watched uh CV CV they did some interviews after the game last week that they had and uh also the game you know with us and they uh they commented that they had worked with Coach on swarming the ball especially on defense and that's exactly what it looked like absolutely they were like a swarming defense they did a good job of getting guys the ball and and and that kind of thing and you know and uh and I give them all the credit for that you know they had a good game plan going they they played well they played hard um I think ultimately we beat ourselves just with lack of discipline and penalties and those kind of things so um I think you know if if you know we couldn't run three or four plays without a penalty and you can't win a game that way offensively so you're trying to you're you're expecting to put up big points and everything and then they did do well on defense um but if we didn't get any penalties we mov the ball pretty well and then all of a sudden penalty and then you know it's second and 25 uh instead of second and eight or second and three you know um right and uh but they definitely we didn't run the ball as well as we wanted to because they they were swarming the ball very well um but we just got it you know we learned from it I think that's that's the whole question did we learn from it but I think at halftime we had a good talk with our kids and then after the game um but I think they they got to learn if if things go wrong you can't lose your cool and I think you know the kids weren't happy with some of the calls early but it doesn't matter you got to keep playing and and uh they allowed that for them to you know go out and be undisciplined and make worse plays and so then the flags started flying and they were legit Flags you know at that point you know cuz the kids were you know a little bit undisciplined and and uh and and I take that and I tell them too like I'm just as much at fault as they are you know um because when bad things happen you got to learn how to control it and in week one when bad things happened we kept playing we kept cool we kept you know week two you know the kids wanted to blame the refs right out the gate and then they started playing worrying about that instead of playing football yeah and uh and you just got to let whatever happens happen you know we have no control over any call just keep playing and we didn't do that if we would have done that we would have won that game you even though look you don't see it on the scoreboard 276 um but we knew they were going to score 20 yeah we knew they were going to score 18 you know we just we felt we could go score 40 right but we didn't we didn't play disciplin to do that and uh but credit to them because they did play hard and they did run around um so uh but I think I think definitely was a game where we beat ourselves and if we learn from that we're going to be just fine going forward if we don't learn from it it's going to be a long year yeah so uh you were right though number one or number five for the for the those guys were you the blue devs they were tough yeah quarterback's really good number 10 yeah uh and number five number one yeah yeah tough kid go tough waves well and you you had this thing right too rock you talked about it you know you got a young Squad you're going to have those kind of problems it's almost like back to the drawing board in a lot of areas and you've had veteran squads before where they they've learned that you've taught that to them yes and you kind of have to go back to drawing board and uh you know you're getting them there it's just going to take work just like always right absolutely and that's it that's funny you said that cuz that's that's what we told them you know when uh there's only one way to get better and that's to work you know you get to work um you know you could you can complain and and make excuses you know I told them just like if a kid do not get as much playing time as they want right I'm unhappy about my playing time well I can either blame the coach yeah and still get less playing time or I can go to work get work and then find my way on the field somewhere same thing you lose a game you get either blame everybody else blame the coaches blame the rest blame the guy next to me and then nothing's going to get better yeah or I can we as a team could get to work and uh I feel like this week in practice we've gotten to work um so hopefully that translates to uh to to a good performance you know against birkshire yeah yeah it brings to birkshire too the the Badgers they look on roster look similar to Independence not a whole lot of size couple of big guys you know but a lot of smaller guys would they are they quick too they play a lot of speed or I mean they're one and one along with us yeah yeah they got they got I think I think they're similar to us you know maybe maybe not the huge you know um but they got some they got enough big guys up front and uh they got a bigger roster than than uh Independence did and uh they they run a similar offense us actually do they it's very similar I mean they run exactly the same stuff we run they do get into like a power Run game Deal for sometimes but their base when they come out start the game both games is just it's like we look like we're playing ourselves as far as the style oh no kidding you know yeah a lot of inside Zone Zone read counter power um they got a wing back a lot the kicks you know it's very similar offense than we do um Sprint pass those kind of things and uh they get in that stuff but yeah I mean they're they're a very talented team um I think they're very similar to us and in an ability you know they they L actually they beat a very good kyoga Heights team um things went their way and then they lost bad to a very good Hawkin team so they played to two very good teams they're one and one you know so uh but I think our kids are going to be excited for the white out game and um home first game at home that's always exciting and I think you play a little bit better when you you got that kind of hype going so if we can keep our composure keep disciplined and play it's going to be a great game yeah I hope it's a little bit shorter I'm sure you guys do too as well cuz that was a long game uh this past Friday well when you end up throwing the ball like 30 something times that happens right both teams threw the ball and I know we threw it a lot more than we wanted to so well and you show and you guys showed how how uh you know we're pretty tough out there we didn't barely have anybody down on the field they had a lot of players down for extended time sometimes you took up a lot of time off the clock absolutely absolutely they really did so yeah you know I thought Ryan played well in the second half Ryan Turner uh you know I mean some of the guys did they really turned it around and started started really trying uh you know when he gets out of hand that's what you look for right right absolutely uh Ryan had a great game you know it was his second game in a row with a block kick those little things like people don't notice yeah uh and I think he has 10 catches in two games which should be about 13 if wasn't for penalties you know 13 14 catches he's just he's a special kid a captain and uh I think he end up with like six catches for 90 yards and all in the second half except for maybe one right uh but just he's he's a very good leader and a very good captain and uh and he's going to make plays and you know teams are going to start saying how do we stop their tight end you know um which just allows more openings for other people to get the ball so who was another another stand out we don't call their name very often was it Sabo yeah Sabo great heck of a you know sophomore undiz linebacker probably weighs 140 soaking wet oh no Kidd and uh he just flies to the ball he played very well he's a that flies the ball um he had a really good game we're very proud of his performance uh you know you know so there there were there was some good things if you it's just we can't have those kind of penalties you know yeah even if even if a couple we don't agree with that that's how that's football you don't agree with every car right you know you can't you can't let that compound into a bunch of you know unnecessary Flags especially when that gets kind of compounded on top of uh a couple of touchdowns called back and you know it starts to pile up on them and yeah so you yeah you're you're the guy that can get these guys straight down back on track I'm sure that so I'm sure they realize that once they once they get past the game and cool down a little bit they they understand they've responded well this week so I just want to see it live you know what I mean I want to see them I was so proud of week one and I was like okay well week two we didn't follow the same suit so let's let's learn from that and and move on cuz if you learned from it that wins you games down the road you know so you know maybe we win that game and then we lose later because we're not disciplined so hopefully we hope hopefully we cleaned up the discipline issue and we move on and uh good things to come so yeah I I wasn't used to I don't know the last time I saw a team that played defense quite the way they did too so sometimes it's that that new look it presents a whole bunch of new problems right right right you really don't know one know what to do about it they're swarming the ball I mean they were everywhere so you like you said with the speed but coach I wish you all the best of luck we're going to have a great time Friday night weather's going to be nice going to be the white mutters are tonight yeah we had a a delay for a 7:30 start right which we're right on the doorstep there right now here comes the kick it is off down the field bouncing we got uh wet Windows here too and I'm not sure how that's for sure how well we're going to be able to see anything taking out of Bounds at about the 28 yeah it's number 22 there for those guys that would be Oliver Miller a sophomore running back on the kicking team receiving that ball thus hya was the kicker for kanyan and he's got to have the greatest name in sports yeah Thaddius hya and a good player too by the way yes he is he's uh you know we don't have a K on our schedule I was talking with and Ben's here with us too Ben jarvey I appreciate Ben being here he's working on our technical problems that we have see if we can't uh you know sometimes electronic things they just they stop working and we don't know why uh it has a little light it you know a little white light and the light's coming on it's going off on and going off but it won't stay on at least we have the audio right Matt yeah and we're still we're still going to try to uh interrogate uh Steve later on to find out if he did anything to the capture card but that's after the game you know right now uh not sure what happened here man there's players running off the field there players running onto the field are they going to re kick this I think so and I'm not sure why I don't know either well yeah I don't know why EI either you know I'd like to turn off this front light turn on the backlight I think is what we should do cuz we got some glare on the window along with the rain that is adding too many too many problems well we don't know why there's a thatoi going to kick off again but here he goes short kick and down at about the 30 in Amish Country right where you can go get some honey you can get the they that's a lot of the the be caps and stuff like that come from down there right I've gotten them before [Music] it doesn't touchdown yeah thanks that's good that's good least something I can see a little bit out of there terrible condition though 70 yd touchdown got dead for Burkshire bugs in there David we were thinking about shutting these off and turning the back ones on what do you think cuz there's so much glare on the Windows yeah we're supposed to have the back one on whoa hey and they're going for the extra ran oh fumbles the uh snap and throws for and gets two got two points that's eight points for the for the Badgers to start this game off the holder fumbled the ball 1143 here picked it up and threw to happening tonight all right well that didn't take long for a score okay trying to get hooked up here with our camera if we can yeah maybe this is a a new a new plug I don't know so Kanye will uh see see we're trying to call the game and also work on our technical problem folks kind and the weather too because we're inside here and the windows uh we need some rinck on these windows for sure that would help a lot cuz it's just kind of uh it's making it a blurry mess and we can't necessarily open them up because well you know true I wiped that off too Roman persk from Berkshire kicking off a they count on him a lot they'll count on Brady Viera Isaiah Ryan Turner Thaddius Kobe stter of course the uh quarterback and the big lineman cheddy R Carroll Jaden Anderson Dylan Phillip Gavin nbed you'll hear their names probably most of the night the core of the team isah BS is third and rushing in Ash County right now in the CBC another hard carry he gets out about to the 43 and then they push him back but that's where L Market forward progress at the 43 yd line right good run hard run that'll bring up a fourth down in about three from the 40 2 their own 42 I would imagine they would punt but they're looking at the coach for directions Aaron Johnson lined up on the far side as a tight end transfer student in from Geneva this year snap back hands off to Isaiah bus tried to go around the left side they stop him yes they did he did not get the first down I am really surprised at that call no it looks like they're trying to mark that at the 42 I didn't even know if he got up to that point I don't think so either they may have lost a yard yeah it'll be a first down though for not sure why he uh coach doberan called that one I'm not sure well he must have seen maybe a weakness in the defense I don't know I mean Isaiah's our guy and you know the best thing you can do for running back is give him the ball and and let him develop his game that's what he needs and he's as I was hitting on there he's third right now in the CBC late conference only going to get better he's a soft rushing he's got 246 yards so far with two games not bad excellent start yes birkshire is in in very good threatening territory there in in Spartan territory looking over the sideline for the play Sam barosi is their quarterback yeah they got two guys on the far side and a that's a pass out it's overthrown looks like we had an opportunity for an interception there but uh he was wasn't quite in the right spot yeah good coverage yeah Aaron Johnson who who uh came up on that one after playing defense he came up down an opportunity to pick that one up running play up the middle again couple of hard font yards they finally gets they're going to call them down to the 36 yd line to bring up a third down and five why distan on the stop how do you see his name again the quarterback of barosi what's that Barson Kowski the quarterback yeah marowski marowski bakosi sounds good to me it's a snap he's rolling out to the left side throws out to the sideline almost picked off again by Spartan there's a badger got his left hand on it Senter it off of uh veering off a little bit and we had a chance to catch that ball and that was uh see who it is looking through a blurry window this like the worst oh these numbers are so hard to pick up too I think Isaiah was in on the uh yeah rush and it might have been aen G who was in there too as well had an opportunity to pick that one up fourth and five Bakowski looking for direction from his sideline they at the Connie at 36 hands off looking for some running room and he goes up the middle he's breaking free there's one guy to catch him but he's oh he's dragging everybody down the field and he's almost down to the 10 yd line first down and more off left tackle very good run yeah burer came into this game at one and one along with us we're both at oneon-one right now even though they had beat a good kayoga Heights football team and they lost to U not Harvey who was it Hawkin and they lost to a very good Hawkin team yes this uh they don't look big but they are very quick and fast Barson kowsky is back hands off again that time the sporton wrap him up and drop him for a loss immediately stopped [Applause] bring up a third down or it still second yeah second down it's raining pretty good out here yes it is I think we got past the the lightning on this storm though so we can get this game in barowski is back in the shotgun he's looking to throw got some pressure on him he lets to go to The End Zone on the side oh he of the end zone there was a couple of Defenders there that hadn't made their way out there to where he was so he was all Burkshire with two quick scores here yeah catching that but doing a lot of throwing in the rain which is surprising to say the least persk with a kick there was a kick and the whistle blew right away and we might have been off sides we might have got a jump on that one now last time his uh holder Abram Southern bobbled the ball pers picked it up and threw in the Uno for two points instead of one unexpected but now they're up 15 to nothing taking a lot of time here to get set just for the extra point I don't know why you know we didn't know much about them uh you know rock eluded to it in the coaches show that they they play a lot like we do yeah similar they like to throw the ball similar defense it's a handoff again looking for two that time and he got in did he get in Oliver Miller Oliver Miller again y 815 left 16 to nothing already by The Berkshire Badgers so Connie offense got to get started here right Matt yeah I would say so I would say now it looks like we're trying to run the ball with Isaiah quite a bit here but they might have to try throwing it the way the birkshire is doing it very impressed with uh Burkshire so far offense and defense not big yeah I mean the most I know about him Steve was that when it comes time for the playoffs when we're looking for points and and how much we're doing and uh what we need and so forth they were always they always seem to be in there with us battling for that last spot that's right and uh that's been a couple of times now at least two or perhaps three times yeah they're a solid team well coached 16 to nothing right now 815 to go here in the first quarter and birkshire is off and running they sure are persk kicking off a little bit longer this time it caught by Hoya Here Comes thus to the left side and oh oh and he gets nailed and brought down he was hammered looked like he had a hole there to to slip through but he got nailed before he got to it Aiden wiser no that wasn't Aiden wiser number 17 Aiden wiser popped him 59 180 Junior Yeah clean hit and uh and daon marker was in there on that hit to it okay so the Spartans take over the 30 Matt their own 30 it's not out of control right now they've got all they got to do is kind of close the gap here and move the ball and get some first downs here and move the ball down the field and don't fumble because there's a steady rain here hang on to that ball sner gets a hands off the ball he drops the ball and there's a flag that's thrown in on top of it as soon as I said that he fumbled the ball but there is a flag on the play you know it looked like it was a decent handoff but I I don't I don't know wet out there the ball's wet yeah the penalty is against the Spartans it was a fumble and they recovered it okay so now Burkshire will get the ball again again and they're inside Spartan's 30 yd line boy it's hard to see I think that's what they called right I'm sorry I didn't even see him recover the ball this is tough tough conditions worse for them though the players barowski is in there two white outs on the far side one on the near side rolling out to the right looking to throw the ball got some pressure he gets nailed oh and nailed again fumble the ball is fum [Applause] and I think Burkshire recovered yeah I think they got it back that was a hard hit that came in there I think that was uh hit by Dylan Philip among others yes it was Dylan Dylan came in there awfully fast laid a big hit on him right excellent pressure by the uh lineman of the uh kany Spartans that'll move him back to uh the 37 yd line that might have been what they needed too because it seemed like birkshire is not respecting the cony defense that much and I think that's what that hit was all about I think so too that we're here too and we know how to play football Barca gets the ball it's a hand off the other side to the tight end excellent call he's got some Running Room he gets nailed uh finally brought down right about at the 20 yd line number 80 Andrew kton 510 190 senior yeah Casey Hayes uh got him by the Sho strings there brought him down first and 10 16 nothing here with 648 left in the first period and they moving the ball again they throw a lot of looks at you that's that's your tight end who ran that last one that's right barowski looking to throw the ball again he hands off up the middle and he got a couple yeah sneaks through there gets himself down almost to the 14 yd line and just a constant downpour here is that not really downpour what would you call it Sab and chedy AR Caroll in on the stop of the guy uh the runner got couple yards now looking over the sideline for what what the coach wants to call for a play doesn't seem to matter what every everything they've called so far in this game has worked barowski again looking to throw the ball into the end zone he's wide open but overthrow oh he overthrew him this is kind of disturbing their white outs are always uh seem to be white open in the end zone they got they got a left-handed quarterback and he's got some confidence third and six for the Badgers at the at kan's 29 yd line excuse me 19 yd line well you're right Matt they're throwing a lot of looks at the Spartan Defense yeah they're going to have to adjust real fast here both running and in the air that's another one of those again and he had him in the back field oh broke a tackle what a nice run by uh number 80 who was that coming over this Sal andw kton who's coming over this salov uh 5 mat swiger Swagger he almost got him in the back field but uh yes he did but uh that tight end Andrew kimton yeah got a lot of power there first and 10 at the 15 520 left in the first quarter first and goal Badgers up 16 nothing marowski hands off to the right off the middle oh and he runs carries the touchdown no just right on the goal line just short i' call it the one foot line it is really close man you're right and he had he probably had about three Spartans with him as he was dragging him towards the end Zone this offense they go off tackle left off tackle right right up the middle their passing game is excellent Marson Kowski that time was under center it's a running play right up the middle and that's all it took and that was uh who's that big running back who was that guy I mean he must weigh 250 Bounds at least what number is he I can't see from here yeah they got a really small number on the front of them yeah I don't know it's big boy staying in there well with 428 left in the first period think he's a lineman Burkshire is up 22 to nothing they're trying the extra point again yeah these guys are on a roll per they plan to kick go down gets up and there blocked blocked bad snap so it's another block though who was that that's uh 20 yep uh delin nap that transfer student that we had yes clear back and I think they were here when he was in eighth grade I believe it was mhm and he's played very well he really has well M we got to get something going here there's still four 28 left here in the first period they're down 22 to nothing our Spartans are you know uh Dev Napp is uh is third in the CBC Lake Conference in tackles 16 so really yeah so he's doing very well a good start for him I think that's a big part of it too we got these these three transfer guys that came in yeah I see very bright spots popping up about them we have to find out a way to get them involved in the game right I think that would help a lot got a little bit of rain going on in there over in the window don't we Steve it's a little bit rainy over there for you P with a nice kick yeah it is well there's some running going on there but not a whole lot going down field finally gets his way over about to the 29 yd line going to mark that first down for the Spartans Castellano takes it 22 to nothing here doesn't get a lot of yardage he went to the left uh yeah Berkshire 4 minutes and 20 seconds left here in the first quarter so far Berkshire with great coverage is all birkshire Badgers here tonight they're doing it all Matt offense defense special teams Yep they're a they're a good good ball Club very well coached oh over his head snap over his head oh I don't think he got it oh Burkshire gets the ball stiler fumbled the ball and lost it wow oh this is just not a good start here at the 14 yd line tough start for the Spartans we're still in the first period 413 left they've already got 22 points and it makes you wonder how well they would play if uh if the weather was clear yeah really steady rain it's the running play again going off the left side doing a sweep that's Oliver Miller he gets inside the 10 about to the 8 yd line I think that's where they're going to mark it down who came up to get him Hayes K Hayes I think came up to get him made a nice stop rain is still just uh just just steady ongoing yes no break whatsoever well it's the same for both teams so yes it is rowski was under Center the running play at the middle into the end zone right tackle another touchdown my goodness 28 to nothing and we're only in the first quarter and still 332 left can't what's going on mat when their quarterback Barson cowsky or whatever when he when he lines up right behind the center he gets amazingly low yeah notice that yes I mean he's a big guy and he's down extremely low y oh man I am soaked here yeah how are you so dry well we don't have the window open all the way no I understand why you had it open too oops okay and going for two again it's a running play off off the right tackle and I think that is in yes it is two more points that takes them to 30 30 to nothing here quick very Qui at the spark our Spartans are down they're losing 332 left and Rocco dolber the coach has really got his work cut out for him and adjusting to this good offense and defense of the Burkshire Badgers yeah [Music] [Music] wow you know it's not like they're overwhelmingly bigger than us they're about the same size and they're they're just having their own way with everybody yeah they're able to execute and uh absolutely doing it very very well here they got to stop this yeah whoa there's the kick it is going off to the left side bounces about might be out of bounds and that'll be a flag bounce at the 14 and one out of bounds they'll probably place it at what the 30 it's running it out to the Umpire the Umpire is kind of walking it off not pacing it off but he's walking sort of and he throws the ball away we don't need that anymore the placing it at the 35 that's where the marker is yes at the 35 at the 35 so from the 10 to the 35 yeah that's a pretty good Mark pretty good Mark Spartans are lining up right now three and a half left to play got two wi outs on the near side sner is back again trying to keep his hands dry yes gets the ball throws up across the middle is picked almost pck off almost picked off by number 22 yeah it's Oliver Miller it was intended for Thaddius hya and Oliver Miller just stepped right in front of him well thrown ball yes that was uh was open but little overthrown a little bit Oliver Miller though uh but the right idea I like the call yeah I mean you could tell Miller is one of them guys he can do it all oh yeah he's doing a great job on offense running the ball and defensively he's very aware of everything second and 10 from the 35 stillner back he's going to throw again that's got it's wide open catches the ball thrown out of bounds but not till he gets up close to the 50 we'll call it the 46 Ryan Turner yes it was Ryan one of the better players on the team I like his is game offensively and defensively Ryan Turner is uh he's second in tackles with 17 right he's a junior he'll be back next year Andrew sis leads their conference right with with 20.5 and there's a running play off the right tackle doesn't go anywhere he's bounced back and that's drive all the way out uh on Route 20 out to the West Main Road it's it's about a mile and a half west of the airport or the airport we don't have an airport we have a hospital though yes University Hospital oh easy to get to yeah it's about a mile and a half past uh hospital and that save a lot of food store in the plaza right there and you can go in there start saving some money right and you won't be disappointed no you won't I don't think they will anyway but that's uh you know stuff you got to think about these days you know and it reminds me too we didn't mention it yet but it's is the one nice thing even though the game's not going away it's nice to be back in the University Hospital Cony Medical Center broadcast Booth it is it is it's uh I we always try to make note of that every time that we're here and for Denise and her great staff here in town uh try to point that out we appreciate them sure do all they do for for the stadium here and for the cony and high school absolutely yeah it's always fun to do the games yes it is also we remind everyone too we're glad to have geris Pharmacy back with us here remember they've been helping answer your family's questions is and I don't know about where you guys live but there's all kinds of uh houses that are decorated already yeah I know with Halloween and I really I really enjoy looking at them some people are some people are crazy about Halloween they love it it's your favorite favorite what's your favorite holiday Christmas is it I had a friend though I a classmate he loved Halloween that was his favorite holiday Thanksgiving it is me too I like Thanksgiving thanksgiving's always been my favorite followed by a groundhog thing get out of here groundhog yeah yes sir that's exactly right but uh but they've got yeah so that's there always some great savings over there when you go over and when you go into save lot soon as you go in the door on the right hand side they have the Flyers there just with you oh it's great to be here as always you know those kind of things happened last week you know it was kind of ironic you you hit it really on the head talking about those guys that they weren't blacked in size but they had a lot of athletes absolutely very athletic kids a lot of quickness out there they were they were flying around you know they had they they weren't going to take us lightly um and uh they made some good plays when they need to make good plays you know if you go back and uh and watch the game and all that we covered on Wow TV what I saw there and I kind of commented on they kind of looked like fire ants or army ants or bees right right right right and and then I watched uh CV CV they did some interviews after the game last week that they had and uh also the game you know with us and they uh they commented that they had worked with Coach on swarming the ball especially on defense and that's exactly what it looked like absolutely they were like a swarming defense they did a good job of getting guys the ball and and and that kind of thing and you know and uh and I give them all the credit for that you know they had a good game plan going they they played well they played hard um I think ultimately we beat ourselves just lack of discipline and penalties and those kind of things so um I think you know if if you know we couldn't run three or four plays without a penalty and you can't win a game that way offensively so you're trying to you're you're expecting to put up big points and everything and then they did do well on defense um but if we didn't get any penalties we mov the ball pretty well and then all of a sudden penalty and then you know it's second and 25 uh instead of second and eight or second and three you know um and uh but they definitely we didn't run the the ball as well as we wanted to because they they were swarming the ball very well um but we just got to you know we learned from it I think that's that's the whole question did we learn from it but I think at halftime we had a good talk with our kids and then after the game um but I think they they got to learn if if things go wrong you can't lose your cool and I think you know the kids weren't happy with some of the calls early but it doesn't matter you got to keep playing and and uh they allowed that for them to you know go out and be undisciplined and make worse plays and so then the flags started flying and they were legit Flags you know know at that point you know cuz the kids were you know a little bit undisciplined and and I and and I take that and I tell them too like I'm just as much a fault as they are you know um cuz when bad things happen you got to learn how to control it and in week one when bad things happened we kept playing we kept cool we kept you know week two you know the kids wanted to blame the refs right out the gate and then they started playing worrying about that instead of playing football yeah and uh and you just got to let whatever happens happen you know we have no control over any call just keep playing and we didn't do that if we would have done that we' have won that game even though look you don't see it on the scoreboard 276 um but we knew they were going to score 20 yeah we knew they were going to score 18 you know we just we felt we could go score 40 right but we didn't we didn't play disciplin to do that and uh but credit to them cuz they did play hard and they did run around um so uh but I think I think definitely was a game where we beat ourselves and if we learn from that we're going to be just fine going forward if we don't learn from it it's going to be a long year yeah so uh you were right though number one or number five for the for the those guys were you the blue DS they were tough yeah quarterback's really good number 10 yeah uh and number five number one yeah tough kid got tough players well and youut you had this thing right too rock you talked about it you know you got a young Squad you're going to have those kind of problems it's almost like back to the drawing board in a lot of areas and you've had veteran squads before where they they've learned that you've taught that to them yes and you kind of have to go back to drawing board and uh you know you're getting them there it's just going to take work just like always right absolutely and that's it that's funny you said that cuz that's that's what we told them you know when uh there's only one way to get better and that's to work you know you get to work um you know you could you could complain and and make excuses you know I told them it's just like if a kid do not get as much playing time as they want right I'm unhappy about my playing time well I can either blame the coach yeah and still get less playing time or I can go to work get work and then find my way on the field somewhere same thing you lose a game you get either blame everybody else blame the coaches blame the rest blame the guy next to me and then nothing's going to get better yeah or I can we as a team could get to work and uh I feel like this week of practice we've gotten to work um so hopefully that translates to uh to to a good performance you know against birkshire yeah yeah it brings to birkshire too the the Badgers they look under roster look similar to Independence not a whole lot of size couple of big guys you know but a lot of smaller guys guys would they are they quick too they play a lot of speed or I mean they're one one along with us yeah yeah they got they got I think I think they're similar to us you know maybe maybe not the huge you know um but they got some they got enough big guys up front and uh they got a bigger roster than than uh Independence did and uh they they run a similar offense us actually do they it's very similar I mean they run exactly the same stuff we run they do get into like a power Run game deal for sometimes but their base when they come out start to game both games is just it's like we look like we're playing ourselves as far as the style oh no kidding you know yeah a lot of inside Zone Zone read counter power um they got a wing back a lot the kicks you know it's very similar offense and we do um Sprint pass those kind of things and uh they get into that stuff but yeah I mean they're they're a very talented team um I think they're very similar to us and in an ability you know they they Lo they actually they beat a very good kyoga Heights team um things went their way and then they lost bad to a very good Hawkin team so they played to two very good teams they're one- one you know so uh but I think our kids are going to be excited for the white out game and um home first game at home that's always exciting and I think you play a little bit better when you you got that kind of hype going so if we can keep our composure keep disciplined and play it's going to be a great game yeah I hope it's a little bit shorter I'm sure you guys do too as well cuz that was a long game uh this past Friday well when you end up throwing the ball like 30 some times s that happens right both teams threw the ball and I know we threw it a lot more than we wanted to so well and you show and you guys showed how how uh you know we're pretty tough out there we didn't really have anybody down on the field they had a lot of players down for extended time sometimes took up a lot of time off the clock absolutely absolutely they really did so yeah you know I thought Ryan played well in the second half Ryan Turner uh you know I mean some of the guys did they really turned it around and started started really trying uh you know when he gets out of hand that's what you look for right right absolutely Ryan had a great game you know it was a second game in a row with a block kick those little things like people don't notice yeah uh and I think he has 10 catches in two games which should be about 13 if wasn't for penalties you know 13 14 catches he just he's a special kid a captain and uh I think he end up with like six catches for 90 yards and all in the second half except for maybe one right uh but just he's he's a very good leader and a very good captain and uh and he's going to make plays and you know teams are going to start saying how do we stop their tight end you know um which just allows more opening for other people to get the ball so who was another another stand out we don't call their name very often was it Sabo yeah Sabo great heck of a you know sophomore undersized linebacker probably weighs 140 soaking wet oh no kid and uh he just flies to the ball yeah he played very well he's a that he flies to the ball um he had a really good game we're very proud of his performance uh you know so there there was some good things if you it's just we can't have those kind of penalties you know even if even if a couple we don't agree with that that's how that's football you don't agree with every car right you know you can't you can't let that compound into a bunch of you know unnecessary Flags so especially when that gets kind of compounded on top of uh a couple of touchdowns called back and you know it starts to pile up on him and yeah so you yeah you're you're the guy that can get these guys straighten down back on track I'm sure of that so I'm sure they realize that once they once they get past the game and cool down a little bit they they understand they've responded well this week so I just want to see it live you know what I mean I want to see them I so proud of week one and I was like okay well we two we didn't follow the same suit so let's let's learn from that and and move on cuz if you learn from it that win you games down the road you know so you know maybe we win that game and then we lose later because we're not disciplined so hopefully we so hopefully we cleaned up the discipline issue and we move on and uh good things to come yeah I I wasn't used to I don't know the last time I saw a team that played defense quite the way they did to so sometimes it's that that new look it presents a whole bunch of new problems right right right you really don't know don't know what to do about it they're swarming the ball I mean they were everywhere so you know like you up with the speed but coach I wish you all the best of luck we're going to have a great time Friday night weather's going to be nice it's rain is stopped and we're ready to go here as we are Ben was going to run out and he's going to try he's got another camera he was going to try that okay and see if that doesn't help at all by a poking that into the system and perhaps it just doesn't like Bob shackle camera anymore I mean I I understand that you know where'd Bob go well he's he's I saw him he's been in and out yeah I don't know I think he feels a little dejected too by his our system not accepting his camera yeah yeah so we're uh we're going to try something else here in the second half see if we can't make an adjustment on that it happens you know this stuff isn't as tough as what you'd hope it would be you know right right all these little pieces that we got and I I wish we could do without him but you do been able to redeem ourselves and some of our fans who like to come on and watch the Spartans uh it has worked that uh Ben jarvey is the one who continually stayed on it he kept working the the problem and he was able to uh by utilizing a different camera right was able to make the capture stick work so there's another running play and he's Off to the Races he's off to the down the sidelines him down and there wasn't anybody on that team that was in the vicinity that was able to do it too much speed he's got well over 200 yards of russing I would think yeah and that'll help him in his standings too I didn't add up what he has right now but he came in here with after week two with having uh having 246 yards rushing and again Isaiah is only a sophomore wow what a great run nice job kick kick for us I agree you decide who it's going to be or all come over here and try out come to practice field and try out with us cuz we've had some good ones haven't we yes we have through the
