49ers Kick Off New Season With Epic 53-man Roster Celebration!

all right the 49ers kick off their new season with their annual 53 man roster party there's some debates going on out there about the 49ers having this party after some tragic information uh so Mike are you ready to get down to the show because I want to get your takes and thoughts on this we about to fast forward to the 8 Minute Mark but yes I'm ready let's do it oh wait I meant to say you bam more and then I get the chance to talk to my brother Wayne Breezy about the team that I love even more than this team the San Francisco 49ers man it's a beautiful day it's a beautiful day in the we got some news injuries updates all that good stuff uh 49ers wide receiver Ricky pel had pel has been placed on the reserve nonf football injury list all right that's the NFI Mike um that's some boo that's some boo he was out doing a signing that that was a work-related incident as far as I'm concerned it's not a work-related incident because it has nothing to do with the football team har say it's not a football event where it's work rated but I get what you're saying but it's not it's a it's a it's an optional recreational type of thing that has nothing organized by the team I think that's what it means when it comes to work rated I think if if I'm him and my pay is different as in less than if it was a football injury I am I'm protesting this and I'm finding a way you could protest it but it's not work rated that's what I'm trying to get you to say he's not obligated to he's not obligated to do the signing it's not in his contract you got to go sign stuff you're not not with the team is what I'm saying okay I I could be wrong because I think that's what pup and NFI like they that it has to be cuz you said work related and I love that term usually we just say football oh no no no I was very specific with my word choosing yeah now that was a work rated incident I don't you can slice it however you it didn't happen on the field in practice or in game but that is a work rated it's like the guy um the what's the player that we lost for the year when he he stood up in the locker room that was a work-related incident he wasn't on the field he wasn't practicing yeah but it was it was the locker room he was on the football camp facility yeah you thinking about where it happens Ian I think the semantics is it could be where when we got to put them who what when where wise how's right I just don't I think doing something I think if it was a setup by the team signing it would be work rated we don't know that it wasn't okay usually those signings aren't but you're right yeah right but yeah so he so what does this mean how long is he going to be out what expect it's the same as the it's the same as the pup four weeks so week five he'll be eligible to return boy the 49ers how how honest are we be right now like we I I think this is supposed to be the honest show uh if I'm not mistaken like like we show was supposed to be the show this was their goal all along right like they didn't want him to play anytime soon the ners were trying to figure out a way and reason to put him on some sort of list that kept him out the first couple of weeks of the season I feel like that was obvious and evident to everybody watching right like he's been in a blue no non-c cont Jersey since he was born as a 49er like since day one they wanted to find a reason to put him on some sort of list I feel like they this is this is not what they were looking for and I don't think that they're happy about this let me be clear what I'm saying I don't think anybody wanted this to happen to him but I felt like they were going to find a reason or a way to put him on the inactive list for the first four plus weeks of the Season he's not ready yet we even talked about when he returned to practice he was still in the blue non- contct jersey so in essence what is a receiver doing if he's a full participant at practice but can't be touched he's just running remember that was my response you like what's he doing I said running I remember I remember I I just what happened was unfortunate and not planned or anything like that so I don't want people to get the idea that we're saying oh the Niners set this up no no no no you don't know because would you what I know is somebody will figure out a way to say Breezy said that the Niners set up Ricky Piel so that they could find a way to put him on this list the Niners could have easily put him on the IR if he wasn't able to go it would have took up a it would have took up a IR spot but you know they could have found a way but let's just say I don't think that the Niners were looking to put him on this list I do not believe that the Niners were looking to put him on the pup or any type of list to keep him out other than the IR I think that was the option and I think they were really going to wait to the very last freaking second um whether it was week one before week two just to see if he was progressing with the injury so they were going to slowly Vamp them on because remember that stupid IR bring this bring them back you can only bring a player back twice like you got to be very strategic with the IR rule so I I think what happened was was terrible it was tragic it was stupid it was whatever you want to call it but it happened and it just the the business side of everything is that the Niners still have to continue to move forward for the te what's best for the team and because this wasn't a work related event or a event an event that took place in playing football or practicing um they were able to use the language of this particular Rule and list and place some on this which gives the ners four weeks to reevaluate I do have a question about the pup and the NFI because I'm I'm a little unclear you might know it so does if you go on pup right after the fifth week the ners can make you eligible to return to the roster right but my question is say if you go you said if you go on the pup what if you're on the pup or if you're on the NFI you have to do a minimum of four weeks right and then that week five the ners can determine if you're eligible to return to the to and take up a roster spot right for my understanding yes yeah weeks but my question is if they don't feel like you're eligible eligible to return do you stay on the pup or do they have to put you on the IR like does the p imagine expire I think that's my question yeah I I think the pup is like a temp it's uh all right so check this out uh my new role I'm in management things like that I had a guy who had a nonwork rated incident he was actually playing flag football he popped his ACL um his short-term disability expired um two months ago right but because that expired he technically became active where I could review him and I called him and said hey it's time for you to come back to work he said no my doctor's appointment was yesterday and they said I'm going on L uh long-term disability so his short-term disability expired the following day he was put on long-term disability but I did have to review his status as a supervisor and then put him on long term so I think once the pup expires and the team reevaluates and then they put him on IR I think that's I think that's how it happens that that sounds kind of dope so pup NFI short-term DL disability IR longer term disability longm yes sir yep that's that's how I interpreting it and if we're wrong we'll look it up but we ain't trying to look it up right now all right yourself not now not now I like I like your term Rock oh yeah oh you know yeah sorry um wait what does Manley says oh he says I have to try to classify himself on every statement he makes or someone else makes on his shows I do what did I do but you have to what man try to classify myself I think I have to explain myself basically in order for people to to not take what I say and twist it up I think that's what he's saying like you know I mean you you do go out of your way but it's not it don't matter man like the people who want so the what I've learned is there is a a segment of people for every group of podcast producers oh clarify is what he meant did I say classify they just they just they say if they don't wait if they don't like what you're doing they're just going to look for ways to say something negative about you like just look for it so it's okay like it's you know we we do our best to try to dispel it before it gets there we know when we say something that might be taken out of context or Twisted the wrong way because I had a had the biggest brain fart uh on Bleacher Report live because I know you and I were going back and forth and I want to if you're right I want to give you your your your Kudos because I can't remember cuz I'm having a brain fart there were two offensive linemen that I we we felt were going to make this roster one was mine one was yours who who did I have did I have Brandon Parker and you had the other guy and if you had the other guy who the is the other guy I had hubard you had Hub so I had Parker I got Mr Parker Mr Parker was signed to a one-year deal but I could not remember Chris Herbert's name on that live show oh well sorry charge it to the game um but the Niners did sign so I I got to ask this question because they also released gutieres right and and then they brought Parker to the regular active roster if that's what I'm getting from the reports now here's my thing this is sign saying Trent Williams isn't coming back right now right that's how you interpreted this move that's how I'm interpreting this move yeah I think that um I think that the 25th hour came for Kyle and Trent Kyle made happen already I listen to me Kyle made the call and Trent said yeah big homie you got y'all got me like that last time if I if I break anything in my big age I have no security for my daughters I plan on playing for two or three more years but I need to know that if something happens I am taken care of if y'all want me to walk out there like this this ain't about you this ain't about me this is about my family I'm not coming back right now so y'all got to work these numbers the way y'all can uh and I am prepared to sit out and chill uh and there was an actual report that came out that said uh I believe it was Mike garolo if I'm not mistaken came out uh today or yesterday saying that Trent Williams is ready to dig his heels in and he will possibly Miss time if the Niners don't figure out a deal now here's what I do like about that report it didn't say that he's requesting a trade it's not saying he wants to go anywhere else he wants to be here all right uh this is not about Trent Williams trying to you know hold the team hostage or say well find simy somewhere else no I want to play football this year I want to be a 49er this year I just want guaranteed money I need to know that my family security is uh is is is being thought of here so um this is I saw that report and then you see the signing of I believe it was Parker is the one that got sign it wasn't Hub your guy got signed Parker yeah Brandon Parker correct yeah um and so they went and got that's he's a veteran he's not some new you know exactly exctly you know this is the guy that's been around a little bit got some some significant snaps in some significant game started and all that so this is a veteran and this is like you said this might be that look where it's like hey and this guy plays left and right remember that the Niners tried him on the opposite side this preseason because he played the other side so well um this was Chris forester's design so they got somebody in here and they looking at it as hey if if Trent comes back great we would love to have him back but if not we have a security blanket in Parker that's where we are I I'm I'm Brandon Parker should just start at the left tackle spot all right so o Omar 602 ners says longterm if Trent doesn't come back is there any free agent tackles to look at or is everything in house um what are your thoughts on that I think davidi is available so is it is it Lio Collins one of those old heads that got a deal like three or four years ago is out there I believe it was Collins I believe lyo Collins just recently got cut I I'll check free agent offensive lineman uh so while while I'm doing that you can continue to talk and there's a couple of guys and you know this is one thing that we have to keep in mind I think that the ners would rather have a young guy that can be molded Chris Forester gets his hands on these guys and he makes something out of nothing this is his specialty Chris Forester is the most underrated uh position coach on this entire 49ers team you know you guys you got guys like Bobby Turner who are heralded at their spot and highly respected right can't be underrated you got guys like Chris koser highly respected and heralded can't be underrated right but then you got Chris Forester and the joke is he's he's a Miami guy that likes Coke and prostitutes you know like that that's the joke amongst League circles right but he does an amazing job with whoever and whatever the talent is that he is given so um I absolutely love uh I love that Chris Forester is uh you know GNA be able to take his choice and get whoever it is that he's looking for so that's what I feel I mean I mean like there's some guys available I mean there's some veterans that are available that are under the age of 36 that the Niners could go out and get uh I know David Bak tiari from Green Bay is available he's been in the league for 10 years I slightly disagree with you um but I agree with the part that you said that they like to get offensive linemen that they can develop but not left tackles so I think they go and get a left tackle now uh DJ humph from Arizona would be cheaper you know it's crazy like I think this is part of where Trent Williams is going to look cuz if you look at any of these guys like you know there's a possibility that they can just go out and not pay Trent to guarantees but why add more money to the roster like that doesn't make any sense right cuz I mean they'll they'll be able to find Trent Williams take away his money maybe to pay another guy so David bakari DJ humph if they want to go old I mean Dwayne Brown is still available uh he's just old and but it's for one year so I like I I don't know but and and then get the guy in there to develop but I I think if the ners are looking for Super Bowl window they need to go out there and get a book and left tackle if Trent Williams isn't going to play or if they're not going to give that man his guarantees that position is to me the most important position you could say the quarterback is most important position but I think a quarterback is only as good as his left tackle and so cuz that cuz when you trust that left side you ain't got to worry about that left side just makes you that much more better like in my opinion when you got to be looking at your left side cuz you got hit a certain and it could not be true you're 100% correct when you're right when you're right-handed quarterback in my opinion you want somebody that you know that you can trust to protect your Blind Side if you're a left-handed quarterback it's the opposite way right Brock py was put out of commission from his right side bro like it's it listen a quarterback is only as good as the extension of the talent around him um now it's his job to create opportunities for the talent around him at the at the skill positions but the people up front or the people up front I don't care if you're Aaron Rogers I don't care if you're Tom Brady I don't care if you're Brock pie I don't care if you're jamus Winston um if the if the line isn't protecting for you you cannot create opportunities and windows for your for your skill position players um and so I do agree with you that they're only as good as but I'm not going to just say the left tack I'm gonna say the line if you got a center that that's a a Turn Style every time he snaps the ball he's no good to you bro they're going to have a defensive tackle feasting on you they're going to double double penetrate that that a gap you know what I'm saying like that the teams opposing teams what to do I I do I do know what you're saying but you're missing what I'm saying so it's like if you're if you're not if your Blind Side is protected then you're not thinking about what's coming in from your left side because you're just not you you're you know you're confident that I can focus here and here or whatever Brock got hit not just because the offensive line Brock got injured or put out of commission because the tight end who's the extended block on that play didn't make the block unfortunately Brock was looking Brock was on the right side and block was block Brock was looking dead at him so all Brock had to do was step up in the pocket I go with inexperience on Brock there because I think now he knows oh shoot I can't protect I'm look my right side not as strong as my left side so let me let me pay attention a little bit more to my right side I just I just think you're right it's the the offensive line as itself and the extensions have to block as a whole it's a crazy Echo right now oh [ __ ] you I'm sorry I had my hand CED over my microphone and so like I was holding the phone like this so audio was coming out is where the my bad you should have so be over now the echo's still there all of a sudden okay I think it went away all right so yeah so so that's that's what I'm that's what I'm alluding to so like my my point is when you got a guy like Trent Williams Brock is confident that that side is going to be blocked which will allow him to focus more straight and he could probably he's looking right here so like I think to me Brock's awareness needed to get better and after that injury I believe it made his awareness a little bit better I'm not saying that there's no pressure from the left side I think he's just extra confident when he has a guy like Trent Williams yeah I one I saw the comment in there from John Paul asking if NBN did a video on the peol signing I want to make something very clear I will not try to profit off of a potential tragedy uh from an individual player now with that said I did do a show last night that was on our channel on nothing but ners uh and it had uh myself Zach started the episode then uh Matt joined later on from 49ers Hive and I let I let it be known exactly how I felt on the uh Ricky Pier so I'm not a guy that's going to make a post about something like that I'm not going to Tweet much about something like that that and I'm D damn sure not doing a breaking news video about something like that and you know anybody out there who did do it that's on them that's that's their prerogative that's their business line and all that not me um that wasn't something that I'm gonna I'm G to go out there and do so uh if you guys are looking for my take and my my opinion on it please go back and watch the the episode from last night on nothing but ners or 49ers Hive we we did do a du streak all right let's get to the gist of the show because speaking of that the 49ers had their annual 53 man roster event uh and there was a party going on you saw the picture circulate the internet Rick Ross the Boss KY Shanahan in in in the Suave suit um let's talk about this because what the hell why my teeth look so crazy I look at the white in my hoodie I mean my what's happening right now my teeth don't never look like this I'm Sor I'm sorry there is an echo though it is driving me nut okay so uh uh I was asking you what's good like how you feel about the 49ers um having this particular uh event um after uh the news about Ricky pcel being shot um and things like that there are a lot of takes going on out there a lot of stuff was written a lot of stuff was said uh but I'm just curious to know like should the 49ers have postponed their 53 man roster event I'm black and so my opinion might be different than someone else who's not black that [ __ ] I won't even blame it on black or white um the way my family was brought up the way that we were raised uh at this very very moment and I'm not exaggerating at all I'm sitting outside of the window of my uh grandmother who we are waiting for and expecting to transition at any moment now quite literally any moment and uh with that being said we are on her property and we are having a celebration today right now in this very moment now before we went live I I showed Wayne around it looks like we're having a family reunion out here there's four or five grills that are lit we've got bounce houses we've got tents there's cornhole there's drinks there's food Galore I mean there there's cars all over the property right now and if if Wayne wants and permits I'll even give youall a little view I'll mute my microphone and just walk around and just show y'all real quick a quick glimpse of what we're doing um my my point is this tragedy does not mean mourning doesn't doesn't mean suffering it doesn't mean pain all the time uh sometimes in the midst of a little bit of a shakeup you can celebrate sometimes in the midst of uh anticipated loss you can still celebrate what was what is you know uh what what You' learned from it and all that and I think that because Ricky Piera situation wasn't trag tragic because he didn't lose his life there's absolutely reason to celebrate and for the team to go on and continue with their 53 man celebration and I can almost guarantee you that the team honored Ricky Piera at some point during that ceremony I can almost guarantee you that they held the cheers or hel raised a glass to him or said something about him and spotlighted him and the situation and overcoming in that ceremony to cancel that ceremony would be shortsighted and I can I don't know Ricky Piera at all I know nothing about this young man I can almost guarantee you that if they put a microphone in front of him and said hey what do you want the team to do he would say rock out with your [ __ ] out okay I don't there's nothing about that young man that I feel would say oh man this happened to me and I want everybody to stop what they're doing and pay attention to me no I don't I don't think that at all I watched a video of him walking to the stretcher and the last thing he seemed to be worried about was what the team was doing in that moment I don't want the team to stop in that moment am I okay am I good okay y'all sure I'm good okay medical assistance is here all right and now I'm ready to go ahead and get back to business not saying that he's ready to play football or anything like that I don't think he was worried about people stopping what they were doing I don't think he wants to ruin anyone else's good time so no I don't think that the 49ers should have canceled their event I don't think they should have stopped it at all I think that what we saw is what we saw and that's what we're going to get from him that's I think that's the kind of person he is I mean I I I couldn't agree you know you know anymore like I mean that's pretty much spot on I mean you got a lot of people putting up stuff like like it was the wrong thing to do um and I'm just trying to figure out like how how was it the wrong thing to do like like that that's what I'm trying to find like the justification in like how was that the wrong thing to do um it didn't make any sense I want to read what uh Mr con wrote uh if you don't mind can I can before you read this is he the only person that had a problem with this like are we all responding to what the what the what the what the choices and words of one man was whether we respond to it or not I mean it needs to be responded to right there shouldn't have been a problem with it period that's that's my point so if he's the only person that said anything then he the only I'm not sure I can't you know what Mike I don't know this is what I found though that I hope that answers your question this is what I found so um there should have been no party Shanahan should not have been wearing a white suit which made him look like a Carnival Barker so he took a shot at what the what the what him having the weird had to do anyway this is my point this is my whole thing on this he should not have been carrying a cane and posing for videos and grinning like a [ __ ] he should have been a leading he should have been leading a a vigil for his Fallen comrade for all the 49ers Fallen comrade the team should have made a somber video and sent it to Pio a video in which they attested they would not Party Like It's 1999 not until he is well I accused Kyle Shanahan of being stupid the team should have gathered at Shanahan's house and told stories of Ricky Pio of what he means to them Shanahan should have given a speech from the heart on the nature of his team how his team is family how he's the father Shanahan would not have partied if his child if a child of his got shot same should have gone for Ricky all right Mike you back on the mic this story has clown juice dripping all over it yo first of all you don't hold a vigil for somebody who didn't fall like stop it he got to chill like he don't know he don't know what he's talking about Wayne go ahead I gotta I gotta get this car real quick I at at the end of the day the ners had an annual event um and I I I truly believe that the ners probably asked the family you know we we we'll cancel the I bet like I bet the ners was like hey we'll cancel the event in leave of what's going on with um Ricky and we'll be here with Ricky and I believe that the family of Ricky Pi I don't know but this is what I believe I believe that the peol family said no continue to to celebrate life he's alive he will be well and continue to celebrate life and so Debo tweeted out he's going to be okay some people knew that he was going to be okay before everybody else didn't you know knew anything and so like I feel like the event was could have been an event in honor we don't know what they did because they didn't put anything out Rick Ross actually posted those pictures the team if I'm not mistaken was instructed not to post any videos not to post any pictures or anything in Li of anything at that point and so that's why you didn't see anything released from the team but these were actually released from Rick Ross's account but I believe he was given the green light to do so or whatever so at the end of the day I don't see anything wrong with having the event especially if they had details that no one else had let me let's let's let's play devil's advocate here okay this is a guy who hasn't been able to practice he's been in non-c cont jerseys what stories did did did LEL Cohen want the 49er players to share about the new incoming rookie Ricky peol I saw his highlight film from college I saw his combine metrics what Stories the kid hasn't done anything they don't know him they don't know him what is he talking about this is a bitter guy trying to get God man like this stuff it it annoys me to no end all this negative like it's just the constant need to be freaking negative it it just doesn't make any sense to me you'd rather a team be he he's literally asking us to be in mourning instead of celebrating my man didn't we morning there was no death that's what I'm saying he didn't die he did overcome he will be playing in the NFL at some point and you want us to be mourning and holding a vigil do you know what a vigil is yes we not lighting candles and and saying hail marage we not putting him on gildings we're not putting him on t-shirts talking about that's my point like he's alive like the whole context of everything you said first of all he took a shot at what K Shanahan is wearing what the does that have to do with anything what what he could have been wearing a birthday suit for all I care but what did that what does it have to do with anything how do you start off saying they shouldn't have did this and and for because of Ricky Piel and then you're going to sit there and talk about what the head coach was wearing he looks like a whatever whatever whatever like at the end of the day like bro and I get you I think I get what you were trying to say by by by responding to this which I didn't respond to but I'm talking about it by respond to were kind of like giving him power or whatever right but at the end of the day it it needs to be discussed I don't know who G to watch this and who's going to be like you know what the muus is right like the [ __ ] got to stop it got to stop being a clown show instead of a cone show it's a a clone show like it's definitely clowning like at the end of the day like that stuff has to stop and it's just there was no you could say what you want say how you feel express it but there's still a way and to do it Tastefully we're talking about a person that was shot and then you're talking about mourning a person who's alive it made zero sense zero sense I don't know I stuff like this just makes me angry because it gets the it gets the it just makes me angry it just makes me angry but the good news you know what the good news is the good news is Ricky pel's home the good news is he didn't require any surgery the good news is it was a through and through right the good news is he's got placed on a on a on a on a list to where he can recoup and recover um at his time Pace or whatever that these are all positives for me and you know what I guarantee you this little bit of Aver that Ricky Pier was going through I guarantee you is only going to make him stronger it's only going to make him stronger so maybe this helps maybe this changes his mentality outlook on life he's going to attack it differently obviously uh because he went through this particular type of adversity but at the end of the day I think the only thing that should have mattered in this whole situation not worrying about the guys partying not worrying about what they were like none of that should matter the only thing that should have mattered is the health and the life of Ricky Piel that's the only thing that should have matter it shouldn't matter what content creators post it shouldn't matter if who's breaking the news it shouldn't none of that [ __ ] should matter at the end of the day the only thing that should matter is prayers for him and his family so he can pull through that's the only thing that should matter and I mean that [ __ ] with all my heart I'm talking to whoever needs to hear that that's the only thing
