And Greg, we were talking about this. You said you have not cooked out as much and grilled as much as you normally do. Only once I've been able to get the grill out. So, you know, have you been eating a lot of barbecue or what? Ordering out, order it out is what we've been doing. So I might have to break the grill out, but I'll have to dodge some rain to, to deal with it. How much are we? We're not looking to wash out. Are we? It's not, not gonna be a wash. Yeah, we'll have some showers and storms. Right. If you do plan on getting that grill out, doing a little backyard entertaining, perhaps over the weekend, just plan accordingly. Make sure you have some, uh, plans the indoors that back up. Plan B for you. You might need to dodge some showers and storms from time to time. But no, it won't be a, be a wash out across the area, taking you out to DB U one more time. 89 degrees feels like it's 94. So it's a little more humid out there for us here late this morning as we head toward midday starting to see a few more clouds puff up across the area. We'll see a few more as we head toward midday. And after, and eventually we'll see some isolated to scattered showers and storms. Around 88 downtown Dallas feels like it's 93 there right now. So we're back into the upper eighties, close to 90 degrees in most locations, even back up to 91 heading over to Greenville Sulfur Springs at 90 but only in the low eighties out toward Athens, even the seventies for Palestine, that's where we've seen the ongoing showers and storms. So rain cooled air there in those locations. That's gonna keep the daytime highs only in the eighties. But we're gonna get pretty steamy here. We'll still in the mid, maybe even a few spots topping out in the upper nineties here later today. Look at that record high though, 106, not that long ago, back in 2020. So it can still be hot this time of year. So we're catching a break from the, uh, triple digit heat over the next several days and the coverage with the showers and storms today still going to be limited as we will only be about 20% back toward the metroplex and a little bit higher in our southeastern counties. We'll be having seen those showers and storms here this morning. Now, we do need the rain, especially out toward north and west. I do wanna show you the updated, uh, drought monitor there and we're starting to see that severe drought pop up out toward a buoy indicator over the far western parts of North Texas that moderate to severe drought. So we do need the rain and our northwestern counties will have a little bit better chance for the showers and storms heading into tomorrow. Now, today, still kind of isolated mainly south and east of Dallas and Fort Worth through the late afternoon and early evening that will activity will dissipate as we get into this evening. And then for tomorrow, we've been talking about that weak front that's gonna work its way into the area as it does. We will see a few more showers and storms in our northwestern counties. Nothing real widespread, nothing heavy, nothing strong or severe expected, but there could be some pockets of some heavier downpours, especially in our southeastern counties. Maybe some gusty winds associated with that activity as well as we get into Friday evening. Still, maybe some showers and storms ongoing even into the late evening hours on Friday. Now, the coverage with the rain and storms does increase quite a bit as we get into the weekend. So it still gonna be kind of slight around DFW today, but about a 50 to 60% coverage with those showers and storms as we get into the weekend there, Saturday, Sunday and on Labor Day, Monday. So again, that will impact some outdoor plans as we go through the afternoon and evening hours, especially when we'll have the best chance for the showers and storms as we go through the holiday weekend. Now, as we look at our satellite and radar composite, you see the ongoing batch of showers and storms in our clipping our southeastern counties. Right now, the bulk of that though, out into the Gulf of Mexico, we'll have the front though, approaching from the west and that will bring us a better chance for the showers and storms over the next few days, daytime highs. If you're traveling today, heading down to Austin, San Antonio, lower nineties, low eighties though, heading over toward Houston, but you'll definitely have to deal with some rain there today. So there's the front as it works its way across the area, those northeast winds will help shave a few more degrees off the temperatures that combined with the cloud cover, the chance for rain hanging around through the weekend. We'll keep those temperatures in check. So we gonna be going in the right direction there. So nothing even close to triple digits to deal with. In fact, we're probably not gonna be getting out of the eighties in many locations here as we get into Sunday and Monday. So you see over the next five days including Labor Day high, only around 88. And you can see that extended forecast gonna keep those temperatures in the eighties through the middle of next week and then as those rain, chances do dry up, pro probably, probably by next Wednesday those temperatures ease back up into the lower nineties later next week. All right, Kara, back to you.
