generational talent but I think also for any young player and young kids watching just the to see the transformation do you remember that wiy kid that signed for Man United that was rolling all over the place and now we've got this bloke proper specimen of an athlete that's 900 goals what's he now 38 39 39 yeah 39 and he's doesn't look like he's slowing down not not 40 until the first part of next year when you first saw him burst on the scene what how did you describe him uh as a show Pony famously um I rang a national Radio phone in I remember it United lost at wol I think it was Kenny Miller scored the goal at molu and I was fuming not just with Ronaldo In fairness jber jber and Bell on uh also got the uh got the wrath of me but uh yeah I made a mistake with Ronaldo but but Troy's right when he first came on the scene he he was doing all those tricks wasn't he he was very skinny he was going down under every tackle and I think his credit to his teammates people like Roy Kean he would have had around him at the time that quickly made him adapt to the riggers of English football and you look at him now I mean Troy's right he's an absolute superhuman and I would be surprised if come the World Cup in two years time when he' be what 41 if he's not there I think he'll be very much part of the he he's going for a th goals isn't he now I mean he's now be he'll be laser focused on how mental is that talking how how does he get there he's going to have to go to a league where he can score a lot of goals isn't he you know regularly so so what's the league that he can Target where he could he can pick up 50 goals a season um he's he's still doing it now I just think he's he's so good while he slows down the brain doesn't slow down so when you see the positions that he gets himself into and he's he's smart enough now to he doesn't have to go and do it all on his own I think there's an element of his ego where he still wants to do that but he he's still he's still Ronaldo he's still so bloody good and it's it's one of those as as a player now at 36 and I'm like knocking it on the Ed and you're looking at him going oh my God I must have wasted some years I had a good than team records but if that if that's what drives him then his teammates get the benefit of it you say that but if you go back to the European championship in 2016 he didn't really play much in that final because he came off injured really early but he was so delighted he was so happy about winning that it meant a lot to him and interestingly in the Euros I think we sort of discussed the fact that maybe too many countries were pandering to to Big egos but if you looked at that that that team that Portugal team when he missed you know when he was crying his eyes out because he missed the penalty or whatever nobody else gets frustrated in that team with him because I think they look at him and they think you've got us to positions that maybe we wouldn't have got to without you so there's a lot of respect for him I think absolutely and I think he's also he's not one of those older players that's trying to hold back a Le or someone like that saying want to play on the left he has to play somewhere else he's been adaptable and moved but I I think when you talk about his motivation as well I think he's been very fortunate in the sense of having Messi there as well two greats that they've both been able to push each other and not many people get that especially in the Premier League they normally move on don't they and I think um there's not enough words to say just how
