Rexall refuses to come clean regarding manager who coerced staff into wearing Pride clothing

[Music] David men for Rebel news here in Miss Saga Ontario and folks we are at doing that inside oh why is that you're not supposed to be doing that you're the media we're not accepting you in here so okay can you please get the media relations person sir sir can you turn the camera off please you cannot be shooting in here sir why why is that we're doing a report but you said call security call security so you want us to leave then all right all right well before I was so rudely interrupted folks no one is talking to us here at Rexel or their parent company so we'll go outside and uh do our report there folks I'm outside the head office for the Rexall pharmacy group and it's really to follow up on a story that we published earlier this month and namely it was about how rexl employees at the reol pharmacy in Brighton Ontario were being coerced by the manager there for one week to wear rainbow Pride themed clothing and many of them did not want to do this but the manager Cindy Wilson she allegedly told her employees the following quote you do not have to agree with pride but you must show support for Pride end quote and so the question arises have we gone from compelled speech to compelled clothing now I did reach out to Miss Wilson about a couple of weeks ago uh it was a very brief telephone interview indeed here check it out good afternoon Cindy speaking oh hi there Cindy um yes good afternoon my name is uh David men calling from Rebel news in Toronto and the Reas the reason for my call I'm working on a story I was in contact with employees of your Pharmacy who were alleging that you were um coercing them to we rainbow uh colored apparel I I I guess ostensibly for Pride week and I just wanted you know in the interest of fair comment to get your side of the story on that okay no comment thank you bye now moving on I did Reach Out to rexal that's the corporate headquarters there they have the most bizarre media relations strategy namely um they don't relate to the media well talk to us or um like I said welcome to book and appointment okay if you sent me an email to GTA campus facility on m.ca I will connect that with um the reaw person and reaw Communications we'll get back to you not comment I've been trying for weeks sir so I can give you can you call the rexl people and tell them we're here so again because you don't have meeting scheduled they won't respond to emails or phone calls in any event I'll tell you which questions I asked number one is this clothing Mandate of Rexall employees being forced to wear multicolored apparel a Rexall corporate initiative two do individual rexal store managers have the power to order their employees to wear apparel that support political SL ideological causes and three according to my sources Cindy went out of her way today Friday June 21st to tell employees not to wear multicolored apparel this was supposedly due to rexa representatives from head office visiting the Brighton store if this allegation is indeed true can I assume that Cindy's apparel demands prior to Friday were not in compliance with Rexall head office policy and as I said before folks crickets now hi there how you doing ma'am I'm so sorry to inform you that uh no uh don't record me I don't oh no you came to us so what do you have to say no I I just want to say that you can't record this so this is private property uh no this is a sidewalk ma yeah but you can't take theot footage of that property right we can't take that footage from a sidewalk uh no uh you're incorrect are you a security guard yeah can I see your license please yeah I have uh inside my resis okay then so you're going to have to go away now because unless you show a license you could be anyone so have a nice day anyways folks as you can see this security guard is trying to shoe his away from a public sidewalk um again not in accordance with the law she has not shown us her security license um these people I think really want to I don't know make this like that season of Dallas that never happened Bobby never died I.E this store never compelled their employees to wear multicolored Pride apparel now the thing is since our story was published guess what happened rexl head office allegedly sent out notific to the employees papers to sign basically it was a non-disclosure agreement I.E if the media ever gets in contact with them they are forbidden to speak and tell that media person to well you guessed it reach out to media relations and again this is a department that does not relate to the media in fact they won't even give the name of the person who heads up media relations by the way folks I should point out that none of the employees broke that non-disclosure agreement this information was conveyed to as by a third party so I imagine Rexall security is on the case right now to find out who that whistleblower is but here's another element of this story talk about the Barbara strend effect if somebody went on camera with us weeks ago when we reached out by uh phone and email well we don't have a follow-up story instead this ridiculous story of compelled clothing continues to Fester I'll tell you one thing I sure wouldn't want to be Cindy Wilson right now the habid daser Hun who was making all these mandates several weeks ago it's incredible isn't it folks from compelled speech to compelled clothing and no response from head office regarding one manager trying to coers her employees into wearing an ideological statement on their t-shirts well you know what folks
