The HARSH TRUTH About Texas A&M Football for 2021?

Intro texas a m football has been close to reaching national title status but they have not had a claimed national title since 1939. they've had some really fun players over the last few years such as johnny manziel kellen monde and miles garrett but the changing of power from kevin sumlin the jimbo fisher has helped put the aggies in a spot where they could potentially make the playoff jimbo was a game changer for the a m program and last year they were just one spot away from making the college football playoff some argue that they should have gotten in over notre dame but it didn't happen they had to settle for north carolina instead looking ahead towards 2021 the texas a m aggies are a legitimate college football playoff contender have a ton of talent and this could be their best team in a long time in today's video we're going to preview the aggies go through their roster and their depth chart some of the major storylines and then predict their schedule and talk about the truth about the team but right before we get into that we are on the road to 100 000 subscribers and nearly 80 percent of you guys are not subscribed so be sure to hit that button as i really appreciate it and you want to miss out on any more college football content now let's get started and talk about texas a m football Overview like we always do before we preview the schedule in the roster let's take a quick glance back to 2020 and see how the aggies did last year in the third year under jimbo fisher they were predicted to be fourth in the division but they ended up turning some heads they opened up the season ranked number 10 in the country where they barely held on to beat vanderbilt which was a very surprising game from there they lost 52-24 to alabama and no one thought anything of this team at this point but number four florida and kyle trask came to town and in one of the most packed stadiums of the 2020 season the aggies kicked a game-winning field goal and changed the narrative pretty quickly from there they beat mississippi state took care of arkansas destroyed south carolina beat lsu comfortably and one on the road against auburn and they were sitting at 7-1 the game against ole miss was cancelled so their final game of the regular season would come on the road against tennessee where they won 34-13 they finished ranked number five in the polls and this was not good enough to get them into the playoff as notre dame was picked instead instead they had to settle for north carolina and the orange bowl where they won 41-27 some say that the aggies deserved to get into the playoff i'm not really sure because they did get their shot at bama and they didn't prove it now let's take a look at that roster though looking at the a m 2021 recruiting class it was ranked number eight in the country and fourth in the conference and it was headlined by five star recruit shamar turner the aggies were not overly busy in the transfer portal as they only gained one guy and offensive lineman jamir johnson from tennessee kellen modd was one of the best quarterbacks in school history and molly never really won any of those major games or really set the world on fire he would go down as an aggie great but now it is time for the next quarterback to take his spot so who are the options at this point most likely haynes king is going to be the starter as he was a big time recruit in the 2020 class and saw a couple snaps last year as the backup hanes king has unlimited potential and i really do think he's going to be a star in this league but he's got to make sure he beats out upperclassmen zach calzada who will more than likely be the backup from there you'll have true freshman eli stowers but if we get to him then texas a m has some problems they have conor weigman and eli holstein signed in their next two classes so the future at the quarterback position is looking really good for a m but right now we need to see haynes king step up as he is literally the key to this season a m is arguably the best returning running back room in the sec as they're headlined by what some say is the best running back in college football in isaiah spiller well i don't think he is the best running back in college football he is a star and he is going to be a big key for this year behind him you have a big time player in devon akane i hope i said his name right he could probably start at most of their power five schools and he is seen as a big time nfl draft prospect those two guys will be a one-two punch for this offense and should give a break to haines king until he can figure it all out after that you have a couple talented guys but most people presume that true freshman lj johnson will be the third dude the receiving game has some talent as the best wide receiver on the roster in my opinion will be chase lane who will be a redshirt sophomore his backup will be hezekiah jones at that spot and at the other wide receiver positions you'll have damon dimas who is a former five star and caleb chapman who is recovering from an acl injury the final starting spot will be ianna smith who is an all-around weapon who can play both running back and wide receiver and i think he's sort of a jitterbug who could do a little bit of everything and finally you'll have jalen preston i think all six of those guys will make an impact and don't forget a guy who was one of the best names in college football in moose muhammad the third at tight end i love both of these players as they return in my opinion the best tight end in the sec and jalen weidermeier who will also likely be a first round pick and he'll be a huge target for hanes king his backup will be baylor cup who's another big time recruit in that 2020 class who will make an impact in the future and be a solid second option when you go to the offensive line you're more than likely to see kenyon green start at left tackle aki ogunbai at left guard luke matthews at the center spot laid in robinson at the right guard spot and finally at right tackle blake traynor and i also do believe tennessee transferred jamir johnson will play as well moving over to the defensive side of the ball on the defensive line you're gonna see guys like michael clemons tyree johnson don l harris michael clemson and fidel diggs with the big superstar being demarvin lille who is seen as a top 10 pick in some people's eyes at the nose tackle spot you're gonna see mckinley jackson and isaiah rakes and then jayden peavy and ardarius jones will also play as well when you look at the linebacker spots you're gonna see andrew white jr antonio doyle chris russell aaron hansford and edgar and cooper all play at the cornerback spots you're gonna have jalen jones to queue harmon miles jones and brian george and finally at those safety spots you could have leon o'neal keldrick carper damani richardson and brian williams the final spot we need to talk about is that nickel and more than likely sophomore antonio johnson look at the start there with his backup being eric young while i am not a texas a m football fan i tried to do my research and figure out who's gonna be the starters so if i got something wrong there's a player i failed to mention or you have any comment about about this roster be sure to let me know down in the comment section so there's obviously talent every single position but how are they gonna fare against this sec schedule and can they really actually make a push for the playoff well let's take a look Schedule at first glance the texas a m schedule actually lines up pretty nicely for them they open up the season at home against kent state and there is absolutely no reason why the golden flashes should be in this game and it'll be 1-0 for the aggies in week 2 they kind of have an interesting matchup as they will go to a neutral site game in denver and play against the colorado buffaloes while colorado was the surprise team of the pac-12 last year i'm really not very high on the buffaloes going into this year and while i love that program and carl darrell i think they're going to take a step back and last year was kind of fool's gold a m should have this game under control by halftime and unless colorado has some secret weapons that no one knows about it should be 2-0 for the aggies from there they play new mexico at home and there's not a lot of analysis to be done in that because they will win that game they open up sec play in a neutral site game against arkansas and i'm not quite sure why this game is neutral sight sam pittman has the razorbacks program headed in the right direction but i see no way that arkansas really wins this game unless kj jefferson and treylon burks have the best games of their career and that defense finds a way to stop this a m offense i think a m will have this game under control by halftime and they will be 4-0 from there they finally get to go back home to kyle field as they will play against mike leech and mississippi state this is somewhat of a trap game as we really have no idea what to expect from a mike leach team and we do know they're gonna throw the ball a lot a m's defense and secondary will have to play very well but at the end of the day i think the aggies are the better team i think they'll start out 5-0 and potentially be ranked in the top three going into their matchup with alabama this game will determine the season for them as if they do win they will be in the driver's seat of the sec west and if they lose they'll have to somehow hope for two losses from bama which just probably is not going to happen in my alabama football preview i actually said this game is 50 50. and instead of just going with 12-0 chalk for the tide i'm gonna make a bold prediction and say that texas a m wins this game at home well if i had to put my money on it i would say alabama wins sometimes you just gotta go with your gut and i think texas a m is finally gonna pull it off i think bama isn't a little bit of a down year and a little bit of a rebuild so i think a m's gonna take advantage of it and win this game i could very well be wrong but who knows the following week they play an interesting game as they go on the road to missouri they have lost their last two matchups to the tigers and this game will be on the road so it could be somewhat of a trap game or they could be a little bit of a letdown after the bama game while missouri is headed in the right direction and many see them as a sleeper team in the sec and i am a mizzou fan myself i don't see missouri winning this game and while they may keep it close or make it interesting i'm going to give texas a m that win and they're right now going to be 7-0 from there they play south carolina at home and this will be year one under shane beamer and that was probably my least favorite new hire in the sec i don't think south carolina is quite there yet so i think a m will win this game by a lot next they get auburn at home and we really have no idea what to expect under first year head coach brian harson we know there's talent we know they have beau knicks and we know that auburn always plays well but is it enough to be a m on the road i don't think so we are going to give another win to texas a m going into this i don't think texas a m is going to go undefeated so i came down to either ole miss or alabama to be their loss and i'm actually to go with ole miss while some people might be surprised or a m fans will complain about this pick i just don't think there's any way that the aggies go undefeated so they are either going to lose to the tide or the rebels and with this game being on the road i think matt corral and lane kiffin are gonna put up a ton of points and this will be an upset after they win over preview a m they'll go on the road to lsu and i'm not ultra high on this year's lsu team as i think there are question marks all over the board for lsu max johnson will be good in a couple years but i'm not quite sure how he'll do this here they have yet to find a true number one running back outside of keishawn beauty i don't really know who else is going to step up because they lost a lot and finally that defense was not very good last year so they really got to put it all together because of that i think a m will win this game at lsu and they will finish 11-1 and win the sec west because they have the tiebreaker over alabama i'm going to give it to the aggies and from there it would depend on who they play if they play georgia i'm going to give the win to georgia but if they play florida missouri or kentucky i'm obviously going to give it to the aggies there is real potential for a college football playoff appearance but it all will rest on the shoulders of hanes king i hate to put so much pressure and expectations on the poor guy but i mean he literally has the weight of the world they pretty much everything figured out they have a good coach they have a schedule that lines up and talent all across the board but it's just literally going to come down to whether haynes king can put it all together and lead this team to wins the three games on this schedule that will determine it all will be the alabama auburn and ole miss games and outside of maybe lsu in missouri i really don't think there's that many threats to this team let me know what you guys think though i could be dead wrong on some of my predictions so be sure to let me know what you agree and disagree with how the aggies do in 2021 are they a playoff team and also let me know what program i should take a look at next be sure to let me know down in the comment section hit that like button before you go subscribe and check out all my other videos on the end
