what's going on everyone Chris from pick dogs.com here with your free pick in the Cleveland Guardians versus Pittsburgh Pirates Major League Baseball matchup going down Sunday September 1st 2024 just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you subscribe to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets the games that I love including my daily $19 best bet head on over to pick dogs.com and click the premium picks tab at the top of the page but let's get to this one between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Cleveland Guardians the the Pittsburgh Pirates sending out Mitch Keller for the start in this one while the the Cleveland Guardians will send out Alex Cobb and Cobb haven't seen him in a couple weeks he took a couple starts off through the rotation but last time we did see him it was five and two thirds Innings a one-run ball only had three strikeouts maybe it's a little bit concerning that Cobb only has four strikeouts through his two starts this year but he is coming back from you know a uh a long stint on the injured list to to start the year so maybe give him a pass for that but now he takes on a pirates team that in the last couple weeks you know hasn't really been anything to write home about against right-handed pitching you know their their numbers you know are above League average but they're still hitting 259 and I say just because there's a bunch of teams ahead of them that are hitting well above that and the Cleveland Guardians not one of them they're only hitting 229 against righties but they are going up against Mitch Keller here you know and Keller last time out against the Chicago Cubs gave up three runs on seven hits over just four Innings of work and took the loss as the as the uh as the uh the Pirates just let it get away from from them you know over the course of the game and you know lost that game 18 to8 now obviously it wasn't Keller's fault for that but it just goes to show you you know he can take the loss there and the bullpen they can leave it up to the bullpen to try to help but if they're shooting themselves in the foot there's nothing your offense is going to be able to do and that's my concern for Keller here he could have a solid enough start but the Pirates in the last two weeks have the worst bullpen erra in baseball at 7.49 and while the Cleveland Guardians Bullpen hasn't necessarily been up to enough as of late their Bullpen ra is tied for League average over the last two weeks four runs less of an erra than the Pirates have 3.49 for the Cleveland Guardians and I just don't love Mitch Keller's form on the road either I mean here sure he's pitched well in spots but the majority of the spots where he's pit well has been at home and in in four of his last five starts he hasn't gone past five full Innings and that includes two Road starts where he gave up seven runs against the Dodgers eight runs against the Padres and still has a 4.81 erra on the road this season the Cleveland Guardians they're not you know necessarily lighting the world on fire offensively but this is a disciplined team this is a solid team this is still a team that's leading their division and in a dog fight for the AL Central and I think they get a win here to close out the series so I'm going to take the Cleveland Guardians in this one and that's going to be my free pick but just a reminder if you haven't already make sure you're subscribed to our Channel and smash that thumbs up and if you're looking for my Best Bets you can find those a pck dogs premium why are your pck dogs check out our bet betting tools they're 100% free they're the best betting tools in the business and tools that you want to make sure that you have in your back pocket when you're making your Best Bets for the day's action thanks for watching see you guys soon
