garage he was at a high school game last night right yeah Mason Woods then he uh Mason returned to I saw so looks like his D get a shut out I mean that has to mean a lot for this game and want to see how the defense is going to be could be much better I mean I got to so I'll go to Duncan tomorrow I'll probably give the dline three boxes DBS you know those dudes really don't eat much so I might just go one box and two boxes for the linebackers thank you for reminding me that um but guys are just excited to get it back out there um there's something about being a kinck I mean fall Camp's great but you know playing against a different team uh in front of in front of the soldout K Stadium I mean that you can't beat that um super excited for what we we showed for week one um you know you got your those first game Jitters I'm glad we we got rid of those immedately what happened on that pass interference call was it seemed like it was a little bit iffy from our perspective um yeah it's just a little I do a little inside grab when I know the guys coming behind me I thought it was light but you know it was a flag I got a I owe herit so her got the sack for fumble gra picked it up so I think I'll get them some food or something I don't know oh I got to pay them back maybe I'll s them on a blitz when they're not supposed to something what' you think of the guy who just walked in here Aaron Grace I mean he he's been doing that at all Camp um and he's just one of those guys you're excited about and when you're doing it against another team on game day that's that's even better um yeah he I mean he's came in as a young guy has competed all the way through and I think this is going to be a really big uh big year for him and you know he he's looks like a baby in the face but he's moving fast and he's moving bodies up there so me and Nick definitely appreciate him and Y up front to say the least when confidence boost is it when you can start off with something else kind dominating as this yeah yeah yeah we're um you know we we understand what our defense is capable of we know the standard uh but you still got to go out there and do it every Saturday um and the start like this I mean guy it it just felt felt fun like guys were having a good time um I don't know how many like guys we played defensively but seeing jayen Harold Carson sh out there you just I just know how important reps like this will help them for next year um so putting those dudes in this situation any chance we get as a plus and I mean we we put them in with 12 minutes so like that that's just let you know the trust that we have in everybody on our defense you I mean we coach top down um you know so starters are being coached hard backups are being coached just as hard just cool seeing everybody have a have an impact on today's game on the other side of the ball Vander obviously quite the game you know is this something you know was there a moment where you said oh man this guy is oh yeah yeah yeah Camp you know um he didn't even have a spring so Camp was the first time we saw him um we we knew he was going to be a special player I think we did a pretty good job of keeping Under Wraps but now I think the I think you guys know now but he's pretty solid um you know I'm true freshman so I I was not ready to do that in my freshman year so I'm really excited to see the player actually up above Illinois State kind of getting tired on off can you sense that on defense sort of have an offense you know looked like they were getting they had some uh some Tempo to them um they're they're quarter just the Dual quarterbacks uh they gave us a lot offensively getting out to the perimeter was their thing um they're their mobile quarterback I mean the guy was on the run a lot um they they act a lot of their their o line inside Zone sometimes and then next thing you know guys buing out um but yeah we we're trying to make it as hard as possible we're trying to give them as many looks um you know we're trying to send some new blitzes and all that stuff so the harder harder we can make it the better off it usually is for us once you actually got to game day was it weird not seeing Kirk out there yeah I mean usually you know where the Hall of Fame coach is at on sine at all times um but I mean he he coached all week uh he was gone last night um and we we we just have a good coaching staff I mean obviously I don't think coach Parker wants to be the head coach but um I think any coach out there uh could have been a head coach today just how they go about their business and um obviously I have so much respect for Coach Wallace I mean just the the time he puts um I mean when the cameras aren't on him uh how much he gets to this program I'm super excited that he could he could step up in that position being the assistant head coach and um I I just think he he coached really well um he trusted his players but yeah we we just did we had a good week of prep um coach F told us players wi games not coaches um we we kind of we kind of took that with surprise when when the offense is doing what it did during the second half just what what's kind of going through your mind um can I get on the field make some tackles uh no it's uh I told him I told the offense before the game I literally go before the media like tries to act like they were on your side you know last couple of seasons like remember who is really there you know what I mean so I I had a feeling this will happen I had a feeling you guys would like come be nice to him after the game but I I told him to see through the fake stuff and know like I was actually there um but I'm just super proud of those guys um I mean they they worked so hard I've been saying that my whole career um a lot of a lot of those dudes on offense are Migra got here in 2020 so when I see a Mason Richmond I see a Luke Le Logan Jones ellsberry when I see all those dudes competing like it just takes me back to the old days I know how much they they poured into this program so anytime they can go put up 40 points and we put up zero I think I think that's when we we're playing our best ball what did you
