comments regarding like the rent caps and just inflation especially needing assistance I've seen where my season senior said that there's a lot of things for people with children but where are the things for them so I really wanted to do this video but to help me help you drop your state down below so definitely when I find things I can bring it here as well but let's go ahead and kick things off with the home Jefferson County Alabama team where we're headed to Jefferson County Alabama where they have restarted their covid-19 emergency assistance program now Jefferson County is also known like in Birmingham they started accepting applications for its covid-19 emergency rental assistance program on Thursday now they do have qualifications that citizens must meet for example you have to reside in Jefferson County but outside of the Birmingham city limit as well now you would have to have like a household income at or below 80% of the area median level of course those that are experiencing any type of housing instability and document like your financial hardship whether that was from like impacted being from covid-19 or from one of like the following such as like you were unemployed maybe you have experienced like a reduction in your household income or even like a significant loss in hours or cost but this has to be like a documented hardship where you can show that you need this and you can get that rental assistance or assistance as well all right so next we're headed to Connecticut where they have the Connecticut Connecticut renters rebate program so they are now accepting applications but this is a income based program that will go ahead and provide like my elderly as well as disabled residents who qualify with money that they can use towards their rent or even their utilities as well and guys this what these rebates can be up to $900 for married couples and then $700 for individuals now an average is about $500 but they go up slightly each year for the cost of living but they do include like rent Utility payments as well that are actually made by the renters so for this year they did increase the income qualifications so if you're unmarried you have up to 43,800 and then if you're married you can get up to Pennsylvania 53,486 can apply for the property tax and re rent rebate programs for up to $11,000 so all my older adults and those with disabilities you can now apply for that rebate up to $1,000 it is the property tax rent rebate program this has been around for quite a while and it's like a Lifeline for the seniors especially those that are on fixed incomes in Pennsylvania now you do have to be at least 65 or older widows can be about 50 or older and then you can also be an adult with with disability now the rebates do range from $380 to $1,000 it just depends based on your income but you can apply online right now through my path assistance at the Department of Revenue and the district offices as well as you can go to like the local area agencies um and you can even go to like senior centers as well now the deadline for the Pennsylvania program is June 30th but you will get your rebates beginning July first so if you apply you're going to turn back around and get the rebate all right so next let's go ahead and head to Nebraska now in Nebraska they are Nebraska actually pushing for people to apply for their rent assistance this is the second round of money through the Nebraska emergency rental assistance program and you can actually go to their website and apply or um they even have different agencies but you have to meet like one of the qualifications like you have to be either unemployed or experienced like some type of financial hardship during or after the pandemic as well maybe you are at risk of being homeless or you just have housing instability your household income is at or below 80% of the area median income as well so for example I want to say like 80% of Nebraska's area um median income it's like if you're making less than about $80,000 a year for a household of four as well so so for those who are qualified you are eligible to receive up to $330,000 for rent and past du Utility payments as well the money directly goes to your landlord or utility providers but we're talking about 30 30 $330,000 guys OMG all right so next we are headed to California California Love well montere California their rental assistance program it opens up of the 15th of each mon month and they choose 10 applicants each month to receive three months of rental assistance up to $5,000 now they also have like where they can receive additional funds for legal assistance um housing counseling as well but these applications are really on a first come first serve basis so each month they'll allow 10 eligible applicants that they will select and review for this assistance but the application period is going to open up around the 15 of may now for um April I want to say that the program received about 267 applications in a 8 Hour window so you only get that day to go ahead and apply for it next we're headed to Colorado Colorado where they have the temporary rental assistance grant and this will start at 10:00 a.m. on May 15th as well so if you are interested they ask that you complete like a pre-application is available right now you will have 6 days to go ahead and submit the application During the period and then they will randomly select applicants and invite them to go ahead and apply for the temporary rental assistance now in Colorado they are awarding you about 7 months of rent or $10,000 whichever amount is the lesser amount but your household income cannot exceed 80% of the area of medium level for their respective area in Colorado as well now eligibility includes like at risk of being evicted displaced maybe you've even fell uh fall behind or fellen behind on your rental payments applicants must have experienced a significant life event that has negatively impacted you and your ability to pay rent so this includes like maybe healthcare related events um it could be like a mental health issue loss of reduction in income hours bement due to a death in the family as well and or maybe you just need to vacate the residents due to like a domestic issue as well so they do have like several things that you can use um but remember this will open up on May 15th now we also have where in Charlottesville Charlottesville VA Virginia they are doing $1,500 per household for seniors with disabilities as well so this is a form of their rental assistance program and it kind of works like a grant program in Virginia where eligible households they would get a check from the city to go ahead and help with rent now I don't know if you can use that check outside of a I don't know what you could do okay but applicants you must meet like a few criteria according to the website you have to be like 65 or older permanently or totally disabled as of December 31st of 2023 and then they have like of course a residency requirement income net worth limits as well as a rent cap so a rent cap so those who rent is above the cap you are still eligible but the grant will be based on the rent maximum allowed for the program that you're in not your actual rent so the elderly disabled program it went between March 1st and May 1st but they have extended the application period and then they also have like the Charlottesville homeowner assistance program that's going to reop open in July as well so we do have those programs next we're headed to Atlanta or hotlanta where you can receive $7,000 in rental assistance so Atlanta GA Atlanta they will go ahead and cover like your rental assistance or even emergency rental assistance due to hardship that is caused by you maybe you've lost your job or any other critical life requirement such as Transportation medical situations for you and and your household members so if you are in the city of Atlanta or an Atlanta resident you meet the income guidelines and you do not have a Social Security number or you have one they do have procedure and protocols where they will still be able to go ahead and assist you as well so if you're undocumented don't let situation like that hinder you from applying to this program help is available to those renters whose uh housing costs are subsidized by the government so just say like you live in a Atlanta Housing unit or you have a voucher and a portion of your rent is only just say $300 a month then they're only going to pay you out that $300 that you would owe as a tenant as well but the program will go ahead and prioritize uh parents of APs students uh young adults between the ages of 18 and 25 and then seasoned seniors age 65 or older but anyone earning up to 60% of the area median income you are eligible so they do have a special portal that you can go through is managed by arai collaborative and you can go ahead and Maryland Maine apply next we're headed to Maryland where they have their emergency rental assistance program now this is direct funding because the landlord cannot apply on your behalf eligible tenants you can apply and receive up to 18 months of rental assistance or Utility payments depending on what you want um in Maine they also have a new benefit rent relief program as well now in Maine they're doing what is called like a pilot program and this is designed to provide anyone who qualifies with up to $800 in RIT assistance each month for two years now there are several qualifications including like um income earning less than 60% of the area median income as well and then in Florida they have the mysafe Florida home they are Florida relaunching this program as well but this program is really for open up to my homeowners so if you have a home who has an insured value of up to $700,000 or less and must be a single family detached home the applications for this in Florida will open up on July 1st but they do have where you can apply like if you're a lowincome homeowner 60 plus you would apply between July 1st and 15th then if you're home owner any age you can apply between July 16th and 30th and then if you are a moderate homeowner just say 60 then you can apply July 31st through August 14th and then they also have another any age August 15th through the 30th but you must apply by August 31st and this is what we have guys this is what we have when it comes to rental assistance utility assistance vouchers rebat I tried to find a little something of everything some were specifically for seniors some were pilot programs it just depends I get it it's hard out here but I try my best to find different programs so let me know what you thought of this video drop your state down below so I can look up programs but you can always di 211 and there's still a little bit of money out here but you're just going to have to work a little bit harder for it and this is all I have
