Ian Rapoport gives an update on Jordan Love's injury after the Packers' game against the Eagles.

however from the Sunday headlines from Ian raport take it away Rich a sigh of relief for the Green Bay Packers everyone associated with the organization and certainly their fans you see Jordan love leaving a game like that just six seconds to go goes down with an injury it wasn't clear for at the time if it was ankle if it was knee the ankle is fine and I'd say most importantly the ACL in the knee is fine my understanding is it is an MCL sprain between grade one and grade two probably knocks him out a few weeks my understanding is about three weeks is probably the timeline for Jordan love could he beat it certainly he could but we will see if he's able to do that either way love not going to play for the next couple games it is unclear as of right now whether or not it'll be Malik Willis who is their backup quarterback they acquired just a couple weeks ago or whether it'll be Shawn Clifford their backup last year who was on the practice squad we will see who their starter is going forward yeah I I mean when when sometimes you hear reports and you see something uh on a on a roster move like August 27th Packers acquire Malik Willis and cut Sean Clifford and then resign him in the practice part you're like oh okay that's a little bit more than an okay now right I mean like no doubt How concerned are you right now about the Packers yeah I I'm concerned you know this the team I I love growing up and the whole thing so I have a real interest in them but uh it's a shame you you know you sign a guy to a $55 million contract and boom he gets hurt first game it's like gosh darn it um so I'm looking at their schedule because I don't know that they're going to sign somebody else they might have to play with Malik Willis or Clifford right and so can they win some games while he's on the menend and you're looking at the Colts um you know with with with Anthony Richardson a Young quarterback all right that's at home Lambo field crowd got to get going man you got to help him out and then they're at Tennessee right with Will Levitz that's a Young quarterback again and then maybe with the Vikings s darnold's a new quarterback so it the meat of their schedule every game's tough but the tougher games are in the back nine at least they got a chance to hang on and win some of these games while they're waiting for Jordan love what an unfortunate situation Jordan get back man we need you and so uh we'll see what happens but it'll be interesting to see if they sign someone else yeah I mean anytime a starting quarterback in this league gets hurt you're concerned about their team especially a team that you believe is going to make a push in the NFC coach you already shared the schedule but to me you lost your first game already so you don't want to fall too far behind I know we're being optimistic hey just three weeks for Jordan love but what if it's more towards the six weeks for Jordan love can they go and sign somebody like Ryan tanah Hill off the street can they make a trade for somebody that started because I'm not sure Malik Willis is ready to be a starter in the National Football League quite yet but I will give some love to Matt lefl I think he does an incredible job at scheming opportunities for his quarterback they went went and got Josh Jacobs for this exact purpose to where we can lean on him a little bit uh and then you know the quarterback can be a complimentary piece without Jordan out there so I think he does some great things we'll scheme some things he'll keep a lot of these games close but they are going to need their quarterback to make plays and that will be the big question no matter who it is at the quarterback position can those guys do enough to keep their head above water however long Jordan is out yeah I agree with what what you both said with the reason I'm concerned is because of statements like Matt laflor saying we don't need a number one this is exactly why you need a number one okay what is the conversation now what do you say we talking about a number one number one receiver number one receiver a number one receiver okay what's the conversation what do you say to Malik Willis usually when you have a number one you say hey if you get in trouble go to this guy on third down and long go to this guy if you need a go to go to him they don't have that right now do they have a lot of viable receivers yes but do they have a true number one no and that's why it's very important that you need a number one they didn't look great with Jordan love so without him let me just dive in a little deeper than that when you talk about a number one what it does for a Young quarterback is a lot of times you can put three receivers over to the right hand side and if you got that dude back to the left you can basically tell your quarterback hey if you get one-on-one if they stack the Box against the run and you got one-on-one with that dude yes throw it to that D and so there's some guys in the league you see you know Joe burrow and Jamar Chase are those every time he sees that guy one-on-one game's easy let me just play pitch and catch over there so that's where it can help a Young quarterback if you've got that dude I don't know Jaden Reed looked like a number one to me he looked good he looked good but they don't usually put him backside in that kind of a situation he's more of a slot guy so it affects that ability to just go oh sure one-on-one we don't really have that as much and Josh Jacobs did get the Run game going a little bit in the second half they got to count on Olympics I think and he's having a great year he's getting well paid but I really like this guy right here I like his size he got the hair going on you know what I mean he's got the arm Talent he's got running ability Trevor Lawrence now he's got a new contract too and I think he's just has a better upside doesn't have quite the The Supporting Cast that Tua has but adding Gabe Davis and Brian Thomas is certainly going to help so I think I would lean a little bit towards this big guy right here Trevor Lawrence how about you yeah for me too both of these guys have proven themselves to be good NFL quarterbacks neither one of them has taken that step over to show that they can be great and win in the big moments and win against the best teams in the league so I would probably lean towards Trevor too but let me say this if I'm running Miami's offense I'm taking two of because nobody's better at what they do right reading it they got a little Zone read what I call an RPO naked and his ability to anticipate and the accuracy to move guys with his eyes and find those little Windows they love to play inside the numbers I'm not sure anybody throws with better timing and
