actually had the honor of meeting her recently uh in Texas I got to talking with her uh her name is Joey Lynn uh she is a Texan who has become now a prominent figure in the defense of free speech in the US uh she and her husband Robert along with a few other Texans they are involved D in a civil lawsuit brought by officials from the Biden Administration and Democratic politicians uh the case stems from an incident in 2020 so now four years ago where they drove alongside the Biden campaign bus I cannot wait for you guys to hear about this incident it is insane um there are no criminal charges uh but the plaintiffs claim emotional distress um this has clearly become an attempt to suppress uh the exercise of free speech not just of the individuals involved in this lawsuit but of every human man woman black white uh regardless of any other identity factor in this country uh so I cannot wait for you guys to listen and learn with this interview with Joey Lyn MOS well Joey Len I am so excited uh that you have joined the gains for girls podcast uh I remember hearing about what happened to you and your family and actually uh a few other people in the state of Texas a few years ago but if I'm going to be honest this was before I was I mean I was still in college uh I wasn't overly politically inclined yet I wasn't really keeping up with what was going on and so uh I had the pleasure of getting to meet you recently and and rehear about what you and your family went through um and so I could not be more grateful for you for your voice for your bold and Unapologetic stand uh but I wanted to give you the opportunity to just uh refresh a lot of us I'm sure a lot of people already know but refresh a lot of us about what you went through uh what's been going on now gosh I mean I guess these past three four years um since the incident yes Riley thank you so much meeting you at the training Point event was honestly the highlight of the whole event you shine like a star I have found my courage and voice over these last couple of years um alongside people like you looking towards people like you and what an honor and a privilege to get to share my story with you and your audience to continue that um so my husband and I along with several other Texans are being sued by Biden's White House officials and Democrat politicians in federal court under the C clux CL law of The Battle for Free Speech 1871 for exercising Free Speech which was in support of President Trump that offended these individuals so the Biden Harris campaign staffer were driving in a campaign bus during the 2020 election early election time we drove next to them on the road with a trump flag in a trump train formation we made viral news Trump tweeted about it he talked about how awesome it was we thought it was an awesome way to show our support in Texas like you I wasn't really political it was just fun for me and then getting sued for that zero criminal charges just learning that they were infringing on a constitutional right to free speech that had to exercise the same way they did just rocked by socks and I thought I got to do something about this and so four years later we have been battling this in federal court oh my gosh so you mentioned this this this I guess um law however you want to word it that that you're being sued under but the reports I have read are basically they're suing for like emotional distress yeah so what's crazy to me Riley is law fair was not a term I knew a few years ago uh and I didn't even understand it was happening to me until we started reaching out to law firms to help represent us and attorney and First Amendment rights nonprofits were saying oh we don't want to represent you or get involved because this is law fair and the intent is to punish you with the process and to drag it out as long as possible and make it cost all this money and so when we were looking at the law they were using this coul plan law it's archaic it's from 150 years ago Republicans actually put this law into place to prot protect people of color who were at the time recently emancipated From Slavery and seeking to work go to school and vote and so we're like why is this the law that they're using against us this is really curious that this of all laws would be the law that they would pick and now in the past four years we've seen them use the same law against President Trump for January 6 Brandon stratco with the walkway campaign it's the same law that was used against Doug Macky who was facing 10 years prison time for the Clinton meme they are suing dases to Souza and true the vote for their 2,000 mules documentary so the same individuals have concocted this little blueprint or recipe to infringe on Free Speech rights that they don't like and to try to squash it and so when we realize that this is a test balloon they're trying to push out to silence free speech in America we're like oh no not on our watch somebody has to fight this so who better than a homeschool mom no one better uh to answer your question there is no one better um it's amazing to see I mean as you said you're you're you're just a mom uh this is never something that you wanted this is never something you you sought after uh so there really could not be anyone better or more suited to to set the precedent that hey we cannot back down um I think this is crazy uh for flying a flag uh driving next to the Biden campign campaign bus I mean have you always believed in in the way that you do politically have you always aligned Joey Lynn's Political Awakening conservative no what's so crazy I just um was sharing with Breitbart that I didn't know if I was going to vote for Biden or Trump in 2020 that is how disconnected I was my son was in public school I was drinking Starbucks I'm shopping at Target you know that was kind my idea of a good time and a good education and it wasn't until this knocked on my door that I realized I had to figure out what was important to me I had to start taking seriously what was going on in our culture what was going on in our world how it was impacting our our child and I have to get ahead of it I wanted to be the one to set the pace in our household and to be the one to decide what our child learned and that those values would come from the Bible and so I had to start going in reverse and learning things backwards and then try to recover ground with my child un School him homeschool him uh you know now I drink my own milk um like I had milked my own goat and had raw milk in my own latte like that is how far backwards I've gone um making my own bread and all that and so there's there's no denying that I'm voting for Trump a third time this upcoming election there's I mean nothing like getting sued by one party to push you into the other so all the time I thank them for helping me find a voice to express myself and to teach others how to do the same and to find courage in a terrifying situation which we've seen silent with several other defendants that were along side of us who folded apologized settled um because it's just too much for them but God has been our strength and we find joy and purpose in it so now we're extremely conservative no doubt uh yeah I imagine it's I mean it's liberating in a sense to be able to speak freely think freely act act freely um it sounds amazing your little Homestead that you have I wish I had that life it's it's I'm sure it feels just liberating but you mentioned some of the other you know plaintiffs or I guess people who are involved in the lawsuit who have had to to back down uh and for good reason I will say I don't blame a lot of these people I I understand uh the hurdles or I guess I don't personally understand but I can imagine the hurdles that you've had to jump over right I can't imagine this has been easy on you or your family from I mean from an emotional perspective uh from a Time investment from a financial perspective I mean can you can you speak to what this has looked like and again the hurdles you have had to to overcome yes you are so um in tune to that you're absolutely right it has been this black Challenges and Threats Faced cloud that follows us around of Stress and Anxiety especially in the upstart when we didn't really understand what was going on why this was happening mainstream media was is calling us political extremists domestic terrorists Christian nationalists threats to democracy um willby Goldberg in the view said that first we'd fly Trump Flags next to the Biden bus but later we'd be burning crosses in people's front yards and I'm thinking to myself what happening that I don't even have a voice to advocate for myself my child was scared that we were going to get taken from him that he'd get taken away we were getting dead threat hate mail people were threatening to rape me it was it was insane the way that the left was essentially told to hate us and then they acted on that um just from the media and so God has really had to do a big work in us to continue to give us faith and joy and hope that we look forward uh to a victory and to truth coming out and that the rest of that has to Fall by the wayside and go on the back burner so we can prioritize this fight so when I see other people settling like you said I don't blame them I understand the toll that that takes on a family and the choice you have to make to be miserable in this to fight the good fight they've even tried to force us to settle they filed an order with the judge trying to force us to settle and we fought that we essentially chose to continue enduring the abuse because we believe that the outcome is important enough to do that and so we've got the obama-appointed judge we have the gag order we have the unfair um oh I love it it's a baby sorry very the trash guy just got here I out really Qui lady I'm GL to it's you and not me it's usually a chicken that's so funny um oh my gosh no she's um she's a sweetie pie she's had a litter of puppy so she's like yeah she's Mama Bear anyways um if you could just remember what were we the last yes yes so I was about to go on about the Obama appointed judge and the Gap sorry okay no no so okay just like start there yeah if you could okay yeah so we've got the obama-appointed judge the gag order our trial by jury of peers is in Austin Texas we've got all the same law fair goodies uh the law fair treatment like a spa package that the law fair left loves to use against their opponents we see happening to Trump is happening to us and so their 20 DC attorneys and multiple nonprofits funding this lawsuit from the White House Down against average Americans that didn't even have legal representation I understand why it was too much for them but through Grassroots efforts God has given us resources to continue fighting and to essentially be the tip of the spear for all Americans Free Speech rights and so we cashed out our 401K we retained an attorney that was willing to take us the only one willing to do it and we decided to fight back and so after you know almost four years of litigation every time our bill has come through we've been able to pay it thanks to the help of We the People fundraising um our legal defense fund and we expect to see a victory in court by you the same evidence they plan to use against us to vindicate our ourselves and show their conspiracy uh again just really insane stuff that is affecting people who never sought this out um you mentioned you've Labeling and Suppression been called names you and I both right it's it's I mean speaking for myself transphobic homophobic racist white supremacist domestic terrorist fascist a Nazi the list goes on uh which have seemingly almost become I mean these words which are terrible in their true nature Nazi is a a terrible thing a domestic terrorist is a terrible thing yes these words and when they are thrown around by the media when they are thrown around by our government our elected officials um they lose their true meaning um the word racist has become I mean it's it's lost its true meaning which again is a terrible thing in its its true nature so why do you think it is that they label people like you and myself as these right-wing extremists M yeah I first of all I love this that you even took the conversation here I'm really excited to speak on it I want to just bounce back to the doctor really quick and say that he decided to fight because he wanted to bring meaning and purpose to this that has knocked on his door and I think that's what that's exactly what you did that is what I've done I love that this man is doing it and I love watching average people write up around the nation and say oh not on my way watch what do you pick the the wrong one and so that gives me courage watching other people and we get to link arms when we jump over to the topic of these labels that is definitely an intentional attack uh creating Division and civil unrest in our nation and neighbor to neighbor right just creating a Red Line in the Sand uh and championing this name calling and this disrespect and not seeing your neighbor or your peer as um somebody worth respecting but we've seen it go so much further than that Riley the people suing us have hired quote unquote experts these are you know IV link professors and this they've assembled this team that has followed us and reported on us for over a year to portray us on paper as political extremists Christian nationalists and threats to democracy and then interestingly enough these same expert Witnesses are testifying in trials and hearings against Trump to try to keep him off the ballot and saying that his followers are political extremists and he's unconstitutionally fit to be on the ballot so what it seems like to me is that this is a very very elaborate narrative to interfere with presidential elections and to influence um culture and then we're just collateral damage in that yeah and they don't care they don't care if if uh the American people I mean who they are elected to represent and protect that's Courage and Commitment to Fight their only job is to protect and to to provide in a sense limited right provision but that that's what their job is they are failing miserably they do
