what's up everybody we are on College footall 25 and it's been a while since we actually had a real video um I've just been I'll be honest I've just been lazy I've been on games but I haven't really been recording but we're going to do something interesting we're going to rebuild Georgia Southern let's go ahead and take a look at our schedule week one we travel to play Georgia in Sanford Stadium in ath Dy field and you and then after that we got some teams that you know maybe we expect to beat we got a by week then we got Georgia State rival Marshall you know just conference games so let's go ahead and J into it see what we do we're going to set up our recruiting board but I'll show that to youall later after the first game so y ain't got to sit and wait through it hello and welcome to Athens Georgia classic City and a classic day for college football the atmosphere absolutely exhilarating as a Geor Bulldog set to te it up at sanord Stadium to start this season match battle in the when you square off against another team that was raised on the red clay the emotion runs a little deeper as we'll see a squat from the Sunbelt the Georgia Southern Eagles taking on the number one team in the land the Georgia Bulldog for EA Sports college football ree Davis with you alongside David Pollock and Jesse Palmer and guys can't wait to and the Eagles ready to get this thing started and open the [Applause] season and no chance at a return here they'll start this drive at their own 25 the Bulldogs offense takes the field for the first time today and here comes the big fella a staple of this aerial attack Jesse and he guy they can line up all over the field David there's matchups out there waiting to be taken advantage of yeah and it's so nice to be able to do that it makes it easy to play quarter fast big and strong so guys over the last few years there have been seismic changes to college football realignment May liess one of the biggest changes the transfer portal yeah and now guys that are unhappy or in a situation where they see something that they'd rather be in now you can leave and there is no penalty so a lot of recruiting Jesse on other people's teams that go on throughout a season yeah it's 365 and it's a lot of pressure on coaches to re-recruit their own players as well to try to keep those rosters intact but the transfer portal completely flips [Applause] rosters got it in the middle it's 11 it knocked down at the 47 it's a 5y yard gain and enough to move the chains and the Bulldogs are on the [Music] move one step Jun knows to get him on the ground I'll tell you this is a running back who's very very dangerous and the defense did a good job getting them down there but they got to do a great job gain tackling because this is a guy that can break tackles and turn those types of plays into home runs and a big hit at the and the dogs have it with a first and 10 Ed the play fake now to throw caugh behind the line it's Jones it is this defense is going to have to be careful not only do they have to worry about this guy running the football but they've got to keep their eye on him when he runs routes too he is a versatile back they'll go back to the ground they bring him down he's going let the coms trying to run the footall nowhere to go for the carrier he tried toce it to the outside that lineer way too fast he met him there and forc the TF out quickly to the tight the off you want to get the ball to your Playmakers and let him make a decision let a guy Miss but third the first game is it last night though kick get first we've seen that before and here they are playing at home today nice job on the opening drive lots of think what we're going to do is offense has its first opportunity of the day one match up to watch in this one is how well the backers tackle in space David yeah and you've got to have great linebackers to get this guy on the ground and they've got it so it's going to be an interesting match up a lot of head-to-head battles linebacker versus yeah tackling him in space but also covering him out of the back field these two dudes are going to be shadowing each other all game long and how about the work up front by that big defensive line defense is about firing off off of gaps everybody supposed to be you could tell the defense everyone was right where they're supposed to be nowhere to run they thought they could just run it on Third and short but this defense was there to make the stop Georgia Southern brings on the punt team this will be their first punt of the afternoon no return coming he'll call for the fair catch we're ready to get another look at this Bulldog offense they've got the lead here last time they set him for a field goal but David got to find that balance between being being aggressive and careful and I think they'll take that I got the lead Palmer I got the football I got to take care of the football put a nice drive together and just get some kind of points on this drive no doubt lots to be happy about right now if you're this team I think for this one though on this drive it's about finding the one-on-one matchups that are in your favor and then exploit he's up to 49 y for them on the ground already in this first quarter he looks as if he's ready to put up numbers it's going to be I know I know they Playbook like they make the stop after the catch and still some work to do to pick up that first down and on second for this off midle from the gun they're running back looking for room they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one trying to pick up a first down quarter on the shakes off the defender didn't get much picked up a yard and that will leave them with fourth and two and they're going to head out the lineup for a field goal everything will have to be clean from 55 y away missed the field goal is no good made game after the Miss Georgia Southern has it back and here comes the again takes a hand off maybe I should FOC he going to lose yard on that that first play of the drive it's second and 11 out of the gun only three stars too and they four so one through three [Music] Stow find the earplugs here comes the noise backing this defense on third down caugh near the stick it's B he's got first down yardage across the 50 they'll mark it at the 49 here's this off with SE the give to the tail back a strong tackle and round Jun the running back didn't get much here but you know you clearly want to always establish the tempo run the football be consistent make that defense physically and after the tackle we are headed to the end of sorry you chak third going that ain't the play that ain't the play and the ball Falls incomplete well guys it's Georgia holding the lead at the end of the quarter and we've come to the end of the first as wegs on the team this will be the second time they've had to kick it away on the return it's love it they'll get get down and put a stop to the return at about the 28 yd line and Georgia ready to go back to work on offense we talk about settling for points but sometimes when you have to settle for nothing David it can be demoralizing yeah it can definitely be frustrating and I think it leads you to say maybe I go for it more but Jesse I think this offense just needs to put another drive together and just finish Stronger Yeah and and be a little bit less predictable too especially as they get closer and closer down to the end zone one man in the back field and he gets it he make the I'm M we got people going out there now facing a third and long looking downfield it's back he looks that one in nicely boy did he look as if he was going to go gets it down to the 37 this first half of offense won't go on the Highlight Reel so far starting to get things moving it's first and 10 unloads to the wide out all kinds of room to throw that one in there he was smelling that in zone but they get him down at the four after the big pass play now on first and goal let's see what Georgia will do they'll try to get it in with the Run he's dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three defense rose up deep in its own end on that that last play now a second and long coming he's looking to throw and that's going to fall to the ground incomplete that was a physical match up there third down coming now they missed a field goal on the last drive but you need to get points here touchdown and there they go with a touch and they'll put that scoreboard operator to work and put six on the board [Applause] P unit on the field the kick is up and good to go to work on offense they are trailing by 10 here Jesse but this is the type of team that seems comfortable in an offensive shootout you got to hold serve at this point right you got to drive the field put some more points up on the board yeah they just scored you can answer that now and keep this thing close D and I think you're used to that as offense like football is so fastpaced now and you score so quickly it's not that big of a deal to get down they come to the line Second and seven Williams looking for a man got his man there we go complete pass for like oh he was Off to the Races after the catch and they finally drag him down the Eagles are moving quickly down the [Applause] field from the gun he leaves it with the B and I think they'll give him two on that one second and eight coming up with the running game on first down now back at it from the gun running back gets to give Gun Room at the 35 he's run out of bounds but not before turning in a big pick up and moving the sticks for a first down and the Eagles come to the line with a fresh set of downs from the gun the running back tries to hit the hole mentality you're seeing right now and this is the point where this defense has just got to lock in it's third down now and they ought to be able to get off one more play before the two-minute warning fires to the tight end and he's not going the defense denying him the first down and here comes the field goal unit we got it it's good he hit that one right down the [Applause] middle the place to be tackled we're ready to get another look at this Bulldog offense that last drive an absolute aerial assault for the touchdown Jesse it was a nice job in play calling too David just giving the quarterback some easy looks and read so he could go out and and he knew exactly where to go with the football everything looked really really easy the ball was coming out of his hands the defense better do something different grabbed behind the line it's etn and he'll step out of bounds after a very productive play trying to get a rhythm in the pass in game now on second down he's looking to throw fires to the right got his man downfield he threw that one with some serious Heat this senior quarterback doesn't need a lot of space to get it in there back to the air one more time pulls it in it's Del gripping through the defense they get him down but this offense is set up first and goal from the nine and that big big Gainer on the last one has him ready to go from inside the 10 back to throw it's back unleashes to the end zone and it's a touchdown but hold on just a second we'll have to see what the flag's about that's some illegal touching the officials offer the deal and the coach accepts it they will take the penalty defense rose up deep in its own end on that last play now a second and long coming he's looking to throw damn not that time in the end zone touchdown dogs yeah and now this offense building that lead it's still the first half but I tell you what shown some glimpses of why they could become a really really good offense listen you go into half timee more of the same right this lead in the half you're behind love to create something before the break to build trying to get behind the defense and that'll be incomplete they tried to hit him with a big one on first down after the quarterback and receiver failed to hook up they'll try it again on second down Williams will pass forced out of the pocket got out of trouble and throws he caught this one's complete out across the 30 Mar down at the 35 after the 10yd gain there's a timeout call offense tries to find a way to draw a little closer catch in the middle it's Burgess he knew exactly where he wanted to go with that one and they've got enough for the first down running out of time here in the first half they're going to have to be efficient to put some points on the board before the break makes the catch really confident throw and catch there big pick up and they have a first down they'll use a timeout right before half time maybe time for one or two more and it goes through his he do that y taking but couldn't reel it in we got a timeout here late in the first half and they'll try to get more points on the board before the break and in the moment of the first half they'll oh that's going to be wide right oh no pay attention where I was aing fi and nothing changes still aint game that's the end of the second quarter that means it's time to join Kevin and our update to start the second half second second half they're going go the ball bounces through the end zone and it will be a Touchback George has it back ready to go work on offense if they're going to get on top in this game they're going to have to find a way to get the running game going broken unpredictability I feel like this defense has got a good beat on what they're doing especially if they don't mix it up a little bit so I do look for a little second half running the football pmer out of this group and I think the thing Dave is they just got to be more physical I don't think this is a scheme question about trying different run plays I think it's up to the Big Fellas up front they just got to make the decision that they're going to be tougher here in the second half so that they can win this game Snapper he is going nowhere stop at the line of scrimmage and that play had no chance and and you sell pass and you want to sneak the draw in there the idea is to get those defensive lineman Palmer running up the field but it's almost like they knew what was coming into traffic it's picked off those ofs can be huge momentum even with short return they're set up at the 45 looking for a productive play on first down from the gun they'll give it on the inside and he has a solid gain before the defense bottles him up hey five to six yds a pop I don't know if you guys are really good at Mat but that usually equals a first down every couple carries so don't forget about the Run game keep them honest P that run caught in the back field it's UR and that was some kind of collision between a couple of big bodies there that's what we got to do we got to keep wrapping up we can't be hit stick quarterback flips ite quickly to the receiver he just needed a yard on third down and there just wasn't any room to pick it up and they decide to tr out the kicker defense ain't too down actually the uprights good and now the lead extended F you've got to make the opponent pay for turning the football over and while this team would have liked to have scored a touchdown off that pick I think they're pretty happy getting number they're really starting to extend that lead as they get ready to kick it away again here he comes from inside his own five he was looking for more Running Room but not to be found as he stopped at the 23 Georgia Southern has it back and here comes the offense again they're going to throw it to start the drive a strike downfield and they'll finally catch up to him but not before a big chunk of yardage is picked up you open a drive like that and the entire Playbook opens up on first down from the 44 and they Cy the middle of this defense and that is not happening got stuffed on first down it's second and 10 Williams looking for a man gets it out quickly and a good job of coverage by that defense just a short pick up and this offense just has to find a way to convert this third down or else they are really in trouble oh man come on oh they really could have used that catch their physical pass defense it brings up a fourth down Georgia Souther brings on the punt team let's see if he can help the Y see that my player just ran all the way a stop coming out on first down with the play fake what a snag by the defense let's go and they'll on him after a good return on the inter interception in the season what a big gameing play I love when you see defensive players they jump on the ball like they were the offensive guys so aggressive going and getting that pick creating some big Mojo for your team and he'll step across the sidelines after making a good gain on that one got eight on first down now looking at a second and two on the ground it's white he is tackled but it'll be a fresh set of downs this is an offense that really sees their identity as being able to run the football nice job there picking up the first down they got nothing on the last play it's second and 10 Williams will pass he's got his man carrying the ball with Attitude down to the 42 really nice job by the quarterback understanding I need toow this ball hard like I got to fit in there tight and a nice job by the wide receiver and this s able to some Southern brings on the punt team he's getting a lot of work all time he's ped tonight do not hit the not it be down right there yeah just playing the field position game nice job angling it toward the side the that rolls down inside the really nice I said something about safy safy get it out of the end he take the safety oh and how about this defense understanding where they are in the field they got a chance to put points on the board and they do he'll field the Putt and look for room he got him stopped and he was close to taking that one a long ways down at the 38 Georgia Southern has it back ready to go to work on offense David the punter got some work last time they'd like to keep him on the sidelines in this drive the ball scor come we just got the I'd say that's a stroke of Good Fortune the offense keeps it a negative play to open the Drive let's see what they've got on second and 14 leaves it with the running back still on his feet at oh look out there he goes he's at the just got a touchdown against the and he some daylight it was time to make a house call I love the execution on that play great blocking up front just the ball carrier OPP in the that was a perfectly executed oh why did it's intercepted why did I throw that another look at this Bulldog offense and the last time they had the ball they wound up giving up a safety Jesse yeah that was UNG good the last time they had the ball so they got to do something here offensively to get into a rhythm running and throwing the football try to find that actually foret about the those don't very often try to get some first downs together get some good mojo that's enough for the first down but not sure they'll get another playoff here in the third quarter what a day it's been on the ground for these two guys from here on Third and long try to convert through the air right down the middle why to the left and he almost ran away from everybody on that one a huge pick up on that have this offense rolling wide receiver shows motion to the air on first down no no no no pick it incomplete and very lucky that one wasn't picked off man could they have used that it'll be second down couldn't make the connection last time let's see if they throw it again movement from the linebackers trying to with the offensive line assignments knock down at the 2ine but it's a big game 15 burst fires to the big didn't pick up a there moved it Forward first back I know it seems like an easy pitch and catch but for the tight end there that route actually changes if it's man covered so good job by him knowing it zone I'm just going to sit down this is basically like a check down right let's just take the easy pitch and catch and keep this drive going looking to throw it's back working that side now defense makes a stop but the change move in it's first and goal from the so so close to cashing it in for this offense OB maybe with the run on first and goal and they try the middle of this Stout defense and they arise to the challenge they'll probably bleed every second possible off this clock before they snap it he'll run it to the middle looking for the End Zone they get him on the ground at the three yd line but this defense is taking some punches if they can pay off this third and goal opportunity man oh man those collars start getting a little tied across the way they'll try to pass their way in they bring him down and he's going to lose a yard on that one so on fourth down here comes the field goal kicker in let them score very many points between the uprights it's good Southern has it back and here comes the offense again they're going to open this drive with a pass grab behind the line it's Arnold he's R out of bounds but a big play on that one and it'll be a first down here's this offense with a fresh set of [Applause] downs wants to throw on first down fires to the middle and the pass hits picked off he would have love to make the big return there but he still gives his team the ball at the 37 that should be the nail in the C what a great break on the football getting the big turnover you got the lead now just go out there smart on offense and run that clock smart move to keep it on the ground and a good solid pick up there before the defense knocks him down he's piled up 87 yds rushing in this offense wanted to establish the ground game and man have they started the season right in that regard from the gun the running back has it get away for and eventually taken down but what about that spin move gives him the first down yardage the offense will quickly use the [Applause] timeout he'll pull it on the re you'll take four on first down time they'll run it from the gun dropped behind the line of scrimmage that'll be a loss of three up third third down conversions are a huge St and this one would be a doozy if they can pull it off right back to the well and there were some collisions in there and the D finally stops him short of the marker they get the timeout called with 7 seconds left on the clock so here comes the field goal unit once again they' already kicked three tonight and as a holder picks his spot it'll be a 25 yd attempt field goal is good and that will extend their lead even F that last field goal was huge now it takes a touchdown to beat you and not a lot of time to get it if you cover the kickoff [Applause] well and here we go final play of the game right here Williams looking for a man starts to [Applause] collapse 11 I expected it to be I'm proud you're going to hear guys after this game say got to work harder got to be more intense you know sometimes the harder you try the worse it gets and it seemed to me that's what happened out there today yeah it just never really got into a rhythm for this team there's no doubt they've got a lot of very talented players on both sides all right 26 not bad let's go more restar B linebacker out of Nebraska restar quarterback at a Michigan there's no interest all I'm going to try my hardest Three Star Quarterback out of Louisiana three star but this just a bunch of wide receivers red tackles D tackles a couple quarterbacks that's better he's out of Athens Georgia he's probably going to commit to Georgia let's get he
