um wow basically [Music] yeah um yeah i don't know it's um it's a strange thing to put in words and especially as about two hours sleep i probably don't have the linguistic skills to kind of say how i feel but yeah just a great achievement and i've been eyeing out for quite a long while and it's finally here so i'm ecstatic um well the conditions are very rough and obviously you know what you see um on the field you know before before we come on to the field we're doing a lot of warm-ups and um so you know you're told that you're gonna compete at say 8 26 i was um you know due to go on and so we warm up get everything ready you get adrenaline flowing and then it gets delayed and so obviously you know you're still in that heightened state of like endorphins and you know adrenaline going for your body and you can only sustain there for a certain amount of time um so yeah that was one aspect of it and obviously the rain as well was hammering it down and so i was starting my run up in the um in the dry and then walking into like a shower or running into a shower so it was very strange um sensation on the on the body but you know these these conditions get given to us we got to adapt and deal with them and yeah considering conditions i'm i'm blown away by a yeah paralympic record is great so i'm going up in steps so european record paralympic record and hopefully next year the big one i think getting my my body ready you know i i had facilities open for me you know local people around me were great in hereford giving me the permission to use facilities and so that was really great um so basically after the um european championships i decided not to compete at all after that and focus on getting my body as strong as possible for the paralympic games and uh that plan really worked out i mean yeah if i if i'd have competed in another couple of times i just wouldn't have had the foundation strength to be able to deal with this like a near 70 meter throw so um yeah those were my preparations really because this is my first games um i feel that everything is new for me so everything is quite exciting um obviously the crowds aren't there but when you walk out to a stadium and it's at night time and that you got all the lights on it's just a spectacle in itself so and i made the decision not to visit the the um olympic uh the paralympic stadium before i competed just so that when when i got there and i saw it for my own eyes that it would give me that wow factor you know the same kind of wow factor that the crowd gives you and that really worked because as soon as i went out there it was just like the hairs on the back of my neck not that i have that many and all stood up and uh yeah it was just yeah it just got my heart beating so fast it was that next level of adrenaline well no not really i think um i kind of competed with myself and had in my sights really what i wanted out of the competition so i was getting the best out of myself and if you know if anyone wanted to go over that then you know they're the better man right so um i was just yeah focused on my own competition i mean the guy that came second the iranian you know he had a personal best by like nine meters his incredible performance so it's really nice to see that coming up through this through the sport and actually having having that level of competition i mean all the way through the the paralympics so far that the competition is just rising and rising and rising which is just brilliant and it's brilliant for spectators to watch
