Wet and cool conditions coming this weekend

all right let's look West over the city of Toronto it is a little bit hazy that's because of that Wildfire smoke but overall we've had warm temperatures today plenty of sunshine things are fairly comfortable as we get through this evening here in the GTA sitting at about 22 degrees in Toronto 26 down towards Burlington and Hamilton where things are a little bit warmer however there is some very cool air out across the northern sections of Ontario which I want to show you because it is a fairly cold pocket of air and there's a sharp uh contrast between that cold air and the mild air across the South we will start to get into showers and thunderstorms tomorrow and then comes that coold down for this weekend so things are going to be drastically changing as we get into the next uh I'd say 24 to 48 hours here in Southern Ontario there's that rain maker uh it is going to be bringing some scattered showers out across Northeastern Ontario tonight mostly cloudy skies after midnight 18 degrees is your overnight low the showers and Thunder storms they start to push in and so does that cloud cover through tomorrow morning it looks like most of the GTA will be dry for that morning drive to work in school but just towards the west and north of us even parts of Cottage Country getting into some very active wet weather and that continues right through tomorrow afternoon into the evening again locally heavy downpours are possible within those storms but the heavy and steady rainfall moves in Friday overnight into early Saturday and that will basically Target from the Niagara Falls region out to towards eastern Ontario Kingston to Ottawa and that will be ongoing right through Saturday morning that whole system shifts towards our East and then in comes that cooler air that will trigger yeah Lake Effect showers not lake effect snow but Lake Effect showers and that's because winds will be coming in out of the north and west fairly Gusty for both Saturday and then stronger for Sunday we could see widespread gusts over 50 kilomet per hour the rainfall it's going to be very Hit or Miss but of course the heavier rain towards the east of us which I mentioned uh but wrapping in around it we are going to be quite gloomy and unsettled right through this weekend uh Saturday 16 degrees is your daytime High your overnight lows are possibly falling into the single digits so extra layers needed especially heading out into the early morning and late afternoon hours 18 degrees on Sunday still well below seasonal very Gusty as well some Lake Effect showers possible we're bouncing back to seasonal for Monday lots of dry conditions moving into next week as well and more Sunshine 25° on Tuesday Wednesday looking beautiful and really all the way into the end of next week looking spectacular
