Kyle just uh kind of for you uh taking kind of control one of the receiver jobs uh what have you kind of seen from maybe some of the guys working on the other side now with with Carlos banged up uh just knowing that they're competitive and that I seeing them studying their playbook studying film so it's always a next man up mentality and they've been doing good showing that I know Steve's sitting over here but I was going to ask you this anyways uh he mentioned a few weeks ago you guys really like to go back and forth with not only your battles on the field but kind of drawing at each other too how much you feel like that kind of you know keeps you uh focused keeps you energized in practice I love it I love going against the best person every day so Steve brings that energy it's always iron sharp and IR you know what I'm saying and at the end of the day he's polishing off my game and I'm helping him polish off his game hadn't have a chance to ask you about college ball 25 yet you're one of the highest rated players they've got you with the fullon uh full on dreadlocks uh What uh you like your rating you think you should be higher I really think I should be higher you know what I'm saying but E A always going to play you over a lot of people get mad about my dread saying it's not really that long but when I take them out they be hanging coach scker and Coach Edward shared that they had several conversations about kind of your voice in the locker room and your your leadership uh what role do you think you have in leading this team and yeah uh just keeping everybody together uh we do have a young team a lot of unexperienced players so just letting just being that backbone for players let them know that they could come with me and let them know that everything is not going to be perfect you know uh being here five years or being playing college football for 5 years you see a lot of ups and downs you go through a lot of ups and downs with yourself so just being that backbone for people you know what I'm saying letting them know that it's okay to make mistakes and you should never feel low on yourself going into Portland State kind of what's your mindset on entering this game uh nameless faceless opponent we going to teat him like any other body on the schedule we coming in excuse my language to whoop ass and then kind of H is is there anything you did this Summer that you feel like you really massively improved and kind of what are you most proud of of your work in the summer entering the season uh just staying consistent uh creating a routine for myself just knowing that health is a big uh thing for me so just staying healthy taking care of my body daily catches daily film just staying consistent with the ins and outs what's the feeling like now that you're finally getting into game week and you're going to be lining up against somebody else other than your teammate on Saturday I'm excited you know I know Steve and me they tired of looking at me and everything I'm tired of looking at Steve so it's just fun you know I get to unleash something El with somebody else and then they could really feel where I'm coming from and the the connection between you and John kind of how how was that built I guess through the off season and into this point and and what do you feel like it is here in week one oh I feel like it's a pretty strong connection but we still have to continue to build I feel like that comes with off field chemistry watching film in the classroom uh just having dialogue just talking about stuff getting on the same page are you are you a lefty lucky lefty well that Mak two of us let's go come on baby what uh what is the Scout on Pro and state what do you got of know about them at this point um honestly in my opinion I say they're a good team you know I don't want to take them for anything granted uh person across me is going to get all 110% and I feel like we're going to do that for every team on the schedule
