Brandon Aiyuk ADP FALLING While Deebo Samuel is RISING! What It Means for Fantasy Football 2024

go down and this is the San Francisco wide receiver room um Debo Samuel is up 6.4 spots Brandon auk down 6.2 spots so Debo's new ADP 31.6 aukes down to 31 or or 36.3 yeah I mean I think it's pretty obvious right like people aren aren't sure what's gonna happen um with the the situation with auk and his contract and you know will he will he be moved will he stay right and and there's uncertainty I know today he was holding in right where he's at practice in Street Clos but he's not practicing um and so I think he's going to play I don't think he's gonna hold out um and yeah I I think that's scaring people away to IU's price but honestly I think this is a good thing for his Market I like Brandon auk but he was a heavily efficient player last year and it does worry me this team threw the ball the least amount of any team in the NFL last year like you know it's great when you have a receiver on a team like that's you know one of the best offenses in the league but there's just not a lot of opportunity and there's a lot of Playmakers around him CMC like George KD uh Debo Samuels there and so I I'm kind of happy that this is moving because I happen to like auk but there are times at his ADP where I'm taking Jaylen mod right like I'm taking guys like him in that range because I I don't know can iuk sustain you know efficiency drops off at some point like and then you need volume right that's my worry about achain I that was Wadd last year wd's efficiency dropped off yeah but he was banged up all year and and he didn't fall into the end zone enough which we talked about last week so yeah I I I'm happy to see that the Market's adjusting to this though um I hope it stays this way and I hope he drops even more because if Brandon auk somehow falls into the third round in fantasy football drafts that's an a that's an automatic draft for me um but I do have hesitancy with guys like Wadd in that range I do happen to like Debo Samuel I think you know for whatever it's worth there's a lot of factors that make guys move up and down the board I do think there is something to be said about this receiver show and I think people are starting to notice that he is the heartbeat of this offense and so they starting to realize he is just that important like they talked about one of the games where Debo went down I I don't remember what team it was it might have been the Raiders or I can't remember who they were playing but like they oh it was the Browns game where they lost and it's like they had a whole game plan they pretty much focused their game plan around Debo Samuel and now that he's gone it's like they didn't practice to to have him not there which is kind of malpractice on Shanahan side but you start to get a glimpse of like this is the Cog that gets the wheel to move and so Samuel is is probably the most not he's probably the second most most important player on the team outside of CMC on the offense out of pass catchers or skill players so backing up to your point about how efficient auk was last year and this is what kind of worries me a little bit about the 49ers that entire offense was hyper efficient IU uh he was wide receiver 16 in points per game on 105 targets KD was a tight end six in points per game on 90 targets Debo was a tight it was a wide receiver 12 in points per game on 89 targets can this efficiency be maintained two years in a row um so that's one thing when both of these wide receivers are going where they are and when it comes to which one I want I'm not too scared off by auk holding in holding out whatever you want to call it when it's all said and done I believe he's going to be out there um but like I kind of lean Debo Samuel and I kind of did I did a 180 I was more on the IU side because when you look at the past Debo Samuel we have to factor in injuries from earlier in his career but the past three seasons he's played in 15 13 and 16 games 2020 was the year uh he suffered uh the major injury and cost him uh 10 games uh nine or 10 games so he's been for the type of player he is extremely physical he's been healthy he's been reliable uh in 2023 and 2021 he was a a wide receiver 12 in points per game and a wide receiver three in the middle 2022 played the least games 13 and finished as a wide receiver 28 points per game so we know if we get good 15 16 games out of Debo he's gonna pop as a top 12 receiver because that's what history is telling us and he also takes handoffs that's another thing about Debo Samuel that is a positive when it comes to addressing him in fantasy football he's excellent uh you know receiver uh or or what do you call yards after the catch receiver he can take handoffs in the back field uh I I think it was on the receiver Show on Netflix they one of the coaches on a 49ers might have been even pery somebody said they they almost called him just as versatile as CMC because he's built like a running back or linebacker on the you know like from his waist down but he had the moves of a wide receiver he's extremely hard to stop the only thing that stops Deo Samuel is injuries so I and again you bring up something I say all the time he's the heartbeat of this offense he's the heartbeat of this football team almost like how I feel about Zeke what was Dallas missing last year I know Zeke's declining but when Zeke's out there the offense hums a little bit different the stadium cheers a little bit louder and that's what Debo Samuel brings to the 49ers uh and then when it comes to Brandon iuk I I think he's a very very good receiver but who's to say that if Brandon auk is traded that he's gonna put up the same numbers he was again he's gonna get more targets but you want to know what else he's goingon to get if he gets traded to a team and he's their deao wide receiver one he's gonna get double covered he's going to get you know the you know guys like uh that's who's the Jets he's going to get S Gardner he's going to get Elite corners what we don't know about Brandon IU yet because like again the 49ers CMC Debo IU KD it's hard to double cover anybody who knows who Brandon auk is if he gets traded so I'm gonna bet on Debo Samuel who I believe is the more complete football player and and and I think he's a little bit better for Fantasy than Brandon nauk because Debo gets those valuable carries especially in the red zone yeah so one more comment to close it out and then and then we'll get to these couple comments and questions here you know the only thing I would say is auk has been healthy and every single guy around him has had issues staying healthy so it's only a matter a time sometimes uh that's why I mean I you can't predict injuries but I mean CMC plays so hard he's been healthy KD always good to miss a couple games and and same with Debo Samuel they play so hard that they miss games and you know in that respect like when one of those guys goes down the rest of those guys explode right it only takes one guy on this offense to go down and the whole offense are wide receiver ones tight end ones running back I mean CMC is a running back one no no matter what but you get the point so you know iuk is a guy his play style is not as as dangerous and I don't like to predict injuries but one of these guys is good to miss a few games and that's partially you know that that factors into it for me it really does um and he could be playing as crazy as it sounds they could be playing for a contract this year if they don't get it done does he play for a contract and does that affect how he plays we see guys sometimes it's good sometimes it's bad I don't know um but we have a few questions here I want to get to them um one's about the the comment and then Greg I'll get to yours after uh but one's about the IU conversation uh rthm says Rashi rice or Brandon auk um it's not as crazy as a question as it sounds because again like Rashi rice before the sus suspension talk was a two three turn wide receiver in bestas ball drafts so it's not a crazy com question to ask I do think I'd prefer Rashi rice at his cost because you're getting a guy like him he was like in the wide receiver 80s now he's jumped up to wide receiver not sorry not wide receiver 80P in the 80s now he jumped up to the 70s and now he's all the way up in the 60s it's almost like he's jumping up 10 spots every single week he didn't jump up a ton this week um but so so at his cost Rashi rice is probably the guy I prefer here um you know he's also playing with a much better quarterback so I don't know what your thoughts are on that Anthony but um you know I'm I I'm I'm a Rashi rice guy and more times than not like I I love the value you know we talked about rice the last show you go back in the archives and pull these clips I I think he's too valuable to the Chiefs to where when he's on the field he's going to be the wide receiver one he's earned the trust of momes and rice going into this off season before before worthy before Hollywood and before the off the field stuff rice was a late second early third round pick his ADP fell all the way into the 90s it's creeping back up by the week but he's still of value as so I'm I'm in on Rice especially you know as I keep saying and and Pete keeps saying as we get closer to the season and there's no off the- field resolution it's hard to imagine the NFL is going to come to a resolution and suspend him this year so we could potentially be looking at a suspension in 2025 yeah I agree um so we had one thing here Greg said he said he just sent over achain for Jaden Reed uh Jaden Reed and achain for CMC in Dynasty what are your thoughts I like that a lot uh it's tough to give up uh two talented players and read an achain but if you are contending I think that's a a great trade if the guy will accept I don't know if he will depends on the player if the guy's half in half out or in a rebuild it makes a lot of sense for that owner but uh I love to see MC side yeah that that's a that's a smash accept if uh if that guy takes it for you you're you're probably looking at a two-year window with CMC if you believe your team is good enough to win in the next two years then I make the move yeah you know if your team's not good enough to win then I I don't think getting CMC because really he he is getting older I think he has a and you know maybe with a lot of other teams CMC falls off sooner but he's in such an efficient offense to where they're gonna scheme him open and I and again so many Playmakers there how do you take out one where I I think we get two more Elite Seasons out of this guy
