we're talking with just some of the other backs too what's how did you feel like it came together today just being able to rotate with the guys and produce like you did collectively yeah it came together well today you know we put a lot of work in this offseason as a group and we got a lot of different guys who can do a lot of different things so I guess you guys got a a sneak peek of that today but we got a lot more to prove as a group uh I'm proud of those other guys you know we all came out and ran hard ran behind our pass but credit to the old line as well uh cuz those guys are everything for us you know we can't make big plays without them so just give credit to them how do you stay locked in throughout a game when like that first half you weren't getting as many carries and then you kind of get the hot hand in the second half how do you kind of keep it Focus throughout it yeah I've always been um you know told just to stay ready uh be ready for your moment uh even last season you know I had to wait a long time so uh I just prepare myself uh to be ready for any moment whatever they throw at me whenever they need me to make a play uh go in there um I'm ready so I'm just you know I'm thankful for it I'm grateful we got a lot of good players but when my moment's you know there I'm going to make the moment happen what was it like for you to see Gabe have the performance he had after going down last year and getting a chance to get back out there sir I'm proud of him like I said him and Ramirez well both coming back from injury it just shows that you know they've overcame a lot of adversity just to see them out there again and be out there with them at the same time was great so uh yeah I'm proud of those guys how validating is it just for the office to perform the way it did after all the work you guys put in a camp to you know make this first game happen feels great uh like I said we did great today but we have a lot more to do a lot more work to do uh I'm going to go into film and just watch see for the mistak Stakes uh to be ready for next week but it just shows you know this offseason we took it serious when it came to you know the little things and overcoming those three points that coach we always talks about uh so as an offense we're going to be explosive moving forward and I'm just you know glad it came together a little bit today but we got to keep improving how do you feel like this first game today prepared you for Colorado next week and then after that I would definitely say just you know how the complimentary football um our defense you know had our backs uh it was 77 early there and then they got a safety got the momentum going so I think the great teams have complimentary football and I think that's what we did today you know the defense had our back we had their back uh so that was great for us to see that today with the number of weapons you guys going to have overall on offense this year I mean do you as a running back notice more space to run I mean do you do you find are you finding that you're running against different looks than maybe what you were last season uh yes for sure uh the receiver core you know those guys have been explosive as you seen today uh Isaiah some of those veteran guys too that's uh here we got a lot of speed we got a lot of guys that can make difficult catches so that's just going to make the running back's jobs easier at the end of the day so it's great to have an explosive offense because it's going to be tough for teams to stop us you notice that a little bit today like fewer guys in the box or guys worried about some some the receivers I did kind of notice cuz you know when I was getting those runs and everything like that uh they didn't know if we're going to run or pass which is kind of crazy cuz last year you know a lot of people thought we're were just going to be running the ball but now we can do both so uh you really can't Scout and plan for you know having guys who can make plays in the receiver court and running backs who can run the ball so we're just going to keep improving from from it and keep learning and getting better and keep growing what do you think your role is in this room with with everyone having different skill sets and the four guys being listed at the top of the dep chart everyone kind of kind of getting a chance to to have their hand today yeah I feel like my role is going to be just being you know explosive uh being a playmaker uh putting up points quick you know giving our defense opportunity to go out there and shut them out uh playing complimentary football but I think my role is definitely going to be just being explosive with every carry every reception being good in protection uh whenever my name is called to go out there I'm going to be ready so how have you tried to navigate the the relationships in that room and and helping build each other up and knowing you know there's only so many carries to go around yeah we push each other really hard in practice and Coach EJ does a good job with us uh with the mentality part of it you know we all been through a lot you know Gabe rir been through a lot so I think we just have a lot of you know pride in our room and we take it serious everybody has a standard for us but we have our own standard uh we're going to play about at every game so I'm just really proud of those guys and we all iron topens iron in the room every day so we're just going to continue to grow and get better than appreciate you guys
