Uh oh... | Wordle #1168 (Aug 30 2024)

hello let's do worldle number 1168 for Friday August 30th and I asked for two starting words related to golf and Michael suggested eagle and bogey all right so we're probably one of these AE trap words um I could just do stare really good letters a lot of people start with stare all right well stair starters just got the AE and got right into the Trap um just like me hm so what I really worry about is whatever goes between this A and E right so n let's see n and K and P and D are probably good ones to think about maybe a c so I want to do a guess that uses as many of these as I can I am going to try to still do a hard mode guess though at least for this one I think like the nape of the neck I think is just nap but let's see yeah unfortunately it is um so knnc n p how much of this can I get I could guess sha I think that's been the answer or has chaff been the answer anyway okay well that didn't actually get most of the letters I needed I think I might be in trouble here what's actually left though I've been thinking a lot about what goes between the AE but what goes at the start I've used up the R H and L I'm starting to think we start with a vowel cuz like unless there's a Ken word I don't see how we're doing to I don't think it there's a Ken word I don't see how we're doing that oh I think Nave is a word but I don't really want to guess that fifth I might have to do a filler but let's let me think about what we could even be here um I don't think chafe was a good fourth guess I probably could have come with something better um if I don't have options it's really hard to come up with an appropriate filler so I should think of options like that's exactly what wordbot does right it thinks about every it figures out every single option that could be the answer and then it comes up with a word that catches as many as possible um what about like a q you Quake so Quake is definitely possible uh I don't know if we've had Quake before it sounds familiar but I don't want to trust that so I think Quake is an option um what about like starting with I like in innate is no in there's no T but I also don't think innate is spelled that way I think it's it's two NS um or u n un I'm thinking about doing a filler that does like Qi just to get all the vowels out and then I don't think I should include a k cuz I think if it is Q I think Quake is it I really don't think there's another option yeah there really doesn't seem to be so what I'd like to do is get other letters as many other letters as I can just to oh you know we could have another E also have I thought about like EA ending an e or something like that like piece but there's no C okay so at least sha chafe removed or chafe removed the C as an option um or like ooh evade evade is an option for sure I'm liking that um oo okay so I don't think there's like an EQ word EQ e Qi quid um I'm just trying to see if we start with that e so maybe I just do a pure filler we want to check for Quake but we also want to check for evade [Music] um this is this is rough like what else is even there like I am I was thinking image but there's no G so like I don't see how I am Works other than image I think we've had image before as well but I can't trust that um I can't trust my memory on those things cuz I play too many other word games um Umami no uh in fact I think that would be like that Umami interesting um what about like an i AE doesn't ring a bell so we're down to quake and evade maybe if I if I was confident it was just those two I could just go for one probably go for evade but I don't think that that's a good idea starting with e would would give me a lot of confidence about evade um or doing two e so like doing something like queen queen is not good right I mean it tells me if there's two e but if there is two e I'd have to just assume it's evade I wouldn't get the D or the V out of that I think q u uses too many letters what if I just put a u second and that would imply that we'd start with Q um and then I could use a V and or D and I could use a k for Quake it's just you can't really make words out of these letters together um it's attempting to do something like video but it's really gamly for Quake um duve here's why I'm saying duvet because if it's Quake that U will be green and it kind of implies Quake cuz I think it would have to be Q you I don't see what else would go UA like that so with a green U there I think it is just Quake if if it's evade we'd have a yellow D andv if it's something else we wouldn't have either of those and I'd have to think harder oh darn I'm getting the hi why what's with wle and giving me the hiccups okay so this is not much better than it really not any better than um just going for Quake or evade unless there's a third word then it is better cuz quake and evade do not get each other at all all right this is the best I can think of duv it is it is neither so there is a word I didn't think of and I hope there's just one of them we did get a v though and it does make me think we're an a word is it I did think of Nave oh no it's definitely a possibility I I just didn't think it would be an answer and I forgot about it cuz I didn't think it would be an answer is there anything else that's a that might be more likely it could be Nave such an old word though no one uses that word right now do you hear it in like historical shows um basy and historical I don't think it would be quave okay so I think if the V is there I think it's Nave can we like repeat the a like a something a e or E something a what oh what about like E A leave is gone heave is gone peeve like your pet peeve is that e e weave oh [Applause] no of everything I've thought of I think weave is is the way to go well I better hope it's weave it wasn't oh I just lost my streak it was Nave oh no there there wasn't a way for me to know a squirtle bot it was Nave if I just gone with Nave and not even thought of weave I would have won oh no so duvet was not a good filler I wonder if it even comes up with a filler that's really sad I'm really sad finally got my streak back up okay well let's uh let's let's ask robot so eagle and Bogey and the answer was Nave so you know I I said Nave so early too didn't I um I almost guessed it didn't I I can't I can't dwell on that that's just going to be sad for me if I dwell on that so Nave would eagle has two EAS in it okay it happens it happens eagle has to ease in it so Nave would have those colorings that that's right isn't it yeah sorry I'm not I'm not happy right now so 97.83% solve rate so it's it's saying hey do the best you can uh get lucky it is actually saying Nave would be a good guess here that's what I thought too and I didn't do it for some reason uh so stare it is not suggesting for some reason but that's what I did so we got the AE now it's suggesting that we can win if we go with awake which is interesting or Nave or Quake I thought of those um so what did I guess next I guessed chafe which is not suggesting didn't really help much did it yeah so that that brought us from six possible answers to five possible answers it eliminated only chafe now I have to go awake or or now way to have any chance of winning interestingly awake narrows it down so from here where I was trying to think of a good filler it was a maze and a wake which I didn't think of at all inan which I didn't think of at all Nave and Quake also these what what did oh yeah and so what was I think I was thinking it was either Quake what was the other word what was the word I was thinking with the D and the V evade oh again evade wasn't possible because there weren't two e so oh if only I'd noticed that eagle had two E I think I would I would have definitely been fine um shoot so what it's saying here is if you don't go for a maze it's doing hard mode right so it's saying if you don't go for a maze or a wake um or even a maze isn't good enough but if you go for something like Quake or Nave or an Nate you're going to get into the oh no sorry sorry I thought these were more related what what am I thinking what why is awake so good it gets you a maze obviously gets you awake um why does it get you inan Nave and Quake so the K gets you Quake what's the difference between anain and Nave for awake awake inan Nave oh awake gets that a in the middle they both they all have a in the middle that's green right now never mind oh the K the K and awake would be yellow for Nave right so awake would be the thing to guess in hard mode here for sure um I went with duvet which is let's see in non-h hard mode I think awake is still the best way to go cuz it's perfect so um so I went with du B and what did I get out of that I just got the yellow V yellow e and so I was down to just Nave as an answer or a wave so if I had even at this point if I had realized there weren't two E I could have won with Nave which which I knew okay um let's look at it solve from here so it goes with crate or trace or prate or Trae I mean all of them are 97.83 but let's just take the top one so we were Nave so we just get that now it goes with it's say still saying we might lose let's say we didn't pick Nave here let's just take the top one spake so we'd still have we'd have get the yellow K which is great and then it gets Nave so it gets Nave in five with this start let's look at C and I'm also going to do stair because I know there's a lot of stair starters and it gets you straight into that AE trap which is probably St isn't the best Hard Mode start start um so puts them in in less awkward places if you need to move them around um so we'd have this AE that would be it and now it goes for Beard notice how it's still not walking into the AE trap here so still Nave just has those letters now now it's saying hey we can win we only have seven words left um Omega gets us a win so again not walking into the AE trap Nave has none of those letters what did I mess up with Nave oh the a should have been Green in there so sorry let's do this so it's saying okay we're not quite reduced but again if we lose the one and five for Nave we can go with say AG um and that gets us oops it's not the G that gets us Nave anyway okay so it gets Nave in four with s beard Agave Nave now let's compare that to Stair where you get straight into this AE issue um it's saying plague I'm going to pick Glade because it's an actual answer word plague is not so I'm going to go with Glade here and we just get the AE then it guesses the word I lost on heave just the AE oh no we get the we get the v as well for Nave and then it gets Nave and four okay interesting choices there so if you get in the AE trap follow up with Glade I guess and go from there interesting it gets the G and the D I think these are all letters that could go between the AE which is uh which is why it's good all right cool well that's a lot of analysis but I wanted to do that since I lost um I you know what since I lost I want to see what its non hard mode Eagle bogey does how how good does it do there so we get this a e an e here let me sure Nave is in this list okay yeah so we're going to turn off hard mode so it goes with crisp here just get a lot of good letters basically is um the C so R would be second a lot in um AE words it's getting the C and P and S yeah I think I think that's the reason all all between a e so for crisp Nave has absolutely nothing and so now it's between four answers already Amaze awake Nave and Quake so it would go with something like Quake we get the AE we get our K and now it's Nave so I think really the key for me was just simply realizing Eagle had two e in it which I did not all right well let's spin the wheel of theme see what we're starting fresh with tomorrow if
