Today it's about the roof ventilation system from Domestic, called ACC 3100. I had the device installed in our new Vario three months ago and I would like to report on my experiences. And on the other hand, I would like to talk about an installation that we're about to look at with Horst, my friend Horst. He also has such a device and installs it himself. I would like to report about that. Welcome to this video. Yes, there were a few questions that were asked or written to me about the device, about this roof ventilation system. Maybe one thing in advance: So the whole thing is not an air conditioning system. If I want to really cool down, then I have to have air conditioning. This device is primarily intended to purify the air in the motorhome. It was nice, fresh air. Without even opening the windows. If you want to cool you can do that too. However, it only works that way when it was very hot and it gets cooler in the evening. Then you can set a level. It's called a turbo and then it brings in the cold air from outside and pulls the warm air out. Of course, this only works to a certain extent. Yes, now I might have to go a little further. We had the device installed in the back of our motorhome in the sleeping area. There was a skylight in there, which we didn't have in our previous motorhome. We didn't have a skylight there. Now the manufacturer says he has to install a window there to have forced ventilation. Is mandatory. Good. I wouldn't have liked roof windows at all, simply for various reasons. Once you hear the rain or anything loud. You're more likely to hear outside through a skylight than if it 's a closed ceiling. Especially when it rains, it rains on these plastic roofs and that is unpleasant. In addition, I opened the roof hatch at night. On the one hand, cold air quickly falls in and on the other hand, our roof window at least makes noise. That means when there was wind, it always rattled a bit and that bothered us. Now about the function, a little bit. So I can't explain the device 100%. But there is the possibility on the Internet to read exactly how the thing works, its ceramic honeycomb plate in there, which somehow works with two fans and together does the whole thing. This means that it cleans the air and not only brings the cold air in and takes the warm air out, but also the temperature or the temperature compensation is regulated via this ceramic plate. But there is also the fact that there is less dust in the air, for example. So in our device there is, I don't know what it's called, what's built into it that puts this dust together. So that gets stuck in the filters. We notice ourselves that we no longer have as much dust in our mobile phones. And do we always only have particles over some small window and dust on our fingers? That is no longer the case. You can also use the device to see the air quality. That means I have an app and this app shows me what value or how good the air in the motorhome is. There is then a value that can be between 50 and up to 400. The lower the value, the better the air quality. I've tried that several times. This means that if you spend a long time with several people on your mobile and don't have a window open, you can immediately see that the quality displayed on this app is worse. And when you have the device in operation? For example, we always have it on automatic, so this device always keeps the air quality at a reasonable level. This device has, I think there are four different settings you can use. Once there is the automatic setting, you can actually leave it running all the time, then you can hear the device very, very quietly. Then there is a setting called Slip that we set when we go to bed at night or when we go to bed. Then we switch it to slip. Then the device runs very, very quietly and only switches on when he thinks the air needs to be cleaned again or needs to be improved. Then there is another setting that I already mentioned. This is Turbo. You can switch it on to bring the air or the air temperature down a little. In the evening it brings the cool air in and pulls the warm air out. Then there is another setting and it is called Storage. This means that if you park the motorhome for a longer period of time, you switch this option on and then it not only keeps the air clean, but the humidity is also regulated via the device. He immediately notices that if something is wrong, the device becomes a little louder. Then things run a little faster, I tried everything. In my opinion, everything works very well. So, that's pretty much it for our or my experiences here with this ventilation system. Now let's go over to Horst. He lives here in my town, so I'm going there right now and we'll show you a little bit about how to install this device. We are standing here in front of Horst, his motorhome and it's about this device. This is a domestic roof ventilation system , ACC 3100 , and Horst wants to install it in his mobile. Exactly. What reasons are there? So we have a roof hatch exactly matching this part 40 by 40 and this roof hatch at the point where this is to be installed . I also have to add that my device doesn't have a solar field on top, so I don't know much about it. But I now know that there are different versions and, among other things, there is one with these solar cells and a lithium battery. This means that the device can also be operated without a twelve-volt connection. Of course, only as long as you have sun. Horst has already removed the frame from the old roof window, bought a one-handed support at the hardware store and sawed a board. He places this one-handed support on the floor of the motorhome and then attaches the board to the frame that remains of the window so that he can then use the pressure to lift or push the old window upwards. And let the thing sit there afterwards. Like that, because otherwise I'll reach the edge. You have to be very careful, but it will come. I would now ask whether I should put it on the other side, but now we have to determine the thickness of the roof. The one who has the material here. Yes. The thickness so we can solve the distances. That is now exactly 32 millimeters. Yes, yes, you, this already has a wooden frame in it. If you were to install something like this and you had to cut the hole, then you would have to insert a wooden frame here . But since there was a window in it, that's not necessary. We have to do the following right away. First of all, clean this up here. Of course that takes time. Then I'm going to drill a hole here and then shoot a tube into the compartment here for the power line. That means there will be Styrofoam between here. So first of all, wood here. I have to drill that. And I will poke the Styrofoam through to the back with a hot copper rod . So don't drill, but poke with something hot that I've heated up beforehand . And then I would drill a small hole from the other side, so that you don't see it. You could also lay a cable duct, but what does that look like? Exactly. Yes, the hard task now is of course to clean everything here. So that the dirt doesn't somehow fall to the ground down there. Here in the motorhome, Horst is now sticking old garbage bags or foil here and the window and the opening. Then the dirt collects in it, reinforced by. The fixing. Yes, so that you can get through as safely as Hector. Yes, it's windy outside right now. Now of course the whole thing has to be cleaned from above. The old product and any dirt has to be taken down and scraped off. And then you have to clean the surface with an appropriate cleaning agent so that it is completely free of grease so that the new seal lasts. Yes, yes, of course it has to be cleaned really well. But first do the rough stuff. Yes, so now it's about the following: We cleaned it really well, everything was top notch. It doesn't get any better. And now we need the hole for the power cable, since it's now wood on the outside. The frame has to be drilled first and there is Styrofoam behind it. Then we'll see further and now I'm through, it becomes Styrofoam and we also make Styrofoam with a hot wire, if you will. We melt the welding wire to the point where we want to go. Yes, now this rod is heated. And when it's warm, you can hopefully push it through the Styrofoam quite easily. At least we hope that isolation means we have it now. Exactly, it has to melt so that it doesn't crumble. Then it stays nice and smooth. A hole is then drilled into the ceiling of the wall of the cupboard. The cable is then pulled through there so that you can drill in the right place. You draw a rough outline of it and then drill a slightly larger hole in the ceiling. Of course only through the first layer into the insulation. Then you push the rod in again and feel whether it reaches the right place. And then you can pull in the cable. That's worth something . Now you could give me the cable. Yes, it's on the table. I've been preparing for a bit longer. Because too long is not as bad as too short. So if we move forward now. Assuming everyone already looks good. Yes, yes, yes, we have to push everything through this lower part. We must not forget that. The spacer sleeves for the other part that is screwed in from below must be cut to length. At Horst, that's ten millimeters thick with a 32 millimeter roof. There is now a table and our roof is 32, which means the length of the distance is ten, so I have to saw it in millimeters and now I have to saw off ten millimeters. This has the following purpose: So that, depending on the thickness, it cannot be squeezed indefinitely when putting on the story, which is screwed down from below. Otherwise you could turn it so that the whole thing simply squeezes the entire seal to the side. I'm assuming that this is to prevent this sleeve, which I then lay down to length, from going in here and then the whole thing is assembled and, depending on how much I have now sawed off here, it then comes together . Brilliantly thought out. Now Horst shortens the spacer sleeves with a small saw and sands them a little more so that they are smooth. The whole thing is a bit tedious, but it's no use. Must be done. Yes, now we have carried the device up here. And now we want. Put it on dry first and see if it fits at all. It's not like there's glue everywhere afterwards and you think it's all wrong. I don't know if that's how it works. Yes, that's what it looks like from the inside too. That fits well. You just have to help a little with the gray seal so that it slides into the opening. There, now it's getting serious, now that the fan is glued in. Let's look at all the means. Yes, let's try to get a reasonably good seam there. Yes. Yes, I think it's better if you do this installation with two people, otherwise you might be missing a third hand here and there. Yes, that's fine. You have to help a little bit so that the whole thing slides in properly. Yes, it looks okay so far. The sealant is Dekalin, which is a permanently elastic adhesive and sealant. There's no rush to screw the whole thing together. So that the appropriate screws are. If we have to put four in each of these secured particles of ten millimeters in my case, it has to go there too. That means I have the guides at the front like this, that's how it has to go. And what about all the cables that are still hanging down there? They all have to go through it. They all have to go through. So here's something to keep in mind for me. Really now. not bad, I think. Overall the whole thing. You can now maybe push in a screw and try. I don't know if I'll catch them. Now just the right hole. So actually it can't be any other way. Take one opposite of you. And then we actually have to be on the right side. That's what my cable came through. Yes, that's here. I can also do this with a screwdriver. Here, this is then tightened with twelve screws. Yes. Yes, the whole system consists of four parts. We've already installed two, now we're on the third. This is a plastic plate with electronics on it. The circuit board for the entire control system. Everything that needs to be spilled will be moved later . Until he screws them. But first he has to take a lead, so he looks better there. I'll be careful first. That's not how I want to design it. You can either see a display on the board , which you can use for operation if you don't want to use the app. C1 I have a side that is very one-sided with electricity from outside. There is a plan showing exactly where the individual plugs have to go on the board. Hmmm. So, we now have the device in operation here without a power connection. Now we also know that this can be done with solar alone. A small battery is installed in the device, the rechargeable battery or a rechargeable battery. That's right, this battery lasts a maximum of one day and is then powered by the solar panel up here on this hood. That means you can also run it without a power connection, i.e. twelve volts. Of course there is a problem somewhere when the sun no longer shines and the small battery is empty. Everything else will connect as now. Here the twelve volts, the cable is still hanging down, wire up. Not wired, but we have already tested. You can already see the light burning, shining. We have already tested. Now and then the whole thing can be controlled via the app, Horst will download the app straight away and then we can continue. Horst, it looks good. The light is on, the device is running and yes, the air is already being cleaned. Uh, yes. What else have you done? The work is done, as they say. The only thing that's still missing is that we finally put the lid on here, so that it has a filter with the filter in it. Yes, yes, Now we just had to tighten everything up a bit so that everything could be accommodated. The cables are out here and it worked right away. It currently runs on battery, which means there is no external power source yet. So the twelve volts are not connected. I wanted to test how long it would last. Exactly. No, you plugged it in. So it was switched off. The tension. The voltage, external voltage drop. The battery should have six amp hours. I don't think we mentioned that before. We were told about a day, so a full battery would last. Of course, if there is no sun now, then things will look bad. You have to have an external connection. There is a permanently installed solar field here. We saw above when we briefly showed the device. And this solar field feeds a battery. Yes, this battery. The device is then operated with this battery. So does that mean, purely theoretically, you could get by without a power source at all? Theoretically yes. And then operate it via solar. But the sun doesn't always shine. That's why a power supply is of course important somewhere. So I'm assuming that because we always wish for sunshine, but we probably don't always have it. So, you've already listened to the volume of the device and that's always an issue, like. How do you see that? So I connected the whole thing to an app via Bluetooth. Yes. So now we can just go up there. As far as I'm concerned. It says automatic here , so I can switch it on and off. Here I can tell the app whether it should run automatically or on Turbo. Now when I want him to start steaming, I'll do one now. Can you all hear it too? Yes, I think you can hear that now. Now it works and is a bit louder. Yeah right. And then I can now go to sleep again . Right now. Hardly noticeable, but you can still hear it quite easily, I have to say. If you're very sensitive, it's obviously stupid, but that's acceptable. Then I can go to Storage again here. This is when I park the mobile somewhere in the garage or for a long time. Then everything stays constant. This regulates the humidity and so on. Exactly. And then we had, we have something else. Oh and automatic. The car I have is the automatic. I use the automatic setting most often. And when we go to bed, I switch it to Sleep and then I basically don't need to change anything else. Well, as you said, when you switch off, you can switch to start and then it's fine. This may also need to be added. The device not only cleans the air and makes the air pleasant, but it also keeps the humidity constant or greatly reduces it again. Maybe if someone says that my windows are always very foggy, practice will show whether that goes away completely. So I can only say this from theory. Well, we haven't tested it yet, but at some point I'll get back to you and share my experiences. I think that's pretty much it. Yes, yes, the dust is reduced. So that's one thing too. Maybe we haven't said that yet. Yes, you can't see it anymore. There's an ionizer at the top of the pot , which smells a little like ozone, very slightly if that means something to you, and it attracts the dust, but it's not collected here somewhere, it's distributed the way you want explains this to us in small balls somewhere in a corner that you can then pick up. Yes, that's an exaggeration, but it doesn't always lie like you see it, on the front of the dashboard, on the cupboards. And so forth. Well, if we dust every day, it won't be noticeable. But you don't necessarily want dust in the air. That's not so nice in such a small space. This is the exact information about what the device can do. I will also add this to the text under the video. You can also find it on the Internet under domestic and the device is called CC 3100 and there you can read everything about what the device can do in detail, which we may not have mentioned everything here. Exactly. Yes, that's all we need. Raise the lid and then put the lid on top. And now it's successful straight away. I've never done it before. It's a relatively simple story. Theoretically, it should . Yes, that's it, it's done. We put such a lid on it and that's it. Yes, we will report again at some point about what happened and whether it worked. First of all we would like to say thank you for watching. Thank you and bye bye until next time. Bye.
