The Commanders sign Sam Cosmi to a 4 Year Extension!

Commander signed Right Guard Sam Cosmic to a 4year extension Adam Peters I'm trying to tell y'all he is playing chestn checkers and he's cooking like a air fryer we're going to talk about it next on Washington football Maniacs what's up everybody it's your boy Brandon Scott again and before we get into today's um episode if you're not a member of Washington football Maniacs definitely consider each game and obviously we're going to hit you guys with the latest news in Washington commanders land so good news today guys Sam cosmi signed to a four-year extension this is the first step towards the Washington commanders building up this offensive line for franchise quarterback Jaden Daniels so let's get into the tangibles of the deal um again the Washington commanders did agree to a four-year extension with starting guard Sam cosmi um the extension is worth $74 million with $45 million guaranteed so his rookie deal will run through this season and it will kick in next season so why is this a big deal well first of all Sam Cosby is the top 10 guard in the NFL Pro Bowl caliber guard so he right now he's the anchor he's the guy that you build his old line on now much deserved this guy has been a you know a very stable piece of his offensive line and I think that you know again this is the first step towards uh solidifying and building up this offensive line because look Jaden Daniels is a generational talent in my opinion he is a franchise quarterback for the Washington commanders and you have to defend him and you know uh signing Sam Cosby to an exension is the first step towards building up this Old Line because Again Sam Cosby is a top 10 guard in the NFL Pro Bowl caliber and is much deserved and like I said this is the first step towards building this offensive line where it needs to be so um let's take a look at the offensive line and what the status is of it right now now again Sam Cosby at Right Guard is the consistent source for this offensive line um he's been a guy who's performing at a pro bowl level and he's a guy who is proven that he can be the anchor of the offensive line but there are still many questions now is this a nice first step towards the right direction absolutely you know this is an Immaculate step towards building a respectable offensive line to protect Jane Daniels because that has to be prior number one Jane Daniels is again a generational Talent he's a guy who's gonna be really really good in the NFL and he's slated to be the franchise quarterback for the Washington commanders for at least the next 10 years plus that's what we're all hoping for right I know a lot of us have PTSD from RG3 a lot of us felt the same way about RG3 but New Era New Times new quarterback and we're looking forward to the future so looking at the offensive line real quick still some questions right I'm looking on the right side Andrew Wy you know they're probably looking to upgrade next year whether through the draft or in free agenc Andrew W is the guy right tackle but he's not going to be past this season and if he struggles very well you they could make further moves at right tackle but right now Andrew W is a guy that's gonna hold it down for at least this season and they definitely need to upgrade uh next offseason with through the draft or in free agency but right we get the Right Guard Sam Cosby holding it down you know he is he is there that is his spot and look like I said he is the anchor he's the guy that you build this lineup on looking at Center uh Tyler Vias man I think he's very intriguing I think that you know obviously um he's a stting center but he's a guy who could be a future piece now you know looking at behind him who who could be pushing him I don't think anybody's really pushing him for minutes I mean Michael DEA right now is is is is depth he's not really um in any position to take away the starting position so T Bas man is a guy that I'm looking at um another very important piece he's a guy that along with Sam cosmi you have to show some consistency and stability on the offensive line and I think it starts with not only Sam cosmi but with talab badas because I I think that he's going to be a really good Center here in DC now looking at left guard Nick Alig you know he played well in Kansas City but the sample size is very small as far as being a starter stared last year um looking at him beat obviously the stter this year at left guard but he does have a little bit to prove could he be a future piece at left guard we'll see I because getting to left tackle Brandon Coleman Brandon Coleman is a guy who can play a left guard and if Nick Alig does not hold down a left guard position you very well can see Brandon Coleman may be taking over left guard um if he doesn't pan out that left tackle now left tackle The Blind Side man very important that Brandon Coleman holds down the left tackle position Dai doesn't again they will upgrade they're looking to get that left tackle of the future whether it's through the draft or free agency you know we haven't had a quality um franchise left tackle since Trent Williams now nothing against um Leno Jr I think that Charles Len junor was um he held down the spot of left tackle he did a really good job but obviously he wasn't a future piece he was a guy that held it down till we found somebody else and BR Coleman if you look at the fact you know where we got him um could he be a value pick he very well could be he's shown signs that he could be the anchor at left tackle for the future but we'll see because you know training Camp's one thing playing against Real opponents is another and you know preseason is still too small for samp to really see what you're getting out of a guy you know week one we're GNA see so looking at the offensive line you know the first step in the right direction was resigning Sam C because to me Pro Bowl caliber guy um at right tackle he's a guy who is a top 10 guard in the NFL so he's the guy that you build his o line on that's your first guy you build you build around Sam cosmi and I think that with uh Adam Peters uh signing him to a four-year extension good move great move by the organization because again you have to build a z line and the first step is Sam cosmi so that is one part of the line we do not have to worry about because like I said he's a guy who I think is a pro bowler he's a guy who I definitely believe and look a lot of people um are with me that he is a top 10 guard in the NFL so he is definitely a guy that you start building upon when you look at the o line but like I said a lot of questions still though you especially if you look at depth um again left tackle brenon Coleman they looked at him to be the guy at the Blind Side but you know we'll see you know backed up by Cornelius Lucas uh left guard Nick alrti he has a lot to prove in my opinion but he's shown some signs dating back to his time in Kansas City but I think he's a guy who you know we'll see you know he's definitely going to have the the opportunity to prove that he could be the left guard of the future um talab B at Center I think that again I think he's going to be a really good Center and no Sam cosmi the future Right Guard and Andrew Wally again is probably the weak part the the the weak link of this offensive line in my opinion Andrew W is a guy who's definitely this probably be his last year n DC they're going to upgrade whether in the draft or in free agency or in the trade market we'll see uh what direction to go to but they definitely need to upgrade after this year nothing against Andrew Ry but we're desperately in need of an upgrade at right Tech so again guys it's time to celebrate because again the Washington commanders reassign Sam Cosby to a four-year extension much deserved you know he has shown that he is a pro bow caliber guard and he is a top 10 guard in the NFL so it's time to celebrate because they're making good moves you know Adam Peters is playing chess not Checkers strategic He is building this team for the future and while this team you know looking at the immediate um is looking in to be a seven to eight win team this year I think we will surprise people I think we will be better than advertised but I think we're a year or two away from being a serious contender in the NFC East but Adam Peters is cooking like a air fryer man he is building his team for the future and then the biggest key to all this is building a sustainable winner not just winning one year you know looking at other team look looking at New England New England was a sustainable winner when they were in the hunt year in year out and we have not been there in a long time and that's what they're trying to do you know from you know new owner Josh Harris to new general manager Adam Peters even to the coach staff under Dan Quinn they're trying to build this team into a sustainable winner so I think this is the one of the first steps to doing so building this offensive line because you have to protect franchise quarterback Jaden D because he's looking to be he's gonna be very special and a lot of people are saying that you know definitely check out our last video uh that Greg did where he brings up the argument that you know Jane Daniels very well could be better than Caleb Williams and there's nothing against Cale Williams I you know a lot of people you know either you love him or hate him you he's caught his Flack for different reasons on off the field but I will say this I do believe that Kay W is going to be a good quarterback in the NFL but Jay n very well could be just as good if not better in my opinion and that that opinion is shared by a lot of people so on the offensive line building that offensive line has to be priority and re in signing you know Sam cos to a four-year deal is that first step you know Lau once said a journey of a Thousand Miles begins with a single step and they took that single step today signing s cos me to that fouryear extension so again the offensive line does have questions but I think they are definitely a work in progress but they're a unit that's going to get better and they're going to start to build his own lineup and overall this team is starting to build up you know they're definitely building for the future especially if you look at at this previous draft from this year man he's building for the future he is definitely playing chess not Checker so again guys um um if you guys not a member of the Washington football Maniacs hit that
